My final thoughts on the Destroy All Humans 2 remake:
Overall I really enjoyed the game. Like with the first remake, it’s extremely faithful to the original DAH 2. It was so cool getting to experience the story again after all of these years. DAH 2 was my all time favourite game growing up, and getting to interact with Crypto and Pox again and destroy stuff in the flying saucer has been a real trip. I also appreciate some of the changes they’ve made to gameplay elements and certain missions that were a pain in the arse to complete in the original. Plus, while it’s not possible to fix all of the politically incorrect stuff from the original, I appreciated the effort Black Forest Games put into toning down some of the more overtly offensive elements, for example changing the ending so that Natalya isn’t forced into being Crypto’s sex slave.
That being said, I do feel the remake lacks polish compared to the first Destroy All Humans. There were a number of issues with bugs and glitches, screen tearing, frame rate, texture popping, wonky AI, and having to reload checkpoints because the enemies you’re meant to kill have clipped into the wall of a building and now you can’t shoot them. In fairness to the developers, they were having to work through the pandemic on a beloved sequel that is much bigger in scope than the first game. That being said, like with Horizon Forbidden West and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, I do feel this game would have benefitted from being delayed another year to work out all the kinks. For this reason, I have to say that I prefer the first DAH remake to the DAH 2 remake, but the original DAH 2 will always have a special place in my heart, and, despite the bugs, the remake is still the same game, new and improved.
So where do we go from here? Well there’s two other games in the series that could be remade, Big Willy Unleashed and Path Of The Furon, but I don’t think anybody wants to see remakes of those. Even with improved graphics and gameplay, you’d still be stuck with the awful writing of the original games. So yeah, fuck that. Personally, I would love to see them have a crack at doing their own official version of Destroy All Humans 3. It’s a big ask, making a new game from scratch instead of remaking an existing game, but I’m confident Black Forest Games could do it. They clearly love this franchise and understand what made the first two games work so well. And the changes they made to the ending of DAH 2 suggests they have ideas for the series going forward. Only time will tell, I suppose. I’m just so happy that a whole new generation of fans get to experience these brilliant games after all this time.
Hopefully we’ll get to see Crypto and Pox again soon 👽😄

Review: Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed
Like many of the B-movies that inspired it, Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed isn’t something that will be considered great by a general consensus, but does have a certain appeal to the right audience. The game makes many attempts at subtle and not-so-subtle innuendos and while the intention is humor, many of them fall flat. Not because they’re offensive, they just mostly go for the low hanging fruit which may have been more risque in 2006, but nowadays just doesn’t seem that creative.
Go see!

Destroy All Humans! 2 Reprobed Review
Destroy All Humans! 2 Reprobed Review
After realizing it’s been 16 years since I played a Destroy All Humans! game, the song “It’s Been Awhile” from Staind popped in my head. As a high schooler, I loved the series. It was mindless fun that poked fun at pretty much everything. After beating Destroy All Humans! 2 Reprobed, I can say that I still really enjoy the genre and miss games like this. It’s nice to relive things I loved so long…

Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed Review - Bring On A 3rd Game
Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed Review – Bring On A 3rd Game
The massive monstrosity that is the Embracer Group continues to gobble up more and more developers and intellectual properties, and regardless of how you feel about that one good thing has come of it; a willingness to mine their extensive catalogue via remasters and remakes, many of which seem to designed to test whether there’s an audience for a brand new game. In 2020, Black Forest released…
