i've decided my ace pokemon in legends arceus are Sylveon and Hisui Zorua (who's name is Biscuit and my character just thinks is a 'weird dog') so no matter what teams i make i must have Sylveon and Biscuit

Finally finished my Pokemon Platinum Nuzlocke, but at what cost? o(-(

All of my pokemon survived through the Elite 4, but the Champion was where everything almost fell completely apart.

My beloved Cherrim- named Lyra- died ‘cause of a crit.

My beloved Gastrodon- named Oberon- died ‘cause of a crit.

My beloved Gengar- named Circinus- died ‘cause of a crit.

And my beloved Togekiss- named Galaxy- died ‘cause I needed to sac a pokemon in order to send out one of my other pokemon without having them get hurt in the turn. Also, they got critted to put more dirt into the wound.

The only survivors were my Infernape- named Supernova- and my Weavile- named Zosma.

So fuck Cynthia. I love her design and how just cool she is as a character, but fuck her.

Posion Frills is thought to be an ancient Gastrodon from before the Pokémon formed two geographically isolated groups. A certain book describes it as very calm and friendly, but its body releases potent poison when attacked.

every day i think about gastrodon and i think they deserve paradox versions as a treat. heavily inspired by my good good friend @catboy-cyrus's spear tooth which you should go look at. he also helped with the pokedex entry. i will also be drawing future paradox versions of my beloved funny slugs at some point

Prima (Roserade, female, Shiny)

My beloved Starter. I met her when I was 16!

I pamper her relentlessly. She has a battery-charged daylight lamp back in my hut in Hisui and I have never forgotten to buy new batteries once. She gets pruned every month so she can move freely. Just. Ahhh,,, I love her very much. She protects me from so many wild Mons. She's the best 💜

Nino (Flygon, male)

The stealthiest Bug I've ever met. He is so very neat and the best ambusher I have. He gets to free-fly every evening. I hope Palina has been looking after him alright in my absence...

Linux (common Arcanine, male)

My trusty partner in ingredient searching! Seriously, Linux probably remembers more about cooking than I do. He gets along great with Palina's pack, too - I'm at least very sure he's doing just fine.

Passenger (Galvantula, female)

This not-so-little-anymore buddy evolved during our travels through Route 6 yesterday! (Amongst others - I'll get to that in a moment.)

I got her from Boss Emmet and she lived in my pockets for half a week before I noticed her. She's surprisingly good at snapping me out of moods - and my battery buying has doubled because of her. Right now, I have to keep her in her ball more often than not - Ren has arachnophobia, after all.

Thera (Sylveon, female)

THERA MY BELOVED. My therapy Mon - hence the, uh, rather uncreative nickname, heh. Arc, she's the best. I buy her... a lot of treats. Probably too many. She deserves all of them for dealing with my,,, immense amount of psychological issues. The anxiety is just the start, really.

Annie (Mismagius, female)

For lack of access to Thera at the time, Annie ate my anxiety for several weeks, which... probably contributed to why she's a lot more chill than others of her evolutionary line. I... really hope she's okay, wherever she ended up when I got to Galar...

Jet (Altaria, male)

My first real flyer! Saved my ass during the Michina Incident. I sing together with him a lot. Or, I did.

Cymbal (Togepi, male)

The other member of our impromptu musical troupe! Baby. Literal baby. I hatched him from an egg. Oh arc, I hope he's okay...

Isle (Gastrodon West Sea, male)

Probably my most adventurous Mon, I found him lost in the wrong half of Sinnoh during my... roughly two months with the Chosen Kiddo. Always keeps his cool - in that he's always very enthusiastic about whenever we ended up. A bit annoying when we got lost, but... he's a sweetheart, really. Likes mud baths a LOT, much to my clothes' misfortune.

Hanabi (Cinderace, female)

Her and Kuroko are probably the quickest growing Mons I have... probably because I fed them EXP candies as treats. (Seriously. I got her a week ago at Level 5. It's a little insane.)

Hanabi likes dragging me around a lot - at least she's learned pretty quickly that she doesn't fit on my shoulders anymore... Much like Isle's positive nature, her enthusiasm keeps me grounded in the present.

Kuroko (Corviknight, female)

My second Flyer! Though I haven't used her as one just yet - she only evolved yesterday, after all. Much like Hanabi, she gets EXP candies as treats for good behaviour.

We met by way of her literally smacking into my face. She's great! A bit of an attention hog. I think Hanabi and her have developed a bit of a rivalry, actually. Despite that, they work together really well. I should test them out in a Double Battle sometime.

