Our Most-Viewed Digitized Artifacts of All Time - @The Henry Ford
Interesting stuff from The Henry Ford, especially having visited and seen many of these artifacts in the flesh. In fall 2020, The Henry Ford digitized its 100,000th artifact. As part of a month-long celebration of that happy event, we assembled this set of the 100 artifacts most-viewed online since our first collections website was launched in the early 2010s. Many are fan favorites from HenryâŚ

Dodge Challenger T/A

Dodge Challenger T/A

Dodge Challenger T/A
The Trans American Sedan Championship came around in 1966, and it was mostly a Ford-Chevrolet turf war in its first five seasons, with no real competition from other manufacturers. The Z/28 and the Boss 302 (Camaro and Mustang) were clubbing each other over yonder, and Chrysler only bothered to rejoin the fun in 1970 after running only in the first two years.
1970 was the only year in the original Trans Am format when all pony car brands were represented on the tracks by factory-backed teams, thanks to the late arrival of the Plymouth-Dodge twins, the E-body Barracuda and Challenger. Mother Mopar didnât impress, though, and the two siblings left the competition at the end of the season.
However, to run in Trans Am, all cars had to abide by the Sports Car Club of America rule, which stated that a minimum of 2,500 vehicles sold to the general public were required for the respective nameplate to be allowed to run on the street circuits. Since it was the only all-new car launched in 1970, the Dodge Challenger was replicated in a most desirable 340-cube Six-Pack form, the single-year Challenger T/A.
Although the rules were crystal clear about the production numbers required to homologate it, the 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A did not make the bar, stopping at 2,399 examples. Thatâs a rare Mopar, no matter how we look at it, and it usually draws attention, especially when one pops up for sale. But strangely, thereâs one example in Utah that seems to fall short of buyerâs interest, given how itâs been on the market for ten weeks, and no one bought it.v

Ford Mustang: Tyler Owens x Reader
Tagging:Â @kmc1989 @hunterthecharmer @heylookwhoitis @Nameuknownthings @shakespeareanwannabe
Companion piece to:
The Mechanic - Tyler faces a problem when Boone brings his mechanic ex girlfriend back into the fold.
Rigs -Tyler reflects on history with you.

The men before Tyler have only ever seen you as a one night or a wife. Theyâve never understood your tenacity, your wicked humour, or fierce intelligence. They havenât stayed up all night arguing the semantics of classic cars, or spent entire weekends helping you restore the 67 Ford Musang someone had abandoned after it had totalled by a tornado. They donât pick up that special orange blossom honey hand cream you use to keep your skin from cracking underneath the harshness of the cleaners you use to rid your hands of car oil.
You think about this when you turn up to your garage that morning to find a small pot of it resting on the doorstep along with a note that has Tylerâs name and phone number etched in tidy block capitals. Heâd had to change it a couple of years ago, Boone had told you. One of his âfansâ had gotten hold of it, she wouldnât stop calling.
You open the small jar and inhale the sweet, soothing scent before dipping your fingers into it and rubbing the balm over your hands. Todayâs a paperwork day and youâre going to spend it tucked away in your office, dealing with the admin youâve been putting off because youâd rather be underneath a car than filing paperwork.
You pin the phone number to the corkboard on the wall behind your desk, your fingertips lingering on the picture stuck beside it. Itâs one of you and the first incarnation of the Wranglers, Tyler, Boone and Dani. Tylerâs arm is draped around your shoulders, his lips brushing over your temple as you smile at the camera. That had been before the tornado had disfigured you, before youâd needed thirty stitches to hold the left side of your face together.
You sit down in your ergonomic chair and stare at the jar of hand cream that now resides upon your desk. You know itâs an olive branch, Tylerâs way of reaching out after dismissing you the other day. This stuff doesnât come cheap and it can only be picked up in one place in Oklahoma. The fact heâs made the four hour trek round trip speaks volumes. Â
Acts of service, itâs always been his love language.
When Boone had first called you, youâd been adamant about not returning. Youâd learned the hard way what happened when you went up against a force of nature.
âWe just need help with the vehicles.â He had assured you. âYou donât have to come chasing with us.â
âHave you spoken to Tyler?â Youâd asked him and you could hear his hesitation down the line.
âNot yet. I thought it was best if I got you on board first.â Heâd said and you could imagine him playing with that fidget spinner he used to have as he talks to you.
âYou know I would do anything to keep you guys safe. Youâd said quietly. âJust because Iâm not around doesnât mean I donât care.â
âI know.â Boone had said. âAnd just because weâve not been around doesnât mean we donât care. Itâs hard for himâŚâ
âItâs hard for me too.â You remind Boone because every time you walk down the street someone does a double take when they look at you.
You used to be such a pretty girl, an ex had told you after heâd given you a pity fuck last year, now youâre just damaged.
Youâd used your keys to scratch a line along the entire side panel on his brand new SUV after he kicked you out of bed.
âYouâre lucky I didnât use acetone.â Youâd told him when youâd picked up the phone to him screaming. âKeep on calling and I will.â
Heâd gotten the message after that and you had kept yourself to yourself because youâd rather be alone than with someone who views you as charity case.
Your gaze strays back to Tylerâs phone number and youâre flung back into a memory, the one from after the hospital when you looked into the mirror for the first time
âYouâre still the most beautiful woman Iâve laid eyes on.â Heâd whispered against your mouth as heâd cradled your face between his palms, his thumb chasing over the black thread that lined your jaw. âThis isnât anything to be ashamed of, itâs just another part of your story.â
Youâd believed him at the time because Tyler, he doesnât lie, especially not to you. Youâd taken solace in his words, held you head up high when you went out on the street, ignored the stares and things were good until they werenât. There was another tornado outbreak out in Louisiana and Tyler, he just had to do the thing he loved even if it wasnât with the person he loved.
You give up on the paperwork, youâre too distracted for that level of organisation. You set yourself to work on the Mustang instead, cranking up Zach Bryan on the sound system, singing along under you breath as you continue your restoration. Youâre in the fight of your life with a rusty bolt when you hear a light rapping on open garage door behind you.
âIâm not done with you.â You threaten the bolt before you set the wrench down on the work bench and pick up a rag to clean your hands.
When you look up that your breath catches in your chest because itâs Tyler standing there, in those worn Leviâs heâs owned since his rodeo days and that orange flannel shirt you used to wear to bed at night.
âSophie.â He says softly, his arms crossed over his chest as he leans in the doorway. âCan we talk?â
Love Tyler? Donât miss any of his stories by joining the taglist here.

