He paused, watching Remus intensely and solemnly. “Do you have feelings for Sirius?”

The blush in Remus’ cheeks should’ve been answer enough, but he floundered. “What? I’m … I mean, he’s my coach, that’s … he’s not …” He stuttered through, unable to find the words to just lie.

“Remus,” James interrupted abruptly. “Just tell me the truth.” For long enough to have been answer on its own, Remus stared at James, opening and closing his mouth what felt like a dozen times.

“Okay, yes,” Remus finally blurted out, feeling oddly unburdened to have admitted it out loud to someone other than Pete (who had always known anyway). “Yeah. I do. Have for a long time.”

The smile on James’ face returned in full. “Great. Then I have something to show you.”