Conductor (Litwick, male)

The newest member of my (increasingly big) Pokémon team! I caught him during the Fire Gym mission, and he immediately reminded me of home, so he stayed.

I know better than to feed it too much of myself this time, so. Uh. I did something else which might have been just as bad of an idea.

sooo how many colors can gastrodons come in? whats ur fav. colors

they come in two color sets- Pink+brown w/ yellow (west sea) and green+blue w/ yellow (east sea) (One could argue they have four color sets if you include the shiny versions, but the shinies are almost the same as refular so I dont)

Beyond just the colors, west sea 'dons also have bulbous bumps on their back and two sets of horns, while east sea ones have frills and one set !!

Personallt I hope in future generations we get reigonal forms of them w/ different colors ^.^

jotting my thoughts on pokemon rejuv so far since im just finished battling hazuki.

likes:

hell yeah more utilization of double battle scenarios. those are my jam and butter i have so much fun calculating who's gonna target who and what the fuck should i go for. I'd like to thank my cinccino and weavile. fakeout helping hand combos so well with my tanky or fast sweeper pokemon.

the field options and crest system are cool as hell. its gen rlly creative and i had to get used to it and use my brain, it throws a wrench in usual pokemon play and style. it also lifts some underutilized pokemon! its manageable though. and the boss battles were gen rlly cool! rift pokemon my beloved. rlly hard in the beginning but i learned to cheese it eventually (curse + leech seed + whirlpool + toxic with corrosion)

the difficulty i think is spiked p well, its good enough that you aren't out of options, almost never, but you got to use your head around certain teams and foes. EV training is a MUST, luckily there are EV training centers. i hate IV hunting so i used the password for full 31 IVs all the way . you also need some basis of pokemon competitive i'd say.

speaking of passwords those are gen rlly nice to use, saves some time. i got a remote pc with me and that saves like 50% of the handling when preparing for a boss battle.

the aevian forms are so cool. my fav has been probably chandelure and leavanny so far but i just caught a feebas so who knows. i also have a gastrodon who's so silly i love that design

god the characters are so nice. i love the individuality of each character presented to the player, and you kind of got to twist one part to get to the other and know why the first part was twisted. that being said, if you asked who my favs are its adam ren and talon. silly dudes. but i also know i would EAT this up in my younger years a lot more. but even now i still adore them. found family is dear and nice, especially well done for a large cast jesus fuck

also worldbuilding. i don't want to say more but woah. good job.

iffy stuff:

i want to like venam and melia's relationship a lot more than i do now. i think its just uncertainty with their previous known age gap before the time skip? eh.

I'm. very confused about Risa's whole schtick. i don't want to say more than now because spoilers and all. but i think too much information got laid on with that arc that my brain exploded there. wish it was just a bit clarified or so . (also is she 18 or 21??????? the internet and the game confuse me. this matters because i have to know whether to sock dylan or not)

some of the sidequest lines are misleading. they say "go to [here]" and when i go there nothing happens. its only when i search up the issue online is when i find out that i have to do Something Else first. just wish it was more clarified or such? if that makes sense? its like someone told you to go to the field or smth but didn't say you had to talk to the lady at the building first.

honestly i think the story confusions i have now are going to wait until The End of this game because rn it isn't fully complete. i will wait as long as needed until everything releases before i can make a full assessment. like. this has so much work put into this game. for FREE. NOTHING OF COST. like holy shit i can wait forever and ever. i have 130+ hours into this game. i can't believe this is nothing of cost. so a positive note here in this category.

honestly ive seen a ton of critique towards this game, so i was sort of jumping around trying to assess how hard it was going to be and whether or not i would be actually interested. i'm delighted to say i am. key note: don't listen to reddit when they say "too edgy". i know my edgyness. i i also quite enjoy some of it. i think its a matter of taste.

if you try out this game do have. a lil handful of pokemon experience in terms of speed, sweeping, and tanks. i think some basic knowledge there would go a long way. then again i played normal mode, there is an easier mode if i remember. either way, get ready to strategize.

also rec me more games im almost caught up w everything pretty please i need something to occupy my brain.

my favourite water type would probably have to be Gastrodon. they’re cute, powerful, and a ground type! (ground types my beloved <3)

second favourite would have to be rapid strike Urshifu. my brother had one and it was a sweetheart.

cutest would be sobble. my fav of the Galar starters, I always thought if I’d started my journey there that would be the ‘mon I chose.
