Making a Scene Presents The Smart Indie Artist’s Guide to Music Marketing: Tools That Help You Find and Grow Your Fanbase If you’re an independent musician in 2025, you’re not just writing and recording songs—you’re a marketer, data analyst, and social media strategist all rolled into one. But don’t panic. You don’t need a marketing degree to promote your music like a pro. What you do need is the…

Hitting a wall with your WIP? Try writing about it.
Hot tip: Keep a journal about your writing. When you're feeling stuck, writing down your feelings and thoughts about your WIP can help you find creative solutions. You can use this journal for anything—waxing poetic about how much you love your characters, ranting about how frustrated you feel, exploring new plot ideas or problem areas. It can help if you do this longhand, with a pen, but anything works.
Some ideas of what to write in your writing journal:
Dreams
Random thoughts
Story ideas
Notes about your current WIP
Notes about a book you're reading, or a writer you'd like to emulate
Your feelings about your writing in general, or your current WIP
Plot ideas
Interesting conversations you'd had that you might want to steal for dialogue
Song lyrics that may one day inspire you to write a story
Literally anything that comes into your brain
If writing about writing isn't for you, try drawing or singing about it. Anything that switches up your brain and gives you a new perspective will be helpful. I had a writing teacher once who would have us pace around the room and monologue to ourselves. And I know of several musicians who draw their songs as a way to help them compose.
If you go the journaling route, consider buying a cheap journal. Sometimes buying a nice journal can fill a person with anxiety about what to write in it, because the journal is so… special. Go to the dollar store and buy a spiral bound notebook, or take some paper out of the recycling and staple it together. It might make you feel less intimidated about using it.
Hope this helps!

@skinnycaats alright, here are the results of my investigation: The Newsies Libretto is not an official 92sies libretto/script, but it is no less intriguing.
I'll start with why it's not official.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Newsies Libretto," pages 1-3.
There are several details on the first three pages of the libretto that drew my attention. First, the cover page which says "NOT FOR SALE PROPERTY OF Pikakee Music." There's also an address for New York and an email for a Philip L McBride. The same name is found on the second page where Philip McBride is credited for "Stage Adaptation and Score." Finally, there's a copyright and copyright warning with a "Music and Lyrics Copyright" dated 1992.
Compare this to the cover of a confirmed 1991 Newsies film script:
Tumblr media
1991 Newsies film script, page 1.
My thoughts were essentially:
Why is this libretto "property of Pikakee Music" when Newsies (1992) is the "property of Walt Disney Pictures" as stated in the lower right corner of the 1991 script?
What is "Pikatee Music" and who is Philip McBride?
Why is there a copyright for 1992 when all scripts would have been from 1991? (As evidenced by the list of revisions in the upper right corner of the 1991 script and by the fact that all filming for Newsies was completed in 1991.)
The most interesting thing, however, was the fact that this libretto by Philip McBride was a "Stage Adaptation." Upon looking further into the pdf, it became clear that this was in fact for a stage, not the silver screen.
Tumblr media
"Newsies Libretto," page 7.
Tumblr media
"Newsies Libretto," page 66.
The libretto is split into two acts and gives stage directions, but is very clearly based on the 1992 film. This isn't the official film, nor is it the 2011 musical, so where on earth did this come from?
Well, I looked up 'Philip L McBride' and 'Pikatee Music' and I found where on earth it came from. It came from... this guy?
Tumblr media
"About Me!" philiplmcbride.com.
According to his website, he is an actor and musician and Pikatee Music is his music publishing company. On his website he also provides his resume, which does not include writing Newsies scripts in his spare time. I personally would be boasting about it but you do you.
Though, there is one little thing about Mr. McBride's script that just might be damning, and it's the fact that he has included "Proud of Your Boy" that we know today from Broadway's Aladdin. (Which is actually wonderfully placed by the way!)
Tumblr media
"Newsies Libretto," page 57.
For some context, "Proud of Your Boy" was written back in the 90s by Howard Ashman for the original 1992 Aladdin, however it was cut. Howard Ashman was also supposed to do the lyrics for Newsies (1992) before he passed away and Jack Feldman took on the job instead. The song was reincorporated into Aladdin when the story was adapted into a stage musical in 2010 and eventually made it to Broadway in 2014.
For two decades the song lay abandoned, orphaned if you will.
But this guy (Philip McBride) decided to adopt "Proud of Your Boy" and put it into Newsies.
So here's my theory: this unofficial Newsies Libretto by Pikatee Music was written sometime between 1992 and 2010, before "Proud of Your Boy" was returned to Aladdin and before Newsies was officially turned into a stage musical in 2011.
It is my theory that this libretto was one of the "illegal" Newsies scripts for the stage that filled the void until Disney produced their official, licensable show.
Tumblr media
"Newsies - An Oral History: How it All Happened"
Basically, this literal, random guy is my hero and it's a shame that Disney passed him up for Harvey Fierstein.

Steve/Tony dating sim sign-up info & FAQ
If you haven't heard the news, there's going to be a free Steve/Tony multiverse dating game! (If you have heard the news, bear with us—this is a new announcement because we've updated a few things). Follow us on Tumblr to get the latest updates on development and launch and/or hang out with us on Discord as we make the game!
About the game
The Steve/Tony multiverse dating sim (name TBD) will be a visual novel-style game that’s mostly dialogue with some simple minigames thrown in. You'll play as a Steve or Tony from one of the many universes that exist who’s thrown into a rift in reality with a bunch of other Steves and Tonys. You’ll get to decide whom to work with to invent, fight, flirt, and date your way back home.
Who we are
We're a team of passionate Steve/Tony fans who have come together to write and illustrate the dating game of our dreams, coded by the wonderfully talented @v-thinks-on. You can read more about us here.
How this works
In order to make the game, we need writers for the player characters (characters you can choose to play the game as) and love interest characters (characters the player can interact with and romance), artists for the visuals, and more. Here's a brief summary of the process:
Love interest writers script a story arc for the player character to go on if the player selects that writer’s love interest character to date
Player character writers fill in the dialogue for their characters in the love interest scripts
Artists create the visuals of the game, including character art, backgrounds, and more, based on the scripts
For a more detailed overview of the game-making process and each team role, please refer to our FAQ.
