Okay but-
am I the only one who thinks that a young Caleb/Kanan looks like Grey and Depa's secret love child ?
This is young Caleb/ Kanan :
And these are Grey and Depa :
Here they are all next to eachother :
Caleb's got Depa's eye shape and Grey's skintone. He also has matching black hair to the two adults and a similar (if not the same) hair texture as Grey. EVEN HIS NOSE LOOKS LIKE A SMALLER VERSION OF GREY'S !!!! The only thing tha's rly diffrent between the three is that Caleb has blue eyes. But I'm like- 50% sure that Jango Fett had a sister in some comic with blue eyes/a lighter eyecolour. (Let's all be glad that Grey and Depa can't be Caleb's bio parents due to general timeline reasons, otherwise the GAR might have had an actual scandal on their hands)
#star wars#kanan jarrus#caleb dume#commander grey#depa billaba#this ofc still sparks a major inside joke in the GAR#Grey hates it#Depa thinks it's funny#Caleb has no idea that it's even a thing#It does not help at all that Grey behaves like the ultimate Dad

Time Travel is my favourite trope and I think we need more fics where both Obi-Wan AND Qui-Gon time travel together because no matter when they get sent it's chaos. They're saving the galaxy and being physic flash-bangs to everyone around them.
like before Bandomeer?
The entire council is baffled to watch as Qui-Gon 'never taking a padawan again' Jinn has suddenly cut off his post-Xanatos depression tour to return to the temple and beeline to the creche with a frantic energy. His wild eyes immediately single out a fluffy, red-haired initiate.
"You." he exhales with a pointed finger, slightly ominous as he towers over the child. Said child starts vibrating with delight. "Me." he agrees, launching himself at the man. Qui-Gon drops to his knees with a thud that cannot be healthy. Obi-Wan's attempts to clamber into Qui-Gon's robes and maybe onto his shoulders is thwarted by the fact that Qui-Gon's massive hands are cupping Obi-Wan's tiny squishy cheeks. He stares at the initiate for a few minutes with an intensity that is starting to worry people.
Finally, "You're so small." Qui-Gon sounds like he might cry.
'What the fuck?' Plo Koon projects at Mace.
"I'm 9! That tends to be the case!" the child chirps back.
"You're nine." Oh. Ah. Qui-Gon's eyes are distinctively misty. He squishes the boy in a hug so hard he squeaks. Mace makes a series of gestures that imply the need for a head-scan. Depa obligingly drifts off towards the halls. Qui-Gon scoops the child up onto his hip and claims him as his padawan on the spot. The assorted council members and creche-masters burst into noise. Mace tells Depa to bring some space ibuprofen as well.
after Naboo?
Anakin is a little apprehensive of his place in both the order and Obi-Wan's life, but then one day Obi-Wan wakes up and is suddenly a lot less sad in the force?? In fact, if Anakin didn't know better he'd say he was almost giddy, but he's watched Obi-Wan try to pretend his world hasn't fallen apart for the past few months so it can't be that, right? And um, Miss Bant? He knows grief is a funny thing that affects people differently but he's pretty sure 'massive mood swing' and 'having full conversations with invisible people' is not...great? and you said to tell you if Obi-Wan got really weird in any way.
Anyway after a lot of medical exams, intense consultation with the archives, and a couple exorcisms, Anakin ends up being raised by his 'real' master and his ghost master. He is far more well adjusted emotionally and far less well adjusted for what counts as normal people behavior(not talking to thin air). When questioned on this, all he ever says is that he's talking to Qui-Gon. Isn't he...dead? Well, yes. Wait, he's a ghost? Ghosts are real? ...Well this ghost is real.
This starts a great number of existential crises among non-force sensitives and incredibly heated theological arguments amongst the Jedi. Whenever Obi-Wan is questioned on this, all he ever says is some variation of "the force got to know him for 5 seconds and kicked him back out." Mace backs him up on this even though that reasoning is technically blasphemous. Qui-Gon is having the time of his un-life. He's ascended to his final form, his sheer existence is a heresy, this is truly all he has ever aspired towards.
the Clone Wars?
The minute they get dropped back Qui-Gon immediately goes and haunts the shit out of Dooku. They have a signed terms of surrender and promise of info on the Sith Lord within the year. Only half of it is because Qui-Gon's giving Dooku complexes that are only perceptible to shrimp, the other half is because they now have a ghost spy that is not bound by the laws of physics nor spacetime.
Obi-Wan only nominally pays attention to this as he immediately goes and implements his 19 step seduction plan with Cody (he had to focus on something on Tatooine to pass the time). It fails. Spectacularly. Publicly. Ah right. Tatooine was not exactly the height of his sanity. Everyone in the GAR and temple is now riveted by High General and Councilor Obi-Wan Kenobi's attempts to go on a date with his Commander, who bats him away him like a particularly annoying stray and seems one bouquet of cactus away from committing mutiny. Anakin is worrying if it means his master knows about his secret marriage and this is some sort of really weird power play. (It is, but not in the way he thinks)
The next time Dooku goes after Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon spends a good few months appearing tear-stained at the edge of Dooku's perception and only communicating in terrible wails and discordant mutterings of 'padawan. my padawan. my little one.' 24/7.
"Wait, you're annoying Dooku into surrendering?"
"Oh no Anakin, we're crushing his psyche like a bug. :)"
#everyone feel free to use these i crave more time travel fics#the sheer power qui gon would have as a fully communicating force ghost before and during the clone wars is astounding#qui gon with baby obi wan is like inconsolable sobs cause he never saw him this small and then his life was so sad and he couldnt even hug#him on tatooine but now look at his boy!!! so small and huggable!!!!#they absolutely weaponise baby obi against others his wet cat eyes are 1000% stronger now#they drop him in dookus lap like look grandpadawan:)#if you hold the grandpadawan maybe your sith behaviour will calm down :/#anyway them together is like they throw enough bullshit into the air to blind everyone while they speedrun important changes in the back#after naboo is like everyone offering obi wan condolences and obi responding yeah im going to need them the fucker wont stay down#star wars#obi wan kenobi#qui gon jinn#qui gon and obi wan#fic ideas#time travel shenanigans#codywan#anakin skywalker#disaster lineage#count dooku

Loud.
part one two three four five
“Why are you buttering me up, Master?” Obi-Wan signs, taking another careful sip of the cookie shake.
