The Light Pictures Anthology
The Dark Pictures Anthology but only good things happen for once
Man of Medan: 5 friends go out on a boating trip to as a bonding activity and an opportunity for proposal. They wind up making friends with a group of fisherman after their boats accidentally collide and they politely help pay for the damages. When they come across an old WW2 vessel they stay off it and instead follow Fliss's advice and inform the coast guard, going about their trip like normal and having a great time.
Little Hope: A heartfelt story about a group of college students and their professor going on a trip but when the bus breaks down they decide to take a walk around the spooky ghost town while they wait for a replacement bus. They have a good time and discover they actually have history in this town and that in past lives they were apart of big happily families together that live LONG and HAPPY lives. They eventually leave town and go back on their journey feeling a little closer then when they started.
House Of Ashes: IDK dude there is nothing fun or good about war... I guess they fall in to the vampires lair but it turns out they're actually pretty chill and just trying to live their lives. They return to the surface, leave the army and go home because the Iraq war was an unnecessary nightmare. The End!!
The Devil in Me: Lonnit entertainment are having troubles with their show so decide to go all out for an episode about Americas first serial killer H. H. Holmes. They get a call inviting them to a replica of the Worlds Fair Hotel and when they get there Hector Munday meets them. Hector is a little quiet and strange but he just an eccentric and friendly man with a special interest in history after retiring from the FBI after a long but successful career. The crew film an amazing episode and the show does amazing once more and they continue to have amazing careers!
D2080: Space is cool!
That is it, nothing bad happens, they're just happy and having good times... except HOA because ¯\_(:|)_/¯

soulmate!au where you feel your soulmate's pain
Du'Met holds the knife out to Charles's face and makes a sharp cut that simultaneously makes both Lonnit and himself twitch. Granthem realizes everything and is at a complete loss, probably for the first time in a very long time. He realizes that he can't let Charlie to burn in fire, as he had planned before, because he would feel the same torment. And he doesn't want that for sure. As he ponders this, he watches the crew through the cameras and habitually pushes the button to keep the group from reuniting. He stays in his thoughts, not really watching what's happening on the screen, until suddenly he feels a hellish pain in his arm. Looking up at the monitor, he sees that Charles has his arm crushed by the wall. He pushes the button twice so that Lonnit can get it out in time.
Now Du'Met has to take better care of Charles.

2023 completions
welcome to the 2023 edition of my ramblings about video games i completed this year!! including even more unwanted opinions and even less coherency
total games: 37
Tumblr media
09/01 - Sam & Max Save the World - 8/10
sam and max, freelance police, begin a long string of investigations involving hypnotised celebrities, sentient computers, and conspiracies that go all the way to the TOP, baby
startin the year off good game wise then!! tbh i started this one in 2022 but it didnt make that list cause i just.. wasnt in a game playin mood towards the end i guess fghj but anyway!! really liked this one, ive seen a few mutuals who like this series so i was excited to play it and it was a lot of fun :] defo an old school point and click game and i rly liked the main characters themselves and the supporting cast!! glad theres another remaster i can jump into right after this one
Tumblr media
11/01 - Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil In Me - 8/10
the crew of lonnit entertainment are invited to a recreation of the infamous murder house, the stomping grounds of americans first serial killer, h h holmes. they are hoping the location will help save their documentary, but will you be able to save... THEIR LIVES??
i feel like every dark pictures game becomes my fave dark pictures game as they come out, but this one really was Very Good. i can confidently say this is probably the most scared ive been while playing a supermassive game Ever. the characters, while dysfunctional, grew on me a lot over the course of the game which made keeping them alive even more nailbiting :’] speaking of, the deaths in this one were Particularly gruesome imo, just from a concept standpoint, so big kudos for that too!! my only gripe is that i think the new “features” such as puzzle solving and traversal mechanics just artificially prolonged the runtime without actually adding anything to the experience
Tumblr media
15/01 - Sam and Max Beyond Time and Space - 7/10
even more weird shit is afoot in the second sam and max game, this time our duo facing off against T-H-E-M, the bermuda triangle, and satan himself!! ... or was it santa??
2 sam and max games in one month, this may have detrimental effects on my brain :’] but really, i liked this one too!! not as much as the first, but i still liked the characters and overall story, i liked how it all connected to both the previous game and the events through this one. i found some of the puzzles a bit more difficult and obtuse, but they were still fun. another fun point and click game (tho somewhat dated in some cases fghjk)
Tumblr media
18/01 - Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments - 5/10
the game preceeding sherlock holmes: the devils daughter, which i completed last year, follows the titular character once more, solving 6 of his cases along with his partner dr john watson
eh, not much to say about this one. i certainly prefered the devils daughter, but that one was also kinda meh fghjk. with this one being an older game, the graphics and gameplay were a bit more janky, and i guess theyd changed voice actors for sherlock since this game cause i didnt like his voice in this one tbh. that being said, mystery wise id say its abt on par with the devils daughter. yeah, again, not much to say really :’]
Tumblr media
24/01 - Psychonauts 2 - 10/10
a mole in headquarters, an evil from the past is rising again, and even MORE figments hidden in really obscure places... another day at the psychonauts office :V raz once again must delve into various brains to figure out what the Fuck is goin on
okay this game was literally so fkn good in every aspect. visually stunning, amazing story, brilliant characters both new and returning... GOD!!! what the first game did well, this one blew it CLEAN out of the water, i loved it a lot!! like idk what else to even say, it was just such a solid game i cant think of much to critisise :’]
Tumblr media
04/02 - AI: The Somnium Files - 3/10
kaname date works for the police force for a department unknown to the general public, using groundbreaking technology, he delves into the minds of suspects and uncovers clues using their own memories. when a body shows up resembling a victim of a serial killer from a cold case, he begins his investigation
... man... spike chunsoft rly just know how to make characters that grate on me fghjk for starters ill praise the original concept and interesting story (when it finally got around to being revealed), but i disliked/was uninterested in most of the characters and thought the tropes they kept using were annoying and just plain weird. im not fully sure Why this game was a branching path type game since it never really plays into the plot and the main story could have easily been told with a single storyline. overall, didnt rly enjoy this one, but what can ya do they cant all be winners :’]
Tumblr media
13/02 - Sly Cooper and the Thievious Raccoonus - 5/10
sly cooper, youngest descendent of the illustrious cooper thief clan, had his familys secrets stolen when he was just a lad. now he sets out to retrive what was taken from him and beat up some bad guys as he does
i gotta commend this game for the humour and the creativity with it, and im defo lookin forward to playing the rest of these games based off this one, but i think this first entry suffers from a lot of Jank that made it quite frustrating to play :’] also, there wasnt any way to mute anything except the music or adjust the volume so it would routinely blow the FUCK out of my eardrums. that bein said tho, still fun, very quick game, but im keepin it a low rating cause im expecting to like the later ones better :’]
Tumblr media
26/02 - Hidden Agenda - 2/10
the infamous “trapper” killer makes a final confession while counting down the days on death row, claims he never killed anyone and he can help lead the police to exactly who did. detective becky marney must investige this case one more time and decide if hes lying, or if the killer is still afoot
im so so SO sorry to my friends who like this game but besties.... why fghj for starters i was locked out of playing it for almost 2 years when the app you are REQUIRED to use in order to play this thing just stopped working, and when i finally did start playing the jank didnt stop with just the app. the whole game seems to be a broken mess with textures flickering in and out, characters walking thru solid objects, its MADNESS. the story and characters are so.... not interesting :[ it takes only 2 hours to do a full runthru of the story so i never rly grew to care abt them and theyre so flat anyway that i didnt Want to. if it wasnt so clearly rushed i think itd be good, and some of the acting is actually rly stellar, but overall...... its a no from me
Tumblr media
04/03 - Minecraft - minecraft/10
its minecraft
technically i already got the plat ages ago but this year i finally got the coveted 100% so.... yeah ;w; i mean we all know what minecraft is so like...... idk what to say abt it guys, u already know how good it is (tho the console version is Vasty inferior to pc)
Tumblr media
05/03 - Death Stranding - 8/10
after a world ending catastrophe dubbed the death stranding wiped out modern life as we know it, humanity is scattered across america. its up to sam porter bridges, post apocalyptic delivery man, to travel across the country and unite those that remain
depsite how confusing this game was, and how slow it was paced, and how fkn damn weird it was half the time, i still had a lot of fun playing it :’] i enjoyed the characters, tho wish certain ones had more limelight, i enjoyed the actual gameplay, tho by the end game i was finding it a bit Too repetetive, and i found the story rly interesting, when i could understand what was going on fghj so basically for every good thing i liked, it was countered by something, tho they are fairly small things. also the ending cutscene is an hour n a half long and i was fkn 3 am when i was finally allowed to exit the damn game so, u know, beware of that
Tumblr media
10/03 - Ratchet & Clank - 7/10
young mechanic ratchet, with his new buddy clank, join the galactic rangers in stopping the blargs from destroying countless planets in order to build their own
another game thats been on my backlog for ages, im glad to have this one done and dusted :’] i certainly had fun playing it, but i feel like it was a bit Too kiddy in some places for my personal taste (dialogue and humour wise that is, but since this was also made by insomniac of spiderman fame, it makes sense) and after a certain point the game becomes piss easy with all the upgrades u get, but i still enjoyed it
Tumblr media
03/04 - Sly Cooper 2: Band of Thieves - 5/10
sly and his pals return to their thieving ways after learning that the infamous klaw gang have begun reassembling parts for slys arch nemesis; clockwork. they travel across the globe to stop them
man my descriptions are getting worse fghj but anyway, as with the first game, i rly enjoyed the characters!! and the music, and... thats pretty much it. i really dont know what it is about these sly games that i just cant seem to enjoy the gameplay but i Really Really dont have fun while playing them :[ which is a shame cause, like i say, great characters that id like to spend more time with. if this was supposed to be the best in the series, i think im gonna give the 3rd and 4th games a miss for now, but maybe ill come back to them in the future
Tumblr media
29/04 - Last Day of June - 7/10
a short game depicting a young couple named carl and june, and the tragedy surrounding their relationship
this game doesnt actually have a plat, which is something im trying not to be too picky about going forward in terms of playing games, but even tho this game was super short i really liked it!! the story is rly simple but incredibly sad, and even though theres a lack of “voice acting” in the traditional sense, there was still a lot of great emotive acting in this. that being said, the fact some of the voices sounded so odd detracted from the seriousness of the plot sometimes, and the actual gameplay was kinda boring, but still a solid short game :]
Tumblr media
29/04 - Predator Hunting Grounds - 1/10
DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME
OH THE AGONY OH THE PAIN OH THE HOURS OH THE WASTED YEARS THE WASTED YOUTH THE PRETTY LIES THE UGLY TRUTH
and i dont like it >:[
Tumblr media
03/05 - Linger in Shadows - 1/10
this... isnt even a game apparently
i had it on my list of things to check out while i had the ps plus premium thinking it Was a game, but its not. its a strange kind of “art” thing according to the guide i used. i didnt rly know what was going on fghj. certainly a unique experience i suppose but nothing id recommend u go out of ur way to do, even if it takes literally 10 minutes to get all the trophies (no plat either)
Tumblr media
08/05 - Kurushi - 2/10
ps1 puzzle game, another one from the ps plus catalogue
not much to say abt this one again fghj seems like these last few games have been kinda duds huh :’] ah well, theres certainly better games on the horizon i suppose. as said, this is just some puzzle game from the ps1, janky controls and all. the music is surprisingly good, sounds almost like disney instrumentals :’] not that fun without assisstance tbh
Tumblr media
09/05 - The Gardens Between - 6/10
a very short puzzle game following 2 friends exploring a strange series of islands that tell the story of their friendship
when i say short i Mean short. like even without a guide i got this completely done in 2 1/2 hours, and that included me leaving the game on while i went to get something to eat from the kitchen. that being said, its a very cute game!! i enjoyed the puzzles, the style is nice and Capital-I-Indie, the musics nice and relaxing. the story was also nice, if sad, (can i say nice a few more times??? nice nice nice nice) but i just think this game is Wayyyy too short dfghj i think a lot more could have been done with it :’] glad i didnt pay the full £15 for this as it would have been a bit of a rip off
Tumblr media
09/05 - Nelson Tethers: Puzzle Agent - 8/10
fbi agent tethers is sent out to the minnesotan town of scoggins to investigate the local eraser factory shutting down
damn we’re just flying thru em now huh! ive actually played and 100%’d this game before on steam, as well as its sequel so i suppose im a little biased :’] but i rly like this game!! another short one, and another puzzle one, but i rly love the art style and story, as well as the puzzles being fairly simple but still fun!! its a shame the second game never made it to ps or id complete that one too but yeah, fun and simple puzzle game, defo recommend :] like most games like this tho, i wish it were longer
Tumblr media
11/05 - ABZU - 6/10
you are a diver on a journey through the ocean, discovering the creatures that inhabit the waters
short n sweet indie game (anotha one) and this one was pleasant!! i rly liked the style and music, the story was simple but told fairly well, and just overall a nice game :] beyond that, not much to say tho fghj defo a very pretty game, and id recommend if you have an interest in marine life n such, but beyond that its pretty bog standard indie game
Tumblr media
11/05 - The Pedestrian - 5/10
a short puzzle game where you traverse various signs as the tiny person within them
pretty straight forward puzzle game with a Weird ending that i dont quite understand fghj but overall it was enjoyable :’] most of these quicker games ive been playing lately have been super quick puzzle games so i might be getting burnt out on them, but even then i can appreciate the creativity of this one. its also another game with no plat which, considering it came out not 3 years ago, is kind of annoying
Tumblr media
14/05 - Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons - 4/10
two brothers venture on a quest to find medicine for their sick father
another short puzzle game, with a pretty interesting feature!! you control each brother with an analogue stick each, which can make coordination in some parts quite tricky if ur me fghj overall a pretty decent game, the story was kinda meh for me but i thought the gameplay was interesting, not much else tho
Tumblr media
20/05 - Bloodborne - 6/10
the town of yharnam is crawling with beasts and hunters alike. fight through the corrupted streets and discover the fetid depths of this city and all the inhabitants trying super duper hard to kill you
im editing this from when i first wrote it after immediately finishing the game because i was cranky and frustrated because i cant in good faith give this game a score lower than 5 (mainly because i know the fromsoft fans would dox and kill me). this game is visually very nice, in the sense that it looks Horrible, which fits the vibe. the gothic style along with the monsters are really unique and detailed to the point where some of them are hard to look at. that being said, i personally didnt like this game. at all. i know on a “technical” level its very good, but i struggled for a Long Time to “git gud” as it were and surprisingly, dying a million times because you cant dodge within a 1/2 second window before being stun locked to death GREATLY decreased my enjoyment of this game. and thats all im gonna say about it :V
Tumblr media
21/05 - Black Mirror - 4/10
following the suicide of his father, david gordon returns to scotland from india to inherit his familys estate. however, there are strange mysteries surrounding this house and the family who occupy it
pretty short horror/puzzle game that was pretty light on both the horror and puzzles fghj tho this game had a surprising amount of animation that looks fairly good which was a nice surprise. the characters were fine, and the story started out quite interesting but just felt a bit... weird. especially the ending, the final climax is basically just a bunch of qtes that ends really abruptly with little push back from the villain :’] for a free game i guess i cant complain too much
Tumblr media
23/05 - Vampyr - 8/10
dr johnathan reid, recently turned vampire, has just returned home to london after serving as a field medic during the war. the streets are crawling with rogue vampires, and an epidemic is spreading quickly through the city, all while johnathan is searching for his maker
FINALLY A GAME I ENJOYED. GOD. okay so this was surprising because ive heard a lot of people call this game p mid, and maybe id think the same if it wasnt preceded by a whole bunch of Crap ive recently played, but here we are!! i really loved the chracters, i thought they were all fun and interesting, even the ones we dont meet for too long, and i also found the story super compelling!! the game Does have a bit of jank to it, with weirdly long loading times (even on the ps5) and the occassional graphical error, but otherwise i rly enjoyed this one :]
Tumblr media
31/05 - Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart - 9/10
seperated after dr nefarious begins ripping holes into other dimensions, ratchet and clank must team up with another lombax named rivet and stop the universes from collapsing altogether
man this game was so fun!! i got the whole thing done and dusted over the course of 2 days :’] the writing was still a bit cheesy for me, and as implied the play time is Outrageously low for the steep price (which i thankfully avoided cause ps plus), but the gameplay itselt was Incredibly fun and engaging!! defo a huge step up from the first game in this reboot series. i also rly loved rivet so that certainly helped :’]
Tumblr media
02/06 - Lake - 5/10
meredith weiss, a successful programmer, moves back to her childhood town of providence oaks to fill in her her dad at his post office job. deliver mail to the residents of this lakeside town and decide how meredith wants to end her 2 week stint
pretty cute indie game i got through ps plus, i kinda wish the whole thing Was just a post delivery simulator :’] the characters are okay, the storys okay if a little eh.... i wanna say Loose?? like the plot beats (if u can call them that) feel kinda boring n half arsed. theres also a random romance option in this which feels?? out of place and doesnt actully impact anything that much. overall its an okay game, like i say the thing i found the most fun was driving around delivering post but maybe thats just my autism showing :V
Tumblr media
13/06 - PowerWash Simulator - 10/10
i mean... kinda does what it says on the tin guys
is a 10 a bit generous?? maybe. do i particularly care?? absolutely not. this game is a 10 if ever there was one. i truly dont know how else to sell this if the idea of cleaning stuff with a powerwasher isnt immeditely appealing to you like, maybe You’re the problem :V this game also has a weird amount of lore?? which is also v fun fghj so do with that info what you will
Tumblr media
19/06 - LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean - 7/10
a lego retelling of all 4 pirate movies, with all the usual lego bells and whistles
pretty typical lego game, so the gameplay and stuff is p fun!! ive actually never seen these movies so i didnt rly know what was goin on half the time, especially because this is an Older lego game so theres zero voice acting in this. i also had quite a few crashes and bugs while playing where i had to restart either the level or the whole game, which got annoying during the cleanup grind. overall tho, cant go wrong with a lego game tbh
Tumblr media
17/08 - Chicory: A Colorful Tale - 9/10
after all the colour in the world disappears out of nowhere, you must go on a quest across the picnic province to restore it using a magic paintbrush
you may notice the significant time gap between the last game and this one and uhhhh ngl folks i was Not Gamin dfghj i was Tired n a lil Sad but eh what can ya do, but this was a great game to come back with!! absolutely loved this one, super adorable art style and gameplay that reminded me a LOT of toem, very similar vibes but this game is much longer imo. id give it a perfect 10 if the collectibles weren’t so horrid to find fghjk but other than that cant recommend this one enough!!
Tumblr media
29/08 - Observation - 7/10
dr emma fisher wakes up after the space station on which she resides undergos a catastrophic failure. take control ships ai, S.A.M., and attempt to reboot the systems and find the crew, who have all mysteriously disappeared...
rly quite liked this one!! the fact u control the ships ai is a pretty interesting feature and made the interface really cool and sci-fi lookin, defo alien inspired on that front. i liked the story, even if it Did get a bit confusing, and the voice acting was also pretty stellar!! gotta dock points for some classic indie game Jank, and the fact that there isnt a whole lot goin on gameplay wise (p much entirely minigames that arent that well explained to you that u only end up doing once) but the story and overall eerie atmosphere rly saved it for me
Tumblr media
31/08 - OMNO - 5/10
short indie game where u travel through a mystical world, solve puzzles, and meet extraordinary animals
theres indie games and then theres Indie Games, u know?? this is the latter. and thats not a bad thing!! it just means its kinda... predictable. usual fare of no voice acting, gorgeous music, simple but stylised graphics etc etc. it was pretty cute and the puzzles were fun, but some of the controls felt a bit clunky and like i say, a little boring story wise imo (but maybe ive just played too many of these types of games). perfectly middle of the road :’]
Tumblr media
03/09 - Tacoma - 7/10
you have been sent on a mission to retrieve the ai from a ship where all the crew have seemingly vanished (sounds a bit familiar huh?? all sci fi is the same (affectionately)). explore the ship and piece together what happened to everyone
anotha one, anotha sci fi indie game :’] rly liked the story of this one!! and it was an interesting mechanic to be able to view scenes of the crew via an AR system, and then also view their files and such. despite their limited appearances, all the crew members were interesting and unique, and no spoilers but it made the ending and its lead up a lot more exciting and intense. gotta dock points for how Glitchy this game was, it crashed at one point and started stuttering so bad i had to restart it manually, and also for how short it is. still, good story, good characters
Tumblr media
06/09 - Chicken Police: Paint it RED! - 8/10
a gritty noir point and click detective game where u play as the infamous sonny featherland, one half of the crime fighting duo, chicken police. after a nervous dame shows up on his doorstep about her mistress recieving vague threats, he realises hes gotta take just one last case
anthropamorphic detective chickens..... played TOTALLY straight, mind you. like i was actually totally blown away by this game fghjk its Completely voice acted for one, and its Pretty Fuckin Good voice acting too, the story and mystery is Really interesting, the world its set in is super gritty and deep despite how little its kinda touched on through the story, i was very surprised!! i think the ending and reveal were a bit uhh.... abelist, not to get too into spoilers, but for a noir story i guess its par for the course. still, enjoyed this one!!