How to apply to the team
Please email [email protected] with the following information:
Confirmation that you’re over 18 (just let us know you’re 18+; we’re not asking you to share personal info)
The best way(s) to contact you
And depending on which role you want to apply for, please include:
Writers (currently taking sign-ups for love interest writers only; we'll announce when we're open for player writer applications)
What character you’d like to write for (universe and name). If you have multiple, please order by preference. To help you choose, here is a list of universes we have writers for and available universes (if you want a universe not on this list, that means it's available)!
Do you want to write alone or with a partner(s)?
A writing sample focusing on Steve and Tony (link, attachment, or text in the email body), ideally with a good amount of dialogue. This doesn’t have to be a complete piece with a beginning, middle, and end; it's more to get a sense of your style and understanding of characterization, so all we ask is that it’s easy to follow. This can be something you’ve already written or you can write something new for this application. We don't have a minimum word requirement; if we need more from you, we'll let you know
Artists
We'll be sharing an interest check either the first or second week of April, so if you're an artist, watch this space! If you're not on Tumblr much and you're afraid of missing out, contact us and we'll add you to our mailing list
Project managers
Please state if you have any experience running events, projects, or games (either fandom or non-fandom is fine) and any skills you believe will be handy, e.g., you're amazing with Google Sheets, you're a scheduling and coordinating whiz, you can wrangle large groups
Availability: 1. Do you use Discord? and 2. How much time do you have to dedicate to being a project mod? While we don't have something going on every week and it's fine if you're busy sometimes, we need a go-getter who is easy to reach on Discord and can make sure the project progresses at a good clip
People with other skills
If you have any other skills that you think will help make the game better (for example, you’re a musician and you’d love to produce music for the game or you're a coder who'd love to help @v-thinks-on), get into contact with us.
Contact us
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions (don't forget our FAQ!). You can reach us by email, Discord, Tumblr Messenger, askbox, Twitter DM, or Bluesky DM. Thank you!

I know you probably get a flood of these questions weekly, but when can we expect a job opening announcement for future Lackadaisy animations?
I'm a bit reluctant to post openings for a couple of reasons. One is I'm trying to prioritize the people who already worked on the pilot. They put in the work to make the pilot possible, I want them to get a shot at the jobs.
The other reason is any time I open up publicly about jobs, I get flooded with emails. I get a lot of emails now even though I've posted nothing. Before the pilot released, every job opening received hundreds of submissions. And I WILL read and sort through every email that comes my way for a position (when we're looking), so when thousands come in (and it would be thousands as it would be so so much worse now) that would mean I'd have to spend weeks reading and sorting emails rather than helming production.
We do not have the budget to make that someone else's job. And I don't want to put it on my leads' shoulders either.
If/when we have future openings, I'll be letting my crew members know they can spread the word around. Then they'll be making postings in community spaces for people to respond to. That's what we did for the recent VA castings and it worked to reduce the number of responses to a more manageable number of folks who met the minimum requirements (good recording space and microphone). It still took three people sorting through a designated email for two weeks to sort everyone and make decisions.
So if you're interested in applying in the future, maintain your connections with other VAs/artists/musicians/etc and figure out where they're sharing job listings.
Does that mean there's zero chance of listings here or on other social media? No, but it can only happen if I know we have time to handle the flood.

But as I said, nothing about any of this surprised me. For 15 months, Australia’s Jewish community has been continuously reeling from attacks like this. On October 9, 2023, two days after Hamas murdered hundreds of Israelis, around 1,000 pro-Palestine activists gathered on the steps of Australia’s most iconic landmark, the Sydney Opera House—which had been lit up with the colors of the Israeli flag to show solidarity—and yelled “fuck the Jews” and “fuck Israel.” Even the organizer of the protest acknowledged that there were “vile antisemitic attendees.” There were also reportedly shouts of “gas the Jews.”
Since then, Australia has seen a huge uptick in antisemitic attacks. For instance, in February 2024, activists and journalists shared the contact details of hundreds of Jewish academics and creatives on social media—details taken from a WhatsApp group set up by and for Jewish professionals in the wake of October 7—in the interest of exposing “Zionists.” (Some of the Jews who were doxxed did not identify as Zionists.) Trolls subsequently used those contact details to harass and abuse Jews. After his name appeared on the list, 33-year-old musician Joshua Moshe received what his wife, Maggie May, described as “a level of hatred that I could never have expected from my community.”
At the time, the couple ran a gift shop together in Thornbury, a hipster suburb of Melbourne. Maggie May, who was converting to Orthodox Judaism at the time, said that they were bombarded with antisemitic abuse “by telephone, by post, by people coming to the store and screaming at us, by email, on both our private Instagram accounts. It was relentless.” Eventually, they relocated their store to another neighborhood.
A few months later, in June 2024, a Jewish member of parliament—the grandson of a refugee from Nazi Germany—was targeted. Activists smashed the windows of his office in Melbourne, and tried to light it on fire. The perpetrators wrote in red paint on the door, “Zionism is fascism.”
Then, just over a month ago—before dawn on December 6, 2024—the Orthodox Adass Israel synagogue in Melbourne was doused with flammable liquid and set on fire. No one has been arrested for this horrible act of arson. And just over a week ago, another synagogue—this one in Sydney—was defaced with red swastikas.
Finally, at 1 a.m. local time on Tuesday, a day care center in Sydney was set on fire, the fence spray-painted with that slogan, again: “Fuck the Jews.”
“The scene of a torched-out childcare center on the same block as a synagogue is completely heartbreaking,” said New South Wales premier Minns—who called the attack a “vicious hate crime.”
But too often, instead of unequivocal condemnation of antisemitic attacks, the reaction in Australia has been to quibble. For instance, after the October 9, 2023, rally in Sydney, a national debate raged over whether anyone had actually shouted, “Gas the Jews.” Pro-Palestine activists argued—and a police investigation eventually concluded—that people had actually been shouting, “Where’s the Jews,” as if this alternative is acceptable. Even the leader of the protest didn’t dispute that antisemitic acts had occurred, but this fact was drowned out during the debate.

