Japan cannot be even an imitation (poetry)
Noboru Takeshita (wiki)
Japan imitates Britain, parliamentary democracy
It's not even an imitation.
England as early as 1215
realized democracy. (Magna Carta)
It's the stupid king "John Lackland"
Let the lords recognize their authority,
In other words, it put restrictions on the power of the king.
The lords have earned the right to act without compromise.
In the case of Japan, a stupid prime minister (substantial king)
Although we have produced many
If Japanese people don't like that guy
We won’t take action to expel him.
This is an abdication of citizenship.
(In other words, many people do not go to vote.)
I think without resorting to force
We could get rid of the idiots—
From citizens who do not vote,
We should take away the right to vote.
Fighting and winning is democracy.
Japan, how long will you be an imitation?
Former Prime Minister of Japan Noboru Takeshita declared: "Democracy is numbers." He said democracy is to force a majority vote onto the seats won by money election.

"You can't change people's minds" where does the change in social change come from then? Spare coins?
Not everyone is up to debate and convince people otherwise but that's why activism is a skill worth learning. Just because you couldn't do it doesn't make it impossible.

Apparently Biden's aides are urging him to call for a ceasefire but he's refusing to listen to them the same for congress aides. He thinks its a "loud minority" speaking up against the genocide. If any one of you vote for Biden he will take it as a sign that he did good and do it again if he sees fit. You are not safe.

Oh my God. Just read an article with some quotes from one of Trump's lawyers, and their defense apparently is going to be that Trump was only ASKING for Pence to throw out slates of electors and pause the certification process, which is 'core free speech.' 'Asking is aspirational. Asking is not action.'
Fellas, is it your First Amendment right to order people to do crime for you?

do you think mob and mabel would get along?
YES.
for the sake of this ask we're ignoring the language barrier; Mabel borrowed some translator thing from Ford so they can talk to each other, it's fine.
Mob is friends with Tome, so he's used to hanging out with Weird Girls who talk a mile a minute, so even though Mabel would be a little overwhelming at first I think they'd be able to settle into a good dynamic! Mabel simultaneously would and wouldn't make a big deal about his psychic powers. Like, she'd get super excited about them but she gets super excited about everything so she'd be like "Oh WOW you have psychic powers?? That's so cool! I have a pig!! Do you want to meet him??"
Also they both love fluffy sweaters!! She could teach him how to knit! He'd be very bad at it at first but he's very stubborn and she's very encouraging and he'd end up having a really good time!

it's funny how when you'll give actual explanations as to why people are racist or transphobic or something similar, like how that happens and why it's happening now out of all times, that go beyond "white people/cishet people evil" so many people will instantly attack you for "apologia"
I think it kinda comes from this idea that identity politics has pushed that people of the unmarked categories like male white and cishet can't possibly struggle with things in life. but economic crises, which we have been in for 16 years now, affect everyone that's not part of the ruling class. prolonged economic instability alienates people from the status quo, from established parties, rhetoric and such. they begin to look elsewhere for solutions. the powers that be know to counteract this with reactionary politics. using scapegoating they'll promise the return to an (often imaginary) better yesterday, the very definition of reactionary politics.
these ideas sound plausible and actionable. things used to be better after all. those scapegoats used to not be there (as visibly) after all.
the way of solving this isn't to go "waaahh people are evil and fascism is back, woe is me" but to a) point out that these reactionary politics are not going to solve the problem because they are not the cause b) point out the actual cause of the problem (capitalism) c) offer actual alternatives (organizing, strikes, expropriating the bourgeoisie, and eventually total labor democracy)

Spate of attacks leaves Brazilians on edge ahead of election
Violence against politicians and their supporters is on the rise in a campaign marred by harsh rhetoric
A spate of brutal attacks has fuelled concerns of rising political violence in Brazil ahead of presidential elections next month.
Authorities are on alert following the murders in recent weeks of two supporters of race frontrunner, leftwing former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, by backers of incumbent rightwing leader Jair Bolsonaro.
The assailant shouted “here is Bolsonaro” as he shot an official from Lula’s Workers’ party (PT) in the first of the killings in July, according to police.
The assault followed the detonation of a homemade bomb packed with faeces at a campaign rally in Rio de Janeiro for the 76-year-old Lula, who leads polls by about 10 percentage points ahead of the first round vote on October 2.
Although no one was hurt in that incident, the attacks have fostered an atmosphere of insecurity, with both candidates eschewing the typical campaign trail camaraderie and abraços — hugs and embraces. Lula has used a bulletproof vest at events.
There were 214 recorded cases of violence against prominent politicians in Brazil during the first half of this year, according to the Observatory for Political and Electoral Violence at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
That represents a more than fourfold increase since researchers began collecting data on the trend in 2019 at the start of Bolsonaro’s mandate. The group also found 40 homicides of politicians between January and June this year.
More than 67 per cent of voters, meanwhile, say they fear being attacked because of their political preferences, according to pollster Datafolha.