â â âś The black 2025 Ford Mustang roared its way to the arrivals entrance at the airport. Natasha had to admit, for the first time in a very long time, she was happy. Dare she say it? She was nearly giddy. One of her closest friends was finally coming back to New York. There was no judgement in the fact that Steve Rogers needed a sojourn after the war against Thanos. He'd given everything he has to keep the world safe; it was a about time he was afforded a break. Natasha had to admit, though, she had missed him while he was away. In her near century of life, she could count on one hand the number of people that she actually trusts, and the former Captain America was absolutely one of them.
With Bucky in the passenger seat, she kept her eyes on the road, swerving around cars going far too slow for her tastes. Bucky was a completely different matter as well. She didn't know if there was a term for what they were, but that didn't bother her. Bridges that she thought long since demolished were being rebuilt. Slowly, but steadily. It was truly the first time since the "blip" that she felt like she belonged somewhere; that she had a family. Of course, all of these good feelings put the redhead on edge, waiting for the other shoe to drop. If she was happy, then surely there was some evil mastermind about to put their world dominating plan into action.
For now, however, she was content to lose herself in the moment and Chappell Roan that played through the speakers.
Finally pulling up at the Arrivals curb, she put the Mustang in park and hopped out. "His plane should have landed a half hour ago, which means he should be walking out any minute," she told James as she folded her arms over her chest and leaned her hip against her car.

Pick a Pile No.1
Welcome to my first Pick a Pile :)
This is a collective reading so it may resonate more for some than others. Take what helps you and leave what doesnât. đ
If youâd like a personal reading, I currently have a deal in my shop for a free five song channeled playlist with any purchase of an s/o reading. Check my pinned post for more details.đ
What Advice Will Aid Your Shifting Journey
Choose pile 1, 2, or 3ďżź
Take a breath and simply pick the one you feel most drawn to.
(Top left pile 1, top right pile 2, bottom pile 3)

