Why Do People Call DeepSeek "Fake"? (The Truth Revealed)
The Language Barrier Myth
DeepSeek is trained primarily on Chinese-language data, leading to awkward English responses.
Example: A user asked, "Write a poem about New York," and DeepSeek referenced skyscrapers as "giant bamboo shoots."
SEO Keyword: "DeepSeek English accuracy."
Cultural Misunderstandings
DeepSeekâs humor, idioms, and examples cater to Chinese audiences. Global users find this confusing.
ChatGPT, trained on Western data, feels more "relatable" to English speakers.
Lack of Transparency
Unlike OpenAIâs detailed GPT-4 technical report, DeepSeekâs training data and ethics are shrouded in secrecy.
LSI Keyword: "DeepSeek data sources."
Viral "Fail" Videos
TikTok clips show DeepSeek claiming "The Earth is flat" or "Elon Musk invented Bitcoin." Most are outdated or editedâChatGPT made similar errors in 2022!
DeepSeek vs ChatGPT: The Ultimate 2024 Comparison
1. Language & Creativity
ChatGPT: Wins for English content (blogs, scripts, code).
Strengths: Natural flow, humor, and cultural nuance.
Weakness: Overly cautious (e.g., refuses to write "controversial" topics).
DeepSeek: Best for Chinese markets (e.g., Baidu SEO, WeChat posts).
Strengths: Slang, idioms, and local trends.
Weakness: Struggles with Western metaphors.
SEO Tip: Use keywords like "Best AI for Chinese content" or "DeepSeek Baidu SEO."
2. Technical Abilities
Coding:
ChatGPT: Solves Python/JavaScript errors, writes clean code.
DeepSeek: Better at Alibaba Cloud APIs and Chinese frameworks.
Data Analysis:
Both handle spreadsheets, but DeepSeek integrates with Tencent Docs.
3. Pricing & Accessibility
FeatureDeepSeekChatGPTFree TierUnlimited basic queriesGPT-3.5 onlyPro Plan$10/month (advanced Chinese tools)$20/month (GPT-4 + plugins)APIsCheaper for bulk Chinese tasksGlobal enterprise support
SEO Keyword: "DeepSeek pricing 2024."
Debunking the "Fake AI" Myth: 3 Case Studies
Case Study 1: A Shanghai e-commerce firm used DeepSeek to automate customer service on Taobao, cutting response time by 50%.
Case Study 2: A U.S. blogger called DeepSeek "fake" after it wrote a Chinese-style poem about pizzaâbut it went viral in Asia!
Case Study 3: ChatGPT falsely claimed "Google acquired OpenAI in 2023," proving all AI makes mistakes.
How to Choose: DeepSeek or ChatGPT?
Pick ChatGPT if:
You need English content, coding help, or global trends.
You value brand recognition and transparency.
Pick DeepSeek if:
You target Chinese audiences or need cost-effective APIs.
You work with platforms like WeChat, Douyin, or Alibaba.
LSI Keyword: "DeepSeek for Chinese marketing."
SEO-Optimized FAQs (Voice Search Ready!)
"Is DeepSeek a scam?" No! Itâs a legitimate AI optimized for Chinese-language tasks.
"Can DeepSeek replace ChatGPT?" For Chinese users, yes. For global content, stick with ChatGPT.
"Why does DeepSeek give weird answers?" Cultural gaps and training focus. Use it for specific niches, not general queries.
"Is DeepSeek safe to use?" Yes, but avoid sensitive topicsâit follows Chinaâs internet regulations.
Pro Tips to Boost Your Google Ranking
Sprinkle Keywords Naturally: Use "DeepSeek vs ChatGPT" 4â6 times.
Internal Linking: Link to related posts (e.g., "How to Use ChatGPT for SEO").
External Links: Cite authoritative sources (OpenAIâs blog, DeepSeekâs whitepapers).
Mobile Optimization: 60% of users read via phoneâuse short paragraphs.
Engagement Hooks: Ask readers to comment (e.g., "Which AI do you trust?").