Master Tholme unfolds his hands on the table, cane resting against his leg. “Because I understand that you might not want to participate in this mission,” he signs back. It must be one of those days where he doesn’t want to talk. Obi-Wan understands and lets the silence engulf them. “But the Council and I feel that this is where you need to be.”
.
“Master,” Obi-Wan signs and bows.
“Hello, Obi-Wan.”
It’s not the first time he’s seen Qui-Gon again after Melidaan’s parting gift almost killed him. Of course they’ve seen each other. Qui-Gon had been there for him while he recovered, had hovered over Master Tholme’s shoulder like a shadow.
“A particularly annoying shadow,” Master Tholme had commented drily back then. “Which is funny, considering.“
Obi-Wan opens his arms and Qui-Gon’s tall frame closes around him. Maybe a queezing too tight but… but that doesn’t matter. “How are you,” he taps on a broad shoulder.
He’s abruptly let go. Not pushed back, thankfully.
“I am well, thank you.” Qui-Gon falls silent.
Obi-Wan has forced himself to stop trying to make the awkwardness between them less uncomfortable by the time he turned sixteen and Master Tholme sat him down to explain why he should let Qui-Gon come to grips with everything that has happened between them on his own until Qui-Gon reaches out to him.
“How are you?” And the caring and heartbreak lingering in Qui-Gon’s eyes is too much.
“I feel prepared to accompany you on this mission.”
It had been Qui-Gon who had taught him sign language in different iterations useful across the galaxy, before and later. Tholme has taught him tap code, after.
“Then let’s not waste any time,” Qui-Gon says, eyes on his long padawan braid.
.
Meeting Anakin feels… weird in the Force.
“So you don’t talk? Ever?”
Obi-Wan shakes his head, amusement crinkling his eyes.
“You don’t want to or you can’t?” the boy asks before his eyes widen. “Both are fine!”
“Cannot,” he signs carefully, settling on an Outer Rim dialect.
“Oh, ok!”
It’s the beginning of a never ending nightmare. Tatooine. Naboo. The desperate attempts to stop a war from happening.
He keeps to the background, inconspicuous and invisible.
Which is the only reason he ends up in the plasma refinery complex.
.
“It’ll be alright, little one,” Qui-Gon murmurs, gentle fingers wiping tears away before they reach the mask. “Just squeeze my hand.”
“Master,” he taps, hiccups threatening to disrupt something in his throat.
“Take care of the boy.”
.
So he does.
He brings Anakin back to the Temple, watches over his nightmares in silence.
He kneels as Master Tholme cuts his braid.
He explains to the Council what he thinks.
Anakin is bright. Smart and a beacon in the Force. He’s older than usual, granted. But his connection to the Force is palpably vast and potentially dangerous if he isn’t trained to handle that connection. He’s safer in the Temple where they can watch over him and teach him.
The Council agrees.
.
He introduces Anakin to Depa.
Her dry wit has the boy relaxing. Her no-nonsense attitude is a guiding light, a steady framework he can lean on and count on.
Depa delights in showing him the Temple, the opportunities to learn and try out new experiences.
.
Shadow work piles up and suddenly Obi-Wan is running around the galaxy trying to put out fires.
When he’s slumped in the back door of an abandoned factory in the shady part of an Outer Rim planet, struggling to breathe and feeling like he’s dying, lightsaber in a death grip, he makes the decision to return to the Temple. The mask has to change or he will die because he is out of breath. Unacceptable.
The technicians look at him chagrined and apologetic, explain that this is all they can do at the moment, maybe he can take it a bit easier?
“No, you need to adjust the valves on—“ a small voice peeps up from behind his shoulder.
Obi-Wan has been aware Anakin is clinging to his back like a monkey bear. He’s ignored the looks he’s gotten on the way to the tech complex.
“Have at it, then,” he signs.
Anakin looks at him like he’s personally chosen every star in the galaxy as he hands over the mask.
.
“An order.”
“A strong suggestion,” Mace corrects.
“Call it what it is,” Obi-Wan signs, cutting through the air with his hands he’s so furious. “Chancellor Palpatine has no business wanting to spend time with Anakin.”
Mace sighs, leans back in the chair. “I’m aware, Obi-Wan.” He taps his fingers against the armrest but he’s releasing energy, focusing his thoughts, not code. “How are you feeling?”
The renewed esophagus has him out of the mission count for a bit yet, he’s slowly weaned off the artificial nutrition. Overall, he’s starting to feel a bit restless.
“Perhaps you want to enjoy Coruscant’s scenery while you’re here?” Mace asks, a twinkle in his eye. “Though I beg you to not get into trouble,” he adds with a frown. “Too much trouble, I mean. I forgot for a second who I was talking to.”
Spying on the Chancellor is not on Bant’s list of approved activities but what she doesn’t know…
Obi-Wan touches his chin and brings his hand forward.
.
“So you can either sign in the dark or write tap code with these gloves. You can adjust the brightness and still sneak around.”
“Thank you, Ani.” It’s one of the best gifts he’s ever had the honor of receiving. It solves a lot of problems on missions. He hugs the boy close and feels swept up in the thoughtfulness. “I don’t sneak.”
“You totally do and it’s so wizard!”
.
“You were supposed to be my Master!”

Yk one thing I barely see talked abt is the fact that Mace Windu's lineage and thus legacy is one of the longest Order 66 surviving ones in Star Wars WHO STAYED TRUE TO THE JEDI ORDER'S PRINCIPLES.
Like damn, Mace rly managed to establish a liniage of highly competent and compasionate Jedi. The Shatterpoint Lineage either outlasted or survived for nearly as long as the Disaster Liniage who pretty obviously stopped truly representing Jedi with Obi-Wan (only rly returninh to the true jedi way with Luke if ya see him as part of that lineage)
Like- who do we have in the Shatterpoint lineage ?