Interview with the Vampire - A Vampire!Niklas Kvarforth/Reader One Shot Story.
Okay, besties! The first fic for my Vampire Soirée is here. And yeah, couldn't help myself with the title. Had to. Haha! Enjoy!
Tumblr media
Words - 4,293
Warnings - Smut below the cut, minors DNI!
“I really, really don’t want to do this.”
Your editor views you from across his desk with a mildly terse smirk. “I don’t care. You’re into the more extreme music, so therefore you get to interview him. You’re the natural choice, so go out there and get the job done.”
You know his word is final, nodding and moving from the small room that reeks of cheap coffee and your boss’s pungent body odour, returning to the main floor of the offices for the rock magazine you work for, slumping back down at your desk.
“Why me?” Indeed, why you. Likely, if you weren’t quite as revelling in acrimony, you’d see that your boss gave you the task of interviewing Niklas Kvarforth because he thinks you are nothing short of capable. You’d see the compliment in there, being trusted to secure something with the musician who is famed for either being extremely engaging with his interviewer – that is, if he likes them - or an absolute fucking nightmare if he doesn’t. It’s also very much dependent upon his mood, the amount of alcohol and drugs, or the lack of medication in his system, so you’ve garnered.
You decree right there and then not to meet him backstage, while he’d likely be revelling in the merriment of after show excess.
A few days pass, your flights booked, and an email received from Shining’s management, giving you a list of criteria you must meet in order for Niklas to be willing to meet with you. At least it won’t be after a show, which makes your insides relax a little. But it will be in a bar. Eeep.
Niklas will only meet the interviewer at night.
The interviewer is requested to come alone.
The interviewer is requested not to wear any strong perfume.
The interviewer is requested not to wear any items comprising of silver.
“Is he for real?” You mutter, thinking his demands to border on slightly diva-like. No silver or strong perfume? You wonder why, but then remember who you’re interviewing. He isn’t a run of the mill kind of person by any stretch of the imagination. A return email is sent confirming you will adhere to these requests, receiving the information on the exact time and location a short while later.
‘Tell the bar staff who you are there to see, and you will be shown to a private room.’
It feels ominous, but at 9pm on the date of the interview, feeling fresh from napping after your flight, you enter the bar and indeed tell the young man who greets you who you have a meeting with.
“Come with me, he’s waiting for you.”
You are escorted through the throngs of people, the bar itself not of modern build, everything carved wood, the smell earthy and rich. The noise begins to fade as you are led through two doorways out into a long, narrow room, bench seating flanking each wall, and a very tall man seated at a table in the far corner.
There sits Niklas Kvarforth, expectant, but unmoved by your arrival.
The energy of the room seems to radiate something you cannot quite put your finger on, but it emanates from him. It feels like both luminosity and a darkened abyss all at once, his eyes sharply focused upon you, your heart beginning to thunder rapidly. You’re unsure why, when he hasn’t even made a move, nor uttered a single word.
“Niklas,” you begin, recovering yourself, the bartender leaving. “Pleased to meet you, I’m...”
“I know who you are.” Extending a large hand, he gestures across the table. “Sit.” That voice. It’s a rumble of thunder, the growl of a bear, yet no matter how deep in baritone, he uses little in the way of volume to enunciate.
Taking a seat, you retrieve your phone from your bag and set it to record, placing it down upon the table. His eyes still haven’t left you, a burning blue stare, unblinking, unflinching, twinkling in the very low light of the room. He then reaches for the wine bottle at the side of the table, pouring out a glass and sliding it across the smooth wood.
“A two thousand and eighteen Merlot,” he begins, nodding at the glass. “I’m told it is a good year.”
Picking it up, you take a sip. It very much is. “A good guess, too. I like a nice, smooth red.”
The corner of his mouth twitches a fraction. “It wasn’t a guess. Social media provides a plethora of information to those wishing to seek it.” So, he found your Instagram, then. You should have known he’d probably research you prior to your meet. “But even if I had not, I would know you drank a glass not so long ago. Perhaps not of the same quality as this, but you did imbibe.”
You cock your head curiously. “How could you know that?”
“I can smell it on you.”
Your eyebrows pinch in slight frown. “That’s one hell of a keen sense of smell.” Taking another sip, the velvety liquid slides down your through, Niklas still studying you intently. “Are you not joining me in a glass?”
“It is, and no,” he begins, lacing his fingers together upon the table. “I don’t drink... wine, any longer.”
A curious response from a man who seems very much to enjoy a drop of anything alcoholic. More than a drop, in fact. “What’s your poison now?”
His eyes flit to the side of your neck momentarily, the rest of him remaining so still, it’s a little unnerving. “I have but one vice, driven out of necessity. It cannot be said I do not enjoy that necessity, though.” So, he’s choosing to be cryptic tonight. “Yes, I am being evasive on purpose, but you knew that I would be, didn’t you?”
A slightly sinister grin begins to widen his mouth, while you sit there and wonder how on earth he can seemingly read your thoughts so well. “The human face tells of exactly what ticks through the mind. In case you wondered.”
You know what he’s doing, attempting to unnerve you a little and likely use that to his advantage. Studying his interviews of the past, you’ve witnessed him do it before. He gets inside someone’s head through either unsettling or charming them. You would be lying if you said you did not wish for him to perhaps use a little of the latter, just for fun. Video footage and photographs do not do justice to how attractive the man is in the flesh.
A professional you may be, but who doesn’t enjoy being charmed a little by a fascinating, attractive musician? Still, you opt to at least attempt in playing your cards close to your chest.
“I didn’t,” you speak, and he laughs, a small burst of sound through his nose. He sees the hand you hold. Of course, he does.
“Yes, you did. Do not lie to me. I will see it.” Leaning forward slowly, his eyes fix upon yours again, pupils widening just a touch, your throat feeling tight. “Ask me your first question.”
Swallowing, you match his unblinking stare, drawing yourself up a little taller. “If you were one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, who would you be?”
He studies you intently, almost like he didn’t hear you for a moment. “She seats herself at my table and actually asks me something interesting.” His lips curl into a small smile, his index finger tracing over a knot in the wood upon the table. “A rarity these days, to not be questioned over the same mundane things I have given answers to a hundred times before.”