Tumblr media
08/09 - The Testament of Sherlock Holmes - 5/10
a mutilated bishop, a deadly poison, and some other shady bullshit, its another sherlock holmes game
this is actually the oldest game in the series thats avilable on ps, ive kinda gone about playing these in the exact wrong order :’] that being said, i do think this is my Least favourite of the 3 ive played thus far. like crimes & punishment, this game also has plenty of jank, and the voice acting is a lil ehhh stiff for my taste. the puzzles were fine, the story was fine, overall just Fine. this game follows 1 case rather than multiple like its sequels do
Tumblr media
10/09 - Garfield Kart: Furious Racing - 4/10
basically a mario kart clone but with garfield :]
now i am not one who loves racing games. in fact i suck quite badly at them. so u may wonder why i have a racing game in this list and well?? im ngl i bought this game as a meme and it ended up being so hard i had to put it down for a while dfghj BUT i came back to it and after hours of sweatin and gamer rage i DID IT!!! but at what cost. the game is fun, it looks nice, tho the only real garfield references it Has are its racers, the courses are kinda bland and generic. also the trophies...... my GOD the trophies..... not even a plat btw hhhh anyway if u like racing games check it out but if u Dont then DONT
Tumblr media
17/09 - The Last of Us: Part 1 - 8/10
in the fungusy zombie apocalypse, smuggler joel is tasked with taking an immune girl, ellie, to a group of freedom fighters to create a cure. a remake of a remake :’]
obviously its good. i mean cmon. i remember watching a playthru of the OG og game wayyy back when so i kinda knew all the plot beats, but playing it myself in this beautiful 4k ps5 remake was Glorious (dont get me wrong, i think it was totally unnessesary to remake it AGAIN but it do look pretty). i can certaily see why this game has such a cult following and got the reception it did. maybe a Tad overhyped?? maybe a tad. but still good!! gameplay is solid, story is solid, characters are solid, whats not to like?? docking points for the frankly OBSCENE price point (luckily i got mine Mega cheap but go-LLY)
Tumblr media
03/10 - The Last of Us: Part 2 - 10/10
after a devastating loss, ellie begins a gruelling quest for revenge and runs the risk of not only losing the ones she loves, but herself as well
i mean. fuck me guys. fuck ME. if the first game is good then this one is straight up glorious. the story is Vastly improved, so much tension and grey morality and Bone Deep Agony, emotionally and physically. its just such a hugely better game, both story and gameplay wise with a Bunch of new features and they arent afraid to take you to Extremely dark places with characters we already love and brand new ones too. this games going to be sitting with me for a long time i feel
and thats it for 2023!!
kinda fell off the gaming wagon in the final few months of this year due to a variety of reasons, but lets hope i can keep gettin games off the ol’ backlog in the new year :]

The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me
CIGARETTES: Charlie Lonnit x fem!reader
Tumblr media
Summary: A short one shot, in which the reader helps Charlie find his cigarettes.
Note: English isn't my first language. I apologize for any mistake I made while I wrote this short story.
Warnings: swearing, talking about smoking and nicotine addiction
•••
"Oh, Erin I checked my blue bag. No cigarettes." she heard Charlie's voice as she carried her bags up the stairs, trying to find her room.
"That's where I put them!" Erin answered, probably getting frustrated on her very own, polite and kind way.
"Come and show me. Maybe one of us is color blind and doesn't know what a blue bag is."
She almost laughed as she just crossed the corner. That man always said the rudest yet funniest things when the nicotine-addiction made his mind blank. However she also felt a bit of anger when he hurt poor Erin because of his problems. Erin was always helpful and she never even heard her swear or raise her voice. So when she stepped a few steps closer to her talking crewmates, she felt pity for her.
"It's all right, Charlie. No need to stress over it. I'm sure your cigarettes are there somewhere, if Erin said she packed them."
"I swear I put them in the blue bag!" Erin said again, trying to prove that she's telling the truth.
"Then come and show me. Because right now I have to think that they turned invisible."
"That's enough!" she shouted, having enough of their bickering. "I'll help you find them, so you can leave Erin and Jamie alone. Let them rest a bit before dinner. They just crossed the whole fucking island."
"You don't have to do that. I know where I put them, I'm sure-"
"It's okay, Erin. I have to find my room either way. And judging by the number I'm right next to Charlie." she said with a small smile, then she put one of her bags on her shoulder, because it was starting to get too heavy to hold it in her hand. "Have fun girls!" she smirked. " Come on, Charlie, I think our rooms are this way!"
The man obeyed and followed her without another word - which was new to the two girls who were left in Jamie's room. Charlie always had to have the last word. Yet when she was there he was more than pleased to let her talk and get away with everything.
Ever since Topeka the pair seemed to grow closer than ever. He threw a big fuss about the investigation going wrong, yet she maneged to calm him down with only a look. That's when the crew noticed - including Jamie - that despite Charlie made the be professional - rule, he wasn't able to live up to it.
"You know, you can be quite the asshole when you don't have your cigarettes." she stated as they walked down the hallway. She was sure he was about to say something, but she quickly continued. "But watching you like this can also be a comedy show."
"At least someone enjoys it."
"Oh, I can enjoy everything you do if I want to be honest." she said with a shy smile. "Especially when you and Kate are bickering. Now that is comedy gold." she teased.
"Oh, please!"
"All right, all right! Let's just go and find your cigarettes, old man!"
They reached the end of the hallway. The last room on the left was opened so she could see all the suitcases and bags Charlie decided to bring. And there was the mentioned blue bag, Charlie was obviously looking through it because it became quiet the mess.
"It seems I'm right beside you. So you can come and get me anytime you are looking for something." she put her stuff down in front of the door as she crossed Charlie's room and sat down next to the blue bag - what, judging by Erin's words, hid the cigarettes Charlie oh so desperately needed.
"Well?" the man asked after he watched her look through the bag.
"I'm looking Charlie, give me a break!" she answered as she made the bag completely empty. "Oh, by the way..." she started as she noticed a book at the bottom. "Kate wanted you to have this."
She smiled up at him as she gave him the book and to her surprise he smiled back. But Charlie's smile completely disappeared when he read the title of the book out loud.
"Breaking Down Walls: Navigating the Maze of Anxiety. Are you fucking kidding me?"
"I think she thought it might help you with your stress and-"
"Absolutely not." he didn't let her finish her sentence. He walked out of the room only to throw the book to the other end of the hallway. "I'm not stressed. Okay? Do I look fucking stressed?" he asked as he came back.
"Well..." she looked at him with an expression what hid the do you want me to be honest question.
"That was rhetorical."
"Well your cards came out nice enough." she tried to get his attention away from the book and his newly found anger.
"Oh yeah. Embossing. Makes a huge difference." he reached for the card. "But I also put it on heavy stock and did the logo in foil."
"I will never understand this big fuss over business cards. I mean come on, let's not play American Psycho."
"Damn, I should've had one ready for Mr. Du'Met." he continued, ignoring what she said.
"It's okay, I'm sure you'll have a chance to do that."
"Did you find them?" Charlie asked getting back to the main reason they were there as he squatted down next to her.
"No, but Erin said she put them in here. I don't understand. She wouldn't mess this up."
"Jesus." he stood up again, but this time she could feel his frustration. "Well stop tearing around in there like a maniac and check the other bag!"
"Or be fucking methodical. Where did she say she put it? Which pocket?"
"Blue bag, front pocket."
She checked that pocket again, but there was no luck. The pocket was empty. At this point it was starting to get annoying.
"They are gone Charlie. I'm sorry."
"Gone? Just like that? Are you saying somebody took them?"
"That must be the case. I'm sure Erin was saying the truth."
"Actually, I can see Kate doing that." he started to think about that as he sat down on the bed. She sat down next to him. "Or Jamie."
"Look, I'm sorry."
"It's fine, let's just get on with things."
She let out a long breath. He will finally let the stupid cigarettes go. Another word about them and she will jump out of the window or hit him just to shut him up.
It was one of those times when he was throwing a big tantrum about small things. And when he was doing that there was no way you can do anything to get his mind off of the matter.
"This place is massive, surely there is a pack of cigarettes in here somewhere. Even if they are ancient."
She burried her face in her palms. Here it is... The addiction is talking again.
"There was a bar off the lobby. There must be cigarettes in the bar. Right?" he suddenly stood up. "Come on. We should check it. Or maybe we should go and ask Mr. Du'Met. He might be a smoker too or..."
That was her breaking point. She stood up so suddenly she actually starteled him for a second, but he quickly found his voice and she was sure he was about to start talking again - but this time she won't let that happen. She grabbed Charlie's tie - and because of the height difference pulled him down - and kissed him roughly.
This seemed to surprise him even more, because he froze for a second or two unable to process what just happened. But in the next moment he was kissing back. He held her hand, trying to get it away from his tie.
The kiss just dragged on and on - it was like they just found something they didn't know they wanted, yet they really liked.
"Hey, Charlie, did you find your cigare- what the-"
Erin completely froze when she saw them and it seemed like she lost her voice as well.
The pair quickly pulled away. The woman's face was red, but she wasn't the only one. Everyone was red as a tomato and she was sure if she wouldn't be part of the main attraction, she would laugh. This was truly a comedy gold moment. Fucking picture worthy.
"Yes, well- No luck with the bag. But we will go and check the bar, won't we, Charlie?"
"Yes- yes, of course."
And just like that the pair was gone, leaving Erin alone with a story what was the main topic during dinner.
Until the crew decided to start shooting - and with that the night took another turn...

Low-key obsessed with the literal kill counter Du’Met keeps in the lobby of his murder castle
Like when the gang first arrive, the number is at 178.
