Christ this is self indulgent and u can def skip if u dont wanna do this but
headcanons on older!ceo!Chris who ends up crushing on younger!alt!reader?... omg.. it would be like the worlds most unexpected pairing and he's just like obsessed with her because he definitely has always had a thing for alternative women 😵‍💫
she makes him feel young and alive lemme tell you...
( IT SHOULD BE ME DAMN IT )
Yeah hun, it should be you (or me, but whatever). Okay, so just to lower your expectations, I’m not that good at writing age gap stuff, or just people in completely different phases in their life, so please don’t go too hard on me. Anyway, I really like the thought of this, and of course I’ll deliver for my favorite requester <3
Tumblr media
He’s the CEO of some big tech company, which actually started with him just developing a small office app, which then exploded and expanded.
You meet at a conference, and your eyes immediately go for him, a little older than you usually would go for, but look at him! Not shameful at all, but you make your way there, asking about him and why he’s there. He’s enchanted by your energy and interest. You’re young, but still interested in all of this?
You’re an app reviewer, and just writes about the negative and positive aspects of new developed games, tools and designs. No wonder, but you’re quite the nerd. You and Chris get the conversation going, everything flowing graciously. That is, until a man walks up and whispers something in his ear and he excuses himself.
A bit defeated, you bite your lip. As if something was going to happen, right? He’s a real man, older, life planned and settled. You just got this job, and have been doing fine in your small apartment for a couple of years. Suddenly, the microphone turns on, and the conference starts. To your shock, this “Chris” is THE Christopher Hartley. You can’t divert your gaze from him, watching intently as he explains something you’re not paying attention to. His eyes meet yours, and a small smile creeps upon his lips.
After this, he gives you his number, so now all the cards are in your hands. After a couple of days, you finally decide to text him. Nothing much, just asking if he’s up for grabbing a coffee. Of course, he replies straight away!
You go on your coffee date, a bit of tension, but that’s gone as soon as you start talking. You guys literally talk for hours upon hours, about video games, movies, and a bunch of other stuff. Chris feels in his element again, especially considering he doesn’t have as many friends his age who would want to talk about this.
No wonder, he develops a major crush on you. Asking you out to dinner and cafe dates, a romantic undertone to absolutely everything. He starts getting nervous and fidgety all the time, hands often having a mind of themselves. For example, while leading you out, it rests on your lower back, or when helping you down, it grabs your hand in his. Small, gentle touches which makes both your stomachs flutter.
FInally, he invites you over, telling you that he’s got one of the games you’ve been talking about. You sit beside each other on the couch in his fine home. Not wearing his usual suit, but rather a set of comfier clothes.
Little does he know, you thought this invite was for something else. Hopes were getting up, core was getting heated. You were even wearing a matching set! Hot and bothered, occasionally rubbing your thighs together. Chris notices, basically spying on you from the side, watching intently and imagining freaky stuff. Oh, shit. He’s wearing sweatpants. Were you really doing all this, right next to him?
He pauses the game, and you’re so flustered you can’t come up with a response. Before you know it, his lips are on yours, slowly testing the waters. You don’t have time for taking this slow, so you press yourself against him, leaning over and straddling him. “Fucking hell” he mutters against your lips, hands starting to wander as he's been craving all this time.

🦋 Fluttering down to you, Blot presents you with the 2025 theme: Fae & Fables! 🍄
No matter how elegant or mischievous, this year's book and advent calendar will feature all types of Fae and Fae Creatures!
Our Interest Check and Mod apps are still open until the 15th, with contributor applications opening on the 16th.
Looking for a little more detail on what we're including in this year's theme? A write-up including examples can be found below! ✨ Interest Check: https://forms.gle/ypSzHRsvZXHEkHqQ6 ✨ Mod Apps: https://forms.gle/ed5FGtfs6pgKQPzBA
✨ Carrd: https://13daysadvent.carrd.co ✨ Info Doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1h9YD2xKgrHxxfNGmVtgHbV7F6xby9ywsu-PVqJJ83vU
For Fae and Fae-creatures we will be accepting any and all Fae creatures as long as they can be considered more Fae than something else (such as more so than being classified as a Yokai, Demon, Spirit, Cryptid, etc.). For example, a Kappa would be considered a Fae, while a Tengu would not, but something like a Kitsune is more debated and would likely only be considered depending on the pitch and how it frames it.
We will also be accepting Fae-related things, for example, things to repel Fae like rowan berries, salt, iron, bells, etc. Essentially, as long as it is related to the Fae we would love to include it!
Some ideas for Fae and Fae-creatures include but are not limited to: Fairies, Pixies, Elves, Gnomes, Changelings, Nymphs (and their many types), Redcaps, Goblins, Selkies, Dwarves, Sylphs, Sprites, Boffarts, Banshees, Salamanders, Undines, Cu-Sith, Kelpies, Unicorns, Tianlongs, etc.! Of course, this isn't all of them and we would love to hear about more obscure Fae or Fae from other cultures!
We hope this helps spark some ideas or gets the ideas flowing for this year's theme! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out. And remember to stay spooky, buddies!

