Rollo's got a Dirty Mind
I have no justification for this other than I think it's funny to make this bastard man so astronomically down bad for a fem!Yuu. If you want someone to blame, blame @mymainwastoocluttered and @marisakumi because I basically lifted this exact prompt from their post. Like y'all I literally got possessed to write this last night at like 930 wtf plus @adrianasunderworld I think you would like this too since we've been bullying Rollo
@mymainwastoocluttered I know I promised you hellfire scenarios and I swear I will give you them once the whole event is translated but I needed to get this out of my system. Also like wow I made this super depraved and Rollo is a big ol' yikes. 2.2k words of him being yikes plus plus implied Malleus x Yuu because I can.
tw: Rollo being Frollo, Delusions, Obsessive behavior, Yandere, Kissing, Tickling, Tickling used as foreplay, Malleus being a simp, Threesome MMFM, Dirty Talk, Praise, Cunnilingus (Fem receiving) Hickeys, Groping, Titty Sucking (please someone tell me if there is a better name for that), Strip Tease, Male Masturbation, Dacryphilia, Fingering (Fem receiving), Rough Sex (MxF), Degradation, Post Nut Delusions, Regret, Gang Bang, More Delusions. Basically, very NSFW so if it ain't your thing then scroll away.
🔞 NO ONE UNDER 18 CAN READ THIS 🔞
I forgot to add this the first time so I'm editing it in now but I do not care. If you are a minor go away this ain't for you.
None of the sexual stuff actually happens Rollo just has a fucked up imagination.
p.s. I wrote this as a fem!reader in mind so I only used words like (she/her/the girl) to describe the reader so...I don't know, you'll see what I mean and hopefully it isn't confusing but tell me if my grammar is off.
Also I didn't know about what happened in part 3 of the event because I wrote this the night before and just finished editing in the morning. Only to go on TikTok and see Rollo being 😬 y'know? So imagine my slight surprise at him being THAT crazy. But still I think this interpretation gives more possibilities even if it's not totally accurate to his character.
How could this have happened?
Rollo Flamme was the prestigious student council president of Nobel Bell College. He was a man both men and women feared and respected as he met their eyes. Yet they dare not to stare into the abyss of his gaze lest they be pulled in.
So how? How could he feel so…undone by a single magicless girl?
His plan was perfect. He finally had THE Malleus Draconia in his grasp by imploringly debasing himself in a letter to that blundering headmage, Dire Crowley, that they simply must have Malleus attend the symposium. Even though he had thought they would send Malleus anyway if not for that blasted lottery system the headmage decided to employ and the fact that Malleus was apparently not even in attendance of the selection anyway. But no matter, he is not above having his assistant give out some meaningless flattery in a letter if it means his plan falls into motion.
Yet the moment the students arrived in the common area and he met her gaze, everything began falling apart.
A…girl? A girl was attending Night Raven? Not even one of Trein's daughters, no! She's simply a student paired with a feline familiar who can speak! Surrounded by all of these delinquent men, floundering for her attention AND she can't perform magic? What has Night Raven College become?! What is that headmage thinking?!
He cannot help how his gaze wanders toward her. She chats so casually with the first year known as Deuce Spade, the two of them are obviously very close. He lets his vice president and assistant speak for him as he imagines the freshman's love-struck gaze filled with longing and beginning to lean in to-
He nearly startles when Azul begins questioning him about the history of the college. He refocuses his mind as they begin the tour.
Why in the world did his mind wander like that? Men and women can be friends and not have feelings for one another. He knows this, and yet, he ponders.
She is a quiet girl, no doubt. Taking in the scenery so unlike that of Night Raven as they continue the tour while her feline companion badgers with questions aplenty. Him and the sophomore known as Ruggie Bucchi seem to bond over food related inquiries as they question when they will receive sustenance, with the freshman known as Epel Felmier chiming in with more savory options.
Rollo's mind wanders again as he sees Ruggie pull the girl close to him by the waist. The contact is far from friendly yet he can see her relax in his grip as Ruggie whispers conspiratorially in her ear before attempting to tickle her with his clawed fingers. Epel was about to join in before a sharp cough from Trein and Riddle made the three pause and laugh guiltily.