Tumblr media
Then sometime after we see Morello and Bethany running onto the ferry to get away, we get the option to look at it properly and the number has gone up to 180. We know from the “bad” ending if Mark agrees to help Du’Met that he leaves two survivors - a “ferryman” and then another person from their group who they care about and is used as leverage to make them go through with it. So in Morello’s case, it’s obviously his daughter. We also know from that bad ending that Du’Met lets the two survivors go to the ferry and start to leave only to pull them back in and snipe them. And we know they were killed anyway because their bodies can be found near the very end of the game.
Obviously, between Jamie seeing Morello and Bethany leaving and then this counter going up, Du’Met sniped Morello/Bethany.
Tumblr media
Also, in the meat freezer area, you can find a dead body hanging up there with the label “176. Natalie Morello”; Natalie is Morello’s other daughter.
Tumblr media
The fact that the Morellos were the most recent party to check in, right before the Lonnit crew, Natalie being “176” and the counter going up after Joseph and Bethany “leave”… Du’Met literally keeps his kill counter in plain sight, that fucker is proud of it.

Stick Figure
Hope-tober day 6
Mark nudged Kate and raised his eyebrows at her. She answered with a shrug indicating she knew as much as he did concerning this meeting. Jamie and Erin soon entered the room and took their seats looking equally confused. So this was a case of Charlie calling a meeting but explaining to none of them what it was about. Mark did not like where this was going.
“All right, everyone,” Charlie began, “unfortunately the location for our next shoot won't be available until this weekend.”
“Are you kidding me?” Jamie burst out.
“Charlie, I thought you said you had it all arranged,” Kate added with a tired sigh.
“It is arranged,” Charlie insisted. “The time-table's just been shifted a bit. I thought in the meantime we could work through the shots we want.”
“And how exactly are we going to do that?” Mark wondered. Charlie flashed a smile and brought out a piece of paper. It looked like amateur blueprints; a closer look showed that it was to their location. Before Mark could ask any more questions, Charlie also brought out some paper cut-outs glued to Popsicle sticks.
“Uhh.” Erin stared at them, her eyes darting to the other crew-members. Clearly hoping someone else would ask. Kate was bound to, but Mark decided to speak first and save some arguments.
“What's with the stick figures?”
“This is Kate,” Charlie explained, waving one of the figures back and forth.
“I have no idea how to take that, Charles,” Kate said dryly. Charlie ignored the use of his proper name, as he often did whenever Kate spoke it, but his lips did press together a bit tighter.
“As I was saying, this is Kate,” he resumed. “We'll want a shot of her entering the building.” He walked the stick figure forward. Mark glanced over and saw that Jamie was fighting hard not to laugh. He made the mistake of catching her eye and had to bite back his own laugh. “I was thinking Mark could be here to get a good angle.” Charlie used another stick figure to indicate Mark's position.
“Why is my stick figure smaller than Kate's?”
“Obviously because Charlie had to accommodate for Kate's big head,” Jamie answered.
“Could we focus, please?” Charlie scolded. “The more we have this planned out ahead of time, the quicker we can get all of our shots in when we arrive.”
“Sorry, Charlie.” Jamie gave him an innocent smile. “It's just hard to take this seriously when it feels like we're watching a puppet show for grade schoolers.”
“I think it's kind of cute,” Erin piped in. She shot a nervous glance to Charlie. “Well, I mean, not cute exactly,” she quickly corrected. “I mean more like, it's a fun idea. I don't know a lot of directors who block this way.”
“Thank you.” Charlie pointed one of the stick figures at her. “That's the sort of attitude I love to hear. Shall we continue on, then?”
He walked them through all the shots he wanted. They paid attention for the most part, but it was still hard not to look at each other and keep from laughing at how silly it was. Never a dull moment at Lonnit Entertainment.

What if Hector, after he had exceeded 300 kills, just wanted to live like an ordinary person?
He invites different film crews to shoot some materials for films here and one day stumbles upon Lonnit Entertainment.
Out of old habit, he decides to sort out the ins and outs of these people. Their director is a narcissist, but tries not to show that the company is collapsing. Mark, who hesitates to leave the company. Quiet new girl Erin. Cheeky Jamie. Kate, who knows her own worth.
Interesting guys, as soon as they all got together?
He invites them. They all sit down for dinner at 20:00. Filming was supposed to start closer to midnight to take a couple of shots in the light of the moon. At dinner, they get to know each other, talking a little about themselves. Hector didn't interrupt them-he just listened and enjoyed the company.Charlie was the most talkative at the table. When he first started talking, everyone immediately paid attention to him, including Grantham. When someone else was talking, he was either looking at the liquid in the glass or idly picking at his food with a fork.
Charlie, happy to be the center of attention, communicated openly, hiding nothing and always smiling. Du'met listened with interest to the man's stories, although his face remained as calm as the surface of the water.
- I think I'll go out for a smoke, - Charlie got up from his chair and headed for the door. When he got out, he hesitated a little, because he didn't quite remember the way to the main entrance. The corridors were so identical…
- Perfect for building such a place for killing people, - Charlie himself grinned at his terrible joke and went on.
He just headed straight, hoping to see a way out. Five minutes later, he had not found a way out of these walls.
- My God! What's wrong with this place!? - Charlie slammed his fist against the wall and groaned from the pain in his arm.
- Is there anything I can do for you, Mr. Lonnit? - Charlie squeaked a little in fear. But it was so quiet that he hoped he hadn't embarrassed himself in front of an older man. How long has Du'met been following him? Or maybe it was Charlie who returned to the place where he left?
Charlie turned at the voice and saw the owner. For some reason, without even thinking about why Du'Met was standing in front of him now, although he should be in the hall with everyone, he was overjoyed just like a child who got lost in a store and saw his mother.
- Mr. Du'met! I wanted to find a way out of here, but apparently I got caught in your nets. The further I go, the stronger I feel that I will never get out of here… Could you help me get outside? - Du'Met nodded and silently led Charlie through these corridors with strange paintings…
Charlie definitely wasn't walking here… "Is he even leading me right?" Charlie looked at Du'met's back, suddenly wondering why this man lived here alone. But he found it incorrect to ask such personal questions. His back stiffened a little as they passed through the boarded-up doors.
When Du'met led them outside, Charlie happily inhaled the cool night air:
- Yea… The weather is a little chilly here… The lake, after all… - Charlie rubbed his shoulders, in an attempt to warm up and jumped on his feet.
Du'Met looked with interest at this seemingly adult man, but with the heart of a child. Such Du'Met has not yet met. There have always been petty and calculating people in his life. He killed a lot of people, but they were all rotten inside.
So what if Charlie loved being the center of attention and his narcissistic nature was manifested in this? It wasn't vicious at all for Du'Met. How many times has he already seen how native people exchanged their lives for the life of their loved one… That was what really disgusted Du'Met.
Betrayal. But it was so nice to look at the faces of those people who realized how little their lives meant to someone else…
But that's not the point now. He was living a normal life now, or at least he was trying. He kept a couple of animatronics for himself, so that sometimes he could take out on them a sudden thirst for murder. That was enough for now.
Hector took off his jacket in one motion and draped it over Charlie's shoulders. The huge size of the thing retained the warmth of its owner, and Charlie wrapped himself more tightly in his jacket. Gratefully looking with my own eyes at the man in the shirt.
- Thank you very much, Mr. Du'met, you shouldn't have, you'll freeze! - Charlie was about to take off his outer clothes, warm as a blanket after a nap, but Du'Met interrupted him with a wave of his hand. Charlie once again smiled gratefully in Du'Met's face and nodded slightly in gratitude.
It was unusual for Hector to see good emotions directed at himself. So open, such as they have always existed…
But they were inaccessible to him for so long…
He was sorry. I regretted a lot. He definitely wasn't born like this. The people who surrounded him made him a murderer. Hector took something out of his pocket. It turned out to be a red box of cigarettes.
- Oh, so you smoke too! Wait, let me light them up. - Hector held a cigarette between his lips and leaned over to Charlie, looking straight into his eyes and waiting. Perhaps because it was so embarrassing, Charlie couldn't stand the long eye contact and concentrated to light a cigarette. The wind prevented him from doing this and he covered the fire with one hand.
- Here, it's done. Thanks for the cigarette… and a jacket. - Charlie took a step back from Du'Met, interrupting their intimacy. The older man just nodded in response and straightened his back.
"I have to admit, this tie and shirt suit him…" - Charlie really liked this combination. He finally lit his cigarette and took a drag.
- Well… the moon is unusually bright today, the shots will be great, - Charlie raised his head to him and just looked at the moon.
At that moment, the man standing next to him realized why he had started living an ordinary life - to find someone who would shine brighter than the moon on such a dark night.
While Charlie was looking at the moon, Hector was looking at Charlie a little behind, thinking that now he would do anything to stay with this man for the rest of his days.

well, i just can’t leave the new ‘shiny’ alone for now. so this happened. this lil monster right here. *heavy sigh*
not fully sure how to describe this one. like, this is 110% unapologetic du’lie fic. therefore, i won’t even pretend like the ‘plot’ won’t be literally tied up to their relationships on main lol. but it’s written from du’met’s pov, so it can be…well. smth. prob will have a different tone to it vs 2 other fics. might also have a bit different take on some canon events & such. so yup. time for me to stare into the abyss.
now, an actual summary of the first chapter : what is the ‘final battle’ with du’met happened inside the lighthouse? aka a version of events, where the lonnit entertainment crew (what left of it) is actually attempting to take on du’met.
spoiler alert, it doesn’t go too well for them.

Tdim Werewolf/Vampire ideas
With the influx of vampire and werewolf stuff in the tdim fandom I'll get into an idea I've been thinking about a little, also relating to that vampire Bradshaw I recently did
First things first who's what, Du'met is a vampire and the Lonnit crew is a pack of werewolves(with the exception of Erin because she's still new and hasn't been turned yet) But where does Bradshaw come into things?
So basically Du'met would have already been a vampire for who knows how long, long enough that he was drawn to the world's fair due to the height density of humans and there he discovers something that amazes him, he doesn't necessarily interact with HHH since he's just another human(also I don't want him to) but he sees the castle either when it was operational or after Holmes's arrest(before it got burned down) and he plans on how he can build such a place for himself and after decades of meticulous planing he meets Agnes who wants immortality and to be young and beautiful forever and they come to the agreement that she will fund his project and he will grant her most deeply held desire(the specific decade is still up in the air)
On to the wolves, Charlie would have inherited lycanthopy from his mother who was bitten by a werewolf while vacationing in America(likely charlie's own father), he grew up this way and is very well adjusted as a wolf and considers the turning of his crew as the same as building a family but of course there's a lot of the same friction there
I haven't fully fleshed out how much Erin knows as the only human but I'm thinking it was the intention to have her officially join the pack after filming for the episode, it's unclear if Du'met simply wants her as prey or to turn her so that the wolves can't have her, Idk but I feel like however it goes she'll be the most vulnerable person in the castle until she isn't
Also not sure about the Hector/Du'met thing and how that'd work as this is a very early concept and not one I'm entirely sure I'll go all in on but I wanted to throw it out there

complicit/a charlie lonnit x reader fanfic
Tumblr media
FANDOM: The Devil In Me/The Dark Pictures Anthology
GENRE: A one-shot edited fanfic and unrequested, simply me indulging!