lost in translation (ch 10)
a (non-exhaustive) list of differences or cultural references i noted down for the translation of chapter 10 while watching the chn and eng versions side-by-side. previously i did the same thing for chapter 9.
disclaimer: i am not fluent in chinese, so keep in mind that there will be mistakes. feel free to let me know if you have questions, concerns, or comments.
overall: not too much stood out to me. after looking back on my comments on ch 9, i guess there was less awkwardness in this chapter's translation since i didn't really make a notice things like clunky grammar or sentences. i feel like most of these examples are more like fun facts or nitpicking rather than things i really feel like i need to correct.
rhinoceros horn
心有灵犀一点通, or just 心有灵犀, is a well-known idiom that uses the rhinoceros horn as a metaphor. the idiom definition from the pleco dictionary app:
(idiom) hearts which beat in unison are linked; hearts linked as one, just as the proverbial rhinoceros communicates emotion telepathically through his single horn (idiom); fig. two hearts beat as one
so it can be used to describe people who are connected or very in sync. and here's the description of the rhino horn, also from a pleco definition:
magic horn (i.e. rhinoceros horn with its threadlike white core, mentioned in old texts as having a high sensibility)—heartbeat in unison 身无彩凤双飞翼, 心有灵犀一点通。(李商隐《无题》) Shēn wú cǎi fèng shuāngfēi yì, xīn yǒu língxī yīdiǎn tōng. For bodies no fluttering side by side of splendid phoenix wings, | Between hearts the one minute thread from root to tip of the magic horn. (The second line is often quoted as meaning a meeting of minds.)
the white threadlike core connecting each end of the horn is why it's used as a metaphor for connection; considering this imagery, having the horn hold the wick of a candle also makes perfect sense.
i know the story focused on the role of the rhinoceros horn in 异苑 "Bizarre Gardens", but i'm not familiar with the work so i won't try to add beyond the game's explanation :') i'm just noting the reference that i was aware of
10-1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
no issues with the translation, but there's a bit of wordplay in the chinese version. translated more literally, it would be something like "and once the round was over, the pawn [棋子] simply became something to be discarded [弃子】." the bolded words are near-homophones, both pronounced "qizi" with just a difference in tone.
10-3
the number four is seen as unlucky in chinese culture (and other east asian cultures) since its pronunciation sounds like the word for "death". by extension, the number 14 is also unlucky, which is why prankster started the "ghost" appearances on the 14th floor of the building.
general note on translation; a lot of times in the narration, short descriptors are lost in the process of chn -> eng, probably since the full translation would make the sentence a bit unwieldy. usually it's not super important or the the meaning that it carries is made redundant through other context. for example, in 10-3, when they're discussing the culprit of the mischief in the office:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this contains the phrase "artem, who [the culprit] hates". this could be considered redundant through context (because why else would someone be targeting artem in this way?) but in eng, they don't specify this as it does in the original text.
another example in 10-5 when they confront the fortuneteller:
Tumblr media
there were a few adverbs dropped from the translation in this section. i picked this one since it had the most change; in chn, she casually glances over it, but in eng, she "inspects" it which sounds much more thorough.
10-13
Tumblr media
陆景和一改刚才冷峻严肃的模样,直接不顾形象地斜坐在会议室的长桌上。 Marius changes from his cold demeanor from earlier, and he sits down at the long table in the conference room with no regard for his image.
i... feel like the meaning got flipped to its opposite meaning and it's so puzzling that i'm still wondering if i'm just interpreting it wrong?? hence my typing out the chn text too, so other people can check it as well. i even tried a few different machine translations but this is still my conclusion. anyway, if my analyses so far are correct, this would be the second time that marius's personality becomes a bit harsher after the eng translation (it happened before in ch 9).
10-21
Tumblr media
If it weren't for the fact that the copy [of the report] was still there and that it was something I had only mentioned to Artem, I would have thought that he had long since known what I was planning to do next.
also a sentence flipped to basically the opposite meaning, to the point that i doubt myself, but i think this time it's because the sentence is a bit long with a lot of confusing negatives
10-26
When visiting Brigid Gries:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You: Yeah, gege's right! Don't worry, you'll be fine! // [Brigid's writing:] "Thank you, shushu and jiejie" // Without stopping to tease that "shushu", you and Artem exchange a glance.
this is another situation with ways of addressing people in chinese; please check my comments on the scene in chapter 9-14 if you want an explanation of the terms.
rip rosa. you tried xD but looks like artem can't escape the shushu/uncle allegations 😔 and Brigid even called rosa "older sister" right in front of them both... ice cold.
also this time, jerome is just himself shushu
Tumblr media
now switching scenes to vyn:
Tumblr media
on second thought this might be too trivial, but whatever, we're already here and i have the screenshot and i'm a vyn blog. basically in chinese, vyn "looks up at Matthew Richter with a smile that's not quite a smile." that's pretty much the most literal definition of the phrase, and since it's vyn we can probably already assume that the smile wouldn't be a simple happy one, but yeah. now the last one!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have decided that I want to become a hero. No, that's not right. It's not that I want to…
revised version leads more naturally into his next sentence as he explains himself. this is actually a nice transition since i'm going to mention this scene again in another post about ch 10, so stay tuned!! and thanks for reading, let me know what thoughts you had about this or the chapter ^^

Navigating the Complex World of Mobile App Development
In today’s tech-driven world, mobile apps have become a cornerstone of how we connect, work, and play. Whether you’re launching a startup or enhancing an established business, building a mobile app can be a game-changing move. One of the most important decisions you’ll face is choosing the right technology stack. The tech stack you pick will directly influence your app’s performance, scalability, and overall user experience.
What Exactly Is a Tech Stack?
A tech stack is essentially the set of tools, programming languages, and frameworks you use to build your app. For mobile apps, the stack typically consists of three main components:
Front-End: This is what users see and interact with — the app’s interface.
Back-End: This is the engine under the hood — handling data storage, processing, and integrations.
Platform: The operating system your app is built for, like iOS, Android, or both.
Key Considerations When Picking a Tech Stack
Let’s dive into the options and what you should think about when deciding which tools to use.
Platform Options
Native Development
Languages:
iOS: Swift or Objective-C
Android: Kotlin or Java
Pros:
Best-in-class performance.
Full access to device features like cameras, sensors, and GPS.
Cons:
Higher costs.
Longer development time if building for both iOS and Android.
2. Cross-Platform Development
Frameworks:
React Native (JavaScript and React)
Flutter (Dart)
Xamarin (C#)
Pros:
Faster development.
Reusable code for both iOS and Android.
Generally lower costs.
Cons:
Slightly lower performance compared to native apps.
Limited access to some advanced native features.
3. Hybrid Development
Tools:
Ionic (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
PhoneGap/Cordova (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
Pros:
Easy to learn and work with if you’re familiar with web development.
