My WindClan Allegiances

Gravelstar, son of Thistlesong of SkyClan (deceased; in Dark Forest) and Driftleap, and brother to Boulderstar and Ashstone of ThunderClan, is current leader of WindClan. His deputy is Nettlemoon, mother to Fleetwhisker and Tawnyswipe and former mates with Blacksnarl (deceased; in StarClan). Current medicine cat is Lynxeyes. Driftleap and Rustspring are the sons of Lilyleap (deceased; in StarClan) and Strikeheart the elder. Cherrywhisper is mates with Leafsong and they are the parents of Brackenpaw, mentored by Lynxeyes. Ferretstreak is mates with Rosebird, who is the daughter of Blacksnarl and an unknown mate, and they are the parents to Jumpkit and Duskkit. Maggotpaw, mentored by Ferretstreak, and Beetlepaw, mentored by Cherrywhisper, are the daughters of Rustspring and Tawnyswipe.

The elder, Strikeheart, passes away in the night peacefully. Brackenpaw, Maggotpaw and Beetlepaw all get their new names, Brackenwillow, Beetlefeather and Maggotsky. Rosebird returns to her warrior duties as Jumppaw, mentored by Fleetwhisker, and Duskpaw, mentored by Driftleap, become new apprentices. Maggotsky secretly becomes mates with Brackenwillow and has Lizardkit and Barkkit. Currently, no one knows about the relationship.

Rustspring is killed by dogs that a Twoleg from the barn let loose. Jumppaw and Duskpaw earn their warrior names, Jumpfrost and Duskmask. Maggotsky returns to her warrior duties after her kits become apprentices, Lizardpaw mentored by Duskmask and Barkpaw mentored by Beetlefeather. Rosebird moves into the nursery to give birth to Ferretstreak’s second litter, Hazelkit and Tanglekit. As all the drama regarding ShadowClan, ThunderClan and BoneClan takes place, Gravelstar is determined to keep his clan as far away from it, even as it is revealed he is related to Boulderstar, Ashstone, Waterstar, Shadefur, and Silverthistle. It has always been speculated that he might be related to Boulderstar and Ashstone ever since Ashstone revealed he was Boulderstar’s brother and left ShadowClan to join ThunderClan. His clan does not mind who his kin is and respects him as a good leader. Still, Gravelstar can not ignore all drama as his warrior Beetlefeather informs the clan that her sister and Brackenwillow had been mates. The clan expects Brackenwillow to be stripped of his medicine cat title, but Gravelstar lets it slide. Eventually, the clan settles down as Cherrywhisper, Rosebird and Leafsong all fiercely defend their kits, despite Beetlefeather and Lynxeyes’s attempts for the clan to see otherwise.

Lynxeyes is killed by dogs while collecting herbs. Gravelstar decides to send a patrol to deal with them, and Leafsong ends up dying before they chase the dogs away. Nettlemoon steps down from being deputy and retires to the elders’ den. Beetlefeather is chosen as the next deputy of WindClan. Maggotsky and Brackenwillow’s kits become warriors with the new names Barkflower and Lizardstrike. Rosebird’s second litter become apprentices, Hazelpaw mentored by Cherrywhisper and Tanglepaw by Fleetwhisker, and she returns to her warrior duties. Jumpfrost moves into the nursery, nursing Covescreech of ShadowClan’s kits, Morningkit, Sunnykit, and Ebonykit. No one knows their true father yet.

The previous apprentices are made into warriors, Hazelweed and Tangleflame. Jumpfrost’s kits become apprentices, Sunnypaw mentored by Ferretstreak, Morningpaw by Barkflower, while Ebonypaw chooses to be a medicine cat apprentice trained by Brackenwillow. Jumpfrost reveals that Covescreech is the father of her kits, and that he wants to join WindClan. WindClan, having been through all the drama before and become rather accepting off it, lets Covescreech join their ranks without problem. Only Beetlefeather, the deputy, really disagreed with this action. Meanwhile, Fleetwhisker gives birth to Driftleap’s kits, Eaglekit and Russetkit.

Tawnyswipe, Cherrywhisper and Ferretstreak all die from greencough, while Morningpaw and Rosebird survive. Morningpaw and her brother, Sunnypaw, become warriors, Morningmoon and Sunnyfire. Fleetwhisker returns to her warrior duties as her kits become apprentices, Eaglepaw trained by Jumpfrost and Russetpaw by Lizardstrike. Barkflower gives birth to Duskmask’s kits, Poolkit, Sparkkit and Finkit.

