Hi I hope this isn't a dumb question but I'm a new Stars fan (This is actually my first time watching the hockey season) and I was wondering what the "We're not going home" phase is from and why did some people here got emotional when Khudobin said it during our home game on Tuesday

hi!!! there are no dumb questions!!!! the phrase came out of the 2020 bubble playoffs which, wild as it is to realize, were nearly five years ago 😭 so even if you'd been watching for a couple seasons it's the kind of thing that you might've missed anyway!!!!!

technically (& i didn't even fully remember this!) the stars using 'we're not going home' as a rallying cry in the bubble didn't even originate with dobby!!! joel kiviranta said it first, after the stars beat colorado in game seven of the second round thanks to his overtime game-winning hat-trick goal.

the stars' player of the game token at the time was a chain with a big dallas logo in it; a long-haired roope rightfully handed it over to kivi, the room called for him to give a speech, and in response kivi said, 'fuckin' right. we're not going home!'

it became associated with dobby when he was given the player of the game token after the stars beat vegas in game five of the WCF, and succinctly said, 'WE'RE NOT GOING HOME!' before putting the chain on.

all the love to kivi but dobby just said it with a little more panache!! he'd presumably had more time to think on how he wanted to use the phrase!!! also, as you may or may not know, espn+ had a series called quest for the stanley cup for a couple of seasons (it looks like 2023 was the last, maybe because the amazon documentary series kind of took over last season? who knows) & the title of the fourth episode was 'we're not going home' & featured dobby's use of the phrase as a closer to its coverage of that series, which i think helped cement it as dobby's in general hockey media. sorry kivi. we will always have 'joel fucking kiviranta' though!

anyway. all that to say, it was very nostalgic to hear dobby say it on tuesday!!!!!! it's such a Bubble Playoffs Phrase because it just .......... wouldn't really make sense as a rallying cry any other year. eliminated teams in 2020 left the bubble pretty immediately after getting eliminated so everyone could go home & go back to quarantining and waiting to hear what the league's plan was to return to play for the next season.

obviously most of the time, getting to go home during the playoffs is a good thing!! it's part of why teams want home ice advantage so much!!!

2020 flipped everything on its head though & turned being stuck in a hotel in edmonton for that much longer into a good thing. 'we're not going home' essentially just meant 'we're moving on to the next round' but it sounds so much cooler. dobby saying it on tuesday didn't literally mean 'we're not going home' so much as it meant 'we're moving on,' except that he was a game early so once more: can he please come back on saturday?? for the vibes???

i really wish i could easily put footnotes into a tumblr post but here are some sources:

Learned how many tasks i could do one handed with a chihuahua in the other

Bitch (pos) medium sized dog named Peep calmed down only when she cuddled up in my lap and fell asleep. Everytime I got up she'd just wag her tail and wait for me to return for more snuggles

New puppy doing his "Evaluation" day- decided four months was old enough to try and hump all the adult's (boys and girls so idk if it was a dominance thing). Half didn't care- the others corrected him HARSH but nessicary- (hes like a foot long MAX-) immune to the waterbottle and stearn "NO COSMO" s o- he passed, but my gosh he needs to lose ball privilages

Toxic lesbian situationship between Peep and the soon to be mentioned Mary- kept getting in almost brawls but when id put one up the other would lay by the kennel and whine or try and BITE THROUGH. Let them out? They wag and circle and play nice for all of five minutes before trying to kill eachother again

Five near identical black dogs- I just kept cycling through the names until I was surrounded (I can tell them apart NOW- but in a mess- no.)

Also a trio of identical beige/tan dogs with identical black face markings- even harder to tell apart. Literally one had been kenneled most of the afternoon post vet appt and when she was let in I straight up DIDNT notice she was new

Beagle named Zuzu- got put in a top condo kennel for a overstim timeout- then when I tried to coax her out, realized what I was doing and flipped around so fast she accidently bodyslammed into my jaw and made my tounge bleed (I dont blame her ofc- but in retrospect it was hilarious hearing the perspective of my coworker who just head "That it Zuzu cmer- AAUHSG" and then watched me crumble)

Dobby. Everytime he left my line of sight, I knew not to look around no- Look to the hallway. Because our doors are split in the center to swing open the top and THIS LITTLE SHIT kept JUMPING- and hes TINY- literally like four times his height he can jump. He did it so often and didnt get into shit everyone just accepted he was now a hallway dog just hanging out on the scale and stalking front desk.