Leverages standard web technologies.
Cons:
Performance is not as strong as native or well-optimized cross-platform apps.
User experience can feel less “native.”
How to Make the Best Choice for Your App
Your decision will depend on several factors. Here are some key points to consider:
App Complexity:
For simple apps, cross-platform frameworks like React Native or Flutter are great choices.
For feature-heavy or complex apps, native development might be the way to go.
Time to Market:
If you’re on a tight schedule, cross-platform tools can speed up the process.
Budget:
Native development can be pricey since you’ll likely need separate teams for iOS and Android.
Cross-platform and hybrid options are usually more cost-effective.
Performance Needs:
Native apps deliver the best performance, but modern cross-platform frameworks have come a long way and can handle most needs efficiently.
Team Expertise:
Leverage the skills your team already has. If they’re experienced in JavaScript, for example, React Native might be a natural fit.
Final Thoughts
Choosing the right tech stack is a pivotal step in mobile app development. It’s about finding the perfect balance between your project’s requirements, your budget, and your team’s expertise. By weighing factors like app complexity, performance, and cost, you can make a well-informed choice that sets your app up for success. Remember, a solid tech stack is the foundation of a scalable, user-friendly, and high-quality app.

✨ writing interview tag game!!! ✨
Thank you @nerdallwritey for tagging me in this, yay!! I love talking about writing lol. Mind you, I'm not a fic writer, but I DO have an MFA in Creative Writing, and I did JUST start writing my first novel after BG3 came into my life & basically jump-started my healing journey. It is in fact a literary fiction vampire novel, ahem ahem. Here we go!
When did you start writing?
I learned how to write when I was seven just like most people I guess, and started with little poems or stories as I had always loved reading and wanted to imitate what the writers I loved were doing. That is still good advice to anyone who wants to become a writer- to start by imitating (not copying!) the style of those who you enjoy reading. Whenever I wrote something for a school assignment my teachers would compliment them, and child me definitely needed the encouragement lol. So I started very young, and the passion for writing never went away.
Are there different themes or genres that you enjoy reading than what you write?
Big YES. I read the themes and genres I write about as well, but I also enjoy reading differently because I think it improves my writing. Even if it didn't though, I truly enjoy reading different genres. For example, I don't write romance but I do enjoy reading it.
Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?
I don't know if I want to be compared to them necessarily, but I do have lots of writers that inspire me: Toni Morrison, Harper Lee, Flannery O'Connor, and Gillian Flynn are some I have off the top of my head.
Can you tell me a bit about your writing space?
I live in a very small studio apartment with my boyfriend (we even call it a hamster wheel lol) so I don't really have a space per se, but I do like doing a few things to get in the writing mood. A nice candle, some nice music. I have playlists for every different writing idea that I work on whether it be a short story or something else. My biggest dream is something I wrote to get adapted into a movie or a TV show so I tend to imagine scenes and pick out songs for those so-called scenes. Place doesn't really matter for me, in the sense of where I write- as long as I have a strong idea and some music to back it up.
What's your most effective way to muster up a muse?
More professional writers don't really believe in inspiration, they believe in sitting down and getting to work, but I'm not one of them unfortunately lol. Writing without the strike of inspiration is difficult for me, and forcing that inspiration even more so. However, it can strike anytime, anywhere. My notes app is FILLED to the brim with one-liners that came to me at 3 AM.
are there any recurring themes in your writing? do they surprise you?
YES, and they don't really surprise me because they are semi-intentional. I like working with the struggles of minority groups (the LGBTQIA+ community specifically), difficult relationship dynamics especially when it comes to dysfunctional mothers and daughters, and metaphors for love (vampirism is probably the biggest one). I also write a lot about trauma.
what is your reason for writing?
Sappy answer incoming! I had a very difficult childhood (I have CPTSD thanks to it yay me) and my only escape was reading, reading and reading. Once I realized I needed to start dreaming about a future career I immediately decided I wanted to become a writer, because the words of the writers I love literally saved my life, and I want to be able to do that for other people.
Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?
Any feedback or piece of constructive criticism is more than helpful. Just knowing someone read something I wrote, spent time on it and engaged with it makes my heart flutter.
how do you want to be thought about by your readers?
As someone relatable, above all. Or someone who wants to help.
what do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?
I'm pretty good at approaching difficult subject matter in a way what one of my professors called "cool to the touch". I don't like sentimentality and I'm usually pretty good at avoiding it in my writing. I write about difficult, borderline dark themes with flawed characters and I think that requires a particular way of writing to get right. I'd like to think that I'm pretty good at that!
how do you feel about your own writing?
I don't want to sound like I'm bragging or anything, but I believe that I'm a good writer. I've never had another dream in my life than to become a writer, it has always been everything to me, so it was never just a hobby- it's all consuming lol. And I like it that way!
when you write, are you influenced by what others might enjoy reading, or do you write purely for yourself, or a mix of both?
I guess I'd say it's more for myself- I of course want people to enjoy my writing but I won't change the way I write just for that reason. I write so that people will read my stuff, but the writing itself is never too influenced by trends or anything like that. On top of that, I know that my stuff can be difficult to read, and I tend to enjoy that part of my writing.
I don't really have anyone to tag, so anyone who sees this and wants to join in is more than welcome!

Contract Hiring Mobile App Developers in 2024-25
In this digitally dependent world, one of the fastest-growing technologies is the introduction of mobile apps for brands. Businesses utilize apps to drive creation, quick access to information, customer communication, and engagement with the brand.
The growth rate of mobile-based applications is expected to be 14.3% from the year 2024 to 2030 – Grand View Research
This makes mobile app developers one of the most in-demand skills in the market. For a successful project, the presence of skilled professionals is essential and businesses are also inclined to hire app developers remotely. Read the complete guide and let’s reveal how contract hiring mobile app developers is beneficial for businesses.
Why is Contract Hiring Beneficial?
When to Hire Mobile App Developers on Contract and Not on Employment?
