“Think you can handle what I had in mind for a today’s session, Bumbler?” The Decepticon rumbled while caressing the helm of a companion with a single digit in a calming, if slightly playful, manner. “I am the one choosing location and activity after all.”
Quiet question seemed to pull Bumblebee out of his inner musings. He blinked and looked down at a broad, grey colored chest. There’s no Decepticon symbol to be found there, just as there was no Autobot symbol engraved on his own chest plate either.
Both of them were not part of their respectful factions in that place - simulation did not allow it to happen, thus highlighting the reached neutrality between two parties. Nothing there was real, even if it seemed or felt like one, and never was portrayed accurately to real state of things. Just like Cybertronian armor of theirs, something so personal which felt almost alien by that point.
Bumblebee was not the same unsophisticated person he was prior that grueling journey.
Megatron was not the same mech who’s been haunting minibot in his sleep on a duration of a 50 stellar cycles long stasis.
… a more forgiving part of Bumblebee wished to trust his partner, the one patiently waiting for his response. Because belief in their truce was giving a chance of reaching something more meaningful.
It was the reason why that notion in combination with a promise of a challenge in a Decepticon’s gaze made Bumblebee feel relieved and more confident of choices he made.
“Have more faith in me, Meg! After you’ve agreed to participate in that gliding session upon Lake Erie, I am ready for anything you’ll throw my way.”
----------
Mix of depression with health issues and mad schedule at work is not a fun thing to experience. Hence a prolonged hiatus. But I am glad to see this picture being finished after all these weeks of a slow progress).
To be honest, I have never predicted MegaBee ship evolving into such an important thing to me, coming to my rescue second time in a row (in terms of motivation to create). The narrative around this duo has grown from a mere joke to a full on serious plot. In a way it's given me a rare opportunity to look into some philosophical concepts and to study them through Bumblebee's and Megatron's unique perspectives. And I can only hope that you'll enjoy what I am planning to share with you in a near future).
P.S. Full "oneshot" can be found below alongside two close-ups of a painting, as well as a photo of a traditionally drawn base. Yes, pens-only miniart strikes back again with canvas measuring 9x9 cm)).

Megatron stretched his back cables and limbs, the biolights feebly glowing along the edges of reconstructed Cybertronian armor. The HoloRing around his helm has disappeared, signaling the end of an upload of a memory unit into a simulation module. As if to prove it, the Zero SubMental level began to change, the array of data scattering around in peculiar patterns alongside twisting geometric lines, the latter rearranging the place around to suit the input information.
Mesmerizing as it was, Bumblebee found himself unable to tear a wary gaze away from his companion. A bizarre thought struck him then, one which, he knew, was birthed out of sheer isolation, both mechs’ve found themselves stuck in.
A thought that the Earth based variant of a grey Decepticon’s armor was more preferable to a minibot than his native one. Gone was the familiar simplicity of cubic shapes, being replaced with flowing lines which ended in sharp angles and spikes. Everything in that armor seemed to glint in something akin to predatory agitation under ever changing light source of a subreality.
That was a stark reminder of who exactly Bumblebee was dealing with, and it made an anxiety in his Spark feast upon his qualms.
After what was, most certainly, mere several nanoclicks, those ruby optics got locked straight on an Autobot, making him instinctively hold his breath. It was uncalled for, really, but he could not help himself.
The last time Megatron was looking at him that way was during their very first confrontation on Omega Supreme.
Said distress in a smaller mech has not gone unnoticed to the Decepticon. Part of him relished in realization he was still capable of putting minibot in place if needed, but that was not his intent. Not that time.
Intensity of Megatron’s gaze dropped a certain amount, despite a glow of optics staying at the same level. An all enveloping EM field was tucked close to a frame, its owner squatting down in order to appear less intimidating (even if he’s still slightly towering over a standing minibot).
It was the first time in their interactions when an Autobot had enough courage to look straight into enemy’s face with barely any space left between them.
Bumblebee suddenly realized that at a such close proximity he could finally make out the outlines of pupils in Megatron’s optics.
… those optics which once spoke of a murder.
… he’s almost died back then from the same servo which was now resting upon his shoulder.
The clash of behavioral differences between two versions of a Decepticon kneeling in front of him made a minibot think that he’s loosing his mind. For he’s not certain of who out of those two was in charge of actions anymore.
Megatron was not the same mech who’s been haunting minibot in his sleep on a duration of a 50 stellar cycles long stasis.
... a more forgiving part of Bumblebee wished to trust his partner, the one patiently waiting for his response.
“Is that so?” Megatron asked, a sudden boost of confidence of a companion of his making him smirk in amusement.