Yet, Rollo sees something more salacious in those two. He sees them restraining her and assaulting her with tickles until she cries out for mercy. Would they grant it to her without question? Or would it come with a price? He takes out his handkerchief and breathes in the scent before he can question just what that price may be.
The worst event happens in the bell tower. His mind had already wandered when she became winded alongside Azul and Idia, with Jamil offering her some water to quench her thirst, but Rollo was quick to shake his head at the image of her grateful smile towards the Scarabia sophomore. But the seed of madness was planted with an offer from Malleus to carry the girl back down the tower lest she becomes unsteady and falls. An offer she was apparently happy to accept.
These two…were friends? Not only friends, but close enough to joke about such displays of skinship with each other?
No. There was no joke. That was love in the ancient fae's eyes.
Malleus Draconia is in love with her.
The very thought makes Rollo want to scream.
The freshman guardsmen known as Sebek Zigvolt tries to dissuade his liege by offering to carry her instead but is rebutted by his senior guardsmen Silver, stating that Malleus could carry her if he so chooses to.
The most lascivious and depraved image fills Rollo's mind as he pictures the three men all but clawing at her bare form. Her whimpers of pleasure are unbidden and raw as Malleus sits her in his lap, whispering words unknown yet passionate in the language of the fae as his two guardsmen drive her mind and body to the brink of ecstasy. Malleus guides the younger fae to lap at her core causing her to squirm in his grasp yet his grip is steady and true on her thighs as his comrade teases her body with softer touches. Silver mindlessly praises her for being able to handle them all at once as he parrots Malleus' words in human tongue. The sophomore litters her neck and collarbone in kisses and lovebites as the girl lets out squeaks and moans of pleasure. Malleus' hands slide across her body to grope her chest and play with the soft mounds of flesh in order to tempt the human into taking one into his mouth and sucking on it. Her hands are stuck in Sebek's hair as he begins to bring her to the brink of ecstasy. Her cries reach a fever pitch in his mind just as everyone decides to descend the tower.
And just as he fears, Malleus Draconia sweeps the girl off her feet as they begin their descent. Her laughter sounds even sweeter than the Bell of Salvation as she admonishes the fae for not giving her a warning first. He teases that it is his duty to playfully startle her when he can. He sees her loop her arms around the fae’s neck and pulls herself closer to him, close enough for him to whisper in her ear something that makes her voice titter with a laugh.
Rollo takes out his handkerchief once more from his pocket. His grip almost tearing the fabric in two.
He simply must get a hold of himself. He is a man dedicated to fulfilling the duties of the Righteous Judge, for Seven's sake! He is above such debauchery and lust that simply being in a girl's presence would bring a lesser man. He feels himself begin to calm down once they exit the bell tower and return to the square where they gift everyone their festival wear.
"How do I look?" Oh no…
See, the plan was to give the Night Raven students ceremonial outfits to fit the theme of the festival. Knights, merchants, and performers were the inspiration yet how could he have known there was a girl in attendance at an all-male school? So they gave her a slightly altered costume.
He knows the question isn't directed at him. Gods above he knows it. But he can't help the way his mind races at the image before him. Her costume fits perfectly in all of the right ways and Rollo feels his face burn as she smoothes the fabric around her waist, accentuating her figure as she parades around to her friends, playfully tipping her hat towards the upperclassmen in respect. The junior known as Rook Hunt all but bursts into song about her beauty and Rollo can't help but agree with the blonde. Now he pictures himself dressing her down until she-
The students turn themselves out into groups before they head out into the city. Trein takes responsibility for the girl and her cat as Rollo gives the excuse of needing to attend to other duties before he can join them. His Vice and Assistant get no chance to question his off behavior before he retreats to his private dormitory.
As soon as the lock is turned, Rollo flies towards the bathroom. He nearly rips the clothes off his upper body before he pulls his belt loose enough to pull down his pants. He hesitates for barely a second, there is no going back once he begins his sin, but he is far too pent up and his heart is racing too fast to stop before releasing his cock from the confines of his boxers and beginning to stroke to the thought of her.