SYNOPSIS: ( SPOILERS AHEAD ) Charlie has been accused of being complicit after a clue is found to lead his friends to believe he might not be who they think he is, though the one he loves is quick to step in. This would be my loose take on the guilty complicit ending for Charlie if he survived it.
TRIGGER WARNINGS: Spoilers for the game, swearing, implied then blatant crush, and angst!
As always, Charles Lonnit had become the villain of the story, if that was the right term to describe his predicament. There was nothing he could have done to quash the accusations. Stop the theories flying out from the mouths of people he had trusted. What had been on that tape incriminated him for an evil he hadn’t committed in the first place. Any fragments of trust left in him had shattered before his very eyes. Suddenly he was the guilty one. The role of the co-conspirator who wallowed in unspeakable sin had been ascribed to him. A wolf in sheep’s clothing crawling amongst them. Would his crew ever believe that he was their friend again? Whatever the case, he knew in the immediate moment that grave danger lurked around every corner; and that it was likely he would fall into its clutches if he could not convince his friends of his innocence.
Complicit. What a foul word to speak. A stinging bullet fired from a merciless shotgun. He wouldn’t have dared to call himself a saint, but to say he was a sinner beyond redemption cut deep.
Complicit. If they truly believed that, why not be done with him? Carve it into his chest and throw his body to the birds. Have him face the heavens for an omniscient, mysterious god to recognize him for the traitor he was and cast him into the blackest hellfire.
Complicit. Nine letters, nine evils manifested. He was none of those.
“ I’m not buying it. ” a voice soft in caution interrupted in the darkness. Mark and Erin turned towards the direction where Y/N stood, their fists clenched to their side. Surprise replaced the defensive expression on his face, his brows arching upwards over the frame of his glasses. His heart did a leap inside his chest, hope lightening the burden he carried on his shoulders. The metallic taste of fear on his tongue subdued. A breath he didn’t know he was holding pierced the silence. What were they playing at? Did Y/N have doubts that he was involved? Or was he hearing what he wanted?
“ What do you mean? It’s all right there, Y/N! Do you want me to rewind the tape? ” Erin cried, seizing the cassette player from its spot on the table.
“ If Du’Met is capable of building this fucked up murder castle, I imagine it’s not a stretch to assume he could edit this to fit whatever purpose he had. Think about it, Erin. You’re a sound engineer, do you really believe that Charlie was complicit in this whole thing? ”
Complicit. There was that word again.
“ Look at the other one, then! Use your fucking head, I’m no traitor! ” Charlie butted in, his indignant rage getting the better of him in the moment. Mark was noticeably quiet, trying to gage who to trust from the sidelines.
“ Shut up, you don’t get a say in this matter!” Erin fired back, doing as Y/N had instructed her. She clicked on the other tape recorder, ear perked to listen for any evidence that would convict him. Fizzles of worry sparked in Charlie’s stomach, for a reason he could not explain. Why he was so nervous despite not having any malicious intent to begin with was past him. The second he heard his real voice fill the room speaking nothing but the truth, that anxiety died. A sob caught in Erin’s throat, her eyes dark in a mixture of shame, fear, and anger Inside of him, his mean streak revelled in her guilt. Seeing her wrong gave fuel to that inferno of bitter pleasure next to his white hot fury at the entire situation. Yet, there came a tiny pleading voice in the back of his mind that reprimanded him. Was he really going to hold a girl responsible for her completely sensible terror? Nonetheless a sweetheart like Erin Keegan who did not possess an evil bone in her body. No, he wouldn’t stoop to that level.
“ See what I mean? Du’Met is trying to divide us so we’ll turn on each other. It’s another one of his sick psychopathic turn-ons.” Y/N whispered, keeping their tone neutral as was possible.
“ I agree with Y/N. It makes us easier to pick off one by one. If Charlie really was the bad guy, wouldn’t he have tried to lead us off into more danger? I haven’t seen anything like that.” Mark replied, casting a calm look towards his boss.
“ I’m so sorry, Charlie...” came Erin’s quavering reply, to which he gave a stern but forgiving glance at.
Gratitude blossomed up in Charlie’s chest, the most towards Y/N, who was talking to Erin. A flower of love sprouted for the screenplay writer across the room. Whether he wanted to get down on his knees and thank them or kiss them, he could feel himself falling harder for them. No longer was he the guilty one. If he could only get off this accursed island, he would make them see he was more than innocent.
‘ If I get out of this circle of Hell, I swear to give up smoking and make them mine. The only crime I’m complicit for is for falling head over heels for you, Y/N.’ he thought, a small assuring smile playing on his thin lips for the first time in the previous few hours.
Complicit. Maybe it wasn’t so bad to be complicit if it meant his dreams were fulfilled.
A/N: God this was total shit, but I wanted to write something for my sweet British baby boy Charlie even if it wasn’t up to par with my normal standards. I fucking love the Dark Pictures games and Charlie Lonnit most of all, and wanted to express it as best as I could! This anthology has become my entire life the past month, the amazing people on this platform in the fandom helping to find another passion of mine which I thank them for!
I’m going to tag the coolest person I know @itscrimsonsixx for this fanfic, I’d love to hear your opinion on my writing here if that’s cool with you, bestie! Everybody please have a fantastic New Year and enjoyable rest of your Holidays! Thank you so much for reading!

I would have loved to see a little spin off or some shit about Du'met settling in to his second manor house after the first one goes tits up from the Lonnit crew. Just him quietly having to restart and get everything prepared in a new space after having to leave behind so much shit from the Murder Castle.
Add to that the fact he got cheese grated when he was pulled off the boat by a fucking anchor lodged in his shoulder I would loved to see a more dishevelled and torn up Du'met that's had to patch himself up and keep moving on to... you know... murder...
Like that man leaves behind authentic H.H. Holmes memorabilia, Manny Sherman's corpse, all his old shit from being Hector Munday, his fucking dead mother and he's still going! I want to know what that man has stored in this second place I want to know what its like moving in to there after losing years worth of absolutely everything.
I want to see what he does to prevent a Lonnit Crew situation from ever happening AGAIN!! What traps does he have now? What precautions does he take now that the media are keen on him? What will he do about his lost kill streak? Would he start counting again or would he continue from the number he left off at?
I'm aware that he returns in Switchback but until I play that game for myself my answer to anything he does in that game is NUH UH!!!

a little bonus (coffee shop!au)
Granthem had the day off today. Charles, in turn, seemed to have never heard of such a concept at all, so he, as usual, ran off to work early in the morning. He was supposed to shoot a segment with his crew for an upcoming episode of the show, and afterward he planned to sit in on the script and editing. In short, he was, as usual, overwhelmed with work and wouldn't allow anyone to pull him out from it.
Du'Met, after making him breakfast, did some cleaning first, then read a book for a while, made dinner ahead of time. And pretty soon he got bored. In the past he had always found something to do on his days off, but now it was as if nothing really interested him anymore. It's like there's always something distracting him.
In the end, at three o'clock in the afternoon, he could not stand it any longer. He got dressed and left the house. On his way to the studio the man went into a coffee shop and took a cup of americano for Charles, and then walked at a leisurely pace to the right address.
He had already been there once - not inside, but waiting on the doorstep. It made it easier to give the man a little surprise without having to ask him for an address beforehand.
Granthem quietly knocks on the right door and stops to wait. It opens rather quickly; Du'Met sees a tall young man in front of him. "Hello?" the man says uncertainly, clearly not understanding why anyone would knock on their office.
"Is Charlie here?" asks Dumet quietly.
"Um… here, but who are you?" asks Mark, it seems - Granthem has heard such a name from Charles recently.
"Barista" he replies casually, and demonstrates the cup of coffee in his hands before walking straight into the room, ignoring the bewildered Mark.
Lonnit was sitting at a cluttered desk in the corner of the room. He was slightly hunched over and rubbing his temple with fingers, clearly already tired from the nervous strain.
Two girls were sitting by the window: one was looking at him a little bewildered and worried, while the other was slightly frowning, looking at the stranger interestedly from head to toe. Another girl was sitting on a chair, wrapped in plaid, and napping.
Granthem ignored the silent questions addressed to him and calmly walked over to the Charles table. The man was still unaware of his presence. Du'Met calmly and silently places a cup of coffee on his desk, and only then he flinches and looks up at him in confusion. "Granthem!" he says in surprise, immediately straightening up in his chair and looking up at the barista. "I didn't even expect you could come," he smiles a little. The man continues to stare at him in silence, then points a finger at the coffee. "Oh, thank you… Really, I'm insanely grateful. Cause I've been working so hard here I've completely forgotten about everything. And there's still so much to do…" he looks away from Du'Met and suddenly notices several confused looks behind him. "Oh, you're still here?"
"We didn't go anywhere. We're going to shoot again in an hour anyway," Nestor answers him.
"О… yeah, right… um…" he somewhat awkwardly licks his parched lips, shifting his gaze from the crew to the barista. "That's… um... Granthem, he's my, um…" Lonnit falters a bit; it looks like he clearly wasn't ready for this kind of conversation yet and was kind of unsure of how to label their relationship. This is charming. Du'Met even smiles a little under his mask, keeping a warm glance on the director's face.
"Barista?" prompts Erin somewhat uncertainly, and Jamie beside her smiles.
"Yes." director says quietly.
"Your barista?" Jamie smiles even wider. "Is that some sort of a pet name? What does he call you then? Visitor?"
"Jamie!" in a loud whisper, Erin tries to calm her down by nudging the girl in the side with an elbow.
Charles sighs heavily, rubbing the bridge of his nose before looking at Granthem again. He clearly reads the silent "see who I have to work with?" in the director's eyes, and he can't help but smile.
Not wanting to embarrass him even more in front of the others (or maybe, on the contrary, wanting to embarrass him just a little more), he leans toward him. "Don't overwork. I'm expecting you for dinner," he says quietly, so that only Charlie can hear him, and then straightens up. After glancing around at the rest of the crew, he calmly heads for the exit and walks away, leaving Charles with a slight blush on his cheeks.