Identifying the Technology & Scope of Work for the Mobile App Project
Sources of Contract Hiring
Interviewing and Screening Candidates
Ideal Terms & Clauses for Contract Hiring
Setting up effective Remote Communication and Collaboration
Conclusion
Why is Contract Hiring Beneficial?
Contract work also commonly known as the gig economy is highly popular in the market. Businesses can easily fill the temporary skill gap in the company by indulging with contract workers on project to project basis.
However, the key aspect is that businesses should know when to opt. to hire remote app developers on a contract basis.
When to Hire Mobile App Developers on Contract and Not on Employment?
Project & Talent wise need only
If your project needs short-term assistance from a developer it’s best to hire contractors. And, if the requirements increase, you can scale up the work with the hired professional.
Cost Considerations
Organizations easily save money and resources by opting for contract developers instead of permanent employees. If you’ve tight budgets and short-term requirements, this would be the best option.
Requirement of a Specialized Skill
Contract developers are often specialized in one specific skill like React Native or Swift. When the project is dependent on one skill that you do not have in-house, then you can hire a professional from a pool of Talents who best fits your requirements.
Identifying the Technology & Scope of Work for the Mobile App Project
Before you start hiring mobile app developers, it’s critical to understand the scope of the app and project requirements in detail.
Understand the Problem the App solves and for whom
Perform market research to identify the need for an app among your target audience. Plan how the app is going to benefit the users and what is a list of problems that need to be solved via developing the app. The classic example could be the problem of consumer interaction. With the app’s introduction, a brand can promote more engagement and interaction with the target audience.
Understand the project requirements and related core features
Discuss with decision-makers what features the app must have for the users (the core feature and the differentiable features). Decide on the platforms the App will support (android, iOS, or both). You must also finalize project details beforehand like deliverables and deadlines.
Choose the right Technology Stack
Selecting the right technology stack sets the correct foundation for the app. Consider the purpose of the app while keeping the target audience in mind and select either a native or cross-platform stack.
1. Native Mobile App Development ensures optimal performance and ‘platform-specific’ capabilities.
iOS: Swift or Objective-C for programming, Xcode for development, UIKit for interface design.
Android: Kotlin or Java for programming, Android Studio for development, Android SDK for interface design.
2. Cross-Platform Mobile App Development ensures quick deployments, reusability of codes, and coverage of both platforms (Android & iOS).
React Native, Flutter, or Xamarin Frameworks offer the ability to write code once and deploy it across multiple platforms.
3. Other Tools, Libraries, and Databases to be identified might include Android Studio, Xcode, Firebase, Restful, SQLite, Room DB, SQL, MongoDB, Redux, etc.
Outline the Scope of Work & Document in detail
A well-defined scope of work sets the wheels in motion for an app development project. The clear SOW acts as a roadmap for the developer and client and reduces any chances of misunderstanding in the process.
Also well document the Team requirements, their roles & responsibilities, features & functionalities, tasks & deliverables, milestones & deadlines, expectations for UI/UX designs, testing guidelines, deployment & maintenance guidelines, etc.
Sources of Contract Hiring
Here are a bunch of options that one can select from to hire mobile app developers in 2024.
Leveraging Specialized Platforms,
There are freelance platforms available in the market like Upwork, and Fiverr, that have professional freelancers who can provide you with one-time developer services.
IT Agencies (B2B contract Hiring)
Consider hiring IT agencies like Sprybit that have a pool of talent who are not only pre-screened but also reliable for the project.
Networks
Ask in your Network, post on Facebook – LinkedIN – Reddit groups, reach out to Industry people, and ask for references.
Interviewing and Screening Candidates
Following a pre-decided screening process is essential to finding the right talent for your organization.
Review Past Work/Portfolio
Make sure to review the candidate’s portfolio related to the mobile development projects. Examine the projects that require similar skill sets as compared to your project and judge their proficiency. You can also inquire about those projects and codes to understand their level of knowledge.
Consider requesting some sample codes. The GutHub links can act as an excellent proof of skills. This step is necessary to make a calculated decision.
Screening of Technical Skill
Shortlisted candidates must be proficient in technical skills according to the project requirements. Hiring managers must conduct the right assessment that ensures the presence of skill expertise.
These assessments must be practical and should involve coding for varied purposes. With this, you can understand data structures and algorithm knowledge in the candidate.
Identify other important factors
Apart from technical skills, other non-technical factors are essential to be considered during the hiring process. Check the candidate’s communication skills to ensure they will be able to communicate their ideas and plans with other team members. Candidates must also possess problem-solving skills to navigate technical errors in codes if required.
There are multiple design principles for mobile apps to enhance user experience. Check if the app developer is aware of such technicalities to select the best possible resource for your project.
Ideal Terms & Clauses for Contract Hiring
Whether you are a newbie or an experienced professional; while contract hiring mobile app developers; the ideal terms to keep your data, time, money & idea safe remain an unmissable necessity.
Hiring from a Freelance Portal does check many boxes with their well-established policies and processes; which might be good but not always foolproof. Hiring freelancers directly or from IT Agencies engages us in co-building Terms & Conditions on mutual consensus or are pre-defined with our experience as a Vendor Compliance Policy. But, all-in-all, making sure that every safety measure for our Project is taken care of remains our sole responsibility.
Payment Terms
Unlike full-time employees, one can’t pay to contract professionals every month. Select among a wide range of options like hourly-rate, and project-basis. Transparency from the very beginning will help smooth project completion.
IP rights
Before starting the collaboration, clarity on IP i.e. intellectual property is essential. As in who is the owner of code, design, app interface, etc should be agreed on to avoid disputes in the future.
Confidential & Non-disclosure agreements
Once you allot work to these contract workers, you will be sharing confidential details of the company. Make an advance agreement and ask them to sign it before commencing the work.
Project Timeline & Quality Assurance Standards
Maintain the quality of the project by deciding in prior about project deadlines, submissions, and code quality in terms of programming languages.
