Natalie Scatorccio and Dot Campbell

Rebellious, deadpan and sarcastic, traumatized from their fathers, complicated relationships with drugs, had to grow up too fast and raise themselves, compassionate and caring, good survival instincts in the wild due to already being in survival mode in their troubled home environments.

Shauna Shipman and Leah Rilke

Obsessive (tend to idolize and obsess over a particular person, as Shauna does with Jackie and Leah does with Jeffrey), smart and observant, unhealthy/rocky relationships, feeling invisible, sweet with a darkness underneath the surface, need to be loved, (also both fucking people named Jeff?)

Misty Quigley and Nora Reid

Socially awkward, have a hard time fitting in, unhinged, highly intelligent and knowledgeable about a wide range of topics, manipulative, and they are both the reason their friends are stranded (Misty broke the black box and Nora helped set up the experiment).

Taissa Turner and Rachel Reid

Ambitious, determined (sometimes to a fault as this determination to succeed can hurt themselves and/or those around them as we see with Tai breaking Allie’s leg and driving herself mad with her political campaign and Rachel’s ED/almost drowning Leah for the sake of finding the black box), smart, headstrong and stubborn, reliable and loyal, hard working.

Lottie Matthews and Martha Blackburn

Spiritual and in touch with nature, both have visions and hallucinations, kind and good-natured, healing, both have a tendency to comfort and heal others (the parallels between the Lottie and Travis panic attack scene and the Martha and Rachel scene where Rachel is stuck in quicksand are so strong), both have a connection to a person tragically lost after the crash and are guided by dreams/visions of this person (Lottie with Laura Lee and Martha with Jeanette).

Leah

-She's a huuuuuge theater kid at heart and has always wanted to be an actress but never rlly took it seriously until Toni encouraged her to follow her dreams

-The one thing she cannot do is cook. She will burn everything she makes

-Crochets and/or colors to relax

-She used to hate makeup bc it was yet another thing she felt like she had to do, but post-island, she's been doing a lot of creative eye makeup looks and loves using it as a way to express herself

-Is a huuuuuge Swiftie. Her favorite album is 100% folklore

Toni

-Has a secret stan Twitter account that only Martha and Shelby know about

-Follows women's soccer and basketball very closely

-Not a huge fan of school in general but she really likes science-----especially biology

-She loves paintball

-Tells dad jokes that are so bad they're good

-Says she's not a Swiftie but she is secretly a Lover stan

-Also crochets bc of Shelby. The two of them 100% have crocheting contests

Fatin

-Yells at the TV whenever someone does something dumb

Martha

-Pansexual

-Says she doesn't have a favorite animal but it's 100% guinea pigs

-Secretly loves rock music

-Generally not into sports but she's amazing at volleyball

-She comes up with rlly good comebacks but she's too nice to actually say any of them

-Her favorite color is pink

-Plays Animal Crossing

-She really likes gardening and painting

-Also a huge Taylor Swift fan. Her favorite album is Speak Now.

Nora

-Rlly funny but nobody knows bc she's quiet

-Reads and draws comics

-Avid gamer. She really likes the Zelda games

-Likes cats and otters

-She also really loves swimming and the water but she pretends not to so that can be Rachel's "thing"

-Favorite colors are grey and yellow

-Scares easily when it comes to horror movies

-Cannot carry a tune, no matter how hard she tries

In my opinion The boys island on the wilds would've been better if the boys were basically a genderbend of the girls.

I mean that in like a way where all their stories are similar because a lot of the stuff girls went through and their stories happen to boys too.

And I think it would've been a better story if we got to see how men deal with those issues and how men are raised and toxic masculinity

Like we get to see how men are taught and shown to deal with stuff and how different their experiences are.

Fatin and Leah get Dot cards every fathers day. It started as a joke because they both have pretty strained relationships with their actual fathers post island and Dot's like the next closest thing for them. It started with just silly happy fathers day texts and verbal greetings when they'd meet her in their kitchen for breakfast, but one year Fatin decides to get her a card to elevate the joke, and Dot has a very emotional reaction (due to her relationship to her own father and how much she misses him) and so the joke grows into a more sincere celebration of Dot and how grateful they are for how much she cares for them (above and beyond that of a typical friend) it's no longer a day where they commiserate over a loss of trust, the betrayal, etc. It's about love and respect, and how a family and community can take any form.
