It's kind of nice being able to look forward to Mondays when most everyone else dreads them. Anyway, despite the fact that I'm super sore from all the scrubbing I did cleaning kennels from dogs that went home yesterday (I can't turn my head all the way to the left!), I'm in a really good mood today. Why?

I don't have a headache. Yet.

I have the next two days off. It's so nice having two days off in a row (it doesn't always happen).

I finished a chapter last night, and now I can head into the chapter that has the smutty scene I've been envisioning for this story for several months now!

I downloaded an older version of Windows Movie Maker, so maybe I can start making my hiking music videos again (and one for my California trips, too!)

The heat is back, although it's once more super windy out.

The dewpoint is also high and there is a chance of severe storms later, but as long as they don't get too bad, I'm all for that!

SCARY! EF-3 tornado caught on camera rolling into Tushka, OK, and storm chasers are caught in the path. To this day, this is one of the closest calls we've had as a team as we realized we were north of the tornado's path. It was the place where we 'invented' the "stay-right rule." This rule states that we need to be at or right of the mesocyclone's path so we can have clear air to escape to. This twister was part of a major early-season event during the prolific 2011 tornado season. That season was so prolific that this devastating and killer EF-3 is barely remembered by anyone who wasn't impacted. This twister occurred as the low-level jet ramped up in the evening in an already highly sheared environment. It comes out of the slick, hair lank and plastered to its body, a gangling thing like an underfed sasquatch, the eight simple black eyes of a spider mostly pointed in her direction. "Just seeing how you were doing. Been a while, kid." Its voice is low and pleasantly fluting.

She shrugs. "Same as it ever was. War and rumors of war. Children starving, mass graves, cherry blossoms, a solar eclipse, earthquakes in the city, blizzards on the plains, rising sea levels, humidity at 78%, dewpoint at 50 degrees, fingernails, ginger ale, hand lotion, selenium sulfide—" She goes on for some time, mechanically, slightly bored, regurgitating everything she's taken in or noticed or heard, unsorted, pure. Words strung together in imitation of human speech, but senseless.

It bends towards her, brushes her cheek with fur rank and rotting, breathes a single enochian syllable in her ear. Colleen collapses, claws at the ground, body bent backward with tetanic pleasure.

So; it is enough.