Termination clause
State a prescribed reason for when can either of the parties end the agreement. This brings clarity to the table regarding moral, ethical and professional expectations your Organization has.
Dispute Resolution
In rare cases, the client and candidate might go into a dispute that needs to be solved for the project’s betterment. Laying out steps to clear disputes and solve them will act as guidance in case it’s required.
Indemnity & Liability
It is important to outline the obligations & responsibilities of each party during any case of losses, damages and/or legal claims arising during the course of the project.
Governing Law & Governing Body
Involving government laws, rights, and bodies can help in resolving disputes and save the project’s future. This way both parties can come to the same conclusion under legal principles.
Setting up effective Remote Communication and Collaboration
Remote work culture creates room for misunderstanding and unclear targets. However, the issue can be tackled if there’s a pre-decided communication system planned. From work allotment to final project submission, an effective communication plan benefits all the parties involved in the project.
These can be achieved by establishing communication, collaboration & project management tools for your Project:
Inbuilt communication channels of Freelance Platforms
Slack
Microsoft Teams
Zoom
Google Meet
Jira
Asana
Trello
Basecamp
Google Workspace
Dropbox
Microsoft 365
Notion
Conclusion
Organizations’ idea to hire mobile app developers on Contract is spreading like a forest fire. Businesses now have access to partner freelancers and contract workers for short periods with ideal skills, and reliable talent.
Before starting your journey on the same path, make sure to remain transparent and pre-decide the essential factors like payment, timelines, IP & communication; and finally proceed to give life to your mobile app.

Meeting A Magical Man Pt. 23
Part 1: Link Prev: Link Next: Link
----------
Henrik was at his desk in his office, sipping at his mug of coffee as he signed off on some paperwork. It was a more calm evening for him, which was nice. Maybe he’d head home early, take the last few files and get them done there.
Marvin had texted earlier that he and Chase were busy and likely couldn’t go clothes shopping for Robbie. Henrik decided to give Robbie permission to order some clothing online from the store and have it delivered to the house. He also looked over the list to see what Robbie showed interest in and noted that it seemed to be a lot of science-based clothing but with, as Chase would call it, a nerdy twist. One example was a periodic table, but instead of elements, it was characters from Super Mario.
“Henrik?” A soft voice and a knock at his door made Henrik look up.
“Hello, Edward.” Henrik greeted with a smile, feeling his chest going warm at having the other doctor in the room with him.
“I can’t remember the last time the place was this chill.” Edward chuckled, going over to Henrik’s desk and sitting on the corner of it.
“It is very nice. I might even call it an early evening.” Henrik leaned back in his seat, the warmth turning into a flutter with how close Edward was. He did this every time he came into Henrik’s office. It was to the point Henrik left that spot on the desk empty and clean just for Edward to sit on.
“You should. I plan on doing the same.” Edward fixed Henrik’s hair, running his hand through it to even out the fluff. “I’m guessing that means you don’t have plans then?”
“No-” Henrik’s voice came out as a squeak, and he quickly cleared his throat, lowering his voice. “No.”
“Any thoughts about dinner?” Edward continued messing with Henrik’s hair, having already fixed it, but Henrik was basically melting at the touch.
“Not really.”
“Maybe we could get dinner together?”
“Y-Yeah. Sure.”
“Hen!” Chase barged into the room. “Well, shit.” He cursed when he realized what he had interrupted.
“I thought you and Marvin were out?” Henrik stood up.
“We were and then some…” Chase looked at Edward. “Some…stuff happened, and now I can’t get a hold of Marvin.”
“Some stuff? Is he okay?” Henrik asked.
“I mean, He didn’t seem hurt the last time I saw him.”
“What happened when you last saw him? Was there something you did?”
“I mean…I kissed someone to distract them.”
“I think I should step out.” Edward got off of the desk. “Let me know if you need anything.”
“If all is well I would…um…I would still like to get dinner.” Henrik tried to sound somewhat confident, but there was a hint of a blush on his face.
“Sure. Just let me know.” Edward smiled and nodded at Chase before leaving the office and closing the door behind him.
“Are you two going on a-”
“Who did you kiss? I am assuming Marvin must have seen it.” Henrik quickly stopped Chase from asking his question.
“It was Actor.” Chase watched as Henrik pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Why in the world did you kiss Actor?”
“He was going to see Marvin sneaking out of his place.”
“You two were at his home!?”
“Technically, it was only one of his places.”
“Chase!”
“Yell at me about this later. Can you call and see if he’s just ignoring me?” Chase had already gone to Marvin’s place, and he wasn’t there.
“When you call, does it go straight to voicemail? Or does it ring?” Henrik asked as he took out his phone and was about to open an app when he started getting a call from Robbie.
“It rings.” Chase rubbed at his arm as he waited.
“That is what I thought.” Henrik sighed. “Head home. I have him taken care of.”
“But-”
“Just go home. Rest. I promise I will call you later and fill you in.” Henrik cut Chase off and answered the call. “Hello?” He turned a bit to show Chase the conversation was done.
“Fine.” Chase sighed and also left the office.
He went to his car, turned it on, and drove. The goal was to go home, but instead, he was pulling up in front of Marivn’s.
There were a few minutes of hesitation before Chase sighed and finally turned his car off. He got out and rubbed his hands together anxiously, still feeling some of the grease on them. Eventually, he went into the house, knowing he wouldn’t get dinged by the security system since Marvin had it set up to recognize him, but he turned it off to be safe. The last thing Marvin needed was to think someone broke in.
He couldn’t just go home and do nothing. Actor knew someone was at his place, maybe he doesn’t know it was Marvin, but if that Mike guy saw him enough to give a description, it wouldn’t be hard to pick Marvin out of a crowd.
Chase first washed his hands, not wanting to leave a mess behind, and then went to the table. Seeing the folder still there and he flipped it open.
This was a bad idea.
He went through the pages and didn’t see any mentions of someone named ‘Mike’. Meaning Dark likely didn’t know who he was at all, or if he did, he never put it down. Chase flipped back to the first page, seeing a phone number listed at the top. He chewed his lip before dialing and number.