His pace is rough and fast as he pumps himself to her visage. What she would look like if she went to Nobel Bell instead of Night Raven. Seeing her in their traditional garments. What she would look like in his garments? He groans in arousal at the thought and hisses at the burn of his cock in his hand.
"See you later, Rollo!" Her sweet voice as she waved to him before she left. Her cute smile as she walked off with Trein and Grim. How he wished he could guide her through the city alone, free of that cat monster and the old man. He would show her the sights, taking in her awe-struck expression and her curious nature as he tells her of the history of the city.
Cute. Cute. Everything about her was cute as Rollo's mind revisited his visions from before, this time with him as the one longing for love. He pictures her gazing at him as he leans in for a kiss. How sweet would her lips taste as he swallows her moans of his name? He would give anything to know.
He pictures himself tickling her as her laughter fills his mind until she's all he hears. How adorable would she look with tears in her eyes as she cries for him? Perhaps he should invite his Vice or his Assistant to keep her pinned as he pushes her to her limits and makes her cry out for mercy. But he has no mercy to give for one so sinfully cute.
He can feel his cock nearing to burst with his final vision. He can see himself spearing the girl on his cock, one hand groping at her chest with practiced precision while the other plays with her core like a violin. Her skin is so smooth, he thinks, as she keens under his touch and she begs for him to take her properly. Would his whispered words be praises for a job well done, or would he admonish her with filthy rebukes for tempting a pious man with her sinfully seductive body? Either way, she screams with pleasure for more. More of what, he did not know, but he would satisfy her until she was painted in his lust.
Painted. His mind clears from the haze of sin as he realizes he has painted his toilet with his semen. He takes a moment just staring at himself, covered in his own fluids and struggling to breathe.
"What have I done?!" Rollo panics and washes himself off as quickly as possible to get rid of any evidence of his perverse desires for the girl from Night Raven College.
Perverse. Never did he think he would use that word on himself. Just what manner of curse did that girl put on him to make him obsess like this? She must secretly be a witch, he reasons. He has barely known her for half a day and already he wishes to have her for his own. At first, all he wanted was Malleus Draconia. Now, he couldn't care less about the fae prince and only desires the girl. He finishes cleaning himself off and goes to sit on his bed. He hangs his head in shame at what depravity he has committed in such a short time span.
The problem is, the images don't leave his mind. His lust turns to anger at the persistent reminder of his sin as his thoughts replace him with the other students once more. Now it's Riddle Rosehearts kissing her so sweetly, Rook Hunt and Jamil Viper teasing her with sweet words and playful touches, and Azul Ashengrotto alongside Idia Shroud as the two of them debauched her. He imagines her taking all of it with such an innocent smile on her face, the trust she has in those heathens unwavering as she sighs in bliss. His mind then conjures more scenarios, The freshmen kiss her in faux sweetness before the sophomores dirty her with their grubby mitts. All to prep for the juniors to sully any purity she might have had left. Different individuals mix in new lewd and licentious combinations and she takes it all. She fuels their lust with her own with a smile as she encourages their lecherous behavior.
Rollo can feel the blood burn through his veins as he becomes hard once more, thus starting another cycle of lust. He feels like a voyeur in his own mind and growls as his mind spirals.
None of them deserve her. She is a pure light of innocence and beauty and those hedonistic brutes would only tarnish her.
If only he could show her that none of those men would be able to love her like he could. He would devote himself night and day to her, treat her like the goddess she is, worship her with every breath in his body and spill the blood of any who would try to take her from him.
Wait, love? Is that what he feels towards her? Is this insatiable, burning feeling actually love?
It burns like hellfire. But if he must burn, then so shall she.
She must choose to love him and join Nobel Bell College as his goddess or burn at the pyre like the witch she is.

Does twinkie like cats 🐈?
