Hypothetical for you all: You are given the ability to transform into an alternate, Mr. Hyde-esque version of yourself at will, but instead of just becoming a manifestation of your Id, you become an extreme, inverted version of your personality. For example, if you're more masculine you become hyperfeminine, if you're normally anxious you become hyperconfident, so on and so forth. Note that this doesn't actually change your gender or sex at all or anything like that, just your presentation and physicality in a more general sense. Also, it doesn't affect your morals at all, so don't worry about accidentally becoming super racist or something when you swap over.

You can do this at will, and it'll wear off within about 12 hours if you do so, but you have to swap to the other side at LEAST once a month, otherwise the magic that let's you do this will "back up" and make your next transformation last longer, doubling in length for every month you go without using it until eventually you forcefully transform and get stuck in the swap form for several weeks.

What do you do with this newfound ability? When would you use it, if ever? In what contexts would it be beneficial for you in your day to day, and in which ones could it cause problems? If you don't use it often, how do you plan to counteract the inevitable "swap build-up" that'll occur and eventually forcefully swap you for a long time?

Tl;Dr: You can swap into an extreme, inverted version of your personality at will, going from anxious to hyperconfident or masculine to hyperfeminine and vice versa with a thought. You have to do this swap voluntarily at least once a month, otherwise it builds and you'll be forced to stay transformed for several weeks while the effect wears off after a while. What do you do with this ability, where/when do you use it, and how do you deal with the transformation build-up?

is anybody else in here doing artfight? im (very messily) preparing for artfight right now and just bookmarking some characters for when it starts and i would love to have some more silly little science fellows to draw 🐀 i have a few bookmarked/on my list to draw for artfight already but im looking to yoink a few more jekylls/hydes to add to my list just incase i missed any

two different styles. trying to translate these awful designs, which i made when i was 12 or 13, into something... passable... is hard

I havw seen exactly two(2) people mention this AU and I love it so fucking much omg- Like, from a character drama stand point I think Lanyon becoming some kind of supernatural creature is more interesting, but Utterson as a big fluffy dog is sO FUCKING GOOD MAN IDC

Oh also there's some interesting character stuff in there to I guess. But mostly bIG FLUFFY UTTERSON GO BRRRRRRRRRR-

I based my design off of a schnauzer because my version of Utterson has, like, the perfect hair to translate onto a schnauzer lol