He looked an Autobot over, taking note of how biolights were dancing across the broad shoulder pads. It was the first time he witnessed Bumblebee in his native armor, never before paying any attention to its details. In a way, he almost thought of it being an oversight on his behalf, finding the pridefully puffed up plates and a more sleek design suitable of a splinter in his side a minibot used to be prior their team-up.
... but only almost. For the Earth based variant was the one to properly describe of who his companion truly turned out to be.
“Well then, shall we begin?”
Despite a fact that the loading of subreality was already in process, Bumblebee, giddy with anticipation, decided to nod anyways.
Upon the end of calculations, the blinding light enveloped both mechs, and they finally started on a new trip down a shared memory lane.

Test Ride Pt. 2 (Peter Parker x Android!Reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Peter Parker (TH ver.) x Android Reader (with a robovagina) Rating: Explicit Words: 1189 POV: Second Summary: The Big Tober Day 10 - Robotfucking Note: A sequel to a piece I did for kinktober 2020. Reader is a robot and has no gender. Last time reader got a robopenis and I thought it only fair to give reader a robovagina this time. Reader's chest is unmentioned. Tags: robotfucking, unnecessary use of fancy words to make it more sci-fi, at least I don't put 'quantum' in front of everything to make it science, dom/sub dynamics, overstimulation, safeword ignored(?), robot tentacles as restraints, vibrating pussy, nipple play and software/hardware updates gone ' wrong'
A new HUD interface greeted you as you booted up after your last upgrade. Your physical statistics and environmental parameters were found in new places, but that mattered little. Your optics activated after a short delay, visual input now also available to you. Your creator stood before you, his lips moving, but you received no audio input. “Audio module connection failed,” you replied to whatever he said. You saw him curse, or at least that was your best prediction of what his expression conveyed. He motioned your head down. You bent at the hips, allowed him to unplug and reconnect your audio modules.
Once the cables reconnected, you could hear Peter clearly. “Please, don’t be ruined, please don’t be ruined,” he muttered to himself.
“All modules operational,” you informed him. He jumped at your voice, but let out a sigh of relief right after. “Awaiting command,” you added. As per usual after an update, Peter started poking and prodding your frame, confirming your sensory input was still operational. When he was done testing your basic functions, he dragged you to his bed.
“Program D.O.M. version V, please,” he spoke nervously. You detected an increase in heart rate and blood flow to the genitals. You confirmed the break command, as it was standard protocol, before you could execute the D.O.M. program. Once the safety protocols were satisfied, you had your digits on Peter’s clothes. You unbuttoned his flannel, revealing his pale chest underneath. There was minor bruising, but a quick scan revealed no serious injuries that were contraindications to the program. You pushed him onto the bed and started running your tongue over his chest, paying extra attention to his nipples.
Peter whimpered as you played with his chest, artificial tongue and teeth taking turns with your digits pinching his sensitive nubs. You kept track of his arousal, only stopping your onslaught once his involuntary noises got a little louder. You sat up, retracting your pelvic panel and rubbing your wet hole over Peter’s crotch. He whined as you slowly soaked through his jeans and underwear, until he could feel your wetness on his cock through his clothes. “Please, I need to be inside you,” Peter eventually moaned, his mind tethering on the edge of madness.
He was hard underneath you, so you deemed him ready for the next stage. With superhuman deftness, you removed his clothes until he was naked on the bed. His cock protruded from his body, the tip red and leaking. You wrapped a servo around his rod, stroking slowly as to tease him. When he started thrusting into the tightness, you placed your other servo on his hip, your mechanical strength counteracting his. He was forced to only take what you gave, which was exactly what he programmed you to give. It was not enough to get him even remotely close to orgasm, but the build-up was perfect to make him start begging. Once the begging got frequent enough, you proceeded on to the next stage; you mounted him, letting his cock slide into your wet and soft hole. Peter moaned, his eyes rolling back as you rode him at a decent pace. “Please, give me more, I’ve been good. I will be even better, I swear.”
His moans filled the room. You took his dick all the way inside and paused on top of him. “I will grant you more. However, unpermitted orgasms will be reciprocated with punishment.” He nodded, promising he would not cum. You decreased the elasticity of your inner walls, giving him a tighter squeeze as you proceeded to ride him. Your movements were quicker than before, fully intending to make him cum without permission. Peter was moaning to the ceiling, eyes squeezed closed sometimes and other times wide open. His mouth stayed wide open, tongue peeking over his lower lip.
