Crack theory of the century:

Rapton = Clay. Maybe not the canonical Nexo Knights Clay, as Doc has remained adamant that Nexo Knights Does Not Exist in Ninjago, but a variation of him. Rapton, despite his Imperian attire, does not bear the same markings as all around him. The only other characters we know in Imperium to lack their markings are the younger, jobless ones, and the outlanders (such as Dorama and Ras.) Rapton clearly isn't younger or jobless, so is he an Imperian by birth? Maybe! But maybe he came from another realm before the Merge, maybe he was from Mysterium originally! He could have been a Knight of Mysterium before becoming a Claw of Imperium. Their hair and armor are similar (although that is just basic Imperian armor) and the color schemes are inverted (but that's just a general "good guy vs. bad guy" color scheme thing.)

We can make fun of Ninjago’s lessons all we want however I would be lying if I’d say I haven’t repeated “When there is no calm outside of you find the calm inside of you” during stressful situations (exams) and that it didn’t helped.