-Master of the Jedi Order , died trying to save the galaxy from the Sith
-Former council member, died saving her padawan from her brainwashed men
-Rebel Jedi training a student despite everything that went down , died saving his padawan & loved ones from a giant explosion
-THE GUY LITTERALY ABLE TO GET THE CHANCE TO FORCE TIME-TRAVEL WHO SEND HIMSELF INTO EXILE TO PROTECT THOSE HE LOVES & THE GALAXY
And who do we have in the Disaster Lineage :
-Guy with questionable methods who did his best
-OBI-WAN who rly doesn't need any explanation (who's also the last true Jedi with expection of Luke (if you counf him) to come out of this lineage)
-a genocial manbaby with an alergy for any sort of moral code or basic logic
-a pick me shitting on her own adoptive family, who isn't even a Jedi if we are being honest (sry Ahsoka, but your character to assasinated to a point where I just can't anymore)
And honestly ? It says a LOT that Mace Windu's lineage stands as pretty much last bastion of a true Jedi Lineage from the old Order.
Agreed 100%
And ngl I find it so funny that people constantly praise the Shatterpoint lineage- (Depa, Kanan, Ezra) -and then shit on Mace like, my dude, WHO DO YOU THINK TAUGHT DEPA AND PASSED ON THOSE VALUES TO HER AND THEREFORE HIS LINEAGE???
But no, Mace's lineage is by far the best imo---I love Obi-Wan and Luke and Yoda, but they get negative points for having not one but TWO genocidal fascists in the lineage- (Dooku and Anakin) -and then someone who thinks the Jedi brought on their own genocide- (Ahsoka) -and then someone who decided that the fate of the galaxy was less important than her feelings and probably kickstarted another war- (Sabine, apparently, since Felony shoe-horned her into the lineage).
Meanwhile the Shatterpoint lineage has the head of the Order who almost won the Clone Wars and stopped the Empire from being created, who only failed because he was betrayed- (Mace) -then an amazing and empathetic general who was literally so selfless that she sacrificed herself to save her padawan- (Depa) -then someone who fought against the Empire, successfully overcame his own issues to both train a padawan and then forgive those who he thought willingly murdered his family, and then sacrificed himself to save his family and give the Rebellion a leg up on the Empire for the Battle of Lothal- (Kanan) -and finally someone who let go of all his grief, rejected the Dark Side SEVERAL TIMES, and then sentenced himself to a life in exile to protect the galaxy from a genocidal fascist- (Ezra).
Like...there's really no competition here.
In the Imperial Era, Mace was probably sitting back as a Force-ghost, watching the Disaster lineage fuck up the galaxy and then have to fix it all over again, smugly staring down Obi-Wan and Yoda like-
Mace, smugly: Hm, did you know that today Kanan taught Ezra how to connect with animals? I'm so proud of them.
Obi-Wan, watching Anakin commit even more mass murder and Ahsoka blame the Jedi for Anakin's actions: Must be nice.
Yoda, staring down Dooku, who literally tried to take over the whole galaxy with a fascist regime: Yes. Nice, it must be.

So originally I was gonna do 3, but this one got REALLY long, sooo....
May I present the Jedi Get Hitched AU?
I posted about it once before here (and it got FANART!!!!) but other than that I haven't said much of anything else, soooo... here's more! and it's ENORMOUSLY self-indulgent.
The basic premise of the AU is that the clone wars end happily except the clones don't have rights but the Jedi find a loophole that will make them recognized as sentient citizens if one of them marries a Jedi, cue Aayla kicking open the door to the jedi council with bly in tow like I VOLUNTEER
ANYWAY. bly and aayla get married (they both freak out about it and Fox and Quinlan respectively have to give them pep talks before the wedding.) All seems well... and then Anakin saunters into the Jedi Council room one day and brings up that now that they're getting married (it was a one time thing, skywalker--) NOW THAT THEY'RE GETTING MARRIED, maybe they should consider that perhaps it would lower political tensions if a Jedi married, like, a senator or a planetary ruler or something. and the council is all like 🙄 skywalker we know this is just about you and senator amidala and he's like what??? haha no, i was talking about obi-wan and duchess satine. but while we're on the topic, i could definitely marry senator amidala too. she just adopted those twins and i could help raise them. they're force-sensitive, what a crazy coincidence amiright?? and plo and shaak are just lowkey planning their wedding and subsequent adoption of All Their Sons and mace. mace wants a break. please.
fast forward in time. Several more jedi have gotten married. Mace has retired from the council, citing "an excess of tomfoolery and nuptials" as his reason. Anakin married Padme, Obi-Wan married Satine and they officially adopted Korkie as their son, and Quinlan Vos and Asajj Ventress got married. Vostress is also currently running a jedi-nightsister exchange student program...
...which is how Merrin, 16 and slightly awkward but eager to learn more, ends up in the Jedi Temple, with a few other Nightsisters, though they're all a few years younger than her. Cal is assigned to give them the tour.
"Welcome to the Jedi Temple!" he says, holding one hand out to her and the other hand waving around them, indicating basically the whole jedi temple. it's supposed to be just a gesture, but then Merrin puts her hand in his. Completely seriously. Cal is like "...okay" and they hold hands for the rest of the tour.
Five years later, there is a second jedi-nightsister wedding.
Jocasta is delighted at the number of records being set within her lifetime.
(Jocasta is also officiating all the weddings, btw.)
A couple years after Mace resigns from the council, he decides to plan a shatterpoint lineage family vacation. So Mace, Depa, Grey (who is an unofficial part of their family), Caleb, and Caleb's brand-new Padawan, 11-year-old Ezra (who is pretty young to be a padawan, but he was following caleb around all the time anyway so caleb figured he might as well just make the apprenticeship official), all pack up... and go to Ryloth.
Caleb, who twenty-five at this point, promptly gets his first crush.
Mace Regrets This Vacation. He's actually started seeing marriage Shatterpoints. Depa and Grey, meanwhile, think it's really really funny that Caleb gets flustered around Hera, and Ezra has made more than a few insinuations about political alliances via marriage. Depa warns him that Caleb will get his revenge, but Ezra dismisses it. (Said revenge does come about, several years later, in the form of Caleb asking if Madame Nu needs to prepare to officiate the second Jedi-Mandalorian marriage in recorded history. Ezra kicks him in the shin. smh padawans these days just have NO respect for their masters.)
Ezra highly encourages Caleb to marry Hera.
It does not take much convincing.