This was a very bad idea.
“Who is this?” Dark’s voice asked.
“It’s…It’s Chase.”
“Chase? May I ask how or why you’re calling?”
“I called the number at the top of this paperwork. I have some…I have some information about Actor.” Chase waited for a response, but he got empty air. “Dark? Are you still there?”
“I’m here.” Dark’s voice suddenly being behind Chase got him to yelp in shock, quickly turning around.
“Holy shit, give a man a warning.” Chase placed a hand over his chest.
“You’re coming with me.” Dark put his own hands on Chase’s shoulders and sent himself and Chase away.

if you have any good resources for learning Mexican-Spanish dialect PLEASE share!! im mixed race and would be far more interested in learning spanish if it was the kind my dad grew up speaking yknow?
Oh hi-! I'll be real I'm not super fluent in Spanish- I wasn't taught it growing up and haven't started on any sort of like... actual education yet- nor do I have any like official resources I'm afraid... BUT I do have some advice!!!!!!!!
When my mother was learning English she told me that she listened to a lot of English music and it helped her a lot! I do a similar thing, I'll watch shows in Spanish, Spanish videos online, read Spanish text, or listen to music in Spanish and follow along using with English translations! It can be really intimidating at first, but I ended up picking up a lot of Spanish overtime this way! You hear or see certain words repeated enough and the meanings stick more and more!
Like for example recently I found a Spanish voice over of a show called The Haunting Hour that I used to watch when I was younger, and so since I already knew the general plot of the episodes I was able to follow along decently well even without subtitles! (Though I wouldn't start with that- they talk SUPER fast lol)
I also try to focus on the way things Sound when they are said and try to "parrot" them- I'll listen to words over and over until I can vocally copy the pronunciation. Even though I'm not completely fluent I've had people compliment my pronunciations saying they wouldn't have guessed that I'm not.
For Mexican dialects specifically look into Mexican shows or dubs, Mexican singers, works made by Mexicans, or Mexican creators online! I will say though to keep in mind Mexico is a big place and the Spanish spoken there has a LOT of different dialects!
This is kind of a "throwing yourself in the deep end" sort of technique so before doing that I'd get familiar with basic Spanish words and grammar- things like basic nouns, verbs, sentence structure- those sorts of things. Learning things like think, see, why, how, have, feel etc. help so much when you are just starting out.
Another really helpful tip is: speak to Spanish speakers!!! My mother is Honduran and she has been such a big help as she is the only fluent Spanish speaker in my immediate family! While we clash on our... opinions lol... regarding Mexican Spanish she's helped me understand it too since she's heard a lot of it from my dad's family. She's almost always the first person I turn to regarding any questions I have with Spanish.
I also have friends online who are fluent in Spanish too and they've also been great help! There's been many times where I've misused or misunderstood a phrase and they've been there to correct me LOL
Also don't feel afraid to look up things like unfamiliar words or phrases- that can be really helpful for stuff that can't be accurately translated into English! This won't be just the case with slang or really specific words either- a word translated a certain way in one context could be translated differently in another even something seemingly simple like "bueno" and it's conjugations.
I've tried language learning apps and stuff before and while I'm sure they work well for some people and would recommend trying some out I've just never fully gelled with those kind of tools. Though I will say the website Spanishdict.com has been a consistently big help for me! ... and to be fair I'm really bad at forming habits and sticking to those apps lol
And the biggest piece of advice I can give: Don't feel discouraged!!!
Learning a language is tough- but it's never too late to learn! I only started trying to seriously learn more Spanish like 3 years ago and every now and then I have to remind myself that I've come a long way since then!
... Also practice rolling your r's- it's the tip of the tongue to the roof of the mouth- fast fluttering motion- it'll be intimidating at first but keep practicing and you'll get it- and once you get it just know it's fine if it doesn't sound 'nautral' at first- the longer you do it the easier it becomes to roll r's without it sounding forced.
I hope that helps anon!!!!!!!!

As for, "replicating the patterns" part, here is a concrete example of it in action:
Tumblr media
For context:
All of "MAUI", "React Native" and "Flutter" are three entirely different GUI frameworks, that is, tools which you can use to create graphical applications for smartphones. In particular, the entire user interface in Discord mobile app is made using React Native.
React Native exists since around 2015
Flutter exists since around 2017, and uses the Dart language, which is not very commonly used, and in fact, the only people I know that use Dart, they use it because they want to use Flutter.
MAUI exists since around 2021, and uses the C# language. 2021 happens to be very close to the cutoff date of what ChatGPT "known" around the time this query was done.
MAUI also happens to be way less popular than both React Native and Flutter
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
End result: ChatGPT confidently says that MAUI uses Dart language because it if it's not React Native then it clearly must be Flutter.
Bottom line: Do not use ChatGPT as an expert system. Companies that do that actually feed GPT with information beforehand. You don't.

How to Hire a Mobile App Development Company in 2025
Having a killer app idea is exciting. But turning that idea into a polished, high-performing product? That’s where things get tricky.
If you’re planning to build an app that users will love and that drives real business results one decision matters more than any other: which mobile app development company you hire.
The wrong choice can mean blown budgets, delayed launches, poor UX, and apps that collect dust. The right choice can launch your product to market faster, with better features, higher user engagement, and long-term value.
This guide will show you exactly how to hire the right mobile app development company step by step.
Why Hiring the Right Mobile App Development Company Matters
You’re not just buying code. You’re buying:
Deep expertise across iOS, Android, and cross-platform
UX and UI that win and retain users
Scalable architecture
Security and compliance
Speed to market
Long-term support and updates
A good app can transform your business. A bad app can harm your brand. Choose wisely.
1. Know Your App Goals Before You Start Searching
Before you reach out to any developers, get clear on:
What does your app need to do?
Who is your target audience?
What platforms will you launch on iOS, Android, or both?