Forgot about the daily activity- my coworker whips out the bubble machine to spam some pictures. Half the dogs were TERIFFIED. Including a trio that stood in a line and barked at the bubbles like a literal peanut gallery. But also an older golden retriver named Lola who was OBSESSED and out of the seven hours in my care she used all her energy to devour mouthfuls of bubbles

My favorite dog from my VERY first training shift came up as soon as my shift started- I didnt recognize him until I was reading his tag. HIS NAME IS RITTER- LIKE A FRITTER- HES A LIL CHOCO LAB AND SJHQIYGDIOH HES SO SWEET (when not insisting his paws must be ON ME to be pet)

Everytime I feel something push between my legs I dont even blink just look down and like calf level is a STOUT bulldog named Peaches and its just "Hi peaches" as she cranes her chubby lil neck up. She doesnt want anything- just to be there

Spiderman- a foster and one of said identical black dogs with an underbite, I was unfortunate to discover his new humping fixation but more so do you know how much it hurst to be headbutt from a dog with an UNDERBITE??

Shuffle running with my back against the wall because I have a chihuahua in one arm, a yorkie in the other, and one of the tan mutts named Mary who was FIXATED on trying to fit them in her mouth now they were in the air. Thankfully stopped when I fixed my water bottle

Oh also giant thunderstorm, almost lost power- found out VERY FAST which dogs were NOT a fan of storms including one very big and grumpy old man named Sandy who lord could he HOWL- also couldnt move because of how many were pressed against my legs for comfort- which is sweet- outside of the whole cant move part

Definetely noticed how much I am learning about the game through trial and error. Some details I just don't notice, until a certain moment where it clicks in my head.

Earlier this morning I rewatched the videos from the developers and noticed they did show closeups of a few crew members, including Muir and I was like- Wait, that's him!

I remember watching that video before, but not quite understanding who these characters were, or maybe the way they got rendered threw me off.

Seeing how much I am learning here makes me wonder, how come I don't do the same with other topics? There is so much I could learn, if I had the motivation or the drive. It's hard on some days.

Either way, I feel like making a small post for myself with various links/image references. At one point I have to make a mega post to link each of my research posts, so that it's easier to pinpoint.

*In the Cantines I noticed another person that looks similar to the model, that I linked to Innes. Tho that person wears a red suit, while Innes wears blue. Tho I still think the above pictures fit for Innes, we never get to see him without his hat. So it's hard to say for me.

What I also did was looking through reddit to find tiny pieces of information here and there. I am not sure how deep I want to dive in for this game, considering it's quite time consuming to check small details (replaying the entire game again each time). But here are two Screenshots I grabbed from TheChineseRoom's comments on Reddit.

And of course their Youtube Channel has a bunch of Videos about Behind the Scenes. Quite interesting listening through them. Helps me to get a small glimpse into the Industry and how things work.

Act I FINALE

This was it. The last two battles of his portion of the gauntlet.

He hefted his crook, the worn wood smooth beneath his touch.

The Angel.

A fitting name for such a terrifying creature.

It hovered above him, a demonic caricature of celestial beauty.

A hairless, floating head, its skin the color of bone, its white eyes burning with a red, piercing iris. And the mouth... an abyss filled with razorous teeth that promised agonizing pain.

It could float, too. Dance just out of reach, prolonging Kinger's torment.

He stared up at it, his mind racing. He couldn't pin it. He needed a strategy, a weakness. He missed Bone Pastor.

His "Crossed Out" friend, advisor, and confidante.

