CPE312 Software Design and Engineering
App Presentation + Exam Exemption (Finals)
Week 16
December 17-18, 2024
ִֶָ𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ🐇་༘࿐
Today was the big day—our final presentation for EduConnect TutorHub. Sir Carl told us that if we met 100% of the requirements, we’d get a perfect score, which motivated us to stay up all night finishing both the app and the paperwork. Early this morning, we gathered at the 4th floor of the CEA building to revise and finalize everything. When it was our turn, our leader introduced the app and its functionality, while I presented the documentation. After the presentation, Sir Carl pointed out some needed revisions, so we planned to fix everything and return the next day.
Later that night, Sir Carl messaged our group chat and announced that we were exempted from the finals exam as long as we submitted all requirements within the week. We were so happy—thank you, Sir Carl!

The next day, we worked hard to complete everything. Our leader prepared screenshots for white-box and black-box testing, another teammate edited the user manual brochure and tutorial video, and I updated Chapter 4 to show the app’s 100% success rate. In Chapter 5, we concluded that the app is fully functional and ready for deployment, with recommendations for future improvements. We also tested its performance on multiple devices, showing that it worked smoothly without errors.
For the System Usability Scale (SUS), Sir Carl asked us to survey more respondents to ensure accurate results. We immediately conducted surveys with classmates and managed to get a 90+ SUS score, earning an A+ rating with the best imaginable ranking. After all the revisions and the final presentation, Sir Carl gave us a perfect 100%. We were relieved and proud to have completed everything on time and secured exam exemption.

This project had its challenges—stressful moments, arguments, and sleepless nights—but we pulled through as a team. I’m grateful to Sir Carl for his guidance, which helped turn our ideas into reality. This feels like a huge milestone for me as a 3rd-year Computer Engineering student. With that, we, the team of EduConnect TutorHub, are signing off. Good night!

Digital girl
I attempted to incorporate Glitch into my illustration work and used p5.js to create interactive flat illustrations. I wanted to harness the charm of the Glitch effect, so I drew a girl using a computer at home to give it a modern feel. The room's layout was inspired by photos of female gamers' living spaces, and I used fluorescent colors to create a Cyberpunk atmosphere.
For this project, I chose the WebP format for Glitching. Users can click on different screens to change the background Glitch images. Additionally, I applied the Glitch effect separately to the line art and one of the colored layers to enhance the texture of the artwork.

Week 9 - 22/Mar
Feeling: CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S ALREADY THE FINAL LESSON
It’s the presentation day today, a chance to listen to other groups to introduce and talk more about their newspapers.
Looking back to the previous lessons, I found myself really enjoy and I always look forward to having the next lesson, there is always something new to learn.
- Definitions of design
- Definition of research (not only the common primary, secondary & tertiary research, but also observational research)
- Different levels of visual messages
- Context (important to consider while designing)
- Purpose of critiques (attitude of giving and receiving)
I love doing the class exercise and activities, I feel like this course is experiencing and exploring more than just simply telling conceptual ideas, which makes this course really fun and attractive.
Thank you!!

#artezfinals #ifonlywewere #grey #finalpresentation This is one of my last coloured themed performances in which I tried to visualize the search of equity throughout my state of becoming a artist educator in theatre. The search between being vulnerable and standing tall, humbleness and determinated, also pain and growth. All this to try to find the midway that leads to being oneself unapologetically. Special thanks to @artezdocenttheaterarnhem & All the beautiful people who made this search-presentation possible. Also @jentepoiesz & @jesperpouw & @lilmol2 & @neeltje.nel & @steven.nd & @_iamarens & @hannahvrijenhoek for your support📷: @jonathanmoody.nl (at ArtEZ University of the Arts) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cc7iEk3L7ry/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

And here are the last slides of our presentation. I just placed everything we did in there are doodled some kind of rainbow details in the back. And added a thank you slide with the same font as our logo. The presentation went well I think, except for a bit of a let down by Abid. He “finished” the Instagram maybe up to five minutes before we actually gave the presentation so I couldn’t actually put it in there and it was also pretty rubbish ngl; clearly rushed and thrown together he was also at home that day but didn’t join the class call either so we gave it ourselves and kinda just showed the insta quickly. Otherwise, everything else was fine, I think the class knew what kind of playful studio we wanted to make. We also showed the website separately since I couldn't add any video to the presentation. Oh also, these are all JPEGs because, like always, I didn’t have the programs to make a PDF. I tried online converters but they decreased the quality HORRIBLY so yeah I just had to manually slide through each picture, which is pretty much the same thing anyway right? This project was really fun, easily my favourite of all the group projects we’ve done this year.

Week 10 (22 - 26.03)
Summary!
Finally! Our project is over and I can frankly say that we had one of the best concepts and one of the best prototypes in our class. People had so much fun during our testing sessions and we got really good feedback from our colleagues and teachers.
I am really glad that we had a chance to simulate the design process this year. I learned a lot:
- that iterations are not only necessary, but encouraged,
- that designing is a complex process, not just a genius thought appearing in your mind,
- that asking people, research and user testing are mostly crucial, but sometimes can be misleading,
- that even a brick can be a prototype (according to “What do prototypes prototype?” by Houde and Hill),
- that you should trust your judgement and trust the process,
- that even if you don’t know what you are doing, you have to keep going and it will all be clear soon,
- that group work may be hard, but there is no chance to develop a good concept, nor a good product by working on our own,
- that I will meet a lot of different people, with whom I will have to work with and you always have to try to get along, because it is worth trying,
- that you don’t have to know everything and you must find your place in a design process and design group to get the best of your skills and experience.
This was a great experience and I am a little bit sad that it is over, but I am hoping that I will be a part of a design process not once and not twice in the future.
We decided to call our concept ‘Shake my leaves’ and this is the link to our final presentation.

For the final presentation I purchased a gimbal. I always wanted one so this project was a good excuse. This device makes every shot smooth and look professional. Really happy with it.