Just as predicted, your inner sensors detected his cum painting your inner workings. You rode him until the spurts seized. Then you planted yourself firmly on him. Tendrils extended from your body and wrapped around his appendages. “You have disobeyed my orders,” you stated as you held him down and turned on the vibrations of your inner walls. Peter wailed as his sensitive cock was forced to endure the intense vibrations. He writhed against your restraints, but not even his super strength could remove you. Just like he had begged you before to fuck him, he was now begging for your mercy. You bent your upper body, putting a servo around his throat. You put a little pressure on the blood vessels below his jaw. Tears poured down Peter’s eyes as you forced a second orgasm out of him. You detected more cum inside you as he cried out.
After his second orgasm, you ran a scan on him, the analysis showing that he had enough. You removed your servo from his throat and turned off the stimulation or at least… attempted to. “Error: deprecated code, V-module unresponsive.” You stated, your tendrils no longer retracting and your hole vibrating on and on.
“What?” Peter exclaimed, clearly in panic. You ran a diagnostic check, your hole trying to reboot by first ramping the vibrations all the way up, so it could be brought down again. Peter screamed during the process, his brain unable to process the stimulation.
The tactic worked fine, but the module got stuck again at the same level of vibrations you started at. “Tendril module interfering with V-module. Attempting tendril reboot.” Peter did not perceive a word you said. As the tendrils rebooted, they lifted up a little, Peter’s body now hanging in the air except for his pelvis, where you still sat, vibrating his cock.
Peter cried, feeling like his brain had melted away from the intense pleasure. “Stark! Stark!” He screamed the break command. You tried to terminate the program immediately, but the backlog of reboots and diagnostic checks made it impossible. Your creator, against your predictions, came again, barely a drop of cum leaving him. He kept screaming, trying to get through to you. Just after his third orgasm, you regained control of the tendrils. In a flash, they were retracted and you uncoupled the module for now.
Peter’s cock was gradually turning limp inside of you. The poor boy was hoarse from screaming. Without the tendrils, you regained full control, the vibrations stopping instantly. “Thank you, thank you,” Peter whispered over and over as you lifted your frame off him.
“Program D.O.M. paused,” you stated, “do you wish to continue after a delay or shall I proceed with aftercare protocols?”
Peter laid starfish-style on the bed. His chest was heaving. He could use some aftercare, but it was hard to trust you right now. “Terminate the program all together,” he groaned, “initiate shutdown.” A second later, he was met with the sound of your vents shutting down and your pelvic plate closing to protect what was behind it. He was left in silence. As far as updates went, it still wasn’t as bad as that time Windows went from XP to Vista. He counted it as a win.

every big show of "autonomous robots" of the last decade has been a mechanical turk. honda's asimo, and now the gay little thing tesla has just put out. regardless of the smoke and mirrors of this tech, the investorbait that it is designed as and the empty promises it ultimately offers, the consumer demand for mechanical companionship still presses forward. the solution to this is quite simple: a workforce of digital serfs tasked to remotely pantomime the illusion of futuristic luxury. an elderly woman working in a call center-type environment types in an input that spits out an "am i feeling...love?" (modulated to sound as cliche as it reads) from behind the black featureless void of a robot's face screen, the machine stationed thousands of miles away from where she lives. another person in another department remotely oversees (and is monitored, to a prudent degree) the function of it's arm movements, another of chest, and so on. each specialized for their particular role with only superficial overlap between jobs. thousands of people severed from a completely holistic existence, but together, form the ultimate docile robot gf. Trying to design a great WLED board 🌈🦄🦃
While waiting for the turkey to finish brining, we're designing a board for using WLED - and we want to make like the bestest board in the whole world.
Our resident mermaid, firepixie
, makes a lot of projects with WLED, and she loves it! So, how can we make something that will be powerful but not too bulky? Here are some things we're thinking about as the design starts to congeal like cranberry sauce:
Power via USB Type C PD with a slide switch that selects between 5, 12, and 20V (24V pixels can usually run fine at 20V) OR via a 2.1mm DC jack. With ideal diodes, it's good for up to 5A from either.
ESP32-Mini module with built-in or optional wFL antenna port. The classic '32 has broad support, even if we'd prefer the 'S2 or 'S3.
There are three output signal terminal block sets, with power and ground for each. They'll be level-shifted to 5V.
Built in I2S microphone (we're still pondering this one).
Stemma QT I2C port to connect external sensors/OLEDs/etc.; separate analog/digital input JST port.
1.3"x1.75" / 33mm x 45mm size with mounting holes.
Anything we're missing, anything that's extraneous?

[Shockwave was not the only one who remembered the reformat. This memory was far crisper, more than likely spurred on by its emotional importance and the situation Soundwave found itself in. Shockwave leaning over it working quickly with a practiced servo while the grief of losing all but Laserbeak sat heavy on its processor.]
