About Me

My name is Candelaria, I go by Kandi online, and I'm your average 21 year old goth bimbo... with a few tricks up her sleeves, Tarot being one of them.

I started this blog because my therapist said I needed a hobby that helped me connect with people, and so I decided to open a Tumblr account and start making tarot content, since it's been almost 5 years since I've been studying Tarot (which let me tell you, it's proven to be a never-ending process of learning, which I love).

At some point in 2021 I started reading for my friends and family, and to my surprise they paid me for it (sometimes lol). So when something similar started happening on here, I decided to give it a go and keep the side hustle alongside my sad attempt at not having a mental health crisis while majoring in psychology (ironic, i know).

I am a pagan myself, so when it comes to my approach to Tarots I do value the energetic and divinatory tool that they are, just as much as the (hopefully) future psychologist in me values the dynamics they offer when it comes to self development journeys.

Don't really know what else to say about myself so I'll leave it here and maybe add more later.

Listen. We all know that the Fukawa system has repressed loving girls up the wazoo. Shipping either of them with Polaris is just that story where two partners in a presumably cishet couple say they have something to tell each other and the first one goes “I think I’m gay” and the other goes “oh thank god. My thing was I’m trans”

AbsentInquiries Title Masterpost Part 3, Page 3: Light

WR: Since, for Classes, I’m still tidying up the small amount of chaos caused by the Sylph and Maid post, I’m electing to take it easy on myself for Aspects for now. Relatively speaking, of course, none of this is /totally/ easy. So, let’s get into Light, shall we?

WR: What do we know of Light? For one, it is somewhat (and i wanna quote this loosely) the equivalent of “fortune”(1), involving power over luck and fortuitous outcomes. But, I feel moreover the second proposed relation is the primary one: Knowledge.

WR: There is also the trait of radiance or affinity for light - Being potentially able to see through opaque objects, or being more easily noticed, and so on. This is another part of Light that I believe fits well, since the literal explanation is all too useful for study.

WR: The page(1) I’m working from also cites one other potential part of Light’s domain - fate. But, I personally don’t feel it fits, especially with the open contrast between Light and Void - Light is good fortune and available knowledge, while Void is dire straits, poor strokes, and the esoteric. Paralleling Light with Doom seems strikingly off, with that in mind.

WR: So, what sort of personality traits would I describe Light players with? Well, very knowledgeable, very confident, always willing to dispense advice. Good thinkers, usually soaking up new information in their off-time, but not quite as good in the intellect department as Mind. Still up there, though.

WR: Light players would also have a few social difficulties in their natural pride and knowledge. Oftentimes a Light player is both liked and disliked by other players, but they still maintain a positive draw - something like an air of radiance or comfort. This can usually offset most of the qualms people might have, but regardless, Light players have a balancing act to do.

WR: One of the last notable traits of Light players is, that, because of the mixture of their knowledge and confidence, they are talkers. They entertain themselves by talking to people, and in some cases long-winded, one-sided conversations can be pretty therapeutic for them. But, even with this in mind, I also have to say that I feel Light is an Aspect that leans slightly towards introversion, despite the balance they maintain.

WR: And lastly, onto powers, starting of course with the understanding of Light’s interpretations. For any who might be reading this and need context, look here.

WR: So, the Physical portion of Light would be - obviously, Light. The way things reflect it is a physical property, and the way Light illuminates things that exist goes further to show its physicality. The Metaphorical is Knowledge: We refer to smart people as “brilliant” or “bright”, and we often say that the explanation of something can be “illuminating” - tying Knowledge in well with the Aspect of Light.

WR: And, lastly, the Abstract interpretation of Light is fortune or luck. Personally, I can’t quite think of much in the way of good logic to support Luck as a part of Light besides that it obviously is. But, I suppose we can say that outcomes we expect to be positive we describe as part of a “bright future”, so that /could/ have something to do with it.

WR: So, what do we draw from it? From light, we see things - we can bend Light to increase visibility, showing more, showing through things, and even use it to create beacons, so to speak - or even /become/ beacons, from what we know. From knowledge, there comes many things - but few avenues of exploration. Knowledge is easy enough to work with, but does not itself have many extravagant potential uses.

WR: And luck and fortune are powerful forces, much like light. They can turn advantages around and result in a loss for the obvious winning side, or can make innumerate the capabilities of the benefactor. Every exploration is a chance - and having luck makes one much, much likelier to succeed without the need to try.

WR: I may have accidentally been a little vague here and there, but I feel like I worded things as best as I could. Hopefully this provides some good insight to...Well, probably one of the most insightful Aspects out there, ironically.