#Thank you for the ask!!#Jedi Get Hitched AU#blyla#anidala#obitine#vostress#merrical#kanera#and kinda minor lowkey#sabezra#jessica's writing nonsense

What's funny is that Padawan's Pride is, like, the third(?) time Disney has sent Obi-Wan & Anakin off on their 'first' mission together lol
Narratively, I think the themes it explores work quite well as a sort of prequel to the Obi-Wan & Anakin comic. I'd love it if they gave us a whole series of these short tales of this era of their relationship. And another series of Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan too! I didn't enjoy the Master & Apprentice novel as much as I hoped I would and I want more stuff for them, stuff that's lighthearted and fun like this book.
Hi! I've been struggling with this a bit--because you're not the first one I've seen say Padawan's Pride was their first mission, but I can't recall anything in the book (tbf I'm only an hour and a half in, it's slow going when I'm transcribing the scenes I want to yell about) that says it was their first? The Age of Republic: Obi-Wan Kenobi comic definitely made a point of how "it was time" to let Anakin come along with him on a mission, but we don't have a date for when that's set, it's entirely possible that it was set before Padawan's Pride. And I'm trying to think, was there a line in in the Obi-Wan & Anakin comic that said it was their first mission together? So, I've been thinking of the order as: Age of Republic: Obi-Wan Kenobi --> Padawan's Pride --> Obi-Wan & Anakin, where they're all very early in their time together, but the Age of Republic comic was the actual 'first' mission, am I forgetting something? (In fairness, I'm due for a reread of the Obi-Wan & Anakin comic, I suspect!) I agree, I'd love to see more short stories like this one, along the lines of the Jedi Quest/Jedi Apprentice series, but ones that would fit better with the current Star Wars, I would really love a series not just focused on the main characters, but also other Jedi--tell me about Aayla Secura's first mission! Tell me about Barriss' first mission! Tell me about Mace's first mission! Tell me about Depa's first mission! Tell me about Rig Nema's first mission! Tell me about Shaak Ti's first mission! I mean, I do want more from Obi-Wan's time as a Padawan (and the Obi-Wan comic's first issue was a really good one and the Padawan book was also excellent!), because I didn't care for M&A as a book about Obi-Wan (it was really a book about Qui-Gon, rather than about Obi-Wan or Dooku sharing the spotlight), but I'd love this as a chance to really expand the prequels and make it feel like a living world, rather than like huge chunks are missing.

Anakin: Sasa lele, isn't it?
Ahsoka: No, Master. It's sale sale.
Echo: Sasa lele!
Fives: Sasa lele!
Jesse: Sasa lele?
Kix: No, it's Sa, sa, le, le. You need to focus on spacing.
Rex: Commander, I think we are the only sane ones who can spell sale sale collect.
Ahsoka: I guess...
Boil: Sasa lele?
Waxer: Sasa lele?
Cody: It's Sale sale, troopers...
Gregor: It's Sasa lele!
Cody: No it's not
Numa: Sasa lele!
Cody: No
Boil, Waxer: Sasa lele is collect! Genius girl!!
Cody:
Obi-wan: Let's just keep our secret for their little amusement.
Cody: ...If you say so, General.
Obi-wan: It appears that we made something that only two of us will know. :)
Cody: (brushes) ...If you say so...
Bly: It's... Sasa lele?
Aayla: I think it says...
Aayla: ...Sasa lele?
Bly: You think so?
Aayla: I don't know, but my Master often read them as 'Sasa lele'.
Quinlan: Sasa lele
Fox: It's not Sasa lele you idiot. It's Sale sale.
Quinlan: There's no fun of that.
Fox: Just get out of that trashcan already. I need to throw away this caf and if you don't get out already I will just pour this on you.
Boost: Sasa lele!
Sinker: Sasa lele!
Comet: Sasa lele?
Wolffe: You idiots influencing our young brothers with your stupidity. It's Sale sale!
Comet: It's not a Sasa lele?
Boost: Don't listen to him, he is saying just to mock us.
Sinker: Yes, just trust us puppy. It's more funny!
Wolffe: I will bite your asses by myself!
Plo: Ah, they are playfully chasing each other again. :)
Kit: It's Sasa lele, right?
Monnk: No, there's 50% sale of clothes.
Kit(naked): That's heresy.
Ponds: General, why are you hiding in room?
Mace: Many peoples are keep reading that sign as 'Sasa lele' and it increases my headache. I had to hide from them.
Ponds: Okay, can I join you sir?
Mace: Of course. There's some empty chairs and cushions if you want.
Caleb: Sasa lele?
Depa: No, it's actually 'Sale sale', my Padawan.
Gray: Then why did you said Sasa lele before when we are meeting with General Windu?
Depa: I did that on purpose because I wanted to mess with him.
Adi: Our Commander fallen to depression again.
Oppo: What is it again?
Neyo: They are still saying it... It's not Sasa lele... I'm not wrong...
Stass: Oh, Neyo. I think we need to comm Commander Bacara to comfort him.
Adi: No, it will only make it worse. Because...
Jet: It's Sale sale right?
Bacara: ....Not Sasa lele?
Jet: You really think...
Bacara: ...My apology, troopers. In Concord they often read that as Sasa lele.
Jet: It's Sasa lele for now.
Nova corp: Sasa lele!
Ki-Adi: Sasa lele is also right.
Bacara: ....?

The Living Force how dare you be good now
Depa, who just spent the last half of the book being tortured, borrows Mace's lightsaber to go confront her torturer. Grim determined beat-up badass Depa with her Master's purple lightsaber mmmm. The Shatterpoint Lineage vibes in this book are everything.
Also, the baddie, Zilastra, hates Sifo-Dyas SO much, so cartoonishly. At one point, Depa unknowingly misgenders him (actually, it's not the first time I've noticed a Jedi using a universal "she" when speaking of an unknown Jedi's pronouns, I think Dooku does it too in either M&A or DJL?) and Zilastra is like "bitch. HE." But so funny. For like for 30 years she's done an Arya Stark list of just him in her head. I kind of hope she was sending him fucked up anon hate mail at the Jedi Temple and he's shrugging over them like "wow, the messages of doom from the Force are getting oddly weird and specific with it..."