Pile 1
Lyrics standing out:
âYou b**** ainât like me
Dance in the breeze
A man with the sleaze
Stop it, get another topic
I got the nerve
And I block it
Youâre a brat
Cause I never repeat
Do what I say like Simon
Iâm a VIP
Sorry Iâm pretty and easy to hateâ
Okay pile 1, I SEE YOU GUYS!!! đ
đź This pile is short and sweet because you all know what you need, self aware queens. You all know your power, and as you should. For those of you in this pile who really know your power, own it more, step into it, actually practice it.
It feels like you all know what you need to do and you know you can shift, youâre just being lazy. PUT THE WORK IN. But frl, it seems like you guys really just need to set some time aside to focus on shifting and your DR because you know what to do, you just feel too busy. Itâs okay to take a breath. Some of you all in this pile may also be rushing yourself. Allow yourself to accept what your experiencing and just let it flow. Itâs already yours, you already have all of your desires.
Overall, pile 1, you guys are baddies whether you know it or not. Step into that power, own it, and use it. Make time for yourself and slow down a little. You donât have to experience everything at the same time, thatâs why you have a life, spend it.
Confirmation: 222, 444, Aquarius, ford mustang, hot pink, purple number 4, Elmo?, Sesame Street, Disney, neon green nails
Pile 2
Lyrics standing out:
âTrying to cover up my face
Try and stay calm
Something missing
I think looks wrong
When pretty isnât pretty enough
What do you do?
I could change up my body and change up my face
You can win the battle
Insecure
Try to ignore it
I donât know why I even try (I see the starfish position)
Just feel like sh*** over and over againâ
Hi pile 2! You guys are giving me 2020 shiftok vibes. A lot of you probably started to practice shifting around 2019/2020 and were fed a lot of misinformation and now you feel like that is stopping you, but it doesnât have to, let that go. You are in charge of your own reality so take that misinformation and use it as a learning experience. Donât be discouraged because it was false or didnât work for you, thatâs good because now youâre one step closer to knowing yourself and what does work for you!
You may be a person that is on social media a lot in general or just hyperaware of others lives and youâre comparing yourself to them. STOP IT. Everyoneâs experience is their own. When you see someone elseâs success or experience, you donât know what went down before that. Focus on yourself and what is meant for you, will happen. Accept it and take charge of it. You may be one who relies on others success for your own motivation as well, this is your sign to rely on yourself. Connect with your higher self and trust your intuition.
Keep going pile 2! You guys have put in time and energy this far, whatâs a little longer? Your efforts are not in vain. Youâve got this. Trust yourself!
Confirmation: tiktok, iPhone, 13, dodge, dodgers, football, Dallas cowboy cheerleaders, red white & blue, Olympics, gymnastics, toe nails, 12
Pile 3
Lyrics standing out:
âLight headed
For some reason I find myself lost in what you think of me
And too confused who I should be
In a big old world
Weâre so alike
When I cross that line
Itâs been a point of contention between myself and this body they stuck me in
Am I pretty enough to lie to you
Let me be the void you fill
I am quantum physics
My witness brings me to existence
So I can be your girlfriend boyfriendâ
Hello my lovely pile 3! You all feel trapped either in your bodies or just to this reality in general. You have put shifting to your DR on a pedestal or even a part of you doesnât want to accept that itâs real because you may not feel worthy. Remind yourself that you are constant, flowing energy.
Some of you have been so focused on âfinding yourselfâ, that instead you have used the 3D to define who you are in the 4D. Make the two align.
Try to focus more on the âwhatâ of shifting, instead of the âhowâ. Feel those connections and emotions you have in your DR. Maybe focus on one in particular that is important to you. Focus on one DR at a time. You have overwhelmed yourself with the thoughts of wanting to shift and being everywhere at once. Take your time and enjoy your CR as well. Shifting is an act and a journey, itâs real life, so make sure youâre still taking care of yourself.
In summary, you are more than your body. You are your thoughts and emotions and your actions, your love and energy you spread. Own that energy and use it for your benefit. Focus on who you are and what it is you want. Try to have a clear idea of that, then connect to it. Once you feel that connection, thatâs it. Congratulations itâs now yours. Forget the 3D and just know itâs already yours.
Confirmation: red, Taylor Swift, (Taylorâs version), reputation, Niall Horan, train, Liam Payn, 2222, lock and key, hearts, stars, moon, âgo piss girlâ, dress to impress

zeke jaeger headcanons!!!
notes: au/noncanon oriented, some apply to canon too, maybe a few mature themes!!!
let me know your thoughts!!!
zekeâs eyes are a pale blue-grey (#a1b0c6)
zeke plays the guiterâ he taught himself how as a teen. he still has the guitar he learned to play with, he bought it for $5 at a thrift store
zeke played baseball from childhood to college, that game is the love of his life. he still frequents all of the games he can humanly attend.
zeke is basically legally blind. he cannot function without his glasses, his prescription is too high for soft contacts, and he REFUSES hard contacts. scaryâŚ
being shirt-pants is hereditary in the jaeger family. zeke is very partial to a heavyweight cotton sweatshirt and good quality jeans.
he likes the beard, but he keeps it for another reason. without the beard, heâs starting to look more and more like grisha as he gets older.
one time he tried a mustache, but someone told him it makes him look like a bad pornstar who also owns an overpriced brewery. it doesnât stop him from wanting to try again.
zeke owns a lot of vintage things from mr. ksaver. clothes, things, furniture, jewelry, kitchen stuffâ mr. ksaver had no one else to give his old stuff to
back in the day when mr. ksaver played ball, he had the same jersey number as zeke did when he played. it makes for a lot of cool pseudo-custom vintage items
zeke smokes cigarettes and weed, but doesnât vape or use carts/pens. he likes to say that âthe real thing is better,â but in reality he hit a cart once and it made him green out so bad he thought he was dying.
zekeâs taste in music is dad rock. ironic! he loves grunge, post-grunge, and alternative rock.
zeke has two cars; an older model ford mustang from high school and a mid-sized truck. theyâre both shit on gas.
zeke has a lot of âbeauty markâ moles everywhere. pieck referred to them once as âtortilla-likeâ
zeke loves to cook but doesnât know how to cook single-person meals. he shares often.
he likes typical âmaleâ crime dramas, most notably the sopranos, but really enjoys gilmore girls. itâs nostalgic and the ambience of the show is irresistible.
he wears a lot of baseball caps because he has an abundance of them, and he wears them well.
zeke is secretly sentimental and has a tendency to hold onto his old stuff. hidden in a storage closet is the gameboy he taught eren how to play games on.
heâs a pc kind of guy and plays a lot of simulator games. one of his favorite games is truck driver simulator (i got this idea from @/casualaruanienjoyer!)
he keeps a lot of pictures of eren around, and even has a picture of him holding eren as a baby in his wallet.
theyâre not as close as zeke would like them to be, but he understands that itâs hard because of their age gap and family circumstances.
zeke coaches little league baseball and if it payed better, heâd do it as a career. he loves teaching and heâs fantastic with children (got This from @/jeankirsteinsgrlfrnd, go check out their stuff!!!)
being an older brother is a huge part of his identity and itâs hard to turn the older brother mindset off. he takes on that role any time heâs around people his own age and younger
zeke REALLY loves going to concerts. theyâre so cathartic and he feels like they allow him to be a little emotionally vulnerable, which is something he REALLY struggles with.
zeke sleeps very deeply but wakes up very easily.
heâs a hilarious guy with a big heart but his sardonic and snarky humor get in the way of seeing that.
despite his resentment (hatred might be a better word) towards grisha, he holds absolutely no resentment towards eren or carla.
zeke would spend his last penny to help out his friends and, of course, eren. heâd honestly spend his last penny just to make them happy if they asked.
zeke loves summertime and does not like the cold.