You made sure not to while compiling your questions, each of which you have memorised well in advance of this night. He looks to ponder it for a few seconds, glancing away from you momentarily before his eyes snap back. “Who do you think I embody the most?”
Your reply is immediate, without hesitation. “All of them.”
“Why?”
“Your music could be constituted as a war cry, famine you’d likely thrive upon from your well-documented enjoyment of human suffering, plague is perhaps akin to how Shining’s music has spread, and death is what fascinates you.”
He cocks his head a little, his smile growing. “I like you.”
Much better than being disliked by the man, you suppose. “Any specific reason?”
“You see me,” he begins, laughing a little darkly, “or at least, as much as I allow you to.” He contemplates his next words, his eyes not leaving yours. God, the intensity of his gaze. It's about as thrilling as it is genuinely terrifying and yet, you aren't at all sure why he scares you. There is something so very inexplicable about him, his aura, the way he sits in such eerie, almost unflinching stillness. He hasn’t even blinked yet. “I get the sense you shall not bore me. I would say to death, but I am there already.”
“Your fascination, yes?”
Another rumble of laughter sounds. “A certain curiosity, you could say.” Again, he leans a fraction close across the table. “Next question. Make it good.”
“If Shining’s music began in any other era, do you think it would have had the same impact, or do you feel it transcends the zeitgeist no matter what?”
Once more, he smiles. “I definitely like you.” Picking up the bottle, he tops up your glass. “Drink your wine, and I will talk.”
Oh, and talk he does, the interview feeling less like something of structure, and more like an in-depth conversation about everything. Life, death, music, art, triumph, suffering; you cover all bases together. He fascinates you even more than you first assumed he would, too, yet there is still something about him that you cannot put your finger on, and it’s bugging you.
“You still have questions you seek an answer for.”
There he is again, seemingly peering right into your mind. “I do, yeah. It feels like something that doesn’t have a definitive question, though. Does that make sense?”
Lifting his chin, he shrugs, ever so slightly. “If you’d been paying attention, you would probably have your answer by now. I have dropped some subtle hints, here and there.”
He playing with you, but you cannot pull yourself out of the fascination, of the thirst to know what it is about him exactly that makes him so different. Yet still, you struggle to form the actual question itself.
“If I’ve missed them, why don’t you just come out and tell me?” you ask, Niklas humming amusedly, reaching out to run a fingertip down your cheek. The room might be warm, yet his skin is stone cold.
“Where would the fun be in that?” Yep. He’s definitely playing with you for his own levity. It annoys you too, that you actually enjoy it. “Would you like for me to show you, the answer to the question you are yet to ask?”
You nod, swallowing hard, wondering what it is you’ll be shown. “How?”
“Meet me at the front of the bar.”
It’s close to closing time anyway, so with your curiosity piqued, you finish your wine and pick up your phone, turning the recording off. Placing it in your bag, you smile, turning to leave the room, moving back through the bar. Struggling to get past the group of people milling around the entrance, you finally push through, swinging the door open and there on the other side, seeing Niklas waiting for you.
How did he...
“Hello, again.”
“How on earth did you get past me?” you frown. Even if he’d left via a back exit to the bar, you would have noticed him walking the length of the building, with its floor to ceiling windows bordering it, in order to reach the front before you.
“I move very quickly.”
You raise an eyebrow. “It’s... it isn’t possible, for you to have reached the front before I did. I would have noticed you. You’d need to move within the blink of an eye!”
He chuckles at your shrill tone. “Indeed, I would.”
You’re caught in his gaze again, shaking your head, your heart starting to hammer. Blinking rapidly, you gasp when suddenly, he’s vanished right before your eyes. A finger taps your shoulder.
“Hello, again.”
Spinning, you almost die of fright to see him behind you, your throat constricting. “Wh-what the fuck did you put in-in my dr-drink?” you stammer, perplexed to know what drug he’s obviously laced the wine with, making you hallucinate to this magnitude.
His eyes narrow, lifting his chin. “Nothing. You can trust what you see.”
“But, but,” you begin, pointing at him. “People cannot move that quickly.”
“Correct. Humans cannot, but I ceased being human a while ago.” He waits, watching as you try and piece it all together.
He requested you meet him at night only.
No silver jewellery.
Sharp sense of smell, hence now why you realise he insisted you not wear strong perfume.
He didn’t drink. Anything.
“I have but one vice, driven out of necessity.”
“I get the sense you shall not bore me. I would say to death, but I am there already.”
And he moves faster than your eye can detect. He cannot be, though! What your brain is suggesting, it isn’t feasible. It isn’t possible! It’s folklore, mere stories, because you cannot, you just can’t be standing right there in front of a vampire.
“I see the pieces have clicked into place. Finally,” he drawls, smirking a little. “Or do I need to give you exactly what you want to see?”
“I... I...” you breathe, your mouth dropping open.
He rolls his eyes, a little twitch of his top lip preceding two long, sharp fangs to pop out from his gums, a sight that makes you squeak as you clasp your hand over your mouth. “There. Convinced now?”
“Oh my... oh... fuck.” You should be terrified, and truly there is a slither of fear slicing right through your insides, but it’s overrode by a wash of curiosity, of wonder. There you are, standing in front of a real-life creature of the night.
You did wonder why Shining ceased playing at festivals in the daytime suddenly a few years before. Now you have your answer.
“I...” you begin, reaching towards his mouth. “Can I touch them? How sharp are they?”
It isn’t the reaction he was expecting, but your sheer wonder does amuse him on some level. “Feel for yourself.”
Your index finger prods against one of those pointed teeth, your skin broken immediately. It didn’t hurt, but it took you by enough surprise to pull your hand away, Niklas grasping your wrist and sucking your finger into his mouth.
“That Merlot tastes very good in your blood,” he speaks, finally releasing your finger from between his lips, eyeing you with radiating intent as you feel your body prickle with goosepimples, your nipples standing hard. All from having your fingertip in his mouth. Wow. “It’s making me hungry.” keeping hold of your hand, he moves his mouth to your wrist, tongue circling, pressing a kiss against where your pulse flutters madly. “May I?”