Beetlefeather dies from being attacked by a dog while out alone after getting into an argument with her sister, Maggotsky, about half-clan cats and forbidden relationships. Jumpfrost is appointed as the new deputy of WindClan. Rosebird dies from greencough. The apprentices get their new names, Ebonyraven, Russetleap, and Eagletuft. Barkflower returns to her warrior duties as her kits become apprentices, Poolpaw mentored by Covescreech, Sparkpaw by Lizardstrike, and Finpaw by Sunnyfire. Tangleflame, who is mates with Morningmoon, gives birth to Lizardstrike’s kits, Doekit, Pouncekit, and Dapplekit.

Driftleap and Fleetwhisker retire to the elders’ den. The apprentices earn their warrior names, Poolfur, Sparkwhisker and Finflight. Tangleflame returns to her warrior duties as her kits become apprentices, Doepaw mentored by Morningmoon, Pouncepaw by Hazelweed, and Dapplepaw by Jumpfrost. Eagletuft gives birth to Sunnyfire’s sons, Seedkit and Blossomkit.

Barkflower dies from green cough. Nettlemoon dies from old age. Tangleflame and Sparkwhisker are killed after eating rotten crow-food. Gravelstar loses his last life after defending his clan from a fox. Jumpfrost becomes Jumpstar, leader of WindClan, and appoints her son, Sunnyfire, as deputy. The apprentices become warriors named Doebreeze, Pounceshade, and Dapplesting. Eagletuft returns to her warrior duties as her sons become apprentices, Seedpaw trained by Poolfur and Blossompaw by Morningmoon. Finflight gives birth to Russetleap’s kits, Mintkit, Springkit, and Brindlekit.

Duskmask drowns after falling through the ice in leaf-bare. The apprentices become warriors named Seedslip and Blossomwind. Finflight returns to her warrior duties as her kits become apprentices, Mintpaw mentored by Maggotsky, Springpaw by Eagletuft, and Brindlepaw by Pounceshade. Doebreeze gives birth to Poolfur’s kits, naming her toms Deadkit- because he’s dead to her- and Leechkit- because he’s nothing but a leech to her, and her ‘special’ she-kit Nightkit. Poolfur argues for her to change the tom’s names but she refuses. Morningmoon, who is mates with Tangleflame, is expecting Lizardstrike’s kits.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good way to keep track of who's related to who in terms of your warrior cat OCs? I have my alliegences in a Google doc and just make a note next to the name of who their siblings and parents are, but I feel like there's a better way to go about this

Speaking of games, have you heard of Cattails or Stray <3 ?

DULLARD: Heard of, never played. I was around for Cattails' original iteration as a Warriors fan-game, and that's it.

LYNX: I've heard of both and have only played the former. To be all honest..... I don't like Cattails. The Pokemon fandom spoiled me on what a good fangame can be with Pokemon Uranium and Renegade Platinum and so on, and I've got... hundreds of hours logged in on Stardew Valley, a lifesim game in the same vein as Cattails. The seasons are way too short, you can easily memorize every item in the game in one real day, the NPCs have as much depth as a kiddiepool in a Texan summer, there's virtually no sense of history to the region, the cats don't really have any culture or personality beyond a surface-level paint, the gameplay is very simple, the graphics are a little unattractive, and - this one's solely my taste - the game ruptures its verisimilitude on the premise "feral cats living in the forest" by having the Mountain Domain have banners, moles talking to cats about mining, and Krampy existing. I know he's a fan-favorite, I know he's a Kickstarter backer character with basically every other character in the Mystic Colony, but why on God's Green Earth does a feral cat have a plague doctor mask?

Good on FalconDevelops for making a game and godspeed to him on Wildwood Story; it's already looking better than Cattails. I hope nothing but the best for him and his game development endeavors, but the only reason Cattails has a leg to stand on is because "Oh!! Cute cat game!!" when it could be better. Cheers to you if you can enjoy it; I just can't find it in me and don't want my dislike of it to influence your opinion on it.

Stray seems like another one of those Dancing Bear sorts of games (a game which only has one gimmick garnering its attention, like Cave Story and Dust: an Elysian Tail being made by mostly one guy or Temtem being "Pokemon but a competitively-built MMO"). You get to play as a cute cat. That's all there is to it. No "Come for the X, Stay for the Y" stuff here. What you see is what you get.

Tip for anyone making a Warriors story but don't have the patience to make a good allegiance: Go to Paw in Each World: Untold Legacy. It generates 4 clans and outside cats, ancestors, parentage and siblings, mates, descriptions, image, copy the list, and allows you to edit the info and add more cats.

It was also made by the same guy who made Untold Tales and Cattails, Falcondevelops!