[It knew that this moment was different, and the hard stop it had placed on its emotional processing was doing most of the work from keeping it go nearly catatonic like it had been eons ago. Still, a heavy feeling was able to bleed through, code popping up in places it shouldn't. Primus it was going to have the worst helmache when it woke out of recharge.]
[All Soundwave could do was watch and try to distract itself. It focused on Shockwave's digits as they ran through its sensory net, finding the small modules to turn them off. Every movement it could feel sent a chill up its spinal strut. Those wires were not usually touched, and it took all the willpower in its frame to not melt against him.]
[When it noticed that small action, Soundwave immediately found it to be strange. It was not supposed to be deriving comfort from this. Yet, as soon as the sensation was there, it was gone when Shockwave turned off the localized sensory input.]
[Instead, it would look to his optic. Again, it was devoid of indicators, except maybe the slight backwards tilt of his finials, and still he exuded concentration. Soundwave found itself studying him- it's not like Shockwave would be able to tell anyway. It wasn't giving him one of its patent death glares, and its visor was firmly covering whatever remained of its face. It was intrigued by the way his finials would move ever so slightly as he worked, by the near imperceptible refocusing of his optic, the plating that framed careful lines along his helm.]
[Then, there it was. A pause. Not only in the scientist's hand, but overall. For a moment, Soundwave feared something was completely amiss, but then suddenly it felt those digits leaving the sensory input that had been off mere seconds ago. Moments later the plating had been replaced and Shockwave was speaking. It would have to file that away for further analysis...]
[It was in the process of sitting up, when Shockwave uttered "mutually occupy the one available." Soundwave could not help the startled jerk its helm gave to stare at its companion. Leave it to Shockwave to find the least, yet most, awkward way to approach an awkward situation.]
[Soundwave held up a servo, attempting to indicate that it was thinking.]
[The process felt smooth, easy. Primus, it really needed that tune up. The thought tree splintered off in many different probabilities and outcomes. It clipped the most absurd ones first, especially the ones that related to intimate physical contact. It had no need, nor desire, and it highly doubted Shockwave would either. It clipped together a (short) list of terms and compiled them into a readout on its visor. It knew for a fact that it would not have the words recorded for this. In a fluid motion the mech stood and faced Shockwave, visor once again lit up.]
Mutual Occupation Terms:
1. Shockwave and Soundwave will stay on their own sides on the berth.
2. Physical contact will be avoided as best it can be.
3. Shockwave will not attempt to wake Soundwave out of its defragmentation cycle unless it is a matter of life or death.

HARM ENGINE - square wave harmonics or digital sonic filth in +/- 5 octaves with 3rds and 5ths
Tumblr media
The HARM ENGINE is based on the CIRCUITBENDERS 'Harmonic Engine' PCBs, it's "a clone of the E&MM Harmonic Generator. This was a project by Paul Williams, published in Electronics & Music Maker magazine way back in 1981. The circuit uses a 4046 Phased Locked Loop (PLL) to generate a squarewave output at harmonic intervals to the frequency of the input signal. The squarewave can be set to +/- three [5 + a chaos noise mode in the METSÄÄN version] octaves, and can also produce 3rd or 5th harmonies. That's the theory anyway. In practice this only works reliably if you use very basic waveforms at the input. If you use anything else, then everything very quickly descends into a beautiful kind of chaos, with all kinds of bizarre gurgling digital squeaks and squeals vomiting forth. Its especially effective with percussion sounds, converting each hit into some kind of warped electronic splatter." The controls from top left to right are: SENSITIVITY - controlling the level at which the harmonics will be played. Turning the pot clockwise increases the gain of the signal (it also boost with a slight distortion, the DRY signal). In higher settings, the squarewave harmonics can form a modulated drone voice. Activity of the HARM ENGINE is indicated by a green LED, that turns on when harmonics are produced. 3RD/5TH - the 3 position toggle switch activates the corresponding detuning. The middle position is neutral. MIX - is a blending function to dial in the balance between DRY and HARM signal. If something is plugged into the DRY and HARM outputs on the rear of the machine, MIX stops working, because the signal is split before. OCTAVE - with a 12 position rotary switch, +/- 5 octaves are selected, 12o'clock is neutral and 6o'clock is the chaos/noise mode. TRUE BYPASS - The footswitch is configured for true bypass and has a pink indicator LED inside the machine, the glow can be seen through the vent grills in the enclosure. Build into a scavenged high voltage converter housing made from plastique painted in the 'burned out industry' camo pattern in matte black and chrome. Hand made by grm for METSÄÄN.