Onix: Yes! As long as they don't try to hurt her, she'll love them for life. She tries to give them kisses but she doesn't completely know how. 😂💗

i've been contemplating other disney villains that would make good TWST faculty because goodness knows there aren't enough & it bothers me lmao, and i have some IDEAS :3c
• hear me out: a school nurse character based on Zira from the lion king 2 who just apathetically kicks back & calls students whiners & fakers & tells them to suck it up unless Crowley or Trein are in earshot,
then puts on an overly attentive, almost smothering act over the tiniest thing (until the coast is clear again, then more or less drops what he's doing & walks away, sometimes actively causing injuries lmao)
(obviously he dotes on leona & thinks he should be successor to the throne)
• judge frollo inspired librarian who gives everyone stank eye for taking out any books that don't perfectly fit his worldview
(& would remove more than half the catalogue if he could get away with it)
EDIT: JUST FUCKING KIDDING I GUESS, THE BASTARDS BEAT ME TO THE PUNCH WITH THEIR LITTLE CRYBABY B*CHBOY FLAMME.
i WILL think of someone else to fill this librarian role, mark me……
• a clayton character who's, of all things, a geography teacher. 👀
this is a TERRIBLE idea.
• lefou as an assistant phys ed instructor/faculty advisor for some of the sports clubs vargas doesn't care about
• mother gothel as a charms teacher who has a weird rivalry with crewel despite technically teaching a different subject.
(crewel finds his apparent fixation amusing, but doesn't actually take it seriously himself)
• astronomy professor a la captain hook who's actually sebek's uncle on his mother's side grandfather
he's either 100% fae or half fae (but instead of disliking humans he dislikes fae? & favours humans. or maybe just the particular type of fae their family is, haven't decided)
bullies sebek mercilessly in class either way (even to the point that silver worries about him a little)
EDIT: yeah they've dropped too many hints about sebek's gramps not to have him be someone significant & until they reveal him im gonna keep hoping it's this jerk
• bagheera* character as diplomacy/criminal justice/sociology professor
he carries the humanities dept on his back
between him & trein this is the most underfunded & understaffed dept
as he & trein are both so stern & no nonsense, their dept is unfortunately also the least popular
he refuses to teach animal linguistics. crowley keeps nudging him about it, but he insists it's discriminatory & that he already has too much on his plate
• shere khan character as poli sci professor
kaa as psych teacher
john silver(treasure planet) as philosophy teacher
these are the only other humanities teachers & it's a nightmare for bagheera & trein
*i think baloo & mowgli would be at RSA but given the way people have historically vilified felines, the prejudice of black = evil in magic/fantasy settings & superstitions etc, and the way bagheera himself was willing to make himself the bad guy to mowgli if it would convince him to leave the jungle for the safety of human society, i think it's reasonable to assume he'd wind up at NRC

Anonymous asked: Frollo….how do you feel about an 'uncommon' pet being named after you? (Ex. a pig, a frog, an axolotl, a parrot…)

what would be cooking club's and newspaper club's favorite Disney character? idk why this idea popped into my head but it did
Hoseok - Tiana (the Frog Princess)
As someone who values diligence and hard work, he really enjoyed Tiana's character. She's a strong, independent woman, who follows her dream and works hard for it. It's admirable. Besides that, it was the first disney movie he watched. Y/n was shocked when they found out that he had never watched a disney movie. So they got him to watch it with them. He wasn't complaining.
Seokjin - Duchess (the Aristocats)
He remembers watching that movie with his mother, when he was younger. He absolutely loved it and wanted a white cat because of Duchess. He doesn't know why, but he loves that feline. He ended up getting a white cat and named it Duchess, in his freshman year.
Yoongi - Penny (the Rescuers)
Yoongi rarely got the privilege to watch movies. They were way too expensive. But he remembered seeing the movie on TV, back in elementary school. His mother sat passed out drunk on the sofa, while he sat infront of the Television with big eyes. He related to Penny. It didn't feel like he had a family either. He wished someone would rescue him, but that would be unlikely to happen.
