I will admit, a few of these were childhood crushes of mine. 😅

I gotta say. My TigerGhost West Side Story au is slowly becoming what West Side Story is to Romeo and Juliet. Same story, but also vastly different.

Like? It's.... Become this really complex mafia/cartel au in the 1970s and I'm not even sure what to call it at this point. Like I went off the mother fucking rails. So I feel the need to post an updated info dump lol

Setting: San Diego, CA/Miracle City, MX (Miracle City is a stand in for the real life city it's based on of Tijuana) in 1971. Most of the Story is on the San Diego side.

Basic Plot: Danny is the adopted son of Vlad Masters, an old money leader of a Mafia like group called the Jets. Danny (25) is being groomed to take over the Masters' estate, both in crime and legitimate business. He's called either Vlad's Lap Dog or Attack Dog by most other people in the crime world.

Manny is the Grandson of Jorge Rivera, the head of the Cartel/Gang of the Sharks. He's very old (97!) and leads with his right hand woman Sartana. Django is Sartana's grandson and Manny's right hand man.

Manny (24) and Django do most of the day to day running of the Sharks but most major decisions are still made by Jorge and Sartana.

Manny and Danny know each other from a distance, because there is an extremely hard rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks that is a few generations deep. But Danny was off the map for a little while (the year in jail from a job gone wrong that Vlad let him rot for a year before he used his power and money to get him out).

But they end up talking at a Mixer that is hosted in response to the active Chicano Movement. Showing that there is a growing interracial harmony. The Mayor hosting is absolutely owned by Vlad and the Jets. Danny goes being ordered to dance with a jet girl, Zoe Avez (Django's fiance).

Manny is like. That Jet Lap Dog looked like he'd rather die than dance with Zoe. And is like. I'm going to learn more about that güero.

Then they both immediately clock the other as another closeted gay guy. And Manny is like. "Oh, the heir to my rival is a repressed, gay white boy. I'm going to absolutely press on this like a bruise."

And it turns into a messy accidentally falling in love. And it's messy and kind of delicious. And it's a mess of betrayal, forbidden love, and dealing with repression, abuse, and recovery.

I've titled it, "Not a Person, Not Really"

Not sure if I did it exactly how you asked but here's my fave couples off the top of my head! Jorge did confirm that Django and Zoe would've become a couple later on, so that's what got me to ship them lol

Tries to convince the protagonist to join him...

And in the end, fights the protagonist and swears revenge.

I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but, it's weird that it happend twice, right?

How did Django, Zoe, and Dr. Chipotle meet?

Django and Diego meet first in prison when sharing a cell. Having his Magic Guitar taken from him, Django was next to helpless in escape. Dr. Chipotle, himself, made no attempt to break out, even after Django kept trying to egg him on. Eventually, Chipotle breaks, and accidentally unleashes a hidden power that creates crushing lime trees that break the wall apart.

The two run, but Django is still without his guitar. He starts trying to get Chipotle on his side after seeing what he was capable of, and eventually the two start to let each other in. Diego tells Django how he is dating someone who he used to adore...but now his feeling are hollow toward her and he is unsure what to do, even more so after his clones, Sr., and Sr. Sr., expired. Django tells Diego that he learned he has living relations, as in family of flesh, that he is unsure how to approach. He is a skeleton, after all, and a well known supervillain as well.

In the meantime, Django and Zoe had been encountering one another more and more often. At first it was on accident, passing the same roof top at the same time. Eventually, however, the two started to do it on purpose. They had a lot in common, but also a lot different. They had things to learn from one another.

Soon, Django introduced Chipotle to Black Cuervo, and the three of them decided to work together to take back Django's guitar. In planning, Zoe actually helped take the rose-tint from Diego's eyes, helping Chipotle realize that, indeed, he was more in love with just HAVING someone than actually in love with Frida. She was a concept, and now she was just...there.

When they went to take Django's guitar, it went smoothly, even more smooth then their plan expected. It was the final piece, and they realized the three of them are stronger together than they are trying to fend for themselves or with their families. They formed the 'Tres Terrors', and no superhero could even stand a chance against them.

I strongly headcanon that Django is afro-Latino. So I'm shipping some black boys up in here.

I feel like Django would be a bit reformed by the time they all meet as adults in the nicktoons unite universe. And Django would have chilled out with age instead of him taking over from Sartana.

So, I feel like if Django and Tucker got together it would be an extension of Manny and Django's rivalry. Oh? You got an American ghost hunter boyfriend. Bet. Watch this.

I feel like they'd relate on a lot of side kick stuff. They'd talk about magic vs technology and Tucker would be like. Let's combine these things.

Tucker would kind of love Django's chaos.

Though truth be told. I probably won't write much of this ship. 😅

I'm actually such a sucker for Sam/Tucker and Django/Zoe. That I kind of keep them in those relationships in most of my TigerGhost fics.

Like how in my non-crossover DP fics I almost always do the ship everlasting trio. Or my non-crossover El tigre I keep to canon ships Manny/Frida and Django/Zoe. Though I am a sucker for Frida/Zoe in some situations. And one of my friends was like Dr. Chipotle Jr/Django and I was like. Okay, you're cooking???