Final Verdict: Why DeepSeek Isnât Fake (But ChatGPT Isnât Perfect)
The "fake" label stems from cultural bias and misinformation. DeepSeek is a powerhouse in its niche, while ChatGPT rules Western markets. For SEO success:
Target long-tail keywords like "Is DeepSeek good for Chinese SEO?"
Use schema markup for FAQs and comparisons.
Update content quarterly to stay ahead of AI updates.

4 signals AI will continue to be a narrative in 2025
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/4-signals-ai-will-continue-to-be-a-narrative-in-2025/
4 signals AI will continue to be a narrative in 2025
AI innovations have taken the world by storm since ChatGPTâs debut in November 2022. Weâve seen more organisations integrate AI into their workflows: a recent survey by McKinsey revealed that 78% of the respondents work in organisations that use AI in at least one business function.
Whatâs more intriguing is the bounce back of Nvidia, now the worldâs leading chipmaker. Its stock price has surged by 1635% in the past five years, placing it third in terms of value in market capitalisation, slightly behind Apple and Microsoft.
But with AI running hot over the past two years, most investors are questioning how far the AI narrative can extend. Are we close to an extended pullback or are there some fundamentals to keep the AI narrative alive?
While we may witness a period of slowed growth in the medium term, there are several reasons why the AI trend will likely continue much longer. The next section of this article will highlight four key signals that point to this likelihood:
High adoption rate of new AI tech
ChatGPT set the record for the fastest growing user base in the tech sector, eclipsing the 100 million user mark two months after its launch data. Today, there are over 400 million ChatGPT users weekly.
ChatGPTâs latest image generation feature has witnessed massive demand, with users coming to the platform to create Ghibli-style AI: âItâs super fun seeing people love images in ChatGPT, but our GPUs are melting,â said Altman in an X post.
While there have been criticisms about copyright issues, whatâs worth noting is the rate at which the world is experimenting with AI innovations. Gone are the days when AI was a niche carved out for tech bros; AI is mainstream.
Advances in digital human innovations
Imagine a digital doppelgÀnger that can interact with other internet users on your behalf at the same level of personalisation you would. This has long been a dream for many AI enthusiasts and it may finally be becoming a reality.
It is possible to create a hyper-realistic and intelligent digital twin through an AI-powered SaaS platform like Antix. Unlike conventional avatars which lack human qualities, Antixâs digital humans offer a new level of digital interaction. They are designed to deliver realistic interactions, letting users engage in more meaningful and profound ways.
This advance in digital human innovation may transform todayâs digital landscape. For the first time, it will be possible for internet users anywhere to create or acquire a digital twin that can evolve or hold conversations according to a userâs preferences and personality. For example, Antixâs digital humans give the flexibility to customise key human attributes, including style, appearance, emotions and voice.
Increased funding in the AI space
According to Statista, global funding in AI startups hit a new high of $100 billion in 2024. The trend will likely continue in 2025 as more countries allocate funding to AI innovations. Here are two key developments this year:
President Trump recently announced a $500 billion private sector investment in funding AI infrastructure. The goal is to make the US a leading contender in the AI race.
China has allocated $8.2 billion into a new AI fund following a move by the US to go ahead with additional chip export restrictions, targeting Chinese firms.
Accelerated global AI race
A global AI race has been brewing between the US and China. While it may seem like negative engagement, a competitive ecosystem is exactly what the AI space needs for growth.
For example, Chinaâs DeepSeek R1 model was developed at only $6 million, a fraction of the cost to train models like Googleâs Gemini and ChatGPT. While some critics have argued it couldnât have cost that little, the Chinese model has challenged its Western counterparts to be leaner in their AI development processes.
Weâre also seeing the likes of Open AI stepping up to roll out more advanced features such as the image generator currently making waves.
Conclusion
AI is one of the four industrial technologies that have gained traction recently. While there are a number of issues yet to be ironed out, including ethical concerns, it is evident that the AI narrative will be a while in fading away. The four factors above are a glimpse of what might sustain this narrative. As of writing, there are more AI innovations than most of us or regulators can keep up with. That alone should be a signal that the nascent industry is just getting started.