Namjoon - everyone (Atlantis - the lost empire)
He could sit you down and prepare a three hour long presentation on why Atlantis was the best movie to have ever been created. He loved how smart and awkward Milo was. Because, hey, he's smart and awkward too! Then Kida and Audrey were his first crushes. He still watches the movie at least once a month, under a pile of blankets at 2 am.
Jimin - Prince Philip (Sleeping Beauty)
The only reason is that Prince Philip was his childhood crush. He'd swoon every time. He really wanted to be Aurora, that still hasn't changed. Another possible option for him would be Prince Naveen from the Frog Princess. That accent, and the smirk! But Prince Philip has nostalgia privilege, so he still wins.
Taehyung - Quasimodo (the Hunchback of Notre Dame)
He loved that movie. Everything was so dramatic and well drawn, it was such an experience. But it did traumatise little Tae when he first watched it. He literally gasped and even screamed everytime something happened. Frollo was his worst nightmare. He was scared that he'd get snatched by that man. His parents watched it with him once, because even though it was scary, he loved it. They immediately shut the TV off when Esmeralda was on screen. He didn't understand why, but now he knows. She was "half naked" according to his mother.
Jeongguk - Copper (the Fox and the Hound)
Copper reminds him so much of Y/n, back when they were much, much smaller. And the whole story just feels relatable now. He relates to Tod, who had to part ways with his childhood best friend, and when he returned they barely even remember him. He cries every time he watches that movie.
Jennie - Megara (Hercules)
Jennie absolutely adores Disney movies. Her favourite movie as a child was Hercules. She thought it was so incredible. She always aspired to be like Meg, because she was just so cool! Despite what one might assume, she's not that much of a fan of the older Disney Princesses. Why should she wait for some wannabe Prince to come riding along? She's already rich! So if anything, she'll be her love's Prince Charming. Jennie loves watching Disney movies with Y/n. It's just so comforting and cute.
Jisoo - Cinderella (Cinderella)
Although Jisoo would never actually voice it, in her younger years she really wanted to be a Disney Princess. They're always so pretty and kind. They have wonderful singing voices and can talk to animals! The dresses they wear, their pet sidekicks and the dreamy Prince's. It was all so magical. Her favourite always was Cinderella. Jisoo just adored her silver gown and glass slippers. Often, she'd dream about her Prince Charming dancing with her in the castle gardens. But as she grew older, she realised that she would never be an actual Disney Princess. But at least she really did find her one true love.
RosĂŠ - Lady (Lady and the Tramp)
Our precious Rosie is a hopeless romantic and was absolutely enamoured with the pasta scene in Lady and the Tramp. She'd replay that scene hundreds of times because it was so adorable. The relationship between the two was so exciting and romantic. She loved Lady. Not only does she adore Cocker Spaniels but she also thought that Lady was so lovable. She always imagined herself experiencing a similar love story to theirs with her darling.
Lisa - Mulan (Mulan)
Truthfully, Lisa never cared much for Disney movies. She never really actively saw one, until the girls, Y/n and her had a sleepover. They watched Disney Princess movies. Most weren't that interesting to Lisa. Typical Princess falls in love with Prince plot. But Mulan caught her attention. Mulan was so badass, disguising as a guy to save her father and the entirety of China! During the movie Lisa was incredibly focused and would not let anyone speak, except Y/n occasionally. It's her absolute favourite!

How would all the Disney Villains react to each other’s movie? Would they laugh at Hook’s fear of the crocodile? By the way, I love your blog!!!! I love your imagine of the Disney Villains playing Among Us! It made me laugh many times!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😄😄😄😄😄😀😀😀😀😆😆😆❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Aw, thank you! This is gonna be in two parts cuz I want to include a lot of the villains
Disney Villains Meeting Each Other Part 1
Yes! Poor Cpt. Hook will never hear the end of it! And he’ll be cruelly teased of the fact that his enemy is a child and he can’t deal with a misbehaving child. Hook retaliates by stating that most of the Villain’s main enemy is a snot-nosed child or teenager, which enrages almost everyone because it’s true (Hades, Jafar, the Evil Queen, Yzma, Shere Khan, Queen of Hearts, Gantu).
