This guy is awesome looking, but I have no idea who he is or what series he's from.
Anyone wanna help a brain-addled, memory deficient old guy out?
ADDENDUM:
Thanks to @dlight98 for informing us that this guy is called Dinosaur Evo, a kaiju from episode 17 of Kagaku Sentai Dynaman.
I have to admit, I've only seen the six episodes of this series shown on USA Network's Night Flight waaaaaaaaay back when, called Dynaman. They were dubbed parodies in the tradition of Woody Allen's What's Up, Tiger Lily? (1966), and pretty durn funny.

so the Spouse and I like to have a lot of verbal discussions about the universe where the asteroid didn't hit. mainly spec evo stuff. what would evolve into what, that kind of thing. we know we're not alone in that.
we maintain that humans evolved alongside some pretty terrifying mammalian megafauna, so why not dinosaurian? so what would a realistic sapient ape in a dinosaur world be?
it's taken some thinking, but:
wookies.
we'd be wookies.
no need to leave the trees, the grass would be very unsafe if it evolved the same
no need to leave the trees, we remain furry
we could build tree houses and other structures, in the trees, to stay out of the range of predators
that's. just wookies. that's just the wookies.

“Mininykus”, my little speculative alvarezsaurid guy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Basically a tiny version of mononykus haha. I am not like a skeleton person so if I mess up in that diagram then feel free to critique it
It is a nocturnal desert dwelling theropod, with a very short stature. Only about 6-9 inches tall. It is a predator, and mainly hunts during the night. It feeds on insects, grubs, and small reptiles. They dig shallow burrows in dirt mounds, where they sleep during midday to avoid the heat. Their large eyes and whiskers aid in helping them transverse their dark environment.
It is sort of based on a jerboa, but it can’t hop. They are very good at speedwalking though.
Edit: I see some new mininykus enjoyers! Reminder that mininykus has its own tag (#mininykus) with more art and speculation!

Refuge, an artifical earth-like planet, it has a rich atmosphere and geologic activity controlled by giant ancient machines deep in its crust.
It was seeded with late cretaceous fauna and flora. With oviraptors, small abelisaurids, noasaurids, dromys and more. Which then evolved into tremendous new species.

The Tyrannotiger - Devastator of Ecosystems.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So for the past few days I’ve been doing a series of warm-ups based on an idea:
- Tyrannosaurus occupied multiple niches as it grew up, potentially outcompeting other medium sized predators as it did.
- Tigers and other large cats are infamous for being ultracompetitive, to the point that Siberian Tigers have been known to absolutely decimate wolf populations wherever they overlap.
So I thought “let’s combine the two”! And so the Tyrannotiger was borne, where every growth stage corresponds to a different cat.
- Early Juvenile = Cheetah
- Late Juvenile = Leopard
- Young Adult = Jaguar (with a hint of Lion)
- Mature Adult = Tiger (and a more complete lion’s mane).

So, you guys remember mininykus, right? My little spec dinosaur I made a few months back. Here’s a link to the original post
Well, I was wondering what to do with my birthday cash, and I saw on Twitter the awesome artist Lyn Joyce had their coms open. So I put two and two together, and had a very epic idea….
…and a few days ago, that epic idea arrived to my house!!!
Say hello to…
Tumblr media
Mininykus! But real!!!
I can’t say enough how happy I am with how this turned out!! The pose is great, the fluff is great, the face is great, everything’s so great!! This was definitely the best thing I’ve ever spent my money on.
Tumblr media
Like ragghhhhhh I want to dress him up in little hats and a scarf maybe!!! Like a weird dog-mom urge. Just to cute
Tumblr media
And yes, I introduced him to the chickens. Max was apprehensive, but I think they’d make good friends!! (Joke obviously, he is staying safe in my room haha)
Anyways that’s pretty much it, hopefully you guys will appreciate him as much as I do :) and again, go check out the artist!!

friends and I were watching a bunch of 2000s dinosaur cartoons that we grew up with on a discord call last night and I had a realization that the protagonist of dinosaur king is just the starter evolution of sol badguy