Not HP-related, but I wanted to share this here, anyway! I’ve been incredibly inspired by the WC community and their OCs for years now and I’ve finally decided to just sit down and draw my own bunch of kittycats! Some of these OCs I’ve been thinking about for years now, some I’ve come up with just a few days ago. This took me a whole week of drawing any chance I got, but I’m super happy with the results and proud of myself for powering through such a big project!  (If anyone’s interested I also have the alliances here, courtesy of FalconDevelops’ Untold Legacy 👀)

So yay, super proud of this, and don’t be surprised if I sneak a little cat drawing every now and then here~ I just love my fuzzy children too much.

There's a game for the Nintendo Switch called Cattails where you play as a stray cat and can explore cat society, explore the world, fight other cats, find romance and raise a little of kittens. Saw that, thought of you due to your love of WC. It's on sale right now if you're curious.

My ShadowClan Allegiances

Frecklestar is current leader of ShadowClan with Dewfeather as her deputy. Bumblebranch, brother to Tansyleg and Stumpywhisker and son of Paletalon, the elder, and Strongbreeze (deceased; in StarClan), is current medicine cat. Flowerspots and Sneezeheart are the sons of Twigclaw (deceased; in StarClan). Deerflame is a former kittypet and mate to Quailfoot, who had Sparrowdawn (permenant queen) and is currently nursing Covekit, Whiskerkit and Redkit. Sageflower, Cloverwing and Hayflight are the daughters of Frecklestar. Hopepaw, mentored by Flowerspots, Miraclepaw, mentored by Deerflame, and Wolfpaw, mentored by Bumblebranch, are the daughters of Sparrowdawn and Ashstone of ThunderClan, who was formerly of ShadowClan.

Hopepaw, Miraclepaw and Wolfpaw all earn their warrior and medicine cat names, Hopewing, Miraclemoon and Wolfheart. Quailfoot returns to her warrior duties while her kits become apprentices. Covepaw is mentored by Sneezeheart, Redpaw by Dewfeather, and Whiskerpaw by Tansyleg. Sageflower, Hayflight and Cloverwing all move into the nursery at the same time, with Hayflight expecting Flowerspots’s kits. Sageflower is nursing Stumpywhisker’s kits, Toadkit, Robinkit and Brightkit while Cloverwing nurses Sneezeheart’s kits, Slatekit and Maplekit.

BoneClan attacks ShadowClan and murders their leader, Frecklestar, deputy, Dewfeather, and medicine cat, Bumblebranch under Boulderstar’s orders. The clan is thrown into disaray and turns to SkyClan and RiverClan, their allies for help while Wolfheart goes to the Moonpool for guidance from StarClan. RiverClan, while most warriors are eager to help, Waterstar chooses not to help them attack ThunderClan and BoneClan but is willing to help with hunting or keeping their kits, queens and elders safe. SkyClan agrees to help ShadowClan attack ThunderClan and BoneClan, successfully killing Boulderstar as most ThunderClan cats stand aside to let it happen, including Boulderstar’s own kits. When Wolfheart returns from the Moonpool, she announces Hopewing will be the next leader, shocking everyone as she had been an apprentice not too long ago. After much debate, Hopewing becomes Hopestar, although she knows this is only because of her grandmother Thistlesong’s enflounce. Young and inexperienced, she makes Covepaw, Redpaw, and Whiskerpaw into new warriors by the names of Covescreech, Redbreeze and Whiskerpelt. She then makes Slatepaw, mentored by Hopestar, Maplepaw, mentored by Flowerspots, Toadpaw, mentored by Covescreech, Robinpaw, mentored by Deerflame, and Brightpaw, mentored by Quailfoot, into apprentices. Her choice to give an apprentice to a new warrior is heavily questioned, as is giving one to herself, although she explains that she gave herself one as all deputies are supposed to have one before being deputy, much less leader. She appoints Sageflower as deputy as well, as sort of an apology for the death of her mother, Frecklestar. Her last act as new leader was to allow Softy, a former BoneClan rogue, and Miraclemoon, who had been secretly seeing and contemplating joining BoneClan and was pregnant with a BoneClan rogue named Storm’s kits, to join ShadowClan, giving Softy the name Softdapple. Miraclemoon gave birth to Logkit, Tuftkit and Wishkit shortly after, while Hayflight have birth to Otterkit and Darkkit. Tansyleg also moved into the nursery expecting Dewfeather’s kits.