Bone Pastor, with his macabre wisdom, would know what to do. But Bone Pastor was not saying anything, a ghost in the machine.

The Angel unleashed a blinding burst of light.

Kinger staggered back, momentarily stunned.

Taking advantage of his disorientation, the Angel lunged.

He swung his crook blindly, desperately.

He connected with something… himself. He stumbled, hitting the ground hard.

Just as the Angel descended, its terrifying maw open wide, a familiar figure materialized beside him.

Bone Pastor.

His skeletal frame shimmered into existence, his eye sockets blazing with righteous fury.

In his hand, he wielded Bone Marrow, his signature sword, its edges gleaming with unholy light.

With a grunt, Bone Pastor plunged the sword between the Angel's eyes. Cold steel tore through ethereal flesh.

Black blood, thick and viscous, poured from the wound.

The Angel screamed, a high-pitched, ear-splitting shriek that echoed through the arena.

It crashed to the ground, its glowing eyes fading.

A roar ripped through the air.

Xaine.

He slammed his hands against the arena's invisible barrier, his face contorted with rage.

"NO!" He charged into the arena, his eyes fixed on Bone Pastor.

He lunged to capture him, but Bone Pastor merely flickered, a glitch in the system, and vanished as quickly as he appeared.

The Angel lay still, a broken statue of false divinity.

Xaine, seething, grabbed Kinger by his royal robes. His fingers dug into the fabric.

"You have one chance, Kinger! ONE! Win the gauntlet, or you're getting Crossed Out. Don't trust Bone Pastor and his petty revenge tactics. He got Crossed Out because he let jealousy consume him!"

Xaine's voice dripped with scorn. "You're a lost cause, Kinger. A pathetic imitation of power."

He raised his hand, the air crackling with energy. He was about to do it. To Cross Kinger Out.

Then, a voice, clear and strong, cut through the tension. "Take me instead!"

Queenie. She stepped forward, her painted smile trembling slightly. Xaine stared at her, dumbfounded. "What?"

Queenie stood her ground. "He deserves another chance, Xaine. I insist."

Kinger tried to protest, but Queenie shook her head, her eyes filled with a love that made his circuits ache. "You are more powerful than you think, Kinger. You will be okay."

The ultimate sacrifice.

Xaine threw Kinger to the ground. "Pathetic!" he spat. "The warriors I create, turning on me for what? A love act??" He snapped.

The air shimmered, distorted. With a guttural cry, Xaine unleashed his power.

Queenie screamed, her body glitching, contorting, before... popping out of existence. Gone.

Ragatha covered her mouth, her painted eyes wide with horror. Jaxx and Yucko stared in stunned silence.

Xaine looked at them, his face a mask of fury.

"Complete Reset imminent!" He vanished, a digital wraith, and pressed the reset button.

But first, he manipulated the code. Kinger, Ragatha, Jaxx, and Yucko regained their memories of each other.

He shackled them together, their pasts intertwined.

But he also erased everything else.

Dobby, Squiggles, Cal, Queenie... and especially Bone Pastor.

All gone, lost to the ether.

Love your work, especially God of the Machine and Painting Red Madonnas, and I was just wondering if there were any scenes you wanted to put in that just wouldn't work with any of your pieces. I think I remember you wrote once in your advice for writing that you found yourself treading old ground a couple times, and though my own personal response to that is the whole 'holy shit, two cakes!' spiel, I can understand getting bored making the same cake twice. But also, life is short, and always getting shorter, so I'm asking for whatever crumbs that might both exist and that you're willing to spare. Side note, I'm hearing John Waite's Missing You every time I think about where you left off in The Art of Being Sisyphus. Love the school uniform in The Heart of the World.

I've said what I've said already, I've made my point somewhere else and probably made it better than trying to make it again. Writing what is ultimately the same story is just copying myself, but likely doing a worse job than I did in the first place. I'd find myself paraphrasing what I've already said, working in circles not to quote myself exactly.

As for if I have any of these unpublished treasures lying around, sadly not really.

