on Dusts first mission to farmtale he was still at the point of learning English where he could kind of understand people and he could maybe have a conversation. so when Nightmare was explaining what they were going to do Dust low key didn’t know what was happening. like Horror just dragged him through a portal and then he was on the surface

and like Farm was doing trade stuff with Horror and Dust sees the chickens and wanders off. eventually Farm finds him and Dust is like “what’s their names?” pointing at the chickens. Farm lists the chicken names and one is named “chicken” but in Korean

and Dust just doubles over hysterically sobbing while the Horrors like “dude wtf did he say??”

so i dont think dust would use petnames often but i do think hed have like korean nicknames for all of the gang (plus red bcs. yes) and i needed to write them down b4 i forget

general im not korean n dont speak it n this is based off google rabbit holes so may be incorrect yeah 👍

Dust - Tokki (토끼) - Bunny

Horror - Gomdoli (곰돌이) - Cute Bear

Killer - Gil-Nyangi (길냥이) - Street Cat / Stray Cat

Cross - Gangaji (강아지) - Puppy

Nightmare - Mun-eo (문어) - Octopus

Error - Neoguli (너구리) - Raccoon (technically i think its raccoon dog but can be either)

Red - Jindo-gae (진돗개) - Jindo dog (breed of dog!! i thought it was fitting lol)

In the Pirate AU I said Dist learned English from Horror and Killer and Dust knows barely any and speaks in broken English

So, Dust is self conscious about his English and while Horror will help Dust say what he means, Killer will celebrate Dust for what he can say on his own

Cross and Nightmare are very understanding and expecting of it because they're first language is Spanish but unlike Dust they learned English from a tutor

Also none of them can actually teach Dust properly because none of them know Korean
