film school limoreau. 🎥🎞️
- marie and jordan would start in the same year together, but come from different levels of background knowledge. jordan would have gone to a secondary school where they had film programs and money to develop their own projects. marie would have all of her knowledge self-taught, from watching youtube videos and spending every night analyzing her favourite films — never really able to successfully film a solid project.
- they would have their differences, with jordan being a bit snobbier than marie would like. she’s a fan of b-roll films and cult classics, whereas jordan is a fan of big names and big pictures.
- they come together because of their obsession over one movie: everything everywhere all at once. it’s mentioned in class once and the two of them both interrupt the discussion at the same time, eyes locking — realizing that maybe they weren’t so annoying as they thought.
- marie is abundant in creativity, enjoying scribbling down story plots on random pieces of paper and sketching storyboards for hours. jordan is more meticulous with their planning, but still able to see the big picture of things and prefers to solidify scripts.
- marie likes to set up shots, light them and make them look pleasing to the eye. jordan likes to direct, get the actors into their headspace and nitpick when editing.
- they both fucking hate audio capture, but it’s where they bond. they realize it’s a weakness they both have and they partner up on certain assignments, finding themselves growing closer with each breakdown about how to compress audio or how to creatively capture foley.
- jordan realizes they’ve fallen hard for marie when she acts in a short film for them. they’re behind the camera, setting up a shot where marie’s character is sitting under a spotlight — a dramatic piece that’s set for an inner monologue. as she stares in the camera, popping her lips together and asking jordan how the framing looks… they’re rendered speechless.
- jordan spent a lot of time editing that project because they’d get lost staring at marie on screen.
- one of their classmates (emma) would ask marie and jordan to act in her short romance film. they’d have a kiss scene that they both act like they don’t care about, but the kiss looked so real and passionate that emma ‘forgot’ to record so they could do it a couple more times.
- the two of them would be dating by the end of their degree. they’d share a passion of making major production films together, starting with indie films they’d submit to festivals as a director (jordan) and cinematographer (marie).
- the two of them would become a powerhouse couple, eventually, making names for themselves as the unstoppable force behind filmmaking.

Making a short film
🎥Activity title -Making a short movie and editing it for Serbian class
🎥Activity duration - 10 hours, one day
🎥Type of activity - creativity
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Activity description
For our Serbian class, I worked with two of my classmates to film, act in, and edit a short movie. We gave Shakespeare's famous drama *Macbeth* a modern twist by setting the story in the year 2024.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Reflection
Filming and editing a modernized version of *Macbeth* with my classmates was a fantastic experience. I’m really satisfied with how it turned out, especially since both our professors and classmates were laughing and enjoying the final product. It was something entirely new for me—I had never been involved in the whole process of filming, editing, or even developing a concept like modernizing Shakespeare. This creative challenge pushed me out of my comfort zone, and I learned a lot along the way. Overall, it was rewarding to see our ideas come to life in such a unique way.
Learning outcomes

WRITTEN BY KATHERINE DIAZ VILLEGAS
I don’t remember my beginning with books, but that may have been because they’ve simply just always been a part of me. I do, however, remember my many trips to the library where I would run around pulling out any and every book that piqued my interest until the stacks threatened to fall over. It wasn’t a need to escape that lead me to books, but my curiosity.
Books are so special because through words, an author can paint any realm, person or thing into existence. Storytelling has been the traditional method of passing down history and legends since the beginning, through cave drawings to sharing tales around a fire to hieroglyphics. Once stories passed on by word-of-mouth were officially transcribed, they soon became one of the most prized possessions one could own. Books have always had the responsibility to pass on information and ideas. With them, human beings have been able to learn, grow and create.
Film enthusiasts may argue that human beings need visualization to understand a story, but I disagree. The bond a reader has with a book is one of the most transcendent relationships one could ever have. No matter how words and phrases are written and arranged, not everyone will interpret them the same way. Though the story is written the same, each reader is different and will be affected by that story in an unparalleled way. Just because the author writes the sky is blue or that the valley was vast, how a reader visualizes or connects with that small bit of context creates a world of its own. Understanding the thoughts of a character and their reasoning behind it creates a genuine bond — one that is responsible for bringing so many beloved characters to life.
A book’s limits go as far as the reader’s imagination. No matter the genre, books awaken the brain in a way that pushes us to understand and imagine for ourselves. As the protagonist and characters grow, so does the reader.
In films, which are only possible with the effort of countless people and departments, the story only lasts an hour or two. Even in series, there’s still a certain type of limitation regarding time. Whenever films are adapted from books, more likely than not, you’ll enjoy reading the book even more than seeing the film. This is because there are more details and context in books. There’s no budget or post-production, producers or actors — there’s only the author, the story and the reader. Stripping away rules and opinions leads to the possibility to dream and create.
I’ve read well over a 1,000 books and never thought I would have a favorite until I stumbled upon “The Night Circus” by Erin Morgenstern. To me, this book was the puzzle that I never knew I needed to solve. It pushed what I had expected from novels and stories to a rich dream, interlacing past and present with a parade of characters each too extraordinary to not be known.
Books today are not a tool of the past, they’re ever-evolving. They will forever be a sort of dependency we’ll have. Like history, books are survivors that will live another day to tell their tale.