Hopestar closes off her borders to the other clans in a panic. Her clan is still distraught over the sudden killing off of their leader, deputy and medicine cat, and they now have too many young cats too handle. Sneezeheart dies from an infection after he refused to see Wolfheart about a thorn in his paw. The five apprentices from before are now Slateclaw, Maplewing, Toadskip, Robinsong and Brightpelt. Hayflight returns to her warrior duties. Miraclemoon wants to be a permanent queen like her mother, but Hopestar tells her the clan might view her as lazy and scorn her further, so she returns to her warrior duties. The kits become apprentices, Logpaw mentored by Stumpywhisker, Tuftpaw by Cloverwing, Wishpaw by newly-made warrior Maplewing, Otterpaw by Redbreeze, and Darkpaw is given to Softdapple to prove she is a loyal ShadowClan warrior. Tansyleg gives birth to Bluekit and Heatherkit while Whiskerpelt gives birth to Slateclaw’s kits, Finchkit and Sootkit.

Robinsong and Hayflight are killed in a squirmish against BoneClan rogues since they began targeting ShadowClan for having closed borders. Covescreech leaves ShadowClan to join WindClan and be with his mate, Jumpfrost, and kits, Sunnypaw, Morningpaw and Ebonypaw. The apprentices become new warriors, Logtail, Tuftfrost, Wishsong, Otterfur and Darkwhisper. Whiskerpelt returns to her warrior duties as her kits become apprentices, Finchpaw mentored by Slateclaw, and Sootpaw by Flowerspots. Tansyleg does the same, her kits become apprentices, Bluepaw mentored by Toadskip and Heatherpaw by Sageflower. Brightpelt moves into the nursery expecting Redbreeze’s kits.

Flowerspots is killed by BoneClan rogues. ShadowClan retaliates and attacks BoneClan directly, scaring the rogues off for now. Darkwhisper, displeased with how ShadowClan is now, decides to leave the clan and become a loner. The apprentices are made into warriors after this battle, naming them Finchfur, Sootpatch, Bluestripe and Heathereyes. Brightpelt dies painfully while giving birth to her kits, Tigerkit, Oddkit, Hollykit and Waspkit. Redbreeze is extremely distraught over the loss of his mate and refuses to leave his daughters’ sides.

Quailfoot and Deerflame retire to the elders’ den together. Whiskerpelt leaves the clan to become a loner after seeing Darkwhisper do it, her daughter Sootpatch following her. Redbreeze’s daughters become apprentices, Wasppaw mentored by Tansyleg, Oddpaw by Maplewing, Hollypaw by Wishsong, and Tigerpaw by Wolfheart. The clan is on edge.

Tansyleg and Paletalon die to greencough while Hollypaw, Wasppaw and Logtail live. Heathereyes takes over Wasppaw’s training. Sageflower argues with Hopestar about convincing the she-cats that left ShadowClan to rejoin. Hopestar refuses to let her try. During the night, Sageflower sneaks out. In the morning, upon realizing her mother has left, Toadskip goes out to look for her. After a few moons of trying to find Sageflower and Toadskip, even talking briefly to Whiskerpelt, they give up and Hopestar appoints Slateclaw as deputy. The apprentices become warriors named Waspfeather, Oddcloud and Hollyheart.

Tigerpaw earns her medicine cat name, Tigershine. Quailfoot dies from old age in her sleep. Sageflower returns from the twolegplace with cats who want to join ShadowClan. Toadskip stays in twolegplace with Sootie to be a kittypet. The cats that join ShadowClan are all made apprentices, despite some being older than the youngest warriors. Victor, a stray who wandered around twolegplace, is trained by Finchfur. Filly, a former kittypet who was restless being cooped up in her home, is mentored by Wishsong. Daisy and Milkyway were siblings who were torn apart at birth but desperately wanted to see eachother again. Milkyway ran away from his two-legs and lived most of his life as a stray in the alleys beside Daisy’s home. They join ShadowClan so they can be together like a real family rather than have Milkyway fight Daisy’s two-legs everytime he wanted to see her. They are renamed Daisypaw, mentored by Logtail, and Milkypaw, mentored by Slateclaw. Meanwhile, three she-cats had decided to get pregnant to increase ShadowClan’s population and fix the lack of apprentices. Otterfur is expecting her mate Logtail’s kits. Softdapple gave birth to Tuftfrost’s kits, Hollowkit, Icekit and Ryekit. Bluestripe gave birth to Victor’s daughters, Bumblekit and Puddlekit.

The apprentices become warriors named Victor, Filly, Milkyscar and Daisyspeckle. Softdapple and Bluestripe return to their warrior duties as their kits become apprentices, Hollowpaw mentored by Miraclemoon, Icepaw by Waspfeather, Ryepaw by Oddcloud, Bumblepaw by Hollyheart, and Puddlepaw by Heathereyes. Otterfur gives birth to Logtail’s kits, Fennelkit, Rainkit, Fawnkit and Clawkit. Finchfur (trans tom; I didn’t realize he was male until later and was too lazy to change it) moves into the nursery expecting Milkyscar’s kits.