#star wars books#anyway I'm almost done reading it more coherent thoughts soon#kind of ironic this pirate lady hating on Sifo-Dyas when he's literally off screen getting murdered by a different pirate group right now#everybody wants to take a shot at the seer#actually I guess the pyke syndicate are a cartel

Order 69
I want a fic about the clone wars where everything is the same, except the Kaminoans had a small miscommunication and told Palpatine the Jedi kill order was Order 69 instead of Order 66. Instead of trying to kill their Jedi COs, the clone are now trying to seduce them and sleep with them.
Fun little musings for a few legions if you would like
212th
“The time has come Commander. Execute Order 69.”
“It will be done my lord.” Cody slips his helmet off. “Hey General.”
Obi-Wan looks around in confusion as Careless Whisper begins to play from an unknown source
The rest of the battalion watch as Cody quite literally sweeps their Jedi General off his feet and carry him back into the base
None of them have seen Kenobi that red in the face
“Do we need to... do anything? About the order I mean?” A shiny asks
“I think the Commander has it covered.” Boil responds
327th
“Execute order 69″
“Kriffing finally” Bly responds before shutting off his com
Palpatine stares at the dark com device for a few moments. That was unexpected
The Separatists are cleaned out in record time on Felucia, almost entirely by Commander Bly himself
Aayla didn’t think she had every seen her commander so driven by anything, it truly was impressive
No one sees Bly or their General for a long time when they finally get back to camp
104th
Plo Koon is not with the 104th when the order goes out
He is also in a star fighter and by the time he gets back to the ground the battalion he is with is panicking because Plo Koon isn’t their regular General and Wolffe would kill them
By the time Plo returns to his men the issue has been resolved
157th (Billaba’s Legion)
“Execute order 69″
Grey put away his com device before walking towards his general where she was currently talking to Caleb and Clone Force 99
“Well shall we let them do what they-oh!”
Grey wrapped an arm around Depa’s waist and dropped her into a dip before kissing her
Caleb and the whole of Clone Force 99 stared at the two making out infront of them with either horror or confusion
Echo clapped his hand over Caleb’s eyes
“I can still sense it”
“Sorry kid”
332nd
Ahsoka was very confused, one minute Rex was looking more panicked than she had ever seen him, now…
Now he had calmed down considerably and had begun... flirting with her?
She was very weirded out because it definitely sounded like flirting, why her brother was flirting with her was beyond her
Then Jesse, ever the womanizer, had strutted into the com bay and she had been truly disturbed
As soon as she could she escaped her weird brothers and went to look up the file Rex had said, one about Fives
She called both Rex and Jesse to her location and prompt whacked them both on the head before getting their chips out
Both were extremely horrified that they had tried to flirt with their sister and apologized a lot
Now that Ahsoka knew what was happening she found it really kriffing funny
They quickly spread the word about the chips to the rest of the GAR
501st
As soon as Anakin, freshly fallen to the dark side, marched into the hangar where his men were waiting he felt like something was different
He led his COs to the com table to go over their strategy to attack the temple and to cover all entrances
Appo siddled close, leaning forward to trap Vader against the com table with both his arms
Vader’s mind short circuited and lets just say that the march on the jedi temple did not happen
Morning After
Cody wakes up with Obi-Wan sleeping on his chest and his com blinking at him from the side of the cot
What the kriff did Rex mean by control chips?

Dust & Ashanii having to sit and do math hw 😂
Fun fact: Math was always my worst subject—and I hated it more because my parents always signed me up for extracurricular math classes. Maybe Cody should threaten to sign them up for math class next time they be mischievous little gremlins 🤭
Mm. Math. I fell behind in elementary school, when I was like 7, and I stayed fallen behind until I was, like, 11 and was failing math. I'm still so bad at it. I don't know my times tables at all. Multiplying big numbers is easier than multiplying small numbers.
And then, of course, I strongly suspect that I have dyscalculia. One of the biggest signs is a hard time with pattern recognition (i always had to guess when pattern questions were on math tests), difficulty with word problems (I can't turn words into numbers. I just can't.) Reading an analogue clock (I can, but it's not instantly. It takes me about 15 seconds) and differentiating left and right (my husband thinks it's funny, but I have to use my hand to determine which way is left, it's why gps is a life saver.)
ANYWAY
"So, you think that this planet is a good one?" Master Windu asks over the holo as his daze darts between Obi-Wan and Ahsoka and then back again. "I do." Ahsoka agrees, "The force feels weird here in some places, but I think that might actually help us hide." Mace nods slowly, "And your padawan, what does she think?" "She's fine." Ahsoka replies absently. Blue glances at his General, and then clears his throat, drawing the attention of the council, "And by that, she means that the planet can be confusing to young Force Users. Ashanii got lost and wasn't able to use the force to find her way back." "That's concerning-" Mace murmurs, "And she's alright?" "She is now. We pulled a cadet around the same age out here, they're bonding. Hopefully it'll keep her out of trouble while she adjusts." Blue folds his arms, "Other than that, it is a good planet, we just need to mesh the kids together." "How do you mean, Captain?" General Koon asks. "Look, I get that you force types are used to using the Force for every little thing. But it makes you utterly incapable of surviving when you can't use it. Our Cadets can help the kids adapt until they adapt to the planet." "Hm...I think it's a good idea." Depa muses thoughtfully as she taps her lower lip with her knuckles, "We can start merging the cadets with the younglings here, before we move there-" "Send the corps to you, we shall." Master Yoda says, "Begin building shelters, they will." And that's the end of it. The Jedi now have a new base of operations while they fight the war.

I think one of my favorite Star Wars tropes is when a character has just a regular, boring, non-sci-fi name. For one, it's a little amusing to have someone named "Luke" or "Caleb" standing next to someone named "Jabba the Hutt" or "Depa Billaba" and it gives the audience a taste of the mixture of the familiar with the fantastical. There's also the element of making it easier for people to see themselves in the characters and it builds on the theme of "anyone can do exceptional things". But I think there's some untapped potential in where those regular human names come from because it would be really funny if one day they just said "Yeah, Luke is actually short for Lucario" or something along those lines

🍄🧸 for the asks! :)
thanks for the asks!
🍄 mushroom: tell me about your dr family!