“You don’t strike me as the type to ask,” you quip, your body beginning to tremble, especially when he places a second kiss to your inner wrist.
“Although I love hunting down humans, scared blood tastes bitter. A willing donor is much more palatable.”
Nodding dumbly, the consent falls from your mouth before you’ve even processed it properly. “Okay, yes you can.”
Keeping hold of your hand, his other arm slides around you. “Not here.” His grip tightens and before you know it, he’s moved you within the blink of an eye to the alleyway that borders two buildings opposite the bar. Once again, he lifts your wrist to his mouth, the glint of his eyes like pale sapphires shining at you through the dark, another kiss placed before the burn of fangs pierces your flesh. It hurts, but god, the glimmers it drives through you, his mouth locked onto the wound strongly, sucking back your blood with a groan of pleasure.
Your insides virtually turn themselves inside out, hearing that.
Biting onto his own lip, he presses a bloodied kiss against the two puncture wounds in your wrist, the miraculous feeling of the wound closing making you feel completely spellbound as his blood heals you, his tongue working languidly over your flesh to lick it clean.
He licks his crimson lips, leaning down to you. “Thank you.”
You blink, and he’s gone, leaving you there breathless, perhaps even a touch deflated. He abandons you to the night, heart hammering, feeling awestruck, and that’s it? He’s just gone into the dark? He truly owes you nothing more, though. No explanation, no goodbye. Your interview was concluded, everything needed for your article to be written, leaving you only to steady yourself and call an Uber to return to your hotel.
It bothers you every single moment of the ride back there, all the questions you could have asked him, like when exactly he was made vampire, why he chose that, whether or not anybody else knows, and so, so much more. It also incenses you because of the burning ache deep within that his feeding on you left, yet to abate.
Do vampires still even have sex? Can they? They’re dead, so is desire still even a driving force within them, beyond that to feed?
All these questions and no big, handsome vampire there to answer them. Damn him.
Back at your hotel, you strip to your underwear, removing your makeup and cleaning your teeth before crawling beneath the covers. The bed linen is soft and crisply laundered, welcoming your body as you lie down and check your messages before turning off the bedside lamp. Sleep, as you soon discover, is a futile wish in light of what you now know, your brain buzzing, your body still humming from it all.
From him.
God, the way you felt as he fed upon you. It makes your nipples tighten just to remember it, your hands beginning to wander, knowing that unless you do something to sate the desire he stirred within you, you shall remain restless for the remainder of the night. With each sweeping caress, you imagine it is his cool hands exploring you, your arousal amping sharply, closing your eyes and seeing him there, imagining what it is to be pinned beneath him.
One hand clamps at your breast, the other wandering between your legs, slick anticipation waiting as you begin to stroke the petals of your sex with a soft moan, knowing the thoughts of him there with you in the bed will act as a suitably torrid fantasy for a time to come. Oh, if only... if only.
Tap, tap, tap.
Mildly annoyed by the disturbance, you frown towards the door, wondering why the hell you’re being disturbed at gone midnight, ignoring it at first. Your fingers continue their rhythmic stroking, your arousal once again blooming, sighing into the dark as you hope whoever is on the other side of the door simply has the wrong room.
Tap, tap, tap. This time louder than before.
Flinging the covers back, you huff, striding towards the door with a frown pinching your brows, looking through the small spy hole. Your heart almost crashes out of your chest, opening the door immediately, the tall form of the vampire who left you burning in your frustration looming over you as he steps inside the room.
“What are you doing here?”
He leans to you, two fingers running along either side of your jaw, tilting your head back. “Answering your call.”
“But I didn’t call you?” you speak, feeling like his presence is sucking the air from your lungs, the energy coming from him radiating with dark, swirling lust.
“No, you didn’t.” He leans to you, lips pressing a kiss against your neck, setting your blood to burn with the need for him, his hands grasping your bra to tear it open. “But your body did.” He lifts you with ease, and you wrap your legs around him, clutching his face in your hands as you lean, offering your mouth to his.
And fuck. The way he kisses you? He might be dead, but you feel like you’ve just been smacked in the chest with a live wire.
His mouth rains cold heat over you, placed upon the bed, Niklas looking down at you for a moment while his hands smooth over your skin. A sudden flurry of rapid movement renders him naked, your underwear torn from you, his hands parting your thighs to settle himself between them. You shiver at the feel of cold skin pressing against your warmth, your hands trailing over the dark blonde hair smattered over his wide, tattooed chest, his hand grasping your jaw to tip your head back, mouth closing in a kiss that evokes nothing but heat.
The sound he makes while delighting your throat with such attention is all beast, a primal, rattling growl, eerie and inhuman. You know you should be unsettled, fear the fact that you have what you now understand to be the greatest apex predator on earth between your legs, but oh, no. Fear is the furthest thing you experience beneath him, desire cording through you as his mouth scatters kisses steeped in blinding sensuality over every inch of your body, descending, tongue running up your thigh as he stares up at you.
His eyes close, long, dark blonde lashes concealing the blue fire within, mouth reaching your aching slit finally, his tongue diving in with hunger. The flush of pleasure is immediate, evoked by long, dragging licks, his groans still gravelled in predatory grit. The tip of his tongue seeks your clit, flicking gently to begin, sucking, taking the contact away to make you keen, returning it with a driving beat that sends embers skittering up your spine.
He consumes you carnivorously, nothing gentle about the way his mouth rains utter ruin upon you, your back arched like the bend in a riverbank as you gasp and cry out. The way he moves his tongue against your bud is unlike anything you’ve ever felt, quickening, until it moves at an unnatural speed; for a human, at least. He isn’t one, though.
“Oh shit, oh!” you wail, clutching his head, your nails digging in. “Fuck, that’s incredible! How the fuck can you move your tongue so fucking quickly?”
He rumbles an amused chuckle, sucking on you again. “You’ve seen how fast I move. That extends to all of me.” More rapid flickers follow, speedy, wet heat driving you to the place of complete nirvana, coming hard as the dew of your orgasm floods his tongue.