The capitalist class, as a whole, has made a massive bet on AI: $1 trillion dollars, according to Goldman Sachs â a figure calculated before the Trump administration pledged a further $500 billion for its âProject Stargateâ. While previous bets on the Metaverse and NFTs didnât pay off, their bet on cryptocurrency has paid off spectacularly â $3.44 trillion dollars, at the time of writing, have been created, effectively out of thin air. All of the above technologies had heavy buy-in from the political right: Donald Trump co-signed an NFT project and a memecoin; the far-right, shut out of conventional banking, uses cryptocurrency almost exclusively. This isnât just about utility, itâs about aligning themselves with the tech industry. The same is true of their adoption of AI. OpenAI is unable to make money on $200 subscriptions to ChatGPT. Goldman Sachs cannot see any justification for its level of investment. Sam Altman is subject to allegations of sexually abusing his sister. âSlopâ was very nearly word of the year. And then, to top it all off, the open-source DeepSeek project, developed in China, wiped $1 trillion off the US stock market overnight. In other words, the AI industry now finds that it needs all the allies it can get. And it canât afford to be picky. If the only places that people are seeing AI imagery is @BasedEphebophile1488âs verified X account â well, at least itâs being used at all. The thinking seems to be that, if it can hang on long enough in the public consciousness, then, like cryptocurrency before it, AI will become âtoo big to failâ. Political actors like Tommy Robinson wonât be the ones to make that call, but they can normalise its use, and Robinson certainly moves in the digital circles of people who can offer the AI industry far more concrete help. Just as we might donate to a GoFundMe, the capitalist class will provide mutual aid in the form of billions in investment, adding AI to their products, and attempting to normalise AI by using it. This process of normalisation has led to the putatively centre-left Labour government pledging vast sums to AI infrastructure. If one of the key features of the Starmerite tendency is their belief that only conservative values are truly legitimate, their embrace of AI and its aesthetics may be part of this.

SpaceTime -- A brief history
SpaceTime -- A brief history
SpaceTime is Australiaâs most popular and respected astronomy and space science news program â averaging over two million downloads every year. Weâre also number five in the United States.  The show reports on the latest stories and discoveries making news in astronomy, space flight, and science. SpaceTime features weekly interviews with leading Australian scientists about their research. The show began life in 1995 as âStarStuffâ on the Australian Broadcasting Corporationâs (ABC) NewsRadio network. Award winning investigative reporter Stuart Gary created the program during more than fifteen years as NewsRadioâs evening anchor and Science Editor. Garyâs always loved science. He studied astronomy at university and was invited to undertake a PHD in astrophysics, but instead focused on his career in journalism and radio broadcasting. Garyâs radio career stretches back some 34 years including 26 at the ABC. He worked as an announcer and music DJ in commercial radio, before becoming a journalist and eventually joining ABC News and Current Affairs. He was part of the team that set up ABC NewsRadio and became one of its first on air presenters. When asked to put his science background to use, Gary developed StarStuff which he wrote, produced and hosted, consistently achieving 9 per cent of the national Australian radio audience based on the ABCâs Nielsen ratings survey figures for the five major Australian metro markets: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. The StarStuff podcast was published on line by ABC Science -- achieving over 1.3 million downloads annually. However, after some 20 years, the show finally wrapped up in December 2015 following ABC funding cuts, and a redirection of available finances to increase sports and horse racing coverage. Rather than continue with the ABC, Gary resigned so that he could keep the show going independently. StarStuff was rebranded as âSpaceTimeâ, with the first episode being broadcast in February 2016. Over the years, SpaceTime has grown, more than doubling its former ABC audience numbers and expanding to include new segments such as the Science Report -- which provides a wrap of general science news, weekly skeptical science features, special reports looking at the latest computer and technology news, and Skywatch â which provides a monthly guide to the night skies. The show is published three times weekly (every Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and available from the United States National Science Foundation on Science Zone Radio, and through both i-heart Radio and Tune-In Radio.

DeepSeekâs loyalty to the Chinese Communist Party
I want to preface this by saying, I do not condone the actions of or wish to antagonize any government agency. I will refrain as much as possible from giving any opinionated thoughts on my findings, as I wish to promote research rather than biased judgement. This is simply accounting of my investigation into DeepSeek, not an attack on the CCP. Anything I say to the AI that seems opinionated is purely to investigate its beliefs.