I feel like maybe MAYBE Shere Khan and Scar would understand Hook’s fear of the crocodile because they themselves are lethal animals and know how dangerous it can be to come across one...Scar was ganged up on and killed by hyenas so there’s that… and Shere Khan has a fear of fire which is not ridiculous but others can say it is because they haven’t experienced it as he did...The felines would understand but will still tease him about the crocodile
Hades learns more about Jafar’s plan and gives pointers, which Jafar rejects because Hades’ style is not his style PLUS Jafar didn’t ask for advice!
Some respect does go around for the Villains who almost reached their goal or actually reached it but the hero/heroine foiled it in the end: Jafar did become sultan, Rourke was almost home free, Scar became king of the pride lands for a long time, Clayton did capture gorillas and seized a ship, Mother Gothel kept Rapunzel locked for 18 years,Yzma was ruler for a little bit - although Frollo didn’t reach his goal he caused serious damage to France and Notre Dame so he gets points for that
Shan Yu is talked smack by Gaston, calling him out for getting his army killed by a girl and then getting killed by that same girl. Shan Yu disregards him because he’s not gonna waste any breath on this foolish brute and personally, I have a headcanon Shan Yu respects Mulan because she kicked ass real good and he respects a warrior who can face against him and actually win
Oogie Boogie is also talked smack because he never had an actual plan, he was thinking more with his stomach, and the way he was defeated was so easy. He attacks back by saying at least his henchman actually fear him and did their job in carrying out his orders, unlike others who can’t follow orders (point to Kronk, Jasper, Horace, Pain, and Panic) and others who hardly act as henchmen and more as pets (Flotsam, Jetsam, Diablo, Iago).
Jafar bites back saying, “They still did more work than you and they’ve shown to be more sadistic for mere children compared to your old sack of bugs you call a body.”
Cruella realizes Clayton’s potential and tries to recruit Clayton so he can get her the puppies’ furs but Clayton declines her because he is not going after some magging mutts. That’s an insult to his profession as a hunter and his credit. She tries to bribe him but he still declines. He admits to being the same kind of monster as her for they both use cruelty against animals but they are on different levels. Cruella insults his yellow mustard clothing and hopes he rots in the jungle
Basically, everyone critiques each other’s evil plots and calls out each other’s failures.
Maleficent laughs at them, asking specifically for their movie titles instead of their hero’s/heroine's movie title. Everyone pauses and stares at her.
Hades scoffs, “Sorry babe, not all of us have the luxury of having our own movies but you’re just the same and dramatic as us. You cursed a baby when you could have just gone for the kill, just putting it out there.”

So, anything on the coding within the general aesthetic of cartoon design? The article on Aladdin mentioned how him and Jasmine had more eurocentric features but I'm sure there are far more examples with the Disney style.
Thank you for sending this in!
I am slightly confused about what you are asking. Is it about racial coding in Disney (which is too wide a topic)? About specific characters like Jasmine? About specific character types like heroines & villains? So do not hesitate to get back to me.
I stuck with the characters I was most familiar with.
In general, the heroes & heroines of color are more conventionally attractive with Eurocentric features whereas the rest of their communities, including the villain, are racialised through their appearance (darker skin tones, exaggerated features, facial hair etc) and accents.
                                                             xxxx
“It is painfully obvious that the protagonists – Jasmine, Aladdin, and the Genie – are not. Their features are decidedly white/ European. The others have large noses, sinister eyes, and violence on the mind. Aladdin and Jasmine have none of these. They are dark-haired Ken and Barbie”
Staninger, Christiane. “Chapter 5: Disney’s Magic Carpet Ride: Aladdin and Women in Islam.” The emperor’s old groove: decolonizing Disney’s MagicKingdom. Ed. Brenda Ayres. New York: Peter Lang Pub Incorporated, 2003. pp. 65-77.