Written by Mikael Trench
Films, historically speaking, are still very young forms of storytelling, with the first films ever made released during the 19th century. It’s easy to see why this art form is looked down upon by so many compared to books. Growing up, older generations warned us about the dangers of too much screen time. Equally likely is the chance your elders recommend to read instead. While literature has its perks, filmmaking is the superior storytelling medium.
What makes the art of filmmaking more admirable is the act of restraint. Books can tell any story featuring any ideas the author can imagine. While this gives books a distinct sense of escapism, films must be more inventive. Since films create fantastic scenes with budgetary limitations, filmmakers must find ways to balance these elements. From “Mary Poppins”(1964) to “Avatar” (2009), there’s bound to be a few films you admire for their ability to create mesmerizing illusions. The ability for filmmakers to work through these difficulties allows for an even greater appreciation of this craft.
Films can throw whatever visuals they want at us, but if the storytelling itself is no good, then there’s little to care about. What makes films stronger in this area is the variety of ways they tell their stories. Books allow little room for how they present their worlds other than blatantly putting it on the page for the reader to imagine. While that interpretation does add to the experience, there is still an element of disconnect that can leave some feeling underwhelmed.
From the birth of cinema, silent films always found ways to incorporate traditional literary storytelling techniques in a visual manner that allowed the audience to become far more engrossed in the experience than simply reading words. This not only offered for more enthralling moments to be made, but also for filmmaking to transcend the storytelling mold and become something far more universal. Storytelling in film must be inventive to be effective.
The legendary montage from the first 10 minutes of “Up” (2009) is a breathtaking piece of filmmaking. The animation and musical score visualize the couple’s story better than any words could. Regardless of culture or background, anyone could watch this sequence and comprehend the story while also getting wrapped up in the emotional context. It’s a testament to the craft put into every frame that makes up a film.
Films can achieve greater legacies than the books they are based on. Countless films from “The Shawshank Redemption”(1994) to “It’s a Wonderful Life” (1946) have surpassed their literary counterparts. These films differ heavily from their books, but no one seems to care. They were crafted with such ingenuity that audiences are more inspired by the big screen adaptations.
Films and books are two different works of art. Both have the power to allow us to escape into worlds we can only imagine. But filmmaking took the essence of storytelling and brought it to new and exciting heights before our very eyes. Whether they make us laugh, cry, scream or think, you can bet that a dedicated team is working their hardest to make those scenes last a lifetime.

who in skz & bts would be absolute besties
genre: skz x bts (not ships!) friends au, some school!au too. mix of idol! and nonidol! bts + skz
warnings: none!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
chan x namjoon x yoongi
i feel like this (iconic) trio would have hyung chats and hyung sleepovers and hyung writing sessions (wait just imagine the music they'd make together... i need that). the vibe would be very very chill as each of these guys on their own has a wonderfully calming energy to them. i think they'd relate to each other a lot; sharing experiences, particularly with namjoon and chan being leaders, but all three of them being suitably level-headed and extremely gifted production and songwriting wise. i can imagine that when they see each other in person they'd do that really typically guy slap on the back welcome hug thing and would all have the widest smiles too.
lee know x jin
hyung squad 2.0. this duo... is sarcastic and the humour is sahara-desert-dry. i feel like these two would get on so well from seeing their respective personalities in various interviews and skz code / run bts. they both can make an already hilarious moment ridiculously funny and i can see them exchanging dad jokes in their spare time. they're very good at teasing their members (well, in minho's case, scaring them hyunjin) and definitely play it up for the cameras, overdramatise it in a way that's pure entertainment. maybe they'd become friends after both working on a film together?! idk! i really really see actor jin and actor lee know in the future 🎥🎞️
hyunjin x tae
would definitely be the popular duo at school. you know, the two guys that all the girls and gays have crushes on, pretty much because they're good people as much as good faces. (both are important) these guys radiate the same aura of peace, thoughtfulness but also goofy and fun too. i see them taking scenic photos together on holidays and oooooh imagine how their voices would sound in a collab!! both are very fashionable so they'd also pass advice on to each other in that realm too.
changbin x hobi x jisung
pocket rockets! this trio would be hella fun, always giggling and goofing around. class clowns, a trillion percent. they'd be easy going too and the friend group that everyone loves and secretly wishes they could spend more time with. the sheer energy that radiates around these three is unmatched by, well, everything. you'd never see them without big, toothy grins adorning their faces. binnie, hobi, jisug would be a sporty trio too - apparently hobi used to be good at tennis ,changbin taekwondo and i think han would be amazing at almost every sport without even trying haha. would lowkey highkey be all the teachers' favourites because they're smart enough to get by but also their enthusiasm is standard/high for most subjects!
felix x jimin
okie okie here we go ... the cuddliest! duo! both come across as wonderful, beautiful, caring human beings who have many friends that they spend lots of time with. as a duo themselves, they're both very driven individuals so it would be beneficiary (and fun!) for them to rehearse together, helping each other with choreo and vocals - because their vocals are sorta on opposite ends of the spectrum from each other, they'd work well and develop an even larger range through collaboration. also, filter ft felix is most certainly a need, not a want. a need. both are superrrr talented at dancing so seeing them interpret each group's choreo and adding their own flairs to it!
i.n. x jungkook x seungmin
maknae squad! honestly these guys would be a bit of a nightmare in terms of always having ridiculous amounts of energy at any given point; however this can be and is put to use through dance practices and training for comebacks. since we've recently seen more of jungkook's boxing sessions (HOTTT), i think they'd all go on a day off to try something new. they're adrenalin-junkies and i think could get very involved in / good at a sport every couple of months. this would be a trio that go to theme parks, on all the terrifyingly tall rollercoasters, but would also be able to be completely relaxed at times and i can see them doing a joint mukbang v-live and having lots of laughs and yummy food :)
a/n: gonna do some more stray kids writing too !! bts are my ults but i also stan skz so there will be some more of them in the future <3
stay a while! masterlist