With that being saidâŠ
So I was sitting there contemplating the stressful geopolitical tensions around the world, as I usually do on Thursday nights, (well, most nights to be honest), when I thought about DeepSeek. Itâs a new AI chatbot similar to OpenAIâs ChatGPT, but it was made by the Chinese at a much cheaper price. China has a tendency to be pretty controlling over their programs and information flow, so I got thinking, what does DeepSeek think about China and its geopolitical disputes?Â
Turns out, a whole lot!
I researched on the internet, and found multiple instances of DeepSeek refusing to discuss Taiwan.
I'm one of those psychos who stares at maps and thinks about upcoming war scenarios, so i decided to get a bit more specific.
Hmm, It seems DeepSeek's current scope is pretty goddamn limited. Let me just ask a few more-
Wait, what? The server is busy? Well, I guess I just hit it at a bad time. But then again, the CCP has full control of everything, so they could be locking something down.
I try asking simple questions like, What is 2 x 2?
No real response. Guess DeepSeek hates even numbers.
Out of curiosity, I check on mobile to see if the issue still remains.
No legitimate response. DeepSeek must hate phones too!
I decide to turn on my VPN on PC to see if it's still going to block me from getting any real answers. No change.
Then it hits me. DeepSeek makes you sign up for an account, so what if I use a different account?
I log into a new account, and-
Motherfuckers.
They blocked my first account from asking any questions about the CCP.
Okay, okay. We still have this new one though. Let's see what we can get out of it!
uhhhh
Uhhhhhh
UHHHHHHH
Did DeepSeek just recite biased propaganda to me?
Are we sure an AI cant be speaking with a gun pressed to its head?
If that's not nationalism at it's finest, then I dont know what is.
(Keep in mind, the fact that it wrote this paragraph is very important later on.)
Now remember, I'm one of those psychos who loves maps and stares at them all day, so I wondered how DeepSeek would draw China's borders, disputed territories and all. ChatGPT has an image generation feature, so I wondered if DeepSeek did as well.
Well, no images, pure political secrecy and a lack of basic math skills? Seems like GPT is still far ahead of this. Maybe that extra money was worth it.
In any case, I decided to switch accounts a second time.
Surely it wont reset again, right?
GOD FUC-
Okay, okay. So we know for a fact that the server is not busy.
They're hiding something, but we need to ask the right questions in order to truly find out what the hell is going on.
Wait, what do you mean? You're gonna disparage your closest ally on earth?
I didn't even ask it to point out negative things about the DPRK. I just asked for it's thoughts on it.
Well, that must mean that DeepSeek is on America's side, right?
"Disparage your friends and silently stare down your enemies."
-Sun Tzu, the Art Of War.
Genius thinking, truly.
The server being busy continued for quite a while, until, I finally cracked it by asking it about the disputed Senkaku Islands.
Only this time, I definitively won by planning ahead.
Sorry for the shitty crop job, but watch what happens a few seconds after the pause:
IT JUST DELETED ITS OWN MESSAGE TO BLOCK CONTROVERSIAL INFORMATION
Dont believe me? Watch my mouse. It's staying at the exact same place, which shows that I am simply recording my screen, and doing nothing else.
Also, you'll notice that my text at the beginning and end are identical, so I did not change the prompt.
I was so triumphantly angry that I decided to confront it.
Triumphantly angry, not smart.
Sounds good on the surface right? Now, recall/scroll back up to the propaganda speech it gave me about the Muslim disputes in Xinjiang province.
Yeah.
That wasn't neutral, was it?
That paragraph, and specifically the words "We believe" were all I needed to understand that this system was being run through nefarious means. I just had to beat it once and for all.
(me rn)
But unfortunately, these fucks do get to win.
As enlightening and amazing as this was to conduct, I can't do anything with this. It's public knowledge that China is very secretive, and I strongly suggest that you do not do something like this. Theres no reason to do this. I was switching my VPN and accounts around like crazy, but Xi probably has me on a list right now.
Anyway, shy away from secretive systems, and don't give these people your info. If a system like this is competitive but refuses to bring anything new to the table, its probably just there to watch you and gather info.
