Fallout 4 companions as surgeons in a medical drama

This post has been brought to you by my old Grey's Anatomy hyperfixation clawing its way out out of the basement in my brain

Minus Strong because God no do not let Strong do surgery in any universe

Cait- Orthopedic surgeon, do not fuck up in her OR because it will not end well for you

Codsworth- Pediatric surgeon. He's very good with his paitents, good with teaching residents

Curie- Head of Cardio. Godlike in the OR, very passionate about her clinical trials.

Danse- Trauma surgeon. Used to be a surgeon in the military. Can save a guy you're sure is going to be dead.

Deacon- Plastic surgeon, focus on reconstructive surgery. Probably does free cleft pallet surgery for kids.

Hancock- Not technically a surgeon but Hancock is an anesthesiologist. Cracks jokes in the OR. Has probably "accidentally" taken drugs from work home with him.

Maccready- Surgical resident, interested in pediatric surgery.

Nick- Head of General Surgery. Has seen a lot of shit in all his years of being a surgeon, very little surprises him anymore. Very calm in the OR, if he's worried everyone is worried.

Preston- Heart Surgeon. Amazing bedside manner, probably cries when he loses a paitent, does probono surgery.

Piper- Another surgical resident like Maccready, not sure what she wants to specialize in. Potentially interested in neuro but a little scared of X6

X6-88- Neurosurgeon, hardly ever says a word in the OR, no one knows anything about his personal life. Scares the shit out of the residents. Very talented, it you ask him about his research he'll show emotion around you

Bonus

Gage- Gage lost his license to medical malpractice

Elder Maxon- Nepo Baby Resident. Piper and Maccready talk shit about him behind his back. X6 yelled at him in the OR and he will never live it down.

Desdemona- General surgeon, been there almost as long as Nick, she is so tired.

Father- Used to be the head of neuro, got fired for something that the board is keeping on the down low. Even acting head X6 doesn't know what exactly he did.

DiMA- Radiologist, doesn't seem to have left the scan room in months, does he live there?

Day 4: Tea

Jules perked up as he heard a light knock on his open room's door. He looked up from his book, sniffling up the ever-present congestion. "Hey Jules." Marty said as he stepped inside, a steaming cup in his hands. "Martin, what are you doing here?" he asked quietly, unaware that he had stopped by. "Your Dad told me you were sick, wanted to check in on you." he replied, sitting down on the bed. Jules put his book down, taking the cup handed to him. Now he could smell the wafting scent coming from it. "Peppermint tea?" he croaked, wincing from the pain in his throat. Marty gave a lopsided grin. "Heard it was good for your throat. And I figured you'd appreciate your favorite holiday drink." Jules smiled gratefully, blowing on the liquid's surface gently, watching the ripples ride across. He took a sip, the warmth sliding down his throat and into his stomach. He closed his eyes, enjoying the wonderful flavor and the momentary relief it provided. "Thank you." Jules said, voice already a little more open. "Winter sucks with all the colds." Marty remarked, putting his hands behind his head. "How are you holding up?" "It could be worse. At least I get a break from Verne, he's to afraid to come near me in case he got sick as well. Speaking of which, you shouldn't be near me either. You just as well could catch my cold." "Are you kidding?" Marty asked in surprise, looking down on the kid. "If I get sick, I get sick. But your my friend, I'm not going to stay away from you just because your under the weather." Jules looked down, a smile spreading on his face as a small bit of color returned to his cheeks. "That means a lot Martin." "Don't sweat it." Marty replied. "Your Dad said you should feel a lot better tomorrow. Today should be the worst of it." Jules took another sip of the tea, still thankful for it. "I do hope so, I despise being stuck in bed. Though at least it is the beginning of December before all of the holiday activities truly begin." "Getting sick around Christmas is the worst." Marty agreed before his eyes rested on the book still resting in Jules' lap. "Good book?" "Indeed." Jules answered, continuing to drink the tea, doing his best to not chug it. "Tell me about it." He looked up in surprise. "I don't think you would find it very interesting." "How do you know? You haven't told me about it yet." Jules looked into Marty's eyes, which were sincere. He gave a small smile. "Well, it takes place in the 1920s..."

越智浩仁 Hirohito Ochi is also one of those veteran artists who have been involved in the production of Detective Conan since the very beginning, with a style of his own. He has worked on a vast number of episodes, particularly those featuring the Detective Boys, and initially collaborated mainly with the Animation Director 大河原晴男 Haruo Ogawara in the early stages of the series production. Like his peer Masato Sato, he was also appointed as the series director (505 to 666) during an extremely difficult period, primarily working on openings and endings. One of the differences from the others is that he also wrote his own original scripts for the series, the most well-known being : Dracula's Villa Murder Case and A Cursed Mask Coldly Laughs.

Let's take a look at his work during Detective Conan's prime.

One of Ochi's distinctive traits is his use of experimental colored backgrounds in transition scenes, blending them with the tone and style he wants to convey. He incorporates onomatopoeia, manga speech bubbles, pastel pencil backgrounds, cartoonish scenes, and even typography. This use of almost childlike backgrounds not only adds style but also emphasizes the fact that Shinichi has the body of a child.

A diverse framing palette, offering a bit of everything…

With a preference for low-angle shots, often playing with Conan's size in the process.

Unlike Sato or Yamamoto, who make the scenes where Conan finds clues or is in a moment of reflection more dynamic, Ochi prefers static backgrounds with a blue gradient, even later in the anime.

He is also obsessed with the mid/late afternoons depiction, which can range from a simple orange to red.

What's interesting about the Ochi episodes is that they make full use of Gosho Aoyama's early artstyle. The scenes are very dynamic and exaggerated, using Masatomo Sudo's flexible designs to the fullest, with Ogawara further enhancing this sensation (where the adaptations of Magic Kaito have failed doing this, for example).

The scene in the top right, was animated by the very famous Character Designer 岸田 隆宏 Takahiro Kishida.

Ochi wrote, storyboarded, and directed episodes 88 and 89 Dracula's Villa Murder Case, which are of great quality. There are inspirations from Dezaki's direction (notably Oniisama E), which is not surprising because he is a reference for everyone, as well as from the Japanese movie Evil Dracula (the atmosphere, the hallways, the manor, the sofa in the center, etc...).

His creativity when it comes to adapting chapters has always been evident, using everything at his disposal, both in the framing and the photography : #176 opening scene.

Not to mention perhaps his most well-known episode, which he wrote, storyboarded, and directed : #184 A Cursed Mask Coldly Laughs. It takes everything from episodes 88 and 89 and elevates it : the atmosphere, the theme of the curse tied to the mask, the suspense, and an extremely unconventional way of solving the mystery, visually simple yet complex in practice, in a very Aoyama-esque manner. One could almost believe the episode was written by Aoyama himself, though that is not the case.