You’re suddenly moved, faster than you can comprehend, finding yourself astride him, Niklas steering his cock to your streaming cunt, a hand clutching your neck as he pulls you down onto it, every last inch slipping in with ease. “And if you think the way I ate you was quick, just wait until you see the speed I’m going to bounce you on my cock.”
One hand remains upon your neck, the other splayed on your back as he clasps you to him tightly, moving steadily to begin with, staring at you with burning desire, his fangs shooting out as he groans, all hellfire and sin. “Fuck, you feel good, little human.”
He kisses you, your lips and tongue scratched by the sharp of his teeth, kisses all burning sanguine and dark lust, his growl making your skin prickle with goosepimples. The rolling rhythm of it sends lightning darting up your spine, his mouth moving to your throat, kisses pressed, the accompanying graze of fangs making your nipples furl tight, the pain of him suddenly biting into your neck sending a neon blaze to glimmer through the very blood he drinks upon thirstily.
Oh, how scintillating the pleasure, to be fucked and fed upon by the predator between your legs at the same time, his body beginning to move up beneath you rapidly, both arms clasping around you, the grip strong, his mouth licking the blood trails left behind as you cry out at every deep, quick punch of his thick cock.
He literally throws you around the room thereafter, holding you by your throat to the bed, fucking you so quickly, you feel he’s about to go through you, moving you in a blink until you’re backed against a wall, clutching around him as he drives into you like a piston.
How it is to fuck a creature who doesn’t get tired.
It’s an inferno of celestial bonfire each time he makes you come for him, your body sweaty, blood streaked and exhausted by the time he finally forces his cock into your mouth, a cold jet of cum trickling down your throat.
You’re still floating far from yourself when you see him move rapidly, dressed once more in a blink, Niklas winking before in the next second, he’s vanished.
At least he left you nothing short of satisfied this time.
Upon checking out the following morning, the woman at the front desk hands an envelope to you, once which you wait until you’re in the Uber heading to the airport to read.
It should go without saying that you do not breathe a word over what I am to anyone. If you do, the next time I fuck you, you shan’t survive it.
I’d like you to survive it.
N.
Yes. That part of your night with him definitely won’t be going to print, lest you never experience it again.
A/N - Did you enjoy it? Please be sure to let me know what you thought and give me a reblog. It goes a long way, guys!

Timothée Chalamet's mom isn't surprised her kids have talent. She's more of a cheerleader than a 'momager.'
Tumblr media
She knew he was going to be a star before everyone else.
She knew it long before her then-teen son ambled onto the stage of the 1,150-seat auditorium at New York's LaGuardia High School with his baggy jeans falling off his lanky frame, stealing the annual talent show with his Lil' Timmy Tim rapper routine; before he made eating a peach an X-rated sex act in the coming-of-age film "Call Me By Your Name"; and before he'd flip his mop of wild chestnut curls and have a gaggle of girls scream his name.
In fact, as the mother of 29-year-old actor Timothée Chalamet, Nicole Flender knew he was going to be a success when he truly was a "complete unknown."
Before his baby face was on the cover of Time magazine, before he was the answer to a New York Times crossword puzzle, and long before his style made the best-dressed lists, he was just her son.
"He was a normal kid," Flender said. "He wanted to be a soccer star."
She knew the theater was his calling when the crowd went wild for his high school rap persona — and not just because she was a biased mom who recognized his spark. "Everybody loved it," she told Business Insider.
His star has certainly risen. He's played fighters, lovers, Willy Wonka, and even King Henry V. He's been in seven best picture Oscar-nominated films and twice been nominated for Academy Awards, for his performance as a lovestruck teen in "Call Me By Your Name" and as musician Bob Dylan in the biopic "A Complete Unknown."
Flender is often his plus-one on the red carpet. "The photographers love us," she said. "They always want me to get in the picture. They like to see a son who is close to his mother."
She's in a distinctive position as the mother of two stars. Timothée's sister, Pauline Chalamet, four years his senior, is an actor and a director who splits her time between Paris and Los Angeles. She recently starred in Mindy Kaling's HBO Max series, "The Sex Lives of College Girls."
Thanks to Pauline, Flender will celebrate her first Mother's Day as a grandma. "That's what I'll be called — it's what my grandmother was called and what my kids called my mom," she said.
Flender isn't surprised that her kids have talent. They come from a showbiz family. Their grandmother, Enid Flender, danced on Broadway in shows like "Kiss Me Kate," and their grandfather, Hal Flender, was an author and television writer who worked with many comedy greats, including Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, and Woody Allen.
She's a trained ballerina who spent years on national tours with musicals including "Fiddler" and "Gypsy." Her brother Rodman Flender, a child actor, has been a filmmaker and TV director for shows like "The Office" and "Ugly Betty."
Timothée was a performer at a young age, entertaining family, friends, and classmates. In elementary school, he did Disney commercials. In middle school, he appeared on "Law & Order." Flender excitedly emailed everyone she knew about his prime-time debut, even though his character was murdered in the first minutes of the show.
Flender modestly takes little credit for her kids' success. Both carved their own paths, she said. Pauline pursued ballet, starring in "The Nutcracker" at Lincoln Center with the School of American Ballet. "It was like training for the Olympics," Flender said. Now she has her own production company.
Timothée excelled at travel soccer, she said, and his chess, sports, and Tae Kwon Do trophies still adorn the shelves in her theater district apartment, along with his acting awards.
Known as "Timmy" to his friends and family, she called him "Tiny Tim" or "Toothless Tim" and later "Tall Tim" on family holiday cards, depending on his current status.
"He's always been independent," she said. At 17, Timothée had his parents (his French dad is a former journalist) sign papers saying he didn't need a chaperone in Canada to film "Interstellar," in which he plays Matthew McConaughey's son. "He makes his own decisions about what projects to pursue," she said, adding that she's more of a cheerleader than a "momager."
In fact, her kids rarely ask her for counsel on big life decisions. "He told me after the fact" that he had purchased what's reportedly an $11 million mansion in Beverly Hills, despite the fact that she's a real estate agent at the Corcoran Group in New York.