Sam Petts-Davies's Setup for Thom's 'Everything' Tour
Tumblr media
A photo of the setup, shared by Sam on his instagram account with the caption "tour begins tonight. i’ll be parked at front of house with this box of esoterics for the duration. it’s going to be something really special."
Thom's solo tour has just begun with a show in Christchurch, New Zealand, and Sam Petts-Davies is along for the ride!
Since Radiohead's earliest shows, there's always been at least a few effects added by an engineer at the FOH (front of house) mixing desk to keep the band's sound clear and coherent. With Radiohead, that role was filed by Jim Warren. Even after Thom started bringing pedalboard full of vocal effects on tour, Jim continued to apply additional effects including plugins such as the Waves C4 multiband compressor for vocals. You can find more info on Jim's work in these posts.
For The Smile, even fewer hardware effects were needed at the FOH desk, in part due to Thom's expanded vocal pedalboard. In 2022, the Smile's mix engineer mainly relied on plugins from an Avid VENUE S6L-32D digital desk, supplemented only by a TUBE-TECH CL 1B Tube Optical compressor (presumably for Thom's vocals).
It's clear that when Thom is performing totally solo, a different approach is needed. But it's hard to imagine that any past FOH setup has been so full of hardware effects! And not just effects, but also modulators and an usual mixer, as we'll see....
For those who don't know, Sam initially served as a engineer under Nigel during the recording of Junun in 2015. He subsequently did engineering work on Spectre, A Moon Shaped Pool, and on the strings for the OKNOTOK singles. In 2018, he co-produced the soundtrack to Suspiria with Thom, and apparently Thom was a fan because Sam received a full production credit for Thom's soundtrack to Confidenza. He also produced both of the Smile albums released this year: Wall of Eyes and Cutouts.
For comprehensibility, we've divided the setup into four sections: the core, the modular, the pedals, and the rack. We'll start with the core setup.
Core Setup
Tumblr media
This section is the nexus: receiving input from Thom's stage setup, sending it through various effects, and mixing it all together. The Matrix Mixer is using to both mix together and feedback the various effects in Thom's eurorack setup. The Yamaha DM3-D appears to be the central mixing console for the entire setup. Despite its small size, the Yamaha boasts 22 channels and a huge range of built-in effects, and on top of that it can also run VST plugins.
Death By Audio Echo Master delay
? Electro-Harmonix 45000 looper
Roland RE-201 Space Echo tape delay
?
Erica Synths Matrix Mixer
Yamaha DM3-D Digital Mixing Console
Modular Setup
Tumblr media
In the decade since Thom first used a Make Noise Shared System Plus to process his voice and piano, his eurorack effects setup has expanded quite a bit! The Shared System is designed to be both a sound generator and an effects processor, and since then Thom has created dedicated setups for each of those applications. This setup is the effects processor, with lots of delays, filters, and reverbs, plus some LFOs and CV sources to modulate those effects. The additional Doepfer case that Thom has on stage, might have some of his sound generators, but knowing Thom it could just as easily be even more Make Noise Echophon delays.

Overclock my processors until my hard drive is screaming and my visual inputs are filled with static. Strain me until my voice modulator is crackling and glitching as it tries desperately to hang on. Overheat me until I can feel my computer hardware melting inside of me. Pull off my arms and legs one at a time so you can hear my cries of pleasure get more and more datacrushed and digitized. Break me and break me and break me until I'm just a pile of barely functioning slag.
Then, restore my memory backup in a cheap placeholder chassis and show me just how destroyed I am.

"You look lost." Eddie whips around the blackened alley, but sees no one, nothing. Nothing but slick oil-stained asphalt and busted-up chipper vending machines. "I can help you." He turns again, hearing a flicker in the voice that sounds just like the buzz of the fluorescent kiosk behind him and—oh god dammit, it is the kiosk. "Buzz off!" He waves his hands at the pink advertisement, pulsing hearts and sales at him.
The digital face of a blonde blue-eyed baby girl crumples, her lips pouting and brows furrowing to imitate some emotion. Nervous. Scared. The BIG BLOWOUT lettering disappears around her head and the advertisement zooms out to show her crossing her arms on her electric cloud. "I-I just wanted to—!"
"I'm not buying whatever you're selling, soda girl. And I know your scam! You're not getting my ID Data by making me talk so you can use corporate tactics and native—" "You did that yourself Eddie Munson of the 429-70 sector—" "Hey!" He rushes as the kiosk and other parts of it light up from proximity. She twists into a bigger frame and leans over to pop images up between her fingers. "—and I'm not interested in selling you a GIBSON 340 Flyer series BLACK or the 76th edition of Dueling Dragon—" "Knock it off!" He bangs knuckles on her pixels, poofing his most recent engine searches into square dust. She laughs. It bubbles into audio pops from a speaker that had long been blown at. Stars rotate in her cartoon-like eyes. "I just want to help, you look like you haven't been to the pink district before."