Du’Met vs Lonnit Entertainment
Okay so I wrote out my theories on Du’Met’s plans concerning the Lonnit Entertainment crew. This is only based on my own observations of the story and characters, and is pure opinion. Please keep that in mind and be respectful.
Cut for length and for spoilers!
Erin: I think Du'Met sees himself in Erin. Later in the game she brings up something she sees they have in common: they're both selectively mute. I don't know whether she's right in her analysis, but the fact remains she sees a connection between the two of them. Du'Met sees it in her asthma. We learn that as a child, Munday had acute bronchitis. I had bronchitis once and had to use an inhaler for a while. It's likely Munday needed one as well, or just struggled to breathe in general because of his mother's smoking. So when he heard Erin’s discussion with Jamie about not wanting to depend on her inhaler, he identified with that and wanted to test her.
That's why her first trial is if she'll reach for her inhaler. If the player chooses the inhaler, Du'Met cuts off a strand of Erin's hair as a souvenir of the encounter. This suggests he was impressed with her and wanted to remember the moment. From here on, the player has the option to use the inhaler for certain situations. I never did and it didn't have any negative effect on Erin; I've also seen other players use it, also with no negative effects. I theorize that maybe the devs meant for something to come of whether or not you use the inhaler but ran out of time to implement it. If we continue with Du'Met testing Erin's resolve to not depend on the inhaler, maybe the idea was that the more you use it, the more likely Erin will die. But like I said, nothing ever comes of using it versus not.
Charlie: Players have observed how Du'Met seems to have a particular vendetta against Charlie. Du'Met plants that edited recording of Charlie early on to sew discord among the crew. Out of all the crew, Charlie's deaths are the ones that are the most brutal and he can die in so many different ways. I think this mostly revolves around Charlie being a smoker. We learn that Munday's mother was a smoker and she physically and verbally abused him. It was partly because of her smoking that Munday had poor health as a child. I think that left a mark on Munday where he was resentful or even hated smokers from then on. This also could have fueled his complicated relationship with Manny Sherman. This is why Charlie's trap has him being killed by his own lighter. Charlie doesn't have any tests to overcome-- Du'Met just goes straight for the kill.
Of course if the player does everything right, Charlie survives. Du'Met can go from that moment at the furnace to the end of the game without realizing that Charlie survived. I think that's why every death afterward (being ground up in the compactor, impaled by the meat-hook and hung, pushed off the ledge with “complicit” carved on his chest) are even more brutal. Du'Met is pissed that Charlie survived and messed up his kill count and so every possible death afterward is much more personal and brutal.
Jamie: All of Jamie's tests revolve around her relationships with other people. Her first trial involves guiding Erin into the closet to hide from Du'Met. You play this scenario out in Curator/Shared Story: you find a warning from Du'Met that you must tell Erin to hide or he'll kill her. Not long after that Jamie is tested again when she's faced with killing Erin versus Kate. I theorize that Du'Met left the leak in Kate's window on purpose (he needs her to be alive for his ultimatum) with the test here being how deep Jamie's feelings for Erin go. Whichever way the player ultimately chooses, Kate walks away alive so Du'Met's ultimatum can work.
I think Du'Met sees Jamie as his “rival” and the most challenging of the crew. She has knowledge of electrical wiring and can mess around with his system a little. I think the first power outage was intentional to test her capabilities. Later things start going awry (Charlie throwing the book that blocks the walls from closing was definitely not in the plan) so I don't know if Jamie messing with that other circuit breaker was what Du'Met wanted. I also don't think her final “trial” was planned: Du'Met didn't intend for the girls to find his director's suite, so luring them into the glass room was more of a gambit. Obviously here he's hoping that Jamie's relationship with Kate has improved enough that Jamie would sacrifice herself, because Kate dying would make him lose the leverage Du'Met needs to manipulate Mark. I highly doubt he factored in the screwdriver breaking the glass, so in Du'Met's perspective someone's going to die whichever way the scenario goes.
Kate: The game touches a bit on Kate's PTSD and survivor's guilt, and Du'Met's original plan certainly revolves around that. In two cases, Kate is put in a situation where the options are her versus one of the crew. In the first case, Jamie could potentially kill Erin to save Kate; in the second, Jamie could sacrifice herself to keep Kate alive. If both of these things happen, Kate's survivor's guilt will be built up to an extreme by the time it's down to her and Mark. Du'Met's idea here is to torment her with that until her last breath. His ultimatum requires Mark to choose Kate over five strangers, compounding Kate's survivor's guilt even more. It is also more directly linked to her being the cause of these people's deaths.
Mark: Du'Met marks him as the “ferryman”, which implies he sees Mark as the most malleable/weak of the group. The game's narrative tells us that Mark waffles over decisions and doesn't take huge risks. His only trial involves holding down the lever connected to Charlie's furnace chamber (Curator's Cut/Shared Story). Du'Met is banking on Mark's sense of self-preservation here but even if Charlie makes it out, the crew doesn't know this and Mark is left with the (presumed) knowledge that he didn't save Charlie. This feeds into things later when it's down to Mark and Kate and he has a chance to save her-- as long as he agrees to the ultimatum.
Since Mark is intended as the “ferryman”, he doesn't have any chances to die until the end when Du'Met's original plan falls apart. He was meant to fall into that jail cell and wait while everyone else except Kate was picked off, but of course that went wrong when the strap of his camera caught. Even if the player is caught by Du'Met, Mark can easily escape. Overall, Mark experienced the least amount of Du'Met planning. There are a few possibilities why this is a case: Du'Met didn't think he was worth the trouble, Du'Met thought Mark's tendency to waffle and not take risks would mess things up, or there were some hiccups in previous groups that made Du'Met want to make sure the “ferryman” was isolated and out of the way.
If everything goes as planned, Du'Met only uses the axe as an intimidation tactic with Kate by purposefully missing and making her fear for her life. But if things are messing up, the axe is used as a weapon-- both Jamie and Erin can be killed by the axe, and of course Du'Met is still assuming that Charlie is dead. I personally don't think the final showdown on the boat was intended by Du'Met at all. It reduces him to an unsophisticated axe murderer in close quarters where the victims can easily get away from him.
Du'Met plays classical music when activating his traps, which suggests he sees himself as cultured and refined. All of this is “art”, after all. It's only if the crew keeps messing with his traps that he spirals into a more traditional murderer. We don't really see much of his previous kills. Some of the skeleton crew look like they could be accidents or suicides. All we know about the Morellos is the order they died in. With the group before them (the Lees and the Halls), we know how they died but nothing else. With how Du'Met treats the crew, it's safe to assume that he created traps/scenarios that messed with each of his victims based on their profile/his observations. We see him doing the same thing with the next group (June Collins and her family). I'm not sure where the students we see in the other end credits fit in since there's no information on them in the game-- all that's implied there is that the cycle is going to continue, leaving the player with a sense of foreboding.
The theories about Du'Met/Munday are all over the place but I think we can all agree on one thing: his original plan was carefully laid out to tailor to each of the crew in specific ways, and it's only because the crew started messing things up that the plan eventually unravels.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me
SCARF: Charlie Lonnit x fem!reader
Tumblr media
Summary: No one seems to appreciate Charlie's scarf. She wants to change that.
Notes: English isn't my first language. I apologize for any mistake I made while I wrote this short story.
Warnings: tooth rotting fluff
•••
"Has anyone ever told you that you look really cute with that scarf on?"
The question was very sudden - too sudden for the situation they were in. Charlie was throwing everything out of the famous blue bag when the question left his lover's mouth. He froze as he was about to unzip the front pocket.
Meanwhile she was laying on her stomach on the bed in Charlie's room - what was a bit uncomfortable for her taste. Not like it mattered. They will end up curled up close to each other at night one way or another, not caring about the way too cheap matress or about the fact that her room will be empty and there is a chance that the rest of the crew will get suspicious.
"I'm sorry?"
"I think you look cute with that scarf on." she answered. She was smiling teasingly, but her cheeks were red from shyness. "Like, I don't think anyone's ever appreciated it."
Charlie left the blue bag on the floor. The cigarettes he was looking for a few moments ago were long forgotten. He walked towards his lover and stopped when he reached the bed.
"You like my scarf?"
"Yeah. It makes me want to kiss you."
Both of them became red from her words. She thought she said a bit too much and that line sounded much better in her mind. Meanwhile Charlie tried to process the affection she showed in that very moment, because no one said anything like that to him for a long time.
"It's good to know that my scarf is the only reason why you want to kiss me these days." he teased back after he found his voice.
It was her turn to shy away. "Come on! I didn't mean it like that!" she said defensively as she tried to get off of the bed.
Charlie stopped her though as he sat down next to her and reached for her hand gently.
"I know what you meant, darling." the nickname still made her stomach flip. "And I gotta say you look really cute with my cap on."
She tried to hide her face from him unsuccesfully. He touched her face and drew gentle, invisible circles under her right eye with his thumb. His other hand let go of her hand and brushed a lock of hair out of her face, what escaped from under the cap.
"Although if you start to wear even more of my clothes, I think the crew will get suspicious." he continued.
"Oh, come on, Charlie! I came here with your cap on and they didn't notice a thing."
"Yes, and last week you were helping Mark with the equipment while you had my shirt on." Charlie said with a huge smile on his face as he watched his darling's expressions. She tried to hide behind her hands.
"But it's a very comfortable shirt!"
"Yes, and it looks like a dress on you."
"A very comfortable dress what smells like you!"
They both chuckled as they finished their childish fight. She sat up on the bed as close to Charlie as possible.
"You'll let me wear the scarf, right?" she asked with a small smile - the smile what always made Charlie say yes to everything she wanted.
"I thought you said it looks good on me?"
"Yes, it does."
"Well, I think it's quite obvious that it'll look a hundred times better on you."
Her cheeks became red as she threw a pillow at him. He just laughed as he got rid of the scarf only to give it to her.

Charlie Lonnit x Du'met ( kinda )
masterlist
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How long had it been now ? Minutes, hours, days, weeks, months or even years. He did not know in the past moons that passed over the estate had become insignificant. Why should it matter to him, not anymore, not since they left him behind. Their boss, their friend and something like a substitute father. But it was his own fault, wasn't it?