Aladdin modeled after Tom Cruise and M.C Hammer: By sexualizing the Aladdin character and transferring the despicable qualities of the magician to the villain Jafar, the stage was set for a plot which offered something for everyone: a sexy hero with a love interest and a Machiavellian miscreant who combined the worst straits of two real-life Arabs: the Ayatollah Khomeini and Saddam Hussein
Although Disney went so far as to tinge the skin tones of Aladdin and Jasmine with a lighter ocher, it deepened the shade of Jafar’s skin. Likewise, it distinguished between the “good” characters and the “bad” by giving the former American accents and the latter clipped British or vaguely foreign intonations.
All the bad guys have beards and large, bulbous noses, sinister eyes and heavy accents, and they’re wielding swords constantly. Aladdin doesn’t have a big nose; he has a small nose. He doesn’t have a beard or a turban. He doesn’t have an accent. What makes him nice is they’ve given him this American character. They’ve done everything but put him into a suit and a tie (Washington post, 10/01/93, Yousef Salem)
Jafar, like Hussein, is mustachioed, dark skinned, turbaned and robed silhouette from the Khomeini and “the fictional villain is a devious plotter and untrustworthy ally who pretends loyalty to his benevolent master while scheming to seize his possessions. It was this personification of Hussein-the-betrayer that was beamed from satellite dishes around the world in 1990-91
Macleod, Dianne Sachko. “Chapter 13: The Politics of Vision: Disney, Aladdin, and the Gulf War.” The emperor’s old groove: decolonizing Disney’s Magic Kingdom. Ed. Brenda Ayres. New York: Peter Lang Pub Incorporated, 2003. pp.179-192.
The Arab woman is often represented as light-skinned and in various states of undress while men are dark-skinned and viciously violent in works such as The Death of Sardanapalus by Delacroix and The Turkish Bath by Ingres.
Jafar is coded as “Arabic” with darker skin, a crooked nose and slimy mannerisms while Jasmine is more Americanized while still clearly remaining Agrabian (Booker 55). She has an American accent and yearns for true love and freedom from an oppressive regime while being disconnected from her faith: she is made palatable and relatable to Western audiences (Nadel 191). Jasmine belongs to and is disengaged from a land overrun by polygamy, harem girls and belly dancers.
Yours truly, The sexualization of women of color in WaltDisney’s Aladdin, Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre-Dame
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another example is Pocahontas, who stands out from her community with her looks and sexualisation.
film’s supervising animator Glen Keane was told “to make [Pocahontas] the finest creature the human race has to offer” (Kim 24).
All her features, including her arresting physique, are derived from Keane “concoct[ing] a heroine that John Smith, or any man, animated or otherwise, might love” (“The Making of Pocahontas”). Her body is an amalgamation of features cherry-picked from different ethnic groups to form the ultimate human being. Keane drew inspiration from “Irene Bedard, the American Indian actor who provides Pocahontas’s voice, American Indian consultant to the film Shirley “Little Dove” Custalow McGowan, Filipino model Dyna Taylor, black supermodel Naomi Campbell, and white supermodels Kate Moss and Christy Turlington” (Edgerton & Jackson 95).
WDC’s Pocahontas was thus given high cheekbones, full lips, feline eyes, a sensuous gait and an erotic body. Her body did not go unnoticed: she was described as a “babe” ” by John Smith’s voice actor Mel Gibson (Sardar17), “lusciously sexual” (Rudnick 67) and an “animated Playboy playmate”(Sharkey 1). Pocahontas needed to be otherworldly to logically captivate the audience and John Smith. Her extreme beautification arguably counterbalances her ethnicity (Buscombe 35). The latter seems to be considered a visual drawback that has to be compensated with increased sex appeal.
Me, The sexualization of women of color in Walt Disney’s Aladdin, Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre-Dame
Pocahontas is “an anachronistic image composed of “aesthetically-pleasing” body parts drawn from American Indian, African American, Asian American, and Caucasian models”
Jeffrey Katzenberg charged Keane with creating a Pocahontas that would be “the finest creature the human race has to offer” (qtd. in Kim 23)”. Disney’s Pocahontas is not American Indian; she is a member of the more universal “human race.”Her long, angular facial structure, pert nose, almond-shaped eyes, and flowing waist-length hair – which constantly billows around her and is parted on one side with an artful supermodel flip – differentiate her from the other American Indian women in the film, who are pictured with larger eyes and noses, more rounded faces, their hair either in bangs or long and parted in the middle.
