Okkk sooo Im just wondering if anyone has any ideas of food fantast lore. Id like to know your interpretations of itt. The fandom is kind of dead lmao but hopefully I find some who enjoy it too! Anyways how do you think summoning works. Like the master attendant just gathers exactly 150 soul embers and summons them? But like then what's the portal yk? Where is the portal located? That big circle thing that pops up when you summon food souls

More Hallownest foods
Fried Hopper legs and Chips: This is essentially the KFC of Hallownest. Recipe below:
First remove the legs of your hopper, taking care to remove the tough connective tissue at the base of each leg completely.
Once all of the legs have been removed gently crack the chitin but leave it on the meat. This will prevent a buildup of steam under the carapace while it's being fried.
Roll each leg in a breading(ground nuts can be used for grain intolerant bugs) and apply a health dose of salt.
Finally dunk each leg into boiling oil and cook for 2 minutes, the center of the meat should still be moist and slightly chewy.
Next make the chips: they can be made from Fallowroot tubers, but if you have them Waste-gourds are preferable because of their rich flavor and crispy texture when cooked.
Add a pinch of whatever spices you prefer.
Finally, cook them until both sides are crispy.
Gel-Salad: A dish traditonally used for dessert, it consists of a rich jelly filling(usually green or blue) and a mix of spun sugar, frostings, and pickled sugar-root. It's served in a glass bowl and made to resemble the blue lake with small lilypads made of frosting.
The size and complexity of this dish generally reflects the importance of the event it's served at. this is partially due to the cost of the ingredients.
A variation of this dish using hemolymph gelatin is often used for carnivorous bugs and makes for a better savory after meal snack.
Soul-Cider: A drink made by fermenting pale-vine berries in soul.
This drink is especially time intensive to make, and fermentation can take upwards of 30 years to be finished. Nonetheless this drink is one of the most widely produced in Hallownest and is a significant export of the kingdom as a whole.
The material the fermentation barrel is made of can drastically impact the taste, so all of the best breweries in Hallownest have been in competition to find the best material. Rumor has it that one of them even approached the white lady and asked her for a cask made from her growth.
Miner's pie: A lovely meat pie commonly made by the miners of the crystal peak, the main meat of this pie is glimback meat, and though the miners can't generally afford to be picky about what they each only the choicest cuts of glimback are tender enough to eat(specifically those directly under the shell). Special care has to be taken to remove any shards of crystal in the meat being cooked, especially because ingesting crystals is just asking for them to begin growing inside of you. A traditionally topping for Miners pie is diced Fling-weed and mashed Fallowroot.
These savory pies are generally large enough to serve 3-4 bugs and are sometimes served out of the shells of young Glimabacks which have been turned into bowls(a practice which has endangered the species)

Theory incoming. It's been awhile since I've watched freshman year, but in light of the wonderful lore dump we got, I have a new theory.
We now know that this plot has been in the works since freshman year with Porter and Jace working behind the scenes, waiting for the right moment to take down the school.
What we don't currently know is how long Porter has been in contact with Bobby Dawn. I'm wondering if Ragh stealing Kristen's holy book and throwing it into the corn was a part of this whole conspiracy.
Due to some new revelations, my theory is that they've all been after Kristen, Helio's known chosen one, this whole time. To use her power as a chosen one to kick off this whole thing.
We have this set of information found at Ruben's.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What if they've been needing a Helioic cleric this whole time? What if Kristen still counts here because her new goddess has a connection to Ankarna as her former wife?
What if there is no plot to rig the vote? What if they've wanted Kristen in charge this whole time?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
What if the K and subliminal messaging is to get people to vote for Kristen?
I think there's still more of this plot to unravel and I'm excited to see it unfold.

Things get dramatic, they get serious.
Glen uses up all his SP... Knowing very well this could kill him. He does it anyway, it's the only thing he can do. It's the only thing left to do.
He is at the thin line between life and death, between life and afterlife, his spirit, drained of it's energy... This could be the end.
He sees God..............................

Chia is more of my brand mascot / png-tuber than an actual character i'd put in anything, but in the vein of my Wick's End series, she DOES have a fantasy outfit!!

Seafoam Taiyaki
A classic festival dish from Ikseo, this beautiful treat resembles a traditional Taiyaki, but the filling is far from ordinary! A cascade of shimmering, pearlescent bubbles rises from its center, each reflecting light in a swirl of soft rainbows. These bubbles are ethereal and weightless, they seem ready to drift away in the softest breeze!
However, the true reward lies in the skewer that emerges from the bubbly display. Impaled on the thin stick is what appears at first to be a piece of candied fish skin, but closer inspection reveals it to be a tiny, fried mermaid!
Festival goers love catching these little creatures at the fish-catching game stalls, and Seafoam Taiyaki vendors are happy to prepare them for customers who do not have other uses for them.
Don’t be fooled by its playful presentation—this dish offers more than just a taste of the sea to those imbued by Pactbearer Magic...