She also avoids offering dating advice. Her son has had a roster of celebrity girlfriends, starting with Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon in high school, the Mexican singer Eiza González, and Johnny Depp's daughter, Lily-Rose. He's now dating Kylie Jenner, a multimillionaire entrepreneur and part of the Kardashian clan.
Flender is often the last to know what's happening in her son's life. "Kylie was the one who told me that he would host 'Saturday Night Live' for the third time," she said.
Being his date for the SAG Awards was also a last-minute surprise. "I got a text on the Thursday before to ask if I'd be his date for that Saturday," she said.
She raided her closet for a slinky black gown and hopped on a plane. When she joined him for the Oscars, she borrowed a royal-blue number from a friend.
There are perks to being a star's mom during award season: She's had full-glam hair and makeup done and been outfitted by Louis Vuitton. Cartier jewelers once blinged her with priceless diamonds for the Golden Globes. "They knock on your hotel door at 9 o'clock the next morning, asking for them back," she noted.
Hollywood hasn't changed her son, she said. "Not at heart. He keeps himself grounded."
She remembers when she and Timothée could walk down the street unrecognized. Now, even a neighborhood stroll could end up as paparazzi fodder.
"They photographed us together in Soho and LA a year apart, and I was wearing the same vintage Fiorucci shirt," she said, laughing. "He bought it for me, so I wear it when we're together to show him I love it."
Despite her children's fame, Flender is very private. She'll occasionally post an Instagram photo of herself dolled up for an awards show, but she avoids reading social media mentions of either kid.
She's often surrounded by A-listers but says she's not starstruck. Yet, she does admit to dropping her son's name to get a photo with the basketball legend Charles Barkley at a bar recently. "I told him my son was a big basketball fan and he was happy to pose with 'Timothée's mom,'" she said.
Most of all, she's proud to have two kids who have surpassed anything she could've imagined. "All I want is for them to be happy," she said.
----------------------
Happy Mother's Day, Nicole!

WIBTA for subscribing to a city’s community radio station as a musician when I don’t live in the city?
I’m (31F) a musician who will be releasing my first single in about a month.
My special interest relates to a specific city’s music scene and its history. The city has a really cool independent community radio station that’s a huge part of that history.
One of the station’s main sources of income is subscriptions where people can make a yearly payment to support the station. You can subscribe as either a regular listener or as a musician. Musician subscribers are listed on the station’s website and also get a live read campaign on the radio. Since I’m going to be releasing music soon, I’d like to subscribe as a musician.
Here’s where I’m worried I may be TA:
-I’m not from the city where the station is based, nor have I ever been there. My main connection to the city and its music scene is my special interest. Since it’s a community radio station and I’m not part of that community, I’m worried I’d be inserting myself somewhere I don’t belong.
-In addition to the above, I’m from the US, while the radio station is based in another country. The radio station puts a lot of importance on promoting local artists and challenging the mainstream. If I subscribed as a musician and benefited from the live read campaign, the station wouldn’t be promoting a local artist, they’d be promoting some random USAmerican.
-Even though I’d be financially supporting the station by subscribing as a musician, I could support them just as well by subscribing as a regular listener.
-I want to subscribe to financially support the station, but part of my motivation is selfish. I’m really interested in this radio station and have spent a lot of time nerding out about its history, so I think it would be really cool to be listed on their website and mentioned on air. Also, I would imagine the station is more likely to play songs by subscriber artists, and it would be amazing to hear my song on the radio, especially on this station.
-I’m autistic (as you’ve all probably guessed from me having a special interest) and I sometimes have trouble determining whether or not my actions will be appropriate or well-received, so I don’t really trust my own judgment on this.
I thought about emailing the station to see whether it would be okay for me to subscribe as a musician (and I probably still will if the results aren’t a YTA sweep) but since I think so highly of the station, I’d hate for anyone working there to think I’m an asshole for asking.
WIBTA?
What are these acronyms?

My Hero Academia April 2025 Fic Recs
Fics I read this April and enjoyed immensely. Hope you find something you like!
Two for One Special by Lilly_Penwielder — Gen, Denki & Momo & Kyouka & Hitoshi, Denki focused, 1k words (on the dot!). A future fic where the four are together in an agency. They infiltrate a villain trio’s attempt at—what I assume to be—robbing a bank with hostages. Plenty of fun banter between the four, especially Denki, Kyouka, and Hitoshi. Unique utilization and expansion of Hitoshi’s quirk that I particularly liked.
i'm reaching out (and i just can't tell you why) by yxurstruly — F/F, Momo/Jirou, Background KamiJirou QPR, Kyouka focused, 1,264 words. Denki is out of town for the day, and Momo and Kyouka have the time to themselves. Kyouka ponders on her relationship with Denki, what it means, and what the kiss between her and Momo would mean. I loved the language used to describe Denki and Kyouka’s relationship, as well as the detail about Kyouka’s heart and quirk. The author also utilized details from the beginning of the story later in it, making it a very satisfactory short story!
i hope i get there (try with me) by carolinaa - Gen, Todoroki Siblings, Fuyumi focused, 3,480 words. Fuyumi moves into her very own apartment, finally freeing herself from Enji’s fire-hot grasp. I’ve actually read this one years ago, but just recently rediscovered it. Very emotional and fantastic.
Encouragement Stickers by SerenRaeOfSunshine — Unfinished yet still updating, Multi, Momo/Jirou(/Kaminari) central, Momo focused, 8 chapters as of now. Every time I see this fic in my email, I squeal in delight. It is SO. GOOD. It’s a post-war, class 2-A fic where Momo navigates her feelings for Jirou and Denki. It appears the relationship will end up being Kami>Jirou<Momo, but since the perspective is Momo, it’s largely MomoJirou focused. Plenty of equally funny and heart-wrenching moments, this fic is probably my favorite on this list. Where the Rainbow Reaches the Horizon, I’ll Bring You a Song by chalk - F/F and Multi, Kyouka/Ochako/Momo, Kyouka focused, 1,361 words. A mermaid AU where Ochako and Momo are mermaids and Kyouka is a musician who visits the seaside every morning to play her songs to the gods. One day, two mermaids approach her and she gains a faithful audience that day as well as a troubled heart.
an interrupted movie night by bluequeer0 - F/F, Nemuri/Emi, Emi focused, 391 words. A little ficlet of a movie night between JokeNight that gets unintentionally interrupted by Kyouka <3 A sweet & short read.