she's my collar - one-shot. | 2D x reader
this was literally made up in my head as i was driving on a fast road to this song lol, so enjoy !!<3 (might make another part to this so lmk)

content warning: none
summary: gorillaz as a band like to race their fancy cars every now and then, but when someone else shows up, they're all blown out of the water, especially 2D.
ONLY THING THAT STAYS CANON IS THE FACT THEY'RE A BAND.
Engines at the ready, 2D gripped the steering wheel of his bronze Ford Mustang. He looked to his right, where Murdoc was grinning at him menacingly in his Chevrolet Camaro, a few bullet holes in the side and painted with one large white star on the side. 2D lowered his head and looked at him with a deep death stare, he was going down. Murdoc revved his engine, before looking back towards the flag girl, who he had definitely had a thing with.Â
2D looked to his left then, Noodle in her white Mazda Miata and Russel in his orange Jaguar Spectre. He could see they were both focused, ready to be out for blood.Â
âThreeâŚâ 2D shifted in his seat, focusing his eyes on the road.
âTwoâŚâ The angry growl of his 1967 Mustang taunting his teammates, adrenaline pumping through his veins.
âOne!â Just before the last number was called, 2D caught sight of a purple blob heading his way at lightning speed, yet he quickly forgot about it when his bandmates sped off. 2D managed to catch up, only two seconds behind in the first place. He kept his foot to the floor, not allowing himself to be distracted. He overtook Murdoc, then Russel, and now Noodle was his biggest competition. Racing side by side, Noodle giggled to herself, looking over at 2D and blowing him a kiss.Â
What she didnât know was that 2D was playing her the whole time, only slowing to let her have her small bit of fun. You know, like all siblings do.
2D fake caught the blown kiss, throwing it behind him as he sped up, flying past Noodle. Merging back into the left lane, he checked his center mirror, seeing the purple blob from earlier formatted into a car. A Toyota GT86.Â
âNasty.â 2D thought, the tinted windows hiding the look of who was driving it. They seemed to be teasing him, driving so far up their back end it would be fatal if 2D were to slam on the breaks. Eventually, the car came round the side, blocking off Murdocâs boosted black beast, stopping him from getting past 2D. As the purple car approached, the passenger window was rolled down, 2D stared in awe as you kept an equal speed, one hand on the wheel and one on the gears. Hair blowing in the wind and lip bitten back.
You turned to look at him, smiling sweetly before speeding right up before a bend. You tucked in before 2D, slowing down in front of him, Murdoc had used his boost far too much and so now it was on a cool down, now you had nothing to worry about, neither did 2D. Except for each other.Â
You knew who he was, of course, knew they were having this race, youâd been a long time fan, but to Stuart, you were something of another world, a destruction of desire. You were the thing he didn't know he needed. He sped up again, merging to the right lane just in front of an attempting to overtake Russel, he wanted another look at you. You knew you had to keep the lead, keep in front, and so you followed 2Dâs pattern, everytime he moved lanes, you did too. No chance you were letting him get the time of day. In a flash of a moment, you reached the finish line, skidding across the track and you spun your car to face the others, Stuart not too far behind, followed by Russel, Murdoc and then Noodle. Your lap didnât count though, this was the bands race. Not that that would ever stop you. You got out and leant on your car door, 2D immediately walking over to you.
âWho are you..?â