Lore dump
...currently i am spiraling. For my lore i wanted to make dishes unique to it, as most of the people don't know what earth is, let alone the sol system. So people making things like Udon, Burgers, or literally any other dish makes no sense at all. So i began to make the dishes. But then i came across the first problem: What do i name it? That's easy for me to solve, i can just link the dishes to a faction and use the conlang i made for that faction to name the dish. but what about the ingredients? Now its more complicated.
what does each ingredient look like in its raw form? where is it found? what does it taste like? is it common or uncommon? can things that aren't supposed to be ingredients be used as them anyway? because we use tree bark as an ingredient. Tree bark: Cinnamon
well, okay. Now there is stuff like Star Gais, Sacrem, and Blaxkov. But mixing every ingredient wont work, as some of them clash in unexpected ways. Especally the spices. So what is the history on it? How did people find out exactly how to use this stuff? Im not talking "They spent time and researched it." No, that's lame. I want the entire ass history behind Anchalah. How in the divine hell did snake people figure out a bush that takes disguize as a literal ass rock makes roots going down hundreds of feet into the ground, to literally grow more "rocks"? Why would they do that? why would they eat it? I need every bit of information behind each ingredient as to how it was discovered.
But, what about the poisonous ingredients? For instance, here on earth we have a mushroom called Fly agaric, which is both Poisonous and Psychoactive. Well, guess what. We eat shit like peppers, which literally gives us the sensation that out mouth is on fire when we eat it. and we seek that sensation- Some species in singularity is going to wanna seek out ingredients that are poisonous to another.
Especially given the fact every species is different. The Hyperion isn't made completely up of humans after all. we have people who find sugar just as poisonous as arsenic is for humans. Well, given this, we can just make it so some ingredients are poisonous to others. Stuff like Elir is poisonous to most Mammalian species, but beneficial to almost every insectoid/fungoid species. Screw humans, its poisonous to them as well.
but what about the Lithoids?
OR THE MACHINES?????
machines are easy to solve. They simply need power. and if a machine is given the proper tech, it can eat food just like any person and convert it into more power. Or maybe analyze it to see its properties.
But what about the Lithoids? What would a species like the Bzadi eat? saying a lithoid only eats rocks is lame. We know they are made of rocks, but them eating rocks is as stupid as the fae is annoying. There has to be flavor, there has to be reason. I am talking rocks, minerals, metals, gems. But i am also talking more natural things like bones, chitin, keratin, or even plastic! Imagine a lithoid species that eats plastic! Although the stench of cooked plastic would be horrible to us, lithoids would either not smell it all-together, or smell it and find it amazing.
Okay, but now we get back to the whole "ores and rocks" thing from before. I need definition, i cant just say "oh, steve stevenstonon jr the XVII prime ate a rock for dinner", that is lame, that is boring. i need the specifics What rock did they eat? what are its properties? how was it discovered? why did lithoids decide to eat it? what to they cook it with? what temperatures are needed to melt it? What if a lithoid ate a strategic resource, like Carrium or Laronate? to them what do these things taste like? Does limestone taste like citrus? or do they find it spicy?
What kind of dishes can i make and produce with these metals and ores? What is the entire cooking process for these dishes??? We aren't even getting into the language root for the names of these dishes! for instance, the name "burger" came from Hamburg, Germany. After German immigrants made the "Hamburg Steak". i need as much information behind the things i am making as possible, even if no one will ever know about it a day in their life. if someone is eating "Çaaėn Koevar", what do each of those words literally mean? Why was "Çaaėn" used in it? is that a specific type of food, or a cooking style? if so, then would adding the word Çaaėn before the name of another dish like "Paruue" make it completely different? I mean, we do the same thing with our dishes all the time. Cause saying something like "Can i get chicken and pork?" will give you a much different dish than if you asked "Can i get chicken and pork dumplings". and then there is stuff like the Steakburger and shrimp fried rice... we use name combinations all the time to describe what these dishes are.
But most importantly, what meats are there? well, in the setting, i have already built a large catalogue of beasts. so why dont i just use the name of those beasts? Dungeon meshi type shit. I want dishes made with cuts of Recagra meat, pan fried with mesri or oeiia.
and this brings me to my next thing. people wont just cook in the same way from one culture to another. I mean, one species is literally made of fire. How do they cook? so now i need more cooking styles. Names for these cooking styles. Where did they originate from? who used it first and why? What was the first dish made with this cooking style? was the food good? so then maybe Çaaėn is another word for fried or sautéed? or an entirely different thing? What if a species cooks with radiation? or cold instead of heat?
The previous was a draft, and now that i have expanded on this a little bit more i would like to return to it. Previously i mentioned Recagra meat. Recagra meat would be hard to cook with, let alone gather.
The Recagra is a dangerous creature, effectively a massive flesh-tentacle meatball. If you get inflicted with its venom either through getting attacked by it, or touching its blood, you will become a Recagra over the course of one very painful year.
But lets say you manage to kill it. The meat needs to be prepared properly in order to prevent getting poisoned. Doing so requires multiple things:
The cut of meat must be cured and drained of all bodily fluids. Mainly being blood and/or venom.
The meat must be left to dry for about 3 days (180 hours, or about 7 and a half Terran days)
After drying, the meat must be marinated before cooking. Otherwise its just gross.
When cooking, it must be done in a very specific way as to cook out the rest of the venom in the meat that didnt come out during the first step.
Now you can see how much it takes to even get the meat to be edible, yes?
This makes it difficult to eat. But with this, it will probably become the Pufferfish or Wagyu of singularity due to the amount of effort it takes to properly cook.
We will be using the Çaaėn cooking method for this, which originates from the Kingdom of Brass, an empire comprised with entities of fire. This cooking method, due to the entities being made from fire, requires the food to be wrapped in a a special cloth, before being dunked into lava very slowly and carefully. Usually done on meats.
When done properly, the meat should come out very flavorful, but a little dry if not prepared properly beforehand. Luckily, we marinated our cut of Recagra for two days beforehand. The moisture from that should be able to keep it juicy, and even make it a bit tender.
After this, all you need to do is plate it with some other things like mashed dineja or a nice Blaxkov beverage, and your all set!
Happy dining!

If there’s anything good to be said about Age of Sigmar it’s that the descriptions of the Gods make them out to be more beings than living concepts. I appreciate that a lot tbh