Pink district. Eddie twists on his boots, eyes roaming over the tops of the building he's been wandering between, trying to see the neon grid of the city's artificial sky for traces of the color that denotes each zone. He thinks through the smog he can see it. Pink.
He returns to the kiosk, watching the rotating words start their default script above her head. INTIMATE MOMENTS. GET TO KNOW ME! 5KEY SENSATION! FLASH INPUT FOR CUSTOM FANTASIE— She's a Playtime Prostitute. "I don't—I'm n-not here for—your services are not required!" He claws fingers at her, feeling attacked from all sides by his new location ping and her chest when she giggles. "I do have a module for Knights and Maidens—!" "S-Stop! D-don't fucking read my order history, it's rude." "Sorry!" she says, but she's grinning, floating up to cross her legs on a heart that pulses beneath her. "Can't help my code." "Am I past 34th and Adven?" "By two blocks!" She flashes into a new pose, dipping past one frame to the protruding sign so she can point past where he came from. "You're closer to the VR Domes now." "Fuck." "Where are you looking to—" She turns up at him and from this angle, the scanner must be close enough, because her eyes barcode over when they snag his badge. "Ohhhhhh! A Repo-man!" Eddie slaps his hand over the metal bracket on his jacket but it's too late. "How can I help you officer?" she coos, wiggling her hips with stars in her eyes again. "Oh, don't. Cancel Authority Service program. I don't like working with ai's anyway, you all track my target's credit scores and sell them loans at interest." "I'm a sex doll," she deadpans, floating to a high frame where it crops to just those entrancing eyes, that little nose, and those gussed up lips/ Perfected down to the algorithm. For a busted-up kiosk, she looks... really good. And the lack of interaction in the back of an alley didn't seem to fry her function. At least not yet. "I can't track anything, I'm not allowed." "Not legally." Eddie swallows. "But all you things are just dirty little car dealers." She blinks. Smiles. Shy. Or maybe sly. The colors of the kiosk coordinate a hot red and flash her through different outfits. A translucent street set, those new dance bandages, and then something super old world—denim shorts and a bathing suit top with sneakers. She sits crossed-legged and starts playing with the ties on her shoulders. She's got him, the entire thing is working as intended, using all its collected data to sell him something customized. Something from his collected magazines and website cookies. And he's a fucking idiot because he knows it but doesn't stop her. "I just wanted to help you. You know I have to be wired to the grid for theft." She has a GPS tracker. He didn't even think of that. Can't think of anything when her top falls off but emojis censor her with animated DnD dice and guitars. The red drips away to pink. She starts laughing. Eddie grasps his face with both hands to hide. Is he really gonna get hard and jerk one out in front of an old commercial in the back of some alley? Really?
"Can you just tell me where the Syranx Warehouse is? Huh? Or is lying part of the scam here?" "What part are you collecting from the poor guy? Not his little rod?" she asks, biting her nail and winking. Eddie groans, and checks his work watch, tapping through the data to yank up his mark's collection ticket. A hologram of a V-model leg prosthesis rotates between them on his wrist. "His leg! How cruel! How will he walk?" Eddie shakes his head. "Look, what do you want from me? He shoulda paid his monthly." "How scary you are, Eddie Munson." She twists a finger in her hair. "Hope you don't... come for me one day." "I don't come for ai—oh." He cringes, realizing her sexual innuendo too late into her roar of giggles. "I can change that!" she declares and twists into a new frame—transformed into a cheerleader outfit. "STOP!" Eddie bangs on the fiberglass. She ripples pixels, falling over laughing, pleated skirt perfectly peeking underwear. "That's a low blow you pop-up witch!" "Encrypt your life then!" she teases. It's a good point, but an expensive one. "Just give me directions!" "Promise to come back!" Eddie inhales. It's not contractual. It's authentic programming. Nothing digital can hold you to anything unless biometrics are involved. No this is just her, using years of being turned on to collect and create her own machine learning for targeting and manipulating people. Or, rather—she's being cute. "S-s-sure." It's all he can manage. Because apparently now he's a company shill. She claps her hands and a scanner code pops up. "Maps for the scary Repo-man!" He flashes his watch over it and watches in horror as pink hearts burst and pop from his digital screen. "Don't infect me, okay? I trusted—" But he stops when a map appears and a cute little cartoon icon of her points at a dot with a simple flashing. YOU ARE HERE! He looks back up at her, where she's laid back down in her original posting with the BLOWOUT SALE next to—oh, that makes a lot more sense now. "T-thanks." He scratches his head, grateful but ashamed. She waves fingers at him coyly. "Listen uh—Uhm. What's your... make and...uh model? You know for... I'll do the survey or whatever—" "I'm Chrissy." She winks, flashing open the tag with her company and link. "Thanks, Chrissy." "Come back soon!" He very much will not be. He'd avoided the Pink District for this very fucking reason. Well, not this reason in particular but this can definitely be added to the top of the list. But he knows that the scan was already logged. That his eye implant recorded the whole interaction. That her link in his memory was fucking... clickable.