From top :-
1970 Ford Torino Cobra was a rare muscle car with 429-cubic-inch V8 engine, shaker hood scoop, & dual exhausts. Cobra variant had 370 bhp & a high-lift cam. The Drag Pack option offered 375 bhp, forged aluminum pistons, and a mechanical-lifter cam. Itâs well known within the industry that itâs not too hard or expensive to add more go-fast gadgetry for Cobraâs to churn out in excess of 450hp. You read that rightâŚâŚ.. but donât tell the insurance companies!. It would reach 0-60 mph in 5.7 seconds and the quarter mile in 13.99 seconds at 107 mph in factory settings.
1970 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler was performance-focused version of the Mercury Cyclone, which was available with a range of powerful V8 engines, including the 429 Cobra Jet and 429 Super Cobra Jet. Due to NASCAR homologation rules, only a limited number of Spoilers were produced for sale to the public. By that fact it was essentially a street-legal version of a NASCAR stock car. From the factory, it did 0-60 mph: 6.2 seconds. 1/4 mile: 14.1 seconds at 100 mph. 370 hp @ 5400 rpm and 450 lb-ft of torque @ 3400 rpm. It came equipped with a competition suspension package for improved handling and performance. 1,631 units were built.
1970 Ford Ranchero GT. 3,905 being GT models were produced. 429 cu in (7.0 L) Cobra Jet V8: This high-performance option produced 370 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 mph: around 6 seconds. Quarter mile: around 14 seconds. From 4th gen. Torino family. 3 versions were available: The first 429 Thunder Jet put out 360-hp. Next in line was the 370-hp 429 Cobra Jet, available with or without the functional Ram Air induction system, while the top engine choice was the 375-hp 429 Super Cobra Jet, which could be had by checking the Drag Pack box on the order list. The SCJ came with a series of high-performance hardware, including four-bolt mains, forged aluminum pistons, beefier connecting rods, a hotter cam, solid lifters, an oil cooler, higher-flow exhaust manifolds, and a 780-cfm Holley 4150 carb that sat atop of a high-rise intake.
The 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 was offered with a 428 Cobra Jet engine and came standard with a 351 Cleveland V8. One of the factory options was the powerful 428 Cobra Jet & it came with 428 cu in (7.0 L) Ram Air Cobra Jet & Super Cobra Jet V8 (1969â1970) 4-barrel R-Code. 335 bhp (250 kW; 340 PS) @ 5,200. 440 lbâ
ft (597 Nâ
m) @ 3,400 rpm. 0-60 mph 5.1 seconds; Quarter Mile 13.6 seconds; top speed 114 mph. A rare version of the Mach 1, the Twister Special, was identified by its Grabber Orange paint, black interior, and "tornado" rear quarter-panel decals but we will come to that in another post.
1971 Mercury Cougar XR7 was a luxury muscle car. appropriately spiffed up and all. 429 cu in (7.0 L) Super Cobra Jet V8. 2nd gen. with longer wheelbase. C6 automatic transmission with 3.00:1 Traction-Lok. Put out 375 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 480 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. 0-60 mph: Around 6 seconds. 1/4 mile: Around 13 seconds at 107 mph A total of 1,359 Boss 429s were produced. The 1968 GT-E version, with either a 427 or 428 Cobra Jet engine, is the rarest Cougar model, with only 264 units produced. Weâll touch upon that in another post.

You look good, open casket goodâŚ
Chapter II, Time of the season
Amy takes up Blaineâs offer, against the pleas of her coworkersâŚ

