Getting ready to be chauffeured around the Illinois State Fair (in a golf cart ⛳️😂) with some of my lovely coworkers! Fair food, here I come 😋 (BTW, ignore the messy hair ~ Midwestern humidity has taken over 🥵👩🏻🦱‼️😜)

Aotearoa NZ is currently in a state of emergency - the last few weeks have been flash flooding in the north island, followed by cyclone gabrielle hitting and causing widespread damage. we have also experienced a 6.3 mag earthquake last night and frankly, we still don't know what infastructure damage has been done by that on top on everything.
there have been multiple fatalities and many people are unaccounted for. thousands of people are cut off and uncontactable. many more are currently homelesses and have had everything destroyed in the flooding.
i've attached a few orgs below that are providing emergency services and have received less public visibility.
Orange Sky provides clean laundry and warm showers to those experiencing homelessness, and has currently expanded to cover those left displaced by flooding and damage - you can donate here
Fairfood in Avondale Auckland is distributing meals - donations can be made here
Give A Kid A Blanket is providing blankets and duvets, as well as baby supplies - donations can be made here
HUHA is providing emergency response (rounding up and providing veterinary care) to pets and other animals caught in the flooding and damage - they can be donated to here
if any other orgs pop up, i'll add them to this post. if any kiwis are in dire conditions and need support, feel free to tack onto this post.
I'd love to play playstion 2 games with anyone I'm amicable with at my new flatscreen CRT setup in my closet. Like a classic style sleepover, with junkfood that tastes good.
Heck with the fair in town I'd so much love to share fairfood with people but my family and friends in the area seem to have little interest in that sort of thing.
I'm realizing I love the concept and aesthetics of many types of celebrations, like carnivals and the holidays, but hardly partake in anything to do with them out of anxiety and no one around who also really likes them.
Went to the Alameda County Fair and had a 18 inches long corndog, because why not?! Quickly realized it was like eating 3 corndogs back to back. Couldn’t finish it. Could have gone with a smaller size… but then I would not have this hilarious picture. #alamedacountyfair #corndog #fairfood #happy4thofjulyweekend (at Alameda County Fair) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cfh7bRkpvjV/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