What key features do you need? (Think payments, GPS, push notifications, AI)
What’s your budget?
When do you want to launch?
This will help you filter out companies that don’t align with your goals and have smarter conversations with the ones that do.
2. Where to Find Great Mobile App Development Companies
Not all agencies are created equal. To find the best:
Search trusted directories (Clutch, GoodFirms)
Ask your network and business contacts
Look at LinkedIn case studies
Explore app store credits to see which companies built top-rated apps
Pro tip: Don’t just Google “top mobile app development company” those lists are often paid placements. Always check portfolios and verified reviews.
3. How to Vet and Compare Companies
When you’ve got your shortlist, here’s how to vet them:
Portfolio: Have they built apps in your industry?
Client reviews: What do past clients say?
Team: Will you work with senior developers or juniors?
Tech stack: Are they experienced with what you need (Flutter, React Native, Kotlin, Swift)?
Process: Do they use Agile or Scrum for faster, iterative releases?
Communication: Are they responsive and clear?
Post-launch: Do they offer maintenance and updates?
4. Ask These Smart Questions Before You Hire
Don’t hire until you’ve asked:
Can I see live apps you’ve built?
What’s your project timeline and process?
Who will be on my team?
How do you manage quality assurance and testing?
How do you handle app security and data privacy?
Will I own the IP of the app?
What is your approach to app updates post-launch?
A top mobile app development company should be able to answer these questions clearly and confidently.
For example, at Hudasoft, we provide full transparency on every project. You’ll see real apps we’ve delivered, get a clear timeline, work with senior designers and developers, and have complete clarity on IP ownership, security standards, and post-launch support. From day one, you’ll know exactly how your app is being built and how we’ll support it long after launch.
5. Beware of Common Mistakes
Here’s how companies get burned when hiring a mobile app development company:
Choosing the cheapest option, you get what you pay for
Not checking actual live apps
Rushing the hiring process
Failing to define clear project requirements
Overlooking post-launch maintenance
6. How Much Does It Cost to Hire a Mobile App Development Company?
Here’s a ballpark:
Simple MVP: $15,000–$30,000
Mid-level app: $40,000–$80,000
Complex app or enterprise solution: $100,000+
Costs vary depending on:
Features and integrations
Platforms (iOS, Android, cross-platform)
Custom design and animations
API and backend complexity
A good development partner will give you a detailed, transparent quote after understanding your scope.
7. The Hiring Process: From First Call to Kickoff
Here’s what your hiring process should look like:
Define your goals and budget
Build a shortlist of companies
Have discovery calls
Review proposals and timelines
Check references and client reviews
Finalize contracts, define scope, deliverables, timelines, and payment terms
Start with a kickoff workshop to align the team
Final Word: Build Smarter Hire the Right Mobile App Development Company
Hiring the right mobile app development company can mean the difference between a product that wins or one that flops.
The best companies will bring more than code. They’ll bring experience, business insight, creative thinking, and technical excellence, guiding you from concept to launch and beyond.
If you want your app to hit the market faster, perform better, and delight users, choose your partner carefully. Ask the right questions. Look for proven expertise. And think long-term.
Your future app (and your business) will thank you.

How Can Companies Optimize ROI by Converting Android Apps to iOS (or Vice Versa)?
Optimize ROI by Converting Android Apps to iOS
Tumblr media
Introduction
In today’s mobile-first landscape, companies aiming to maximize their mobile app ROI must consider platform expansion. With Android dominating in user volume and iOS leading in revenue generation, converting your app from Android to iOS (or vice versa) can be a strategic move to reach a broader audience and boost profitability. This blog explores how app conversion can be a growth catalyst, helping businesses lower acquisition costs and increase user engagement across platforms.
Understanding Android to iOS App Conversion (or Vice Versa)
App conversion refers to the process of adapting an existing mobile application to operate on a different platform. Whether moving from Android to iOS or the reverse, this process involves more than just copying code. It includes reworking the UI/UX, adapting to platform-specific APIs, and ensuring functional parity across devices. Successful app conversion demands expertise in both Android and iOS app development to maintain performance and user satisfaction.
Top Reasons to Convert Android Apps to iOS (or Vice Versa)
Reach a wider audience: Tap into new user segments by expanding your presence to another platform.
Increase revenue potential: iOS users typically have higher lifetime value, while Android's larger user base can fuel ad-driven revenue models.
Improve brand presence: Being available on both platforms builds credibility and trust with users.
Maximize previous investments: Reusing assets and backend systems speeds up time-to-market and reduces development costs.
How App Conversion Improves ROI
Tumblr media
Converting your app allows you to scale without starting from scratch, which significantly lowers development costs. The ability to reach more users boosts installs, engagement, and revenue. Moreover, a cross-platform presence strengthens brand authority and opens doors to new monetization opportunities, like in-app purchases or subscriptions, ultimately maximizing return on investment.
Key Challenges in Mobile App Platform Conversion
UI/UX differences: iOS and Android have distinct design languages (Material vs. Human Interface Guidelines).
Technical variations: Differences in programming languages (Java/Kotlin for Android vs. Swift/Objective-C for iOS).
Third-party integration compatibility: Not all libraries and SDKs work identically across platforms.
Testing requirements: Each platform has its own device ecosystem and app store policies.
Steps to Successfully Convert Your Mobile App
Audit existing app code and features
Choose the right development approach (native or cross-platform)
Redesign UI/UX to fit the new platform standards
Adapt backend APIs and third-party services
Test extensively across devices and OS versions
Deploy to the relevant app store with optimized listings
Tools & Technologies for App Conversion
Flutter: Ideal for creating a single codebase for both platforms
Kotlin Multiplatform: Enables code sharing between Android and iOS
React Native: Popular framework for cross-platform mobile development
Xamarin: Microsoft-backed tool for .NET-based apps
Choosing the right tech stack depends on performance needs, UI complexity, and existing code structure.