Word count: 2,028
Slight smut warning, next chapter will be full on â¤ď¸âđĽâ¤ď¸âđĽ
Time of the season
âPlease Ames Iâm begging you, heâs not a nice person, donât get involved with him!â
Ravi pleaded with her, following her around the morgue like a lost puppy.
âWhy? What did he do? It canât be that bad? I mean you met my ex⌠canât be worse than him?â She joked but not a single laugh was heard, instead she was met with stern looks. Ravi didnât want to tell her, what would he say âoh yeah he killed a bunch of teenagers, turned multiple people into zombies, oh yeah heâs a brain/drug dealer!ââŚno, sheâd just ask why they didnât get Clive to arrest him, and there was no time to explain everything.
âIâll just drop by, it couldnât hurt? I probably wonât even take his offer, wouldnât want to leave youâŚâ she smirked at him, packing up her things for the day before leaving for home.
âIâll see you Monday, donât worry about me!â She waved at Ravi and left through the bay doors, shouting a quick âbye!â To Liv.
The air was cold and wet as the rain hit the pavement, autumn was Amyâs favourite time of year, the weather, the falling leaves, the endless horror movies and not to mention the Halloween (which at her play was all year round) decorationsâŚ
She smiled as she opened her car door, a beautiful 1967 Ford Mustang in olive green, her dream car. Sheâd saved up for it all her life, and when she moved to the US she knew she had to have one, she could deal with not affording dinner or not having curtains in her apartment, if she had that car.
The radio was blaring loud as she drove home, old rock songs playing, music by the Rolling Stones, the Beatles and the Zombies playing to set the mood, it was a perfect fall day.
She genuinely felt happy, no more stress from her relatives, old relationships, old jobs⌠she was starting anew, living the life she wanted. So there was no surprise on her neighbours face when she walked into her apartment lobby, whistling and walking with a spring in her step. âGood evening Ms Danes!â
When she finally sat down in her sofa, feet up, tv on, she reached into her pocket and pulled out the business card given to her by the admittedly attractive man who was sitting on an autopsy table earlier. Now that she thought about it, I guess it was kinda weird that Ravi was looking at him instead of him going to a usual doctor, but hey in America, who could blame him for not wanting to pay a fortune to get his blood pressure checked?
âBlaine DeBeers, owner of Shady Plots funeral home, where we lay your loved ones to rest the right wayâ
Huh shady plots, bit on the noseâŚ
She pulled out her phone and called the number on the back, slightly nervous from Liv and Ravis protests, but she couldnât keep working in the morgue forever, she needed a real funeral home to truly show her craftsmanship, somewhere where families can come to see their loved ones without having to bear witness to slashed up victims and loose organs.
It only rang twice before he picked up âBlaine DeBeers, how can I help you!â She unconsciously smiled, feeling butterflies in her stomach.
âHi this is Amy, the mortician from the morgue.â
âOh Amy! Great I didnât think youâd callâ she could practically hear his smirk over the phone, which only made her more nervous, why did she feel this way?
âDid you not?â She joked âWhat a confident businessman!â
They talked for a bit, Amy telling him about her experience in Glasgow medical school before changing her major to mortuary school, how she worked in Hastings as an apprentice mortician before finally working in a quaint little funeral home on the sea front.
âThis all sounds great, but uh- do you want to grab dinner tonight? Make it a business meeting, we can really get into the details.â She grinned in surprise at his offer. Fiddling with the cuff of her jeans.
âYeah that sounds good-great! What time?â
They agreed on 8 o clock, it was now 5:30 so she had enough time to shower off the smell of formaldehyde and get into something nicer.
For the latter she decided on a long, silk, black dress with a slit going up the side, with a button up white shirt underneath to keep it somewhat casual, she wore her black Mary janes and carried a coffin shaped bag, yep she was that into her job.
She kept her makeup simple, black eyeliner and some fluffy fake lashes, and a dark plum lipstick to contrast her bright green eyes. She curled her hair and wore her favourite perfume, itâs been a while since sheâs felt this nice.
She got into her car and drive to the agreed upon place, somewhere called âRitosâ some local Italian place, that was fancy enough for a business meeting, but still laid back enough to be crowded on a Friday night. She looked around for a bit before parking up and walking to meet the pale haired man, who was already waiting outside.
âOh I hope I didnât keep you waiting too long!â Blaine smiled at her, taking her hand in a firm yet soothing hand shake.
âDonât worry about it, I just got here!â
They made their way inside, Blaine pulling out her chair for her, she marvelled at the dark green walls, mauve velvet chairs and dark wool tables, plants hanging above the bar and waiters walking around in fancy suits, it was nice, comforting but still striking.
âSo what brought you to Seattle?â He asked her while a waiter brought them two menus, smiling at them both before walking off to the dimly lit bartender, already asking for two wine glasses.
âWellâŚi guess just fate, the owner of my last business passed away, he was very old and he didnât have any family to take it over, I didnât feel ready yet and so I lost my job, I met Ravi in college and we talked and he mentioned that he was now working in a morgue, and I just needed to get away from everything, I just packed up and left, I was sick of my life thereâŚâ she looked down at her menu, studying the drinks.
âSounds like an adventure, couldnât have been easy⌠want a bottle of wine for the table?â He interjected himself.
âOh actually, I donât drink⌠recovering addict.â She said the last part quietly but Blaine heard, he nodded and smiled.
âDonât worry they do a great non alcoholic wine here!â She looked up at him and smiled, usually people giver her strange looks or pressure her to drink whenever she says she doesnât, but he listened, he respected her choice and didnât push, she liked that.
The waiter returned with the bottle and poured them each a glass.
âCheers, to new adventures!â Blaine raised his glass and winked at her, she couldnât help but blush when they clinked glasses.
The rest of the night went smoothly, talking about work and personal stuff, they had a lot of laughs and really seemed to click, why was Ravi so I sit at not to involve herself with him? She didnât understand, but frankly at this point sheâs forgotten all about his warnings, she was instead just enjoying her night.
Around 12 they had eaten and Blaine happily paid the bill, against Amyâs insisting that sheâd pay her half.
âItâs on the funeral home.â He laughed, shooting her a playful look.
âWant to see where youâll be working?â He asked, walking out into the cool air, watching her light a cigarette.
âSo Iâve got the job?â Her eyes were wide and she smiled. âThank you so much you have no idea how great this is!â She restrained from jumping up and down in pure joy.
He smiled back at her, leading her to her car, telling her to follow him to shady plots.
She could barely contain her excitement while tailing him, she rang Ravi to tell him the good news but he didnât answer, most likely sleeping, he never went out, never even on weekends.
She left him a voicemail instead.
When they pulled up to the beautiful Victorian home she couldnât stop staring, the porch lights glowing an orange light and the windows were slightly stained pink, giving them a beautiful shine.
âYou like it?â Blaineâs voice broke her from her trance as he took her hand. âCome on.â He lead her to the front door, pulling out his keys and opening the wooden front door, motioning for her to go inside.
âThis place is gorgeous! I donât know what to say!â
âIt really isâŚâ Blaineâs eyes burned into the side of her head, eyes blown with lust. Heâd been holding back all night, not wanting to scare her off. Sure it was a little forward of him to invite her to shady plots as a ruse to sleep with her, but I mean, he couldnât help it, and plus it wasnât like he was lying to her, she got the job, if not only for her looks but for her undeniable qualifications.
He lead her around the house, showing her the viewing room, the morgue and finally his office, thatâs where he planned on ending the night.
âSo what do you think?â He smirked sitting down behind his desk, leaning back and gripping the arm rests, his eyes now only focused on the slightest sight of Amyâs leg through the slit in her dress.
âThis place is amazing, Iâm so happy you hired meâŚâ she trailed off, still admiring the interior.
âNot as happy as I am I bet.â He joked but the slight growl in his voice was unmistakable. He couldnât stop staring at her, her legs were pale and perfectly shaped, from her skin but muscled calves to her thick thighs, tattoos still scattered all over them, he couldnât help but wonder what other tattoos she had, maybe in less⌠visible places. Her lips were full and plump, so soft and kissable, and those eyes, those unbelievable eyes, they were hypnotic, she must have this affect on everyone, how could anyone not go crazy looking at those beautiful green orbs.
She shifted in her seat, noticing his staring and feeling slightly uncomfortable, she wasnât used to this attention, but she liked it.
Blaine searched for an excuse to get her closer to him, looking around the room before his eyes settles onto his small office window.
âCome here, thereâs a great view of the city from hereâŚâ she followed him as he stood up and walked towards the small window, moving the drapes away just enough for her to see the lights of the skyline sparkle in the night.
She silently thanked the architect for making these windows so thin, as she was practically so close to him that he could smell her perfume, now hours old, radiating from her.
âWow, itâs beautifulâŚâ
She gazed out to the horizon, but Blaineâs gaze stayed on her.
âAmy?â
âYeah?â She looked at him, eyes darting from his to his lips, sheâd felt it all night too, this undeniable tension between them, a connection that was more than potential coworkers.
His hand reached for her chin, tipping it up before leaning down and kissing her, soft, slow and caring, her hands made their way to his neck, fingers twisting in his short hair. They pulled away, slightly breathless, looking in each others eyes in comfortable near-silence. Just the sound of the record player in the background.
There was a mutual understanding between them as Blaine walked backwards towards his office chair, still holding her before sitting down, pulling the gorgeous woman onto his lap.
She initiated the kiss this time, pulling him in tightly while his hands explored her body, settling on her hips, massaging them gently while her kisses became more needy and biting.
They both knew what would happen nextâŚ