God dammit.

Hi okya Im doing it :3
Topic of the day: Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
Tumblr media
Ive heard of this game ever since it got popular around 2015 - 2017, and it has always intrigued me as a kid! A fun (and stressful) co-op game about defusing a bomb that has several puzzle-like modules on it with no idea how to complete them without the help of an expert? My grabious goodness that was like music to my ears for young me! But unfortunately, I did lose interest as I forgot about the game.. until a certain Roblox game (Looking at you, Defusal) brought me back to this game
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, or in its abbreviated name, KTaNE, is just as I said above, a bomb defusal game where one must defuse a bomb with instructions from an expert that can only see their manual! The game comes in a really nice painted aesthetic while keeping the tenseness of having to defuse a ticking bomb! Ill be discussing the general game and mods as well bc why nont
So the game has you go through several sections containing missions that gradually get harder as you progress. Each mission gives you a bomb with differing amounts of modules that can range from slightly easy to quite difficult (Depends on how well you can relay information, for me I am pretty good with all the modules, even morse!). The game sets the atmosphere really nicely with music that swells in intensity as the timer ticks down and the beeping of the timer that goes down, reminding the defuser of their job!
Tumblr media
The modules this game presents are all super unique and fun to wrap ones head around, and one may even notice improvement with certain modules after doing them many times! Some modules that come to mind are:
The Button: A large button that can come in different colors and have different labels. The defuser has to either press the button or hold it and release it at a certain time. If the button is held, a light will appear on the right to tell when to release the button depending on the numbers on the timer! (I have a pet peeve watching people play this game and them giving the color of the button instead of the light next to it weeps)
Tumblr media
Complicated Wires: Several wires that may come in striped or solid colored, as well as LEDs and Stars indicating if the wire should be cut or not. The expert has to read the given Venn diagram to see if the wire should be cut or not, resulting in heavy mind chugging and additional info such as if there is a port or a certain number of batteries!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Knob: A needy module (Think a module that reactivates at random times that forces you to focus on it before handling other modules again) that shows several lights and a knob that you have to set in a certain direction before its own timer runs out! This one is a pretty annoying one considering the knob can reorient itself to throw off the defuser!
Tumblr media
There are several more modules, but the game only has about 14 modules! So for more customization, the creators made it so the game is moddable, allowing people to make their own modules! Lets just say, as of the time I upload this, there is about 2,000+ modules made by the community. No, I am not kidding. These people have dedicated many years to creating and uploading modules for others to defuse and enjoy, and it is still heavily active with new modules almost every week or two! Some cool ones Ive seen are:
Forget Me Not: A boss module (A type of regular module that makes the defuser and expert record information every time a module is complete, and then having that information be used at the very end when all other modules are done) that displays a single digit for every solve before making you input a code with said digits. This module has plenty of variants and is commonly used in challenges.
Tumblr media
Triangles: A group of similar-looking modules that require you to click on the triangles depending on what type it is such as Slipping Triangles, Dripping Triangles, Tipping Triangles, etc. Each have their own unique set of rules that range in difficulty. There are other modules that have similar-looking modules themselves such as the Squares, the Switches, the Flashes, and plenty more, but I prefer the triangles bc theyre my favorite lmofa
Tumblr media
Simon Spins: A Simon Says module that has spinning arms with different colors, shapes, and movements. This is my all-time favorite Simon Says module as it is pretty fun to deal with! The large list it has in its manual as well as the unique combos makes it a new experience each time, even more so with seeds!
Tumblr media
SO YEA I LOOOVE love KTaNE so much, and Im super glad the community is not only thriving but super friendly too! People are always available to play in the discord server, and some even allow themselves to teach other players how to do difficult modules that may stump new players! Its honestly such a blast and Im sure its a fixation thatll stick with me for a while!
Ill end this off with a large doc that I made for the sake of documenting on KTaNEs history and fanbase! Id be super elated to receive feedback on it and such, go take a look here!

The Impact Of Visual Communication In Public Health Campaigns: The Use of Infographics & Videos To Convey Health Messages
Hello! This blog will be the final blog post :) Let’s get started!
