You will never convince me that Isabel Lovelace is not disabled post-canon. Think about it.

Of everyone in the crew, she's spent by far the longest time in space. Sure, she's probably been exercising, but that isn't going to fully stop her muscles atrophying. Her bones are going to weaken. Not to mention the fact that she went into the cryo chamber, which we know isn't GREAT for you (I know Eiffel is kind of an outlier but still. Even once is gonna fuck you up at least a little).

Then add to THAT the fact that the body Lovelace has now was created by the dear listeners. Not only are they recreating a body that's already undergone almost a thousand days of the trauma of space; they're doing it with zero existing knowledge of how a human body functions in Earth's gravity. The clones are almost perfect, but there are notable differences in internal organs, and I wouldn't be surprised if Lovelace was put back together with some inconsistencies.

All this to say, I think Lovelace would become a mobility aid user when the crew lands back on Earth. Everyone on the crew would probably end up in physical therapy, but the damage done to her body would be by far the most extensive. Whereas I don't doubt Jacobi, Minkowski, and Eiffel could regain most if not all of their mobility, I think Lovelace would use a wheelchair, and eventually with PT could use crutches or a cane some days. Even if she were to regain muscle function, she would probably have some sort of chronic pain that would necessitate mobility aids!

Okay I've decided to actually do a Hazbin rewrite, mostly if characters and tiny world building to fill in some plot holes, instead of the entirety of the show's plot.

The things I'm going to start on first are worldbuilding and Alastor, because those two are probably going to take the longest. Alastor's going to take long because I actually want to like, you know... RESEARCH New Orleans culture and Voudou in order to make a more accurate and tasteful representation of it. I can probably guarantee that it is not going to be 100% accurate because A. I am not from New Orleans and have never been from their, and B. I don't practice Voudou, have never met somebody who has, and have never been invited to. However, unlike Viv, I am completely open to criticism and even any input anybody might have on where to find accurate information about it. Especially from people who do practice, because I want to do this religion justice with all the bad representation it gets.

(In case anyone is curious about what I have so far so they can give feedback, I currently plan to have his mother practice it and use charms to help bring healing and good luck, while Alastor attempts to use it to bring harm to those he deems worthy only to get tricked by a member of the Von Eldritch family. Basically, he believed he was practicing the darker side of Voudou everyone outside of the religion kept talking about [aka the stereotypical dark magic version that ISN'T true], but in actuality, it was the Von Eldritch Family tricking him into worshipping them instead. A bit like the stigma and stereotypes of the religion, ironically, caused the downfall of someone trying to use that religion for harm. After he goes to Hell, he either completely throws away the practice or uses the charms he remembers his mother making to both heal allies in battle and remind himself of her.)

I was gonna wait till I moved house to start working on organising my next zine to run but it's taking so loooong so and I'm getting the zine itch again

The majority of ppl voted for a life series zine (I'm starting out with just 3rd life), it'll be a rainbow zine like the ESMP one we did. I know last time I got a lot of complaints that I was severely limiting who got in by only having one person draw each emperor

Oh absolutely. I have a couple people I discuss things with. One (a fellow writer) already knows pretty much everything that's going to happen through to the end of the fic, so we tend to discuss things the most. Either when I'm feeling stuck or when I need to think out loud...or in text lmao, or if I'm unsure of the flow or order of events in a chapter. We discuss lots of things lol. It is really helpful though, having someone to spitball ideas with and discuss things.

back on my soap box but I'm really sick and tired of the sewing/thrift flip youtubers who frame everything as "oh i just don't know what i'm doing and i made a gown in 2 hours!" it's not even that i don't think people should be allowed to make simple garments in very little time but i think clothing has become such a misunderstood and frankly underappreciated art form that we need more people being painfully honest about the time and skill it takes.