Shade was hitting his bong in his car, probably not an ideal place to his bong, but that's where he was in the realm of things that seemed like good ideas currently. Honestly he'd just had it in his hand and forgotten he did until he'd gotten in his car and there it was. So he took a long hit before buckling into his passenger seat. Safety first and all.
It was supposed to stay there until he'd gotten to his destination, but low and behold there was a red light and it was the longest red light known to fucking man. It was an unholy length of time. Maybe time was moving different because he was so fucking high off his ass and on a few, number, of other drugs, but that was neither here nor there. Regardless the choice was made. It wasn't until he was blowing out a massive lung of smoke that he realized next to him was a squad car.
The long 'fuuuuuck' was mouthed from him in a billow of smoke cleared and he squinted. As a high profile citizen of Krovs town, or person of intrigue, as Shade liked to refer to himself. He stared at the man next to him.
"The fuck is this guy." He didn't realize his internal monologue was now external. That was the level of fucked up Shade currently was. "Obviously, this is bullshit." He snorted because he knew all the cops in town very, very well and this one he didn't. He'd have known if there was a new one. Kaden or Ransom would have told him. They wouldn't dare hire someone without telling him. Sacred cop petty criminal trust bond could not be broken.
So the cambion kept on driving after buckling up his bong again, safety first and all, in his white, with blue racing stripes, half built up '65 ford Shelby mustang going as near to the speed limit as he could, which was mostly 15 to 20 over depending how many people were around until he pulled up to his restaurant parking in his reserved spot. He was the owner after all. He realized the cop car was still there.
"Oi, you a stripper or some shit, cause high noon on my sun dial." He called out as he got out of his car and saw the officer coming his way. It had to be a stripper.

Eleanor taunts her pursuers in Gone in 60 Seconds (H.B. Halicki, 1974)
Cast: H.B. Halicki, Marion Busia, Jerry Daugirda, James McIntyre, George Cole, Ronald Halicki, Markos Kotsikos. Screenplay: H.B. Halicki. Cinematography: Scott Lloyd-Davies, Jack Vacek. Art direction: Dennis Stouffer. Film editing: Warner E. Leighton. Music: Ronald Halicki, Philip Kachaturian.Â
True, Americans love cars. But it's equally true that they love seeing them crash. Gone in 60 Seconds is the fulfillment of stunt driver H.B. "Toby" Halicki's dream: to make a movie with the wildest, most destructive car chase in film history. At that he succeeds, with a 40-minute scene in which a yellow 1973 Ford Mustang called Eleanor takes on all comers, leaving 93 automobiles in ruins. Eleanor is the true star of the film, as Halicki realizes: She's the only performer mentioned in the opening credits. The remaining hour or so of the film is just setup, although an additional 32 cars get wrecked in some fashion before the big chase. Halicki plays Maindrian Pace, an insurance investigator with a sideline: He and his crew steal cars and resell them after disguising the stolen cars with identification numbers and license plates taken from similar models they buy from junkyards. (As an upright insurance man, he insists that all the stolen cars be insured.) When he gets a big order from a Venezuelan drug lord for 48 vehicles of all sorts, he and his gang set out to procure them. Each car is given a woman's name as a way of keeping track of them. There are a few hiccups: Nancy, a Cadillac Eldorado, is discovered to have a trunk full of heroin; Maindrian insists that she has to be destroyed, which angers his brother-in-law, Eugene (Jerry Daugirda), who wants to sell the drugs. Eleanor is also a problem: At the very last minute before he's supposed to deliver the cars, Maindrian discovers that she's uninsured, which goes against his rule. Fortunately, he knows where another Eleanor can be stolen, which further angers Eugene, who rats out Maindrian to the cops, giving them the location where Maindrian is going to steal her. When he's discovered, Maindrian takes off in the new Eleanor, leading a flotilla of cop cars from various Southern California towns and cities into the film's autopocalypse. The remarkable thing about the great chase is that Halicki was able to get cooperation from various authorities, ranging from the California Highway Patrol to the mayors and city councils of the towns through which it runs. The story of how the movie was made is in some ways more interesting than the movie itself. Halicki, driving Eleanor, was seriously injured in one scene and had to shut down filming for three weeks. (Fifteen years later, Halicki was killed in an accident while making a sequel to the movie.) Much of Gone in 60 Seconds is tedious setup exposition, and it's poorly acted -- the cast largely consists of Halicki's friends and family -- but those 40 minutes are golden, a tribute to Halicki's persistence and especially to his cameramen, stunt drivers, and film editors.Â