Or was it something else, but the blade of the knife that had become almost familiar seemed to be the answer. No, it was his sin, he had to atone for his actions towards his team. He was eager to get here, anything but going broke, pushing his team to the max and only the best, failure was not an option. His opinion that he was above the others was a distant echo as the blade touched his body for the first time. But also a distant memory of many.
The blue bright eyes opened abruptly and pain seized his body immediately. He knew the room only too well his personal macabre left. He did not have to look at his hands and feet to see the metal shackles on them. The weight of the metal lay heavily on his exhausted body and his wrists and ankles were already sore.
It wasn't that it was blue, but the flesh was clearly bruised and burned with every movement of the heavy metal. His neck was stiff and his back ached as he rose from his sitting position on the floor. Since he had no bed in his room, the stone-covered floor was the only means of sleep. His once so cleanly kept formal clothes were hardly recognizable.
He had lost his shoes on the cliffs as well as his glasses, which had broken shortly after his capture. The once white shirt of blood and dirt streaked as well as torn if Du'met could not wait. Could not wait to play with his toys new games. His left trouser leg was torn off when he tried to jump over a splintered window which only led to his fall. His suit vest hung loosely on him and the buttons had long since disappeared into the darkness.
The only thing he still knew that belonged to him were his bright blue eyes that seemed to shine even in the darkest hour of his life. His dirty, bloodied and cracked knuckles had not stopped trembling since his captivity.
If there was such a thing as karma, he knew it had gotten to him. He had been in withdrawal for a time he did not know. The nicotine that was not given to his body caused extra physical and mental pain. His withdrawal continued to torture him when Du'met did not. But his blue eyes remained on his clothes or on the dirty bloody floor. If he had looked up, he would have looked only into his own broken body.
Du'met had given him a room with monitors on which his own torture was shown to him in an endless time loop. Initially he could not take his eyes off the flickering videos. How his own eyes painfully recorded with horror and shock the events of which he hoped it was only a dream.
How he saw himself, his former version full of hope, hope for salvation and his survival. But at the latest after Du'met had revived him for Charlie incomprehensible reasons, he knew that he would not get out of here. Never again would he see the sun rise.
He could not give himself this hope that lay in his eyes. Not after he knew what would await him again. He saw the red siren light up before his steel door opened automatically. ,,Come on, we're waiting," he heard his friends' voice cut together automatically. ,,I know," it came brokenly from his dry throat as he moved forward, swaying slightly. Only when his hands rested on the door frame did he dare to look up.
The hotel he had once admired was spreading out and seemed to be waiting for him. It seemed to be finally waiting for another victim. The blue-eyed man would have liked nothing better than to drag himself back to his cell and crawl into a corner.
But since the door closed automatically behind him, he had no choice but to continue walking forward. His hand and ankle cuffs made a slight ringing sound as a few cracking noises came from his knees moving again.
He would never let me out of his sight he thought bitterly and looked up at a camera his captor had attached. The small red flashing light let him know that the older man was watching him carefully.
When Charlie decided to walk towards the main hall to have more freedom, a moving wall thwarted him. ,,The game begins," he heard the distorted voice of his friends before he started running to get in the said direction. He knew that if he didn't, he'd be able to get his wings out again.
He still felt the hot iron on his back after he refused to play the game, the smell of his own flesh made him gag before he scurried past the wall and it closed behind him. By now it was like a game of cat and mouse for the two of them. Du'met couldn't live without his beloved prey and Charlie began to doubt whether he shouldn't just throw himself at the knife and become the perfect puppet.
But he did not want to give up this last will, he knew that his friends had survived. Were they friends at all, do friends leave other friends in the lurch? He shook his head and another crack was heard. Less thinking more running he knew but it seemed both men knew how far they could go.
A sick game of obsession in which they both tried to break the other before they could break him on their own, either to escape from here or to make him his own beautiful doll.
But by now it was his loud rapid heartbeat and the rush of blood in his ears that Charlie heard, running as fast as he could through the hotel. He knew exactly where the main hall was, but the closer he got to it, the more he knew that Du'met was getting closer to him.
He ran around one of the many corners as his nibbled fingers clung anxiously to the tapestry. ,,N-No, it can't be," came from his brittle, bloody lips as he discovered a wall in front of him. He had gone this way hundreds of times and there had never been a wall. New special game," he heard the automatic voice and his fingers carved hatefully and panic-stricken over the wall. ,,Just stop...please" came from Charlie and he felt his mind weighing his chances.
While one broken part of him wanted nothing more than to die and let go of all the pain, the other part was blessed with a last spark of hope to get out of here. To have the satisfaction of having survived the serial killer. ,,All right, let's play bastard!" he yelled into the hotel before turning around and taking another path.
He was aware that his chances were sunk after Du'met had apparently expanded the hotel, but he would have to try. He ran around a corner again when he suddenly lost his footing. A scream escaped his dry throat before his hands clung to the ground to avoid being impaled by the blood-covered spikes.
,,Come on," he said to himself as he slowly pulled himself up with trembling arms. Swaying upright, he looked down at the spikes to which he had already fallen victim. He felt the tingling sensation on his lower and upper arms where the spikes had pierced. An ugly wound but a simple scar of many.
Just a little more he heard his own inner voice and a cough took hold of him. He coughed and it seemed as if shears were going into his lungs and neck, his fingers carved over his neck but the pain remained. Would a cigarette kill me now he thought and had to laugh powerlessly. But he knew he had no time not to rest. He ran on in the hope of finally getting out of here, at least somehow. And he had exactly a plan how.
He ran down the corridor before taking the back way to the sallon with the zigarete automat. Luckily Du'met did not block his way. On the contrary, the older man seemed interested in what his doll would do. Charlie threw himself against the large double doors, hissing and gasping, before the saloon revealed itself. Briefly his blue eyes darted to the cigarette machine. The image of him when everything seemed fine flashed, but disappeared.
He hurried to the counter and looked in the drawers for something to defend himself with. He needed a weapon and even if Du'met had a knife, he should at least be able to find something else. ,,Yes," he said before pulling the screwdriver out of the drawer and gripping it tremblingly. ,,You hear me, you sicko. I'm going to finish this, I'm not playing anymore" he shouted into the hotel and something like a will to win seized him.
Despite the fact that he still had his hand and ankle cuffs on, he knew exactly where Du'met was. They both knew and yet they always seemed to circle around each other. Moving out of the room and back into the hallway, he ran toward the control room, knowing that his captor was waiting for him there, or so he hoped.
It was only a few more corridors and he would reach the secret door when suddenly all the lights in the hotel seemed to go out. ,,What the hell?" he cursed in confusion and approached the wall to have it in his back for orientation. It was dead silent, his heartbeat and the rush of his blood in his body seemed to make him deaf in this dead silence.
Gripping the screwdriver tighter, he pushed himself along the wall and ventured further. With each step he took, his inner map became more confused and blurred.
The floor was no longer woody, it became harder and stonier, as if he had suddenly changed the entire floor. Where the hell am I ? he asked himself, but only looked into the darkness. There was no point where he could have oriented himself instead he did not even notice how he went into a larger room that he still thought was the hallway.
Only when the heavy metal door closed with a bang did he turn, wincing, in the direction of the sound. ,,No,no, no, no, no," he muttered hastily and was about to move toward the sound when suddenly the lights in the room came on. He stiffened as a cold hand was placed on his neck and tore him with a force that he was simply thundered without resistance against the stony wall.
A cry came over his lips as he felt the warm blood on his nose flow onto his lips and bent his shirt and the floor. His vision was slightly blurred, but he clearly recognized the man in the mask. Wrapping the scissor puller tighter, he aimed directly at the man's chest.
But before Charlie could reach it, Du'met had knocked the gun out of his hand and kicked him in the stomach. Staggering and gasping for air, the blue-eyed man hit the wall and doubled over in pain. Any moment he could swear to throw up as the miserable feeling would not escape him.
But he didn't have time to attack, because when the leather gloves got caught in his hair and thundered him up against the wall again, he saw black spots in front of his eyes. ,,Le-Let me loose" Charlie hissed powerlessly and his arms desperately tried to free themselves from the grip. His voice failed, however, as he cried out again as the cold metal of the knife du'met bored into his shoulder and effortlessly severed the flesh.
He saw the joy in the dark eyes of the serial killer. How it almost put him in an ecstasy to see his doll so. Charlie bit his lip hard as Du'met seemed to pull the knife extra slowly from his shoulder. He felt the warm blood wet his shirt and flow down his body. ,,Let me go!" he yelled desperately at the older man as he realized he was too physically weak to do anything.
But only a slight tilting of the head seemed to be the answer. Before the grip strengthened in his hair and before Charlie could say anything, Du'met had slammed his head against the wall several times before the younger man collapsed unconscious.
So how long had it been since that event? Again only minutes, hours, days, weeks he did not know it all Charlie knew that he heard a ticking. With his head throbbing, he awoke from his unconsciousness and his eyes had to adjust to the now slightly lighted room.
However, he immediately stiffened when he heard the sound of Du'met coming out of the darkness behind him. He suppressed a cry of pain as his head was jerked back as Du'met looked directly at him. Silence lay between them and no one seemed to say anything.
Charlie swallowed nervously, knowing there was no escape from the torture, but something seemed to have changed in the expression in the killer's dark eyes. He seemed full of excitement but why?
With a jerk he released Charlie, who only noticed when he stood up that he was tied to the chair. Pulling and tugging on the leather rims did not get him any further. His blue eyes followed the other with fear as he walked around him and stood in front of him. He looked up at Du'met and Du'met looked silently behind his white mask at Charlie. ,, Pl-Please," came a beaten sound from his lips and his blue eyes showed nothing but exhaustion and brokenness.
Charlie pressed himself against the metal chair as Du'met slowly reached out a hand to him and he feared the worst. Instead, the cold leather gloves slid over his neck almost eager for more. They lingered for a moment on his aorta, squeezing just a fraction. His heart was racing, his blood was rushing and Charlie was afraid to make a sound.
He was afraid to breathe and pull Du'met out of his trance. He swallowed as Du'met went from his neck up to his cheek, the cool leather giving him goosebumps but he dared not flinch. He suppressed a hiss as Du'met ran his hand over the damaged lips. Almost tenderly he stroked the split lip before his fingers slid further.
What made Charlie flinch, however, was Du'met's other hand resting on his knee. It was a strange disgusting even scandalous feeling. ,,N-not " came a quiet tremble over Charlie's lips as the hand on his knee continued to move slowly upward.
But his blue eyes could not break away from the dark behind the mask. Charlie's hands tangled around the metal the closer Du'met came to his affordance. He didn't have to remember how those moments had passed between them.