The Woman of the Snow (Archive Locked) by onierokinetic - F/F, Nemuri/Fuyumi, Youkai AU, 12,475 words. I've been really warming up to this rarepair recently, and this fic is AMAZING. Nemuri takes her students, the Class 1-A girls, on an expedition to do field research on youkai in the mountains. There, she meets a charming woman who isn't all what she seems...

Possible Hadestown stuff???
Hey everyone! I’m thrilled to announce that (as a first time director) I’m attempting to put on a production of Hadestown! Albeit not currently having access to the license, I am on the way to getting it. If you are willing to stick with me for this chaotic process, it will be an incredible opportunity to perform in one of the most stunning musicals out there. (more stuff below the break)
About the Show
The cast preferably would consist of performers aged 13-16 (the whole cast currently aka two people are both minors so-)
Auditions will be held soon. Both monologues and songs are needed. You can alternatively send in a video audition, or contact me to schedule a time to hold an audition over call.
Cast members must be in Texas or willing to travel there (will specify the area once I trust you sorry it's the internet guys) for rehearsals and performances
Disclaimer: This is not a school production. I am doing this on my own and with people who are willing to join/contribute to my effort.
Roles Available We are casting all major roles, including Eurydice, Hades, Persephone, Hermes, the Fates, and the Workers’ Chorus. The role of Orpheus is likely taken, but there are plenty of fantastic parts available! The list of roles is given at the end of the post. If you’re interested in auditioning or have any questions, reply to this post or reach out to me directly. PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH PEOPLE YOU KNOW THAT MIGHT BE INTERESTED BECAUSE I NEED A CAST! We are also accepting people for the crew as well! I am looking for an assistant director, tech (lights, sound), set builders/movers, costume crew, makeup, etc. Looking forward to (hopefully) seeing you in Hadestown!
Cast list Principal Roles
Orpheus – A passionate musician (likely already cast)
Eurydice – A young woman struggling to survive
Hades – The ruler of the underworld
Persephone – The queen of the underworld, torn between two worlds
Supporting Roles
The Fates (3 people) – A trio who narrate and influence the story
Hermes – The charismatic and wise narrator
Chorus/Ensemble Roles
Workers (Workers’ Chorus, minimum 5) – The souls in Hadestown
Dancer(s) – Optional, but can enhance the show
(this was originally formatted as an email so it might be kinda weird rn sorry)

SiTi Teater charity stream featuring Bojan and Štras - information & how to buy tickets!
Have you seen our posts about Bojan and Štras (frontman of MRFY)? Were you intrigued and would like to see more of them? Then this post is for you!
Tumblr media
SiTi Teater is a theatre in Ljubljana that’s celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. Part of the celebration will be an event involving several “one on one” duets between Slovenian musicians, as well as performances by Slovenian stand-up comedians and actors. It will be streamed on Thursday, October 5th 2023, at 20:00 (8 PM) Central European Time (you can use this website to convert that to your time zone if needed). You can see the full list of performers on their website. These three performances in particular might be of interest to Joker Out fandom:
Bojan Cvjetićanin & Gregor Strasbergar – Štras, of course. You can find their previous 1on1 performances, as well as some other fun Bojan/Štras content, in our Štras tag!
Tomi Meglič (frontman of Siddharta and one of Bojan’s role models) & Miha Guštin - Gušti (former Big Foot Mama guitarist and, of course, Kris's dad)
Lado Bizovičar, one of the biggest names in Slovenian stand-up comedy, whom you might remember from being on V petek zvečer with Bojan, and from that time he rubbed his friendship with Bojan in Käärijä’s face.
The concert will be streamed, and you can buy a ticket to get a link, as it will be a charity stream. At the beginning of August, Slovenia was hit with devastating floods that ravaged large parts of the country; you can find out more about it here (English article) and here (Slovenian article with a lot of photos and videos). Recovery will be long and expensive, as the most recent estimates are that the floods caused about 5 billion € of damage.
You can choose to pay 5€, 10€, or 15€ for the ticket. All proceeds from the ticket sales will go towards helping the people who suffered in the August floods.
So you can have a fun evening and help people out! We’ve asked SiTi Teater about it, and they said that the stream will be on YouTube and accessible worldwide. If they have a chat enabled, we’ll do our best to translate as much as we can during the event, or at least give some context!
Instructions for how to buy a ticket are under the cut! (And the website is in English!)
First, make an account (it's better to do that first so it doesn't interrupt your purchase process later). To do so, go to this link. (You can also log in with your Google or Facebook account or Apple ID.)
When you've done that, go to this link to buy the ticket for the charity event. The description is in Slovenian, but the ticket buying process is in English!
After you click on "Buy tickets", you have to decide how much you want to pay for your ticket: 5€, 10€, or 15€. There is no difference between the differently priced tickets - everyone will get the same link. It's just about how much you can afford to give. (Again - all the proceeds will go to flood victims.) Click the number 1 under the amount you wish to pay, and a ticket will be in your cart. Proceed with your purchase!
When you've completed your purchase, you will get an e-mail with a PDF ticket. Since this will be an online stream, that’s not an actual ticket, just a PDF with information. The text on it says:
You will receive a WEB LINK to watch our event on our YouTube channel to your registered e-mail address on 5.10.2023 at 19:00. The link will be active from 19:30 on, and the stream will start at 20:00. After the stream is finished, the link will not be active anymore. If you don’t receive the link to your email by 19:15 on 5.10.2023, please contact us at info[at]sititeater.si or call us at 070 940 940. Please check your junk mail folder and other folders in your e-mail as well. All proceeds from the ticket sale will go to the people affected by the floods through the humanitarian organisation Zavod Truhoma.
All times are in Central European Time, so if you live in a different time zone, check what that is for you! To sum up: you will get a link for the stream on the day of the event (October 5th 2023), one hour before it starts. The link will be active from half an hour before the event.
If you have any more questions, let us know and we’ll be happy to help!