Certainly! In terms of biological family... I went the route 99% of shifters go- they're just not around. Being a jedi and all it would be difficult for them to be present in my life anyway, so to make it easier I just don't really know them because I haven't seen them since before I was taken to the order.
There is one exception though and it's a bit of a weird one tied to my other (star wars rebels) DR, which I have had for a looong time. Basically in that DR Ezra Bridger is my (non-biological) brother, yknow grew up together, lived together the whole deal. I faced a great deal of emotional torment when I decided to create my tcw DR, because I felt like I would be "cheating" on rebels by focusing on another DR. A friend of mine helped me realise it was alright to put that DR on the backburner for a little while, and besides I could just script Ezra in my tcw DR with me? So then came the epiphany I literally could just bring Ezra with me to my new DR, and that was genuinely really comforting and made me feel a lot better about my decision to make the tcw DR.
Anyway boring backstory aside, there is one exception and it's Ezra. The only difference is that in my tcw DR he's my second cousin (and my padawan!!) cause I thought it would be reeeally funny if I was just randomly assigned a padawan that coincidentally had the same last name as me, thinking there was no relation, until one day obi wan goes digging in the jedi archives or something and finds out oh shit! you guys are cousins fr!
Someone: *reading off a report* General Bridger and.... Commander... Bridger? Is that like your son or something?
Ezra and I, at the same time: we are NOT related!!!
Obi wan: ...😶
So that covers the biological side... but I know you're really here for the found family bit. I'd say that I consider just about everyone family, especially all the clones, but I'll rattle off a few really significant people quickly.
My old master Depa is for sure the mother figure in my life. And yes she's still keeping me in check even after I've long passed my trials and officially gotten out of her hair in the eyes of the Order. By extension, Caleb (Kanan) is someone I'd consider like a half-brother and don't worry, I make sure he and Ezra get to hang out a lot.
Obviously growing up with Anakin I'd consider him family too, and that means Obi Wan on some level as well. To me Obi Wan is kind of like a wine aunt. Will not be elaborating further. Ahsoka feels like a niece.
Despite legally becoming my brother-in-laws at some point, I do consider a lot of the clones to be either very close friends or some kind of familial figure I can't really place. Naturally some are closer to me than others such as Rex and the 501st or the Bad Batch, but I think I bond with them all pretty well.
Tech of course holds the most special place in my heart as my future husband.
...I think that covers it...
🧸 teddy: do you have a favourite childhood memory from your dr?
This one actually had me stumped for a while. I honestly, genuinely have not thought about my life before the war too much, certainly not as a child really. If I had a favourite memory of anything from my childhood it would be a toss up between:
When I was a brand new admission to the Order and didn't really know anyone or even my place in it all, I would spend most of my time in the temple library/archives. The lovely librarian Jocasta Nu was super kind to me, and I continued to spend time in there over the years and even kind of wanted to work within that area because of her kindness. Turned out not to be as I got assigned to the war instead, but the memory is still pleasant.
OR
The early days when I was chosen as Depa's padawan. Getting to know her and what she stands for and learning from her and meditating together is just such a nice bonding activity. She's super supportive and a very grounded teacher, and I think my eyes would have been sparkling watching her do all these cool things and then receiving her guidance on these same things until I was able to master them myself. Just so cool. I think she's a great jedi and a great teacher too.
And there you have it! my essay responses to your asks! hope you've enjoyed and thanks again for the submission!

Just discovered ur post o66 au im literally so so obsessed have you got any other headcanons or notes?? I literally want to know everything about this au haha
Tbh this is possibly the most self indulgent of my aus. The other ones I'm like Woah wouldn't this be funny/interesting/neat? And this one I'm like. This is something I need in existence. I'm so glad it also makes other people mildly unhinged :)
So! I know I said in the tags of one post but here are the species for the characters I've figured out so far and mild backstories for them! I have a weird half-baked part in my drafts but ehhh that's for later.
Robin-- she's actually Zelosian, a human-passing sentient plant people. Essentially blind at night, chlorophyll for blood, and bright green eyes. She was the grand-padawan of the master Archivist Jocasta Nu (whom she bragged made far superior tea than Steve's great-Grandmaster, which could be said for nearly anyone in the temple), and enjoyed the anthropological media studies. During the Clone wars she and her as yet unnamed master assisted affected planets with knowledge and artifact preservation. They were not permanently assigned to a squadron of Clones as they were frequently in the temple etc. In her youth, she was assigned a mission to assist a planet's heir (Nancy) in documenting culturally significant places/artifacts that were under threat from extreme modernists. They ended up on the run and falling in love, a brief but passionate affair. With differing opinions on their responsibilities and duties to each other, themselves, and their peoples, they did not continue the romantic aspect of their relationship. At the time, Robin was figuring out where she wanted to be within the order, leaving her family and culture (and Steve) was never an option, while Nancy wanted to run away together, at least for a little while. They remained occasional penpals.
Steve-- he's Balosar (near-human with antennapalps on his head that assist in sensing vibrations(?) And can tuck into his scalp, as seen as the death-stick dealer in AotC) and was born on Corellia. (This is because I want him to have bloodstripes. I debated making Robin Corellian but she wasn't on the frontlines and would be unlikely to get bloodstripes) he was a bit of a rough and tumble Padawan, passionate and open with his affections. He'd been spoken to about his connection to Robin, but had proven himself able to let her go should it be necessary. During the war, Master Claudia was a general and he was her commander. Their Clone captain/commander was Clicks, who got his name from batch mates because of the tsk and clicking noses he made while thinking. He was playful and a smidge cocky, but cared deeply for his siblings and held a love for botany. Steve eventually decided that after the war, possibly after his knighthood trials he wanted to begin working in the creche.
Claudia -- she was a nautolan master Jedi, who was Steve's master. Her master was Mace Windu, either before or after Depa Bilaba. Steve was probably her second Padawan, but he threw unique challenges at her. She was actually the second master Steve had, the first, who had asked him to become his Padawan a bit young, at thirteen, had quickly grown frustrated with Steve and his affections for Robin, saying they were attached and very un-jedi, and attempted to forcefully remove the force bond that had formed between the two which distressed both Steve and Robin so much that other Jedi could feel it. Claudia had offered herself to finish Steve's training, and to work with him to understand the bonds he had with Robin and work on non-attachment. They were a formidable pair that tended to throw people off and were often underestimated with Steve's playboy charms and Claudia's motherly nature. She was killed when order 66 went out.