History of the 1965 Shelby Cobra
The 1965 Shelby Cobra is arguably the most iconic and influential sports car to emerge from the American muscle eraâthough it wasn't a muscle car in the traditional sense. It was a brutal fusion of American horsepower and British engineering, designed by Carroll Shelby with one goal: to dominate the competition on road and track.
Shelby took the lightweight AC Ace chassis from Britain and shoehorned a Ford V8 into it, creating a monster that shocked both the American and European racing scenes. The Cobra's official launch occurred in 1962 with the 260 and 289 cubic-inch engines, but 1965 marked the arrival of the legendary 427 Cobraâan all-out race car barely disguised for the street. This was the year it became a true heavyweight.

Only 23 original 427 Cobras were built as competition models in 1965, with another 260 âstreetâ and S/C (Semi-Competition) versions to follow, making them incredibly rare and desirable today.
Design Features
The 1965 Cobra wasn't flashy or over-designedâit was purpose-built for speed, and that function dictated its fierce form:
Compact, Lightweight Body: The aluminum body was hand-formed in England by AC Cars, making the Cobra feather-light.
Wide Fenders and Gaping Air Intakes: These accommodated the huge tires and cooling needs of the 427 engine.
Side Pipes: Functional and aggressive, these produced an unmistakable roar.
Roll Bar and Racing Harnesses (in some versions): Hinting at the Cobraâs true callingâtrack domination.
Simple Interior: No creature comforts hereâjust a wood-rimmed steering wheel, Smiths gauges, toggle switches, and racing seats.
Engine Performance
The star of the 1965 Shelby Cobra was the Ford FE-series 427 V8, a brute-force big-block engine originally designed for NASCAR.

427 Cobra (Street Version):
Displacement: 427 cubic inches (7.0L)
Horsepower: 425 hp (underrated; actual output closer to 500 hp)
Torque: 480+ lb-ft
0-60 mph: ~4.2 seconds
Quarter-mile: ~12.2 seconds at 118 mph
427 S/C (Semi-Competition):
Built from unsold race cars and slightly detuned for street use
Identical engine specs but even more raw and track-ready
Thanks to its combination of massive power and low curb weight (~2,400 lbs), the Cobra could out-accelerate virtually any car of its time, and many modern ones too.
Why the 1965 Shelby Cobra Stood Out
The 1965 Cobra wasnât just fastâit was revolutionary. Here's what made it a legend:
David vs. Goliath: Carroll Shelby used ingenuity to beat Ferrari and other European giants at their own game.
Race-Proven Pedigree: The Cobra won countless races in the SCCA, FIA, and beyond. In fact, the Cobra helped Ford win the 1965 FIA GT World Championship, making it the only American constructor to ever do so.
Raw Power-to-Weight Ratio: With one of the best ratios of its time, the Cobra handled and braked almost as well as it accelerated.
Cultural Icon: Its image has been cemented in pop culture, racing history, and the hearts of collectors for decades.
Shelbyâs Legacy: The Cobra launched the Shelby brand, paving the way for future legends like the Shelby GT350 and GT500 Mustangs.
Current Value by Grade
Original 1965 Shelby Cobras are among the most valuable collector cars in the world. Pricing varies based on configuration and documentation, especially between 289 and 427 versions.
Original 1965 Shelby 427 Cobra (real, not replica):
Concours Condition (Verified, Perfect Restoration or Survivor): $1.5M â $3.5M+
Excellent Condition (Original Drivetrain, Restored): $1.2M â $2.5M
Good Condition (Older Restoration, Non-Matching Components): $900,000 â $1.5M
1965 Shelby Cobra Replica/Continuation Car:
Due to the Cobraâs cult status, hundreds of replicas exist (by companies like Superformance, Factory Five, and Shelby American itself):
High-End Replica (Superformance, Factory Five with Ford crate engines): $80,000 â $150,000
Basic Kit Car/Replica: $50,000 â $80,000
Only Cobras with CSX chassis numbers issued by Shelby American are considered ârealâ Cobras and command top dollar.
Conclusion
The 1965 Shelby Cobra is not just a muscle or sports carâitâs a mythical creature in the world of automotive performance. With its combination of lightweight British design and earth-shaking American power, it changed the landscape of racing and performance cars forever. Whether tearing up the track or crossing the auction block, the Cobra remains a symbol of American ingenuity and speed without compromise.
Even today, no car says âperformanceâ quite like a 1965 Shelby Cobraâa machine that proved you donât need to be the biggest to be the baddest.

The fastest American car to ever loop the NĂźrburgring might also be among the most expensive ones to do so. According to one would-be owner of the upcoming Ford Mustang GTD, what was originally billed as a $325,000 car may actually end up costing double that once everything is said and done.