Vacation-Staycation Eternal Blu-ray Catch-up! The other one of these two samurai films (I don't know why I included both pictures in each), this one is certainly more a film... 🎞️ Chapter 29: Samurai Marathon 🎬 The other film's only tie to reality was the main character was (theoretically) "based on" a real person who was known for his undefeated record in his 61 duels. Samurai Marathon on the other hand is inspired by an actual event that happened (which was also the start of the first marathon in Japan). This Japanese-British co-production is just a much better film, no matter how you look at it. I enjoyed it, and would watch it again (as opposed to the previous, which is a one time watch novelty I think). This one had actual story, and acting, and characters and circumstances you got to know some and care about. Plus is was exciting, and shot well, and not at all as goofy as it's name might sound to us here. Additional notes, it was also directed by the director of Candyman, has an appearance by Danny Huston, and is scored by consummate weirdo Philip Glass. 🎥 #SamuraiMarathon (#SamuraiMarathonMovie) #TakeruhSatoh (#SatoTakeru) #NanaKomatsu #DannyHuston #BernardRose #PhilipGlass #SwordFighting #SwordFightingFilm #JapaneseFilm #BritishFilm #JapaneseBritishFilm #JapaneseCinema #Samurai #SamuraiFilm #WellGoUSAEntertainment #2020 #iLoveMovies #vacationstaycation #eternalbluraycatchup #blurays #movies #films #bluray #movie #film #cinema #MovieGeek #MovieNerd (at Jersey City, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeXGdxWuVCQgq6KT_bB7tzPyUOLYWMjZbBfTwU0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Vacation-Staycation Eternal Blu-ray Catch-up! And onto the 1970s Arrow Video blu-rays. I'd also like to point out that, while the Arrow releases may not get quite the full care to level of say, Criterion releases, they are nevertheless, very well done, and notably, they release many ones that Criterion never would. 🎞️ Chapter 11: The Bird with the Crystal Plumage Chapter 12: Horror Express 🎬 1970's The Bird with the Crystal Plumage was Dario Argento's directing debut. This film is more thriller than horror, but both often feature as elements of giallo, which is its primary genre. It is a murder mystery, which is certainly well made, visually fairly daring, at turns gorgeous and violent. Certainly quite the debut film. And though it is much better known and celebrated, of these two films, I personally prefer 1972's Horror Express. It was a British-Spanish co-production, and featured Hammer Horror alums, Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. This alone would've been enough to sell me on it, but I also found quite a bit better than I was initially expecting it would be. Yes, there is some corniness, but there's also a lot of quality to be enjoyed. And I love a good train movie. Also, at least one scene look like it easily could've been inspiration for some of the transformation horror pulled off so brilliantly 10 years later in John Carpenter's The Thing. 🎥 #TheBirdWithTheCrystalPlumage (#DarioArgentosTheBirdWithTheCrystalPlumage) #DarioArgento #EnnioMorricone #giallo #HorrorExpress #ChristopherLee #PeterCushing #TellySavalas #HammerHorrorAlumni #ShapeShiftingTerror #CultCinema #1970s #HorrorMovies #thrillers #ArrowVideo #1970 #1972 #iLoveMovies #vacationstaycation #eternalbluraycatchup #blurays #movies #films #bluray #movie #film #cinema #MovieGeek #MovieNerd (at Jersey City, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cd49D-kOJE_dSW9rdof-k62KAPM809ML1jaUrE0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