Dustin-- rodian (bald green guys with biiig black eyes that seem to have pinpricks of stars in them) he was a youngling at the time the Republic fell, but had already formed a bit of a bond with Steve and Claudia, and the force was nudging them together. Many suspected that Dustin would either be Claudia's Padawan after Steve or perhaps even Steve's first Padawan. I fortunately, after nightfall and escaping the Temple, Dustin blocked out many of the family he knew, including Steve and Claudia. When he escaped, Lucas' family helped him, having been long time friends with Claudia and knowing the Jedi would never betray the Republic.
El-- she is a human. she was kidnapped from the temple during Knightfall, and was in training to be an inquisitor until she decided to escape. She does not remember her birth name, but was going to be eleventh sister, so goes by El (admittedly my knowledge of the nth sister/brother is limited just go with this). At some point, she helps Hopper, a wookie who is just trying to get by after everything the empire did to Kashyyyk.
Eddie-- he is an Iridonian Zabrak, maybe one of his parents was human though because his hairline is much closer to his forehead than others. He was raised by his uncle Wayne, who was killed by the Empire for resisting. Eventually he was able to join the rebellion as a mechanic, which he quite likes. Somewhere along the way he met Chrissy, who quickly became his best friend.
Chrissy--a Twi'lek spy for the rebellion, her skin is a powdery pink. She assists the Freedom Trail, and often goes undercover. Her mother sold her into slavery, but she was taken under the wing of other enslaved twileks and was able to Free herself and began assisting others. One of her mentors helped her find the Rebellion where she is using her disarming personality to take down slavers and the Empire.

Do you dream?
This is an offshoot of Perchance to dream. While I highly recommend reading it, because I think it is neat (as the writer), I will summarize it here. The gist is that what we know as canon, starting roughly when council goes to confront Darth Sidious (though the timeline does not match exactly to reality) is a shared hallucination of the Jedi council, caused by a chemical weapon created by the separatists (which has been calibrated, using the Jedi councils’ DNA, to only affect the Jedi council). In this Palpatine is not a Sith, rather he is exactly what he portrays himself in canon.
In this variation the creators of the weapon make mistakes in how it was formulated. The first mistake is that it does not drag the victim quite as deep into the hallucination, in that they can interact with the real world, however they will disbelieve or not perceive anything that contradicts the world in the hallucination. The more important and far reaching mistake is that they did not restrict who was affected quite like they thought. The Jedi council was affected, to be sure, but so was roughly 80% of the galaxy and not all groups were affected equally. There did not seem to be any rhyme nor reason to who was affected or not.
90% of the senate was affected by the weapon, it should be noted that both Sheev Palpatine and Padme Amidala were not. The GAR was affected at 75% of the clones not stationed on Coruscant, though only 3% of the Coruscant Guard were affected (Most of this is more horror than funny but I just want you to picture this: Random Separatist Leader: You created a chemical weapon that only affects people based on their genetic code. Scientist: …Yes. Random Separatist Leader: And it is affecting roughly 70-75% of a group of genetically identical clones. Scientist, slumping: Yes. Random Separatist Leader:How? Scientist, wailing: we don’t know!!!), every battalion has clones affected. Of the Jedi, something like 97% is affected (Because the original intent was specifically for Jedi ), including all of the council (Anakin is not affected, though Ahsoka is). The highest ranked Jedi, by experience and title, unaffected were Jocasta Nu, Depa Billaba, Bant Eerin, Aayla Secura, and Anakin Skywalker. Most of the rest of the unaffected were padawans, initiates, and younglings.
It will only be looking back that anyone will be able to pinpoint the first indication that something is wrong. It is a simple thing, the Rodian senator mentions the ‘New Emperor’ to several of his fellows. Most of the room nods or responds, knowing what he was talking about. A few look at each other, confused but ignored.
Before we fully look at the horror, consider this. Here Sheev Palpatine does not want to be an Emperor. He was actually looking forward to retiring, to becoming a consultant where he could have all the influence and none of the responsibilities. Now 90% of the senate is sure he is an emperor (a human centric, misogynistic, bigot at that) and ignoring anything and anyone who tries to protest otherwise. He is being forced, largely against his will, to be an all powerful emperor who can’t actually do anything that is not based in pure evil because the afflicted will ignore it.
There is much confusion. We will get back to the effects of that confusion in just a moment.
Within the hallucination Order 66 goes out. Though there are signs that something was wrong earlier they are not nearly as wide spread. This, then becomes the most defining moment of the new era. 75% of the clones, not stationed on Coruscant, fall under the control of a chip that does not actually exist. To the utter horror of the unaffected clones, the afflicted clones open fire on any Jedi present (no matter who they might have been firing at in canon). Countless Jedi survived because they fell comatose at the same time, killed within the hallucination. Handfuls of clones that otherwise would have survived died at the hands of their brothers, who were trying to protect the vulnerable Jedi.
The 501st never marched on the temple, their battalion fell below the average with only 47% affected and without Vader to lead them, they are able to subdue the affected before it happens. However, the comatose Jedi cover every surface of the temple and for a bit it is believed that some sort of sleeping sickness afflicted the Jedi while most of the rest of the galaxy went insane.
The separatists are not excluded. They match the 80% affliction rate of the rest of the galaxy. Most of the leadership that is afflicted also fall comatose (read die in the hallucination). Even amongst the scientists who created the weapon (roughly 100-200 beings depending on when in development we are talking about) about 20% fell to the effects. The remaining scientists try for 6 months on their own to reverse the effects without success.
All the while the galaxy has largely turned itself into an oppressive empire, built a rebellion (that is being secretly supported by the Emperor himself), and is both tearing itself apart and gluing itself together at the same time. Various non affected beings, who would have died in the first few months of the empire, watch as the people they love mourn them. More than one unaffected Senators, up to and including Palpatine, see the way a number of so called respectable beings in power act when they are given free reign (case in point, Tarkin) and are horrified. And for those first six months no one can figure out what was going on. It is called an illness, a madness.