He could still feel it, every scratch, every bite, every kiss and every thrust as Du'met slammed his head down on the cool metal table to keep him still for a moment. It was a moment that had burned itself into his mind. ,,Stop please" came the next plea as he desperately tried not to relive what he had already experienced.
There was shame on his face as he looked away, hoping the older man would at least make it quick. Before Du'met suddenly let go of him and instead grabbed his white shirt and tore it open. Goosebumps gripped his body and a surprised gasp escaped him. He flinched as Du'met picked up a felt-tip pen and at first worried that it might have been a weapon.
To his alarm, the murderer removed the cap of the pen before applying the cool stylus to Charlie's left pinky and ring finger. He traced the small strokes and with shock the younger slowly became aware of what the older was doing. Panic-stricken, he shook the fetlocks and tried to get free, ,,No, don't," he pleaded, feeling tears forming in his eyes.
Not my body, he thought, knowing that whatever the psychopath had in mind, he could rebuild it as he wished. He was the lamb that had not yet been eaten by the mercy of the wolf. When Du'met was done with his hands, Charlie's panic was not over. Instead, the killer moved up to his face and began to make the macking around Charlie's left eyes.
A tremor had gripped his body as he became aware of what the killer was about to do. Silent tears ran down his cheeks and wetted his chest and shirt. He hardly noticed how Du'met almost lovingly wiped away the tear and pulled his slightly damp leather gloves over Charlie's bloody lips. Only when Du'met moved away from Charlie to get the things he needed for his next step did it escape Charlie's lips.
A laugh, a loud throaty laugh that mingled with his crying and whimpering. Mad. ,,This is all a bad joke," he laughed, torn between insanity and the sheer panic that would overcome him. Through his seizure he hardly saw Du'met coming towards him, holding a box of cigarettes in his hand.
Only when a knife bored into his thigh and was twisted around as well as a fist hit him so hard in the face that his nose began to bleed again, Charlie became silent.
Distraught, he looked up at the older man, who didn't seem to like the way his victim was reacting. Wordlessly he took out a cigarette and held it in front of Charlie's bloody lips. ,,A-A joke?" Charlie hissed as the pain of the knife became unbearable. Instead he saw Du'met reach into his pocket and light his lighter.
A jolt went through his arms as they instinctively tried to grab the cigarette, but couldn't. ,,Give it to me," he said and tried to reach the cigarette, but Du'met pulled it away. What else does he want? Charlie asked himself, looking up at the masked man, slightly confused.
Du'met was about to turn around and leave with the cigarettes when a pitiful pleading, ,,No, please - please Sir - please give me a cigarette" came from Charlie's lips. Shame's redness spread to his cheeks and ears as he looked pathetically pleading to Du'met with tears in his eyes.
He thought that for a fraction the corners of the older man's mouth moved upward. Du'met lit the cigarette and held it in front of Charlie's lips, who accepted it. The younger man felt his body relax automatically and absorb the nicotine almost with girth. Since he had closed his eyes, he did not see how Du'met had disappeared behind him.
Only when he felt something hot burning against his chest he cried out and dropped the cigarette to the floor. But before he realized what it was, the pain came again and again. Again and again, the older man burned him with the fire and the cigarettes until the room was permeated with a disgusting stench of burnt flesh. ,,Stop it!" he shouted when the burning became unbearable. But Du'met didn't even seem to think about it.
The lighter was held under his fingers and Charlie desperately tried to escape. But it was useless how long Du'met was maquetting and engraving his doll he didn't know but at the latest when the lighter had no more gas or the broken screams became too boring for him he stopped. Charlie hung his head powerlessly, the tears had dried in the meantime and the knife which was still stuck in his thigh seemed almost insignificant.
When the shrill sound of the circular saw reached his ears, his head jerked up. ,,Oh no, please don't no, sir, please!" he screamed louder and louder as he became aware of what was about to happen.
But the masked man seemed to still hear him or to finally want to create his perfect puppet. He gently placed a cool hand covered by the leather gloves on Charlie's cheek.
Whether it was an impulse or instinct or his desire to survive, Charlie didn't know. But he leaned against the hand and with a final silent plea and a pull away of the glove, the cool shrill metal cut through the two fingers.
This was one of those moments when everything seemed to cease to exist. He was hardly aware of the pain in his dazed stupor, and the feeling of the missing fingers was negligible.
Instead, his blue eyes focused on the cigarette lying at his feet. How the embers pulled at the stem how the smoke slowly rose and how he and the fire went out in a last blink a last breath. His body sank into unconsciousness something that brought him the relieving darkness.
But for how long? How long would it take for him to wake up and see the horror Du'met had left behind. Again Charlie did not know how much time had passed after Du'met had tortured him. What he did know vaguely was how he was in his room and slowly coming to. How he wanted to scream because of the pain that ran through his body but could not.
How he stood up and immediately collapsed again as his legs gave way. What had happened? And what were those noises from everywhere that seemed to take over the whole hotel.
Trying to get up again, he swayed from left to right and only then did he realize. It should have been clear to him since he woke up. The vision in his left eye was gone, only shadows and distortions flitted across his vision. Panic seized him and he hastily looked for something to look at.
He lifted himself up to one of the monitors and with a last panic-stricken breath he finally looked up. A scream immediately crossed his lips, a scream that made him go numb. It echoed off the walls and seemed to go through the whole house.
His pretty beautiful bright left blue eye was torn away and destroyed. Instead, the dark brown almost black looking eye which looked exactly like Du'met at this point. Stunned he stepped closer to the TV and saw how in this blackness Du'met was apparently still staring at him in death looking at his masterpiece or wherever the killer was.
It was disgusting and hate and disgust rose in him. Du'met had made him his. But when his black eye looked at his complete reflection, he cried out again and held his left hand in front of his face. His fleshy human fingers were gone. The sound of the circular saw in his ears made him tremble. Instead of fingers, the serial killer had made them out of metal. With effort and tears mixed with his incomprehensible words, he tried to move his fingers.
But with every little movement, the metal seemed to eat further into his flesh. The next thing he knew, his door flew open and armed police rushed in, pointing their weapons at him. ,,Damn, that's him. Sir, we have a survivor," said one of the men before they escorted the broken man out. But even this way he had hoped for so long seemed like a dream. Only when he felt the sun on his battered skin did he know it was not. He was free, free and no longer a prisoner.
These events were now two weeks ago, he knew that because of his calendar. Having a sense of time was something that brought him back to reality. Two weeks after he was rescued from Du'met's clutches, and with each tick of the clock in his apartment, he became more nervous and restless. They wanted to be there long ago, he cursed inwardly and paced back and forth.
He didn't know why he had called his former team to him. It was an impulse when he picked up the phone. His head jerked to the door when it rang. Hastily he went to the door and opened it before retreating back to his apartment. Something was wrong, there was no greeting or hug. They walked in silently and as Charlie leaned against his desk he saw what was going on.
They all looked at him with a smile. No, that wasn't right, he shook his head and covered his bruised eye with his hand. ,,Charlie?" came cautiously from Erin, who took a step closer.
What's wrong with me? his thoughts raced, something was wrong, what was right. ,,You're alive," Jamie stated and had an uncertain look in her eyes. ,,I wouldn't call it living, not after that," came from Charlie, who took off his left hand glove and removed his hand from his eye. Startled noises came from the four people and they took a step back. ,,Charlie, what happened?" asked Kate, who was the first to recover her voice.
As Charlie looked to the redhead, a shadow flashed across his field of vision. Someone he knew only too well seemed to be with him, guarding him. ,,You left me behind!" he suddenly shouted, holding his aching hand as he jerked his head away from the cold leather on his cheek. ,,I thought you were dead," Mark said, trying to calm the eldest.
As a result, Charlie retreated behind the desk and put his healthy hand to the drawer. ,,Charlie, we saw blood and-" Kate was interrupted by a shaky laugh. ,,Blood, yes, yes, that's good. You were looking for everyone else but me. Stop it!" he said and his left hand jerked away as he clearly saw Du'met with the circular saw in his left eye. ,,But we didn't do anything?" came a confused Jamie, who stood next to Erin and put a reassuring hand on her girlfriend's shoulder. His uneven eyes looked at Jamie. ,,Nothing done? Nothing done then yes? You did this to me, you let him break me!" he screamed and his hand had found the button for the automatic door lock.
The sound of the door closing was drowned out when Kate intervened. ,,Enough! Damn it Charlie I'm sorry okay we thought you were dead and we didn't want to leave you behind it happened. But believe us it was not our intention " she said and Mark nodded in agreement.
He hurriedly looked back and forth between the four youngsters before he saw Du'met in the corner of his room. ,,Go away," he muttered and his eyes went to his new hand. ,,Do you need some medicine or help?" Erin dared to try again, clearly upset.
A laugh came from his lips and the others seemed to flinch. ,,Oh, Erin, you want to help me? You are the one who tied me to this fence. It's all your fault you made me do it!" he spat and saw how hard it hit the younger one. ,,That's enough Charlie!" Jamie intervened and seemed to want to go with Erin. He felt Du'met behind him rather than his cool leather gloves resting on his shoulders and seeming to possess him.
The devil in me he thought and the grin on his lips widened. The pain in his dark eye increased and the surroundings on the left seemed to blur more and more. There was something in him that wanted to be satisfied. ,,Don't go, please, I'm just starting my new movie," he purred, his right hand reaching for the sharp, pointed letter opener. ,,What?" came a confused Kate, who also stepped back.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
,,You know, something good came out of it...my brokenness. I can finally see it," he began, hiding the letter opener behind his back. ,,See what?" Erin dared to ask, clinging to Jamie. ,,My victims," he said before launching himself at his former friends. It was pure satisfaction as the blade dug into Erin's neck. How simple it was and so efficient.
With each cut, each thrust and each scream, his vision seemed to turn more and more red. A pool of blood gathered in the room before the four people lay dead on the floor. ,,You were right, you made me better," he said and his gaze went to the mirror. But instead of himself he saw Du'met standing there, the white mask on his face and the bloody knife in his hand.
A giggle came over his lips, a joke that was all a big joke that he found all too amusing. But he knew that he could create something even greater than Du'met. He could live on through the killer and create his masterpiece, the film he always wanted to make.
The glory that had always been his would be his. And with the death of his friends it would begin. He grabbed his camera, turned it on and let his game begin. The devil had taken possession of him, broken him and built him up again. He had made him complete.