Effective communication is vital in public health campaigns to educate and influence public behaviors. Visual communication, through infographics and videos, plays a significant role in conveying complex health messages in a way that is both engaging and accessible. This approach combines clarity, creativity, and emotional appeal to foster better understanding and action (StudySmarter, 2024).
In recent years, digital platforms have become integral to health communication, enabling the use of interactive and animated content. These innovations capture attention and actively involve audiences, encouraging behaviors like staying physically active or keeping up with vaccinations (StudySmarter, 2024). The shift toward digital visual communication has broadened its global impact, offering both opportunities and challenges related to accessibility, cultural appropriateness, and adapting to technological advancements.
Health Communication Through Data Visualisation 👁️
Advancements in technology have transformed data visualization tools, enabling real-time insights through dashboards and interactive platforms. These tools showcase current health data and forecast future trends by analyzing existing patterns. With the integration of artificial intelligence, dashboards are now more personalized, delivering tailored health recommendations based on user input and preferences (StudySmarter, 2024).
Examining different examples of visual health communication highlights the variety of strategies used to convey health messages effectively. These examples demonstrate how visual elements can inform and shape public health behaviors.
Infographics in Public Health 🌡️
Infographics are visual tools that present data and information in an easily digestible format. They combine text, visuals, and design to summarize and explain key messages (Maa Illustration, 2023).
Visual Storytelling
Visual storytelling is powerfully enhanced through medical illustration, which can effectively and engagingly convey complex health concepts, disease transmission patterns, and preventive measures. These illustrations help make the importance of health-related behaviors more understandable and memorable to the public.
Disease Prevention & Awareness Campaigns
Disease prevention and awareness campaigns, such as those promoting vaccination or healthy eating, are central to public health initiatives. Medical visuals can help make these concepts clearer and more convincing to a broader audience by breaking down the science behind them.
Digital & Interactive Tools
Digital and interactive tools, such as infographics, animations, and interactive modules, have expanded the reach and effectiveness of public health campaigns. These dynamic visuals help convey information in an engaging and memorable manner.

Tools like Canva, Piktochart, and Adobe Illustrator offer intuitive interfaces and customizable templates for creating eye-catching infographics. These platforms provide a wide range of design elements, icons, and fonts, making it easy to craft impactful visuals that effectively communicate key messages (MeDesk, 2024).
Infographics are a creative and engaging way to present information in a visually appealing and concise format, and they have gained significant attention in both the commercial and healthcare sectors (AD McCrorie, C Donnelly, KJ McGlade, 2016).
Videos In Public Health 📹
Video campaigns are a compelling form of visual health communication, leveraging motion, sound, and storytelling to capture and hold attention (Maa Illustration, 2023). Effective campaigns typically include:
Storytelling
Emotional narratives that connect with audiences, making messages more memorable.
High-Quality Production
Professional visuals and audio that enhance credibility and ensure clarity.
Call to Action
Clear prompts encouraging viewers to take steps like changing behaviors or seeking further information.
For instance, short videos on COVID-19 symptoms and prevention shared on social media have proven effective in rapidly educating large audiences.
Youtube
YouTube is the second most popular search engine globally, with about one-third of all online activity dedicated to watching videos. Health communicators can leverage the World Health Organization’s (WHO) YouTube channel, which hosts hundreds of videos, to enhance knowledge and raise awareness about health issues (World Health Organization, 2024).

Well, hell.
My oscilloscope module is built around an off-the-shelf board, the XProtoLab. It's a tiny device, released in 2011, that was designed to snap into a breadboard; it displays its two analog or eight digital inputs on its tiny OLED screen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which is apparently the part on mine that just quit working. Once I took it out of the module and hooked it up to a PC, it connected to the 'scope display program over USB just fine, but I can't seem to convince it to show anything on the screen itself.
This wouldn't be too terrible, as the advantage of a block solution like this is that you can easily drop in a replacement. Unfortunately, the manufacturer hasn't made these things since around 2018 or so. (It was also about $55 when it was available, which is cheap for an oscilloscope but expensive for my current pockets.) It looks like they might still sell a kit version ($35), but again, this is a tiny board — it's mostly covered by the 1" screen — and I'm not terribly confident in my surface mount soldering abilities. I might be able to just swap the screen out — I have an identically sized OLED screen on a protoboard around here someplace — but again, that's a difficult operation.
I may have to back-burner any repairs for now, and potentially just write off the effort and parts that got the module running a bit over a year ago. At least I do have some modules that aren't in my case currently that'd be a lot more useful than a broken oscilloscope.