Roughly 80% of the galaxy believe themselves to be part of an empire and are unable to perceive anything that would break the illusion (Anakin becomes largely reclusive, as they react as if he is Vader and he can’t take the pulse of fear when anyone afflicted sees him). A new government has to be built, staffed by the non afflicted and weaved around the hallucination. They are building blind as within the hallucination the human rights violations start to appear and grow exponentially.
14 months in, Jocasta Nu finds a way to access the hallucination, an old mind based force technique. It works in that she is able to convey what had happened, what was happening within the hallucination. It failed in that she, having been dead in the hallucination, fell comatose. No one was willing to risk anyone else. In particular Anakin, as the non afflicted were afraid that Anakin would fall to Vader. They could not risk it.
Cody, who had been afflicted, woke from the hallucination after 2 years. It was only a coincidence that he was in the temple at the time. Anakin had requested to speak with him (hoping that they could find out more about what the ‘chipped’ clones thought was going on). He would be one of 400 throughout the galaxy. It was discovered that non force sensitives with particularly strong minds could break through the hallucinations, eventually being able to see the contradictions. Anakin without a suit was one of those contradictions. Cody, upon waking, had what could conservatively be called a panic attack, and what could rightly be called a series of panic attacks so severe that it drew the attention of empaths from 6 levels away. His attack on his general, his Obi Wan (they had built a relationship during the war and had plans to marry after it was done), had been entirely real. Obi Wan and Yoda could not be accounted for, no one knew if they had survived or not.
Between the Separatists, who rejoined the Republic 8 months after the weapon was deployed, Scientists and the Republic they were able to study enough of the reawakened, like Cody (Volunteer only), that they could start building a device to reverse the effects.
The device is activated 10 years to the day of the original weapon. It stimulates the brain waves matching the frequency of the awakened in anyone who was afflicted. The non afflicted gather together across the galaxy in little clumps, clutching at each other. The previous decade has changed the face of the galaxy in a way that cannot be properly articulated. The non afflicted have watch the reactions to a genocide, have seen the people they love embrace the very worst evils (or watched them rise above to fight back). Even those who would have supported the Empire are horrified by the depths that the hallucination dipped into (Over those 10 years they have been able to get other, scant looks into the hallucination). And this was a decade long tragedy in which everyone who was unafflicted experienced, to some extent. Tragedy is a great equalizer.
First the comatose began to wake, family and friends or very variety sitting with them. Even those who had no one unafflicted had someone celebrating their waking in the packed rooms. Then the afflicted started focusing fully on the people around them, fully for the first time in a decade. Spouses who had ‘buried’ their loved ones blinked to see them hale and hearty. Children that had effectively been orphaned, both as afflicted and non, found that there was suddenly a decade missing.
On Tatooine a Jedi Master turned butcher froze. He, like all the other afflicted, had gone to work that day, never noticing as the non afflicted among them were more anxious. The oppressive darkness vanished so abruptly he could feel it, even through the shielding. Not far away he could see a Togruta woman clutching one of his coworkers to her, who was bewildered.
An announcement went out to a broadcast system that had been built specifically for this (and Obi Wan realized he had never seen that broadcast tower before) an hour after the afflicted woke up. It took two days to reach the Outer Rim (but to be fair, so did the ripple that woke the afflicted). It gave a brief explanation about what happened and a location that any of the former afflicted could go to register themselves, in case they had changed planets under the affliction and wanted to find their loved ones again. It was recommended that the former afflicted remain where they were, as long as they were not in danger, to keep from clogging up the hyperlanes.
Obi Wan collected his lightsaber from the desert, and found that there was only one when he thought he had buried two. Driven by the force, he reported to the registration locations. Once his information was in the system it lit up from here to the Core. Cody was the one sent to collect him, as Anakin was helping to settle Ahsoka (who did not react well to being a decade older and having been killed by Vader).
Cody and Obi Wan maintained skin contact for the entire trip back from Tatooine, after a decade of thinking the other lost they could not bear to be parted.
Palpatine was finally able to step down, playing the emperor had been a horrific experience for him. He retired entirely, unable to bear the thought of power. Even if he had been interested, people still flinched when they looked at him.
Everything that happened next was to a galaxy irrevocably changed.

I think it’s funny that both the members of the Disaster Lineage and the members of the Shatterpoint Lineage are obligated to die (or at least disappear) for A Cause (TM), but they do it in opposite fashions that absolutely align with their titles.
Like, the Shatterpoint Lineage goes out in a blaze of heartbreaking self-sacrifice: Mace dies trying to rid the galaxy of Palpatine and Depa to give her Padawan time to escape, and then Kanan sacrifices himself to give his family time to fly away, and Ezra makes a whole plan which ends with him being lost in space along with the enemy. But the Disaster Lineage goes out in whatever way is most dramatic: Qui-Gon (the only person to ever actually die from being stabbed with a lightsaber in the stomach) dies just in time to make Obi-Wan train Anakin, Dooku’s death sets the end of Palpatine’s plan in motion, Obi-Wan literally raises his lightsaber to let Vader kill him, Yoda sticks around for YEARS and then dies right before the Empire falls, Anakin turns on Palpatine at the last second, and Ahsoka, dies not once or twice, but THREE times (on Mortis, on Malachor, and on Seatos) and just walks away from it every time.
I mean, just compare the last words of the Shatterpoint Lineage:
Mace: “He’s too dangerous to be left alive!”
Depa: “You must run! Run, Caleb!”
Kanan: “Must be the truth serum talking” (because when he saves them, he literally just does it without saying anything !)
Ezra: “there were several paths in front of me. While this wasn’t the one I wanted to take, it’s what I had to do” (okay, technically not his last line but close enough)
…to the last words of the Disaster Lineage:
Qui-Gon: “He is the chosen one. He will bring balance. Train him.”
Dooku: “You have hate. You have anger. But you don’t use them.”
Obi-Wan: “If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can imagine.”
Yoda: “There is another Skywalker.”
Anakin: “You were right about me. Tell your sister you were right.”
Ahsoka: *is possessed and then told her usefulness has come to an end* “I won’t leave you. Not this time” *falls off a cliff*
(Bonus: Xanatos “I am your biggest failure. Live with that. And live with this.” du Crion)