There's a lot of deleted/not posted stuff for Man Who Would Be King, written with @therealvinelle, but the thing is we didn't post it/it ended up sacked because it just wasn't what we needed/wasn't good enough. This is an odd thing for me to say but it's not really worth posting anywhere because what we did post was better. You've seen the better fic, it's what ended up on the internet.

There's also a lot of things I've written in fics, chapters here and there, where I go "god, this was a bad chapter" and just have to wince every time I read it. Since you mentioned Lily and the Art of Being Sisyphus, the Dobby chapter is one I deeply regret and one @therealvinelle gives me constant, deserved, shit over. It was a truly awful chapter.

Otherwise, for the fics you mention--if I didn't post something, or had to rewrite something, it ended up deleted. I didn't save half-written chapters or have extra things lying around, so I sadly don't have anything on hand either.

I'd say the closest you'll get is the stuff here on tumblr. There's a lot of headcanons or "what would happen" or that sort of thing that ultimately aren't interesting or fleshed enough out to become their own fics.

At the forefront was India’s rapidly transforming textile manufacturing landscape, with automation, sustainability, and innovation steering the conversation. Leading buyers and manufacturing brands engaged in direct sourcing and dialogue with top machinery suppliers and fabric producers.

Mr Sourav Jalan, Director and Promoter, Syama Denims, noted: “This is a good opportunity to interact with new-age D2C brands who often don’t get a chance to meet mills directly. Gartex always brings customers and suppliers under one roof, and we’ve been happy to return year after year.”

Mr Aamir Akhtar, Group President and CEO, Jindal Worldwide Ltd, added: “We use water-saving technologies in our new premium line, ‘Formula 1,’ and recover used water through a zero-liquid discharge plant. The experience here is very well organised — a benchmark for the Indian trade.”

Mr Harish Agarwal, Owner, Bhagwati Chemicals, stated: “The show gave us strong leads beyond denims. With four decades of experience in supplying dyes and chemicals, this platform proved beneficial to us, especially with deep technical inquiries from buyers.”

Mr B Vinod Kumar, General Manager – Denim & Casual Bottoms, Arvind Fashions, remarked: “Massive machines were showcased, which we usually can’t see outside manufacturing setups. Bringing that to a common platform is a job well done.”

Mr Sreehari Krishnan, Director – Plant Operations & Quality, Bewakoof Brands Pvt Ltd, shared: “We came to explore denims and printing accessories. There are amazing new developments like HD stickers and embroidery, and lightweight dobby denim fabrics perfect for summers.”

Product Technology & Innovation in Focus

Expressing their satisfaction on the show, exhibitors also highlighted breakthrough machinery and processes driving efficiency, sustainability and cost savings in textile production. Mr Nitin Mathur, Regional Sales Manager, IIGM Private Limited: “The exhibition saw excellent footfall and strong interest in automation, even among small businesses, as labour costs rise.”

Mr Sai Navneethan, Regional Head – Sustainable Products, Ramsons Garment Finishing Equipment Pvt Ltd, “Automation is key for high-volume garment finishing. PLC-controlled systems also create more opportunities for women to lead in operations.”

Ms Ujjwala Upadhyay, Brand Manager, Insight Print Communications Pvt Ltd represented Mimaki’s dye sublimation machines. She said: “We are here to connect with potential clients across sportswear, home furnishings, and signage. With growing focus on sustainability, consumers are looking at the ethos of the organisations while buying. This year, we’ve seen strong footfall at Gartex.”

Mr S Eswaran, Product Head-Duerkopp Adler & PFAFF, Mehala Machines presented automation solutions from Duerkopp Adler, Germany, noting significant visitor engagement and interest in their offerings. He stated: “Gartex Texprocess India Mumbai edition was very well organised. The location of our stall is also good as we received a very good visitor turnout. We had also invited many of our potential clients and most of them visited were interested to find out automation solutions.”

Backed by strong industry support, especially from the Denim Manufacturers Association, Gartex Texprocess India continues to evolve as a robust sourcing and innovation hub.