Indeed, in making what has been trumpeted as their first multiethnic heroine, Disney, as I will argue in the final section of this essay, collapses all non-white ethnicities onto her body in order to make her a spokesmodel for a reductive version of multiculturalism, one in which the visual marker of brownness stands in for cultural diversity.
Strikingly, in addition to screening footage of supermodels, Keane went to books on classical Western beauty so that he could “concoct a heroine that John Smith, or any man, animated or otherwise, might love” (qtd. in Making). This comment suggests, from the point of view of the Anglicized male gaze, that Pocahontas’s beauty must overcome her race – her status as a “savage,” as a racial Other.
Pocahontas’s first scene of its heroine is a highly eroticized one. As shematerializes through the mist of the waterfall, the film’s action halts as the camera gazes, simulating what Mary Louise Pratt has theorized as the imperialor pale male gaze. With her long black hair swirling behind her, her Indianprincess costume cut high in the thigh, hanging from one shoulder, and hervoluptuous figure, Pocahontas stands as a icon of Western standards ofexoticized female beauty. As Gertrude Custalow, a member of the Powhatan tribe, noted in a 1995 interview about the film, “The real Pocahontas was achild, not a voluptuous woman. And one thing’s for sure – she didn’t own anuplift bra” (qtd. in Tillotson C8). Her body signifies as a racialized sexualobject on the screen, a “brown-skinned Barbie doll,” a multiethnic, to use Mel Gibson’s term, “babe” (qtd. in Tillotson C8).

The film eroticizes and fetishizes Pocahontas. She is an exotic creature capable of jumping off three hundred foot waterfalls, of conjuring up magical winds thatgive humans the ability to fly, and of painting “will all the colors of the wind.” Disney constructs Pocahontas as a mystical, mist-shrouded object of desire for the heterosexual white colonizer Smith. The film endows her female body with the largest chest, the smallest feet and waist, the biggest almond-shaped eyes, and the longest hair of any character in the movie. Colonial narrative logic dictates that colonizers must protect women from barbaric men; thus, the discourse objectifies women in the name of genocide.

Esmeralda, where she is dark-skinned but again is exponentially more attractive than her community.
The Disney film shows a sexually appealing Esmeralda as well, despite its family-friendly target audience. Others have noted the increased sexualization and exoticization of Disney heroines, particularly of ethnic female characters, and culmination with Esmeralda. Her dress in the Disney cartoon has been called “the epitome of the exotic/sexual” and suggestive of her ethnicity. Her flirty dancing concludes with spinning around a pole, a daring move for Disney and a most explicit sexual reprtation. The heroine is also a clear object of the male gaze (Frollo’s, Phoebus’, Quasimodo’s) as suggested by intentional shots and acting techniques.

The costuming in The Hunchback of Notre Dame offers what may be the epitome of the exotic/sexual. Esmeralda, the gypsy dancer, is also attired in dresses that reflect a stereotype of her ethnic background. These costumes, like those of her two predecessors, bare her shoulders. Hers, however, also offers a plunging bust line that emphasizes the cleavage. Additionally, her dance costume is drawn with a skin-tight look that reveals the “cut” of her abdomen and her tiny waist.

WDC’s Esmeralda is modeled after the romantic Bohemian. She is the only Romani inhabited by beauty, grace and sex appeal as the rest of her community are caricatured as “lazy, belligerent, vulgar, unwashed, and criminal” (Oprea 15). All the other Romani characters, including women, are unattractive with beaky noses, beady eyes, and unkempt bodies.

Fey would see Frollo being a cat. She views felines as being more of a refined creature (Compared to dogs). The have an air of class about them, much like how she views Frollo. But at the same time, they are skilled hunters. Just as he is a swilled swords man. But they do have a goofy side, while playing or on cat nip. Just how Claude has a little bit mischievous side (his cat nip is wine though).