Cost Estimation & ROI Forecasting
Tumblr media
App conversion is typically more cost-effective than building a new app from scratch. Factors affecting cost include app complexity, UI redesign, and backend changes. Companies should calculate potential ROI by comparing conversion cost with projected increase in user acquisition, engagement, and revenue across the new platform.
Case Studies: App Conversion Success Stories
Example 1: A retail app that expanded from iOS to Android and saw a 40% increase in monthly active users
Example 2: A SaaS product that moved from Android to iOS, leading to a 30% boost in in-app purchases These examples showcase how strategic app conversion can result in measurable growth.
Tips to Maximize ROI After Converting Your App
Invest in App Store Optimization (ASO) for visibility
Launch targeted marketing campaigns on the new platform
Monitor analytics closely to track engagement and retention
Solicit user feedback to continuously refine the app experience
Conclusion
Converting your Android app to iOS or vice versa is not just a technical decision—it's a business strategy. When done right, it can significantly enhance user reach, reduce development overhead, and boost ROI. By partnering with an experienced app development company like CQLsys Technologies, you can ensure a smooth transition and unlock new growth opportunities across platforms.

The Rise of Flutter for Cross-Platform App and Web Development
In today’s digital-first landscape, businesses are constantly seeking innovative ways to reach customers across multiple platforms. Whether it’s Android, iOS, or the web, being available on all major channels is no longer optional—it’s essential. This is where Flutter, Google’s open-source UI toolkit, has emerged as a game-changer.
Tumblr media
Flutter allows developers to build stunning, high-performance applications from a single codebase, drastically reducing development time and costs. As adoption increases globally, many businesses are turning to Flutter app development in Sharjah and Dubai to deliver robust mobile and web solutions that offer both native performance and aesthetic flexibility.
In this blog, we explore why Flutter is rapidly becoming the go-to choice for cross-platform development, how businesses in the UAE are leveraging it, and what to consider when hiring a Flutter app development company in Dubai.
What is Flutter and Why is it Revolutionary?
Flutter is a UI software development kit (SDK) developed by Google. It enables developers to create natively compiled applications for mobile, web, and desktop using a single codebase.
Key Features of Flutter:
Single Codebase for All Platforms: Write once and deploy on Android, iOS, web, and desktop platforms.
Fast Development with Hot Reload: Developers can see code changes in real-time without restarting the app.
Expressive and Flexible UI: Custom widgets and layered architecture allow for high customization.
Native Performance: Compiles to ARM or JavaScript for high-speed execution.
Because of these advantages, businesses looking for efficiency and performance in one package are increasingly opting for Flutter app development in Dubai and Sharjah.
Why Flutter is a Perfect Fit for Businesses in the UAE
The UAE, particularly Dubai and Sharjah, is at the forefront of digital transformation in the Middle East. With strong government support for innovation and a rapidly growing tech-savvy population, businesses here are keen to adopt the latest technologies for competitive advantage.
Here’s why Flutter stands out:
1. Cost Efficiency Without Compromising Quality
With Flutter, you only need to develop and maintain one codebase instead of two separate ones for Android and iOS. This reduces development costs significantly—a critical factor for startups and SMEs in Sharjah and Dubai.
2. Faster Time to Market
Thanks to Flutter’s hot reload feature and rich library of pre-designed widgets, developers can deliver MVPs or full-fledged apps much faster. This speed is crucial in a highly competitive digital marketplace.
3. Flexible UI Design for Diverse Audiences
Dubai and Sharjah are melting pots of cultures and languages. Flutter’s customizable widgets make it easy to build localised, brand-specific user interfaces that appeal to varied audiences.
4. Powerful Web Capabilities
As web traffic continues to grow, Flutter’s web support ensures that you don’t have to rebuild your application for browsers. This makes Flutter web development in Dubai a smart investment for businesses looking to unify their app and web experiences.
Popular Use Cases for Flutter in Dubai and Sharjah
Businesses across industries are tapping into the power of Flutter. Here are just a few examples of how Flutter is being used in the UAE:
- E-commerce Apps
Seamless UI, dynamic content rendering, and multi-platform access make Flutter perfect for online retail.
- Healthcare Platforms
Flutter supports real-time updates, appointment booking systems, and data security features needed in health tech.
- Education & E-learning Apps
Flutter's responsive interface works well for learning management systems, video playback, and live chat integrations.
- Logistics & Delivery Services
With features like GPS tracking and real-time updates, Flutter helps streamline logistics operations efficiently.
By choosing Flutter app development in Sharjah, local businesses can develop tailor-made apps suited for UAE-specific market demands.
Advantages of Flutter for Web Development
Flutter’s web development capabilities have improved dramatically in recent years. As web and mobile experiences begin to merge, businesses in Dubai are leveraging Flutter web development to stay ahead.
Key Benefits:
Responsive Design: Flutter’s web support allows for seamless adaptation across desktops, tablets, and smartphones.
Single Stack Development: Manage both web and mobile apps with the same backend logic and development team.
Progressive Web App (PWA) Support: Flutter can be used to create PWAs that feel just like native apps.
For brands that already have a mobile presence, expanding to the web via Flutter ensures consistency and lowers development effort.
Choosing the Right Flutter App Development Company in Dubai
Given the growing demand for Flutter, many development companies are jumping on the bandwagon. However, finding the right partner is crucial for project success.
Here’s what to look for in a Flutter app development company in Dubai:
1. Proven Portfolio
Examine their previous Flutter projects. Look for diversity in industries and complexity in execution.
2. Skilled UI/UX Team
Flutter’s full potential is realized when coupled with a skilled design team that understands user behavior and aesthetics.
3. Expertise in Web & Mobile
Since Flutter supports both web and mobile platforms, your development partner should have deep expertise in both domains.
4. Agile Development Process
Agility ensures faster iteration and better product quality. Choose a company that follows Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
5. Post-Launch Support
Maintenance, updates, bug fixes, and future scaling are vital. Go with a company that offers long-term support.
Flutter vs. Native: Why Cross-Platform Wins for Most Businesses
