I'm a bit late in posting this, but both fics for my submission to the reverse @go-minisode-minibang are done!

I drew this back in the early spring and I'm so excited that I finally get to share it. This was my first bang, and a reverse bang was great because I didn't feel like I needed to realize anyone's vision, I just made something I liked and put it out there and hoped other people liked it too! And they did! It was so fun to see what other people saw in my drawing and see it come to life in writing!

What appeared as a woman slid down the large rock and attempted to stand up, only to crash down on her trembling knees. Silver Screen Solace

It was my pleasure to write a minisode for the Good Omens Minisode Reverse Minibang (@go-minisode-minibang), inspired by this playful drawing from my artist, @ufofrommarss:

For anyone else in the fandom who might enjoy a bit of post-s2 hope and fluff right now, I'm happy to offer up this G-rated, 3,450-word story set in a historic movie theater near the bookshop.

Summary: After Aziraphale leaves for heaven at the end of season 2, Crowley goes to the movie theater seeking distraction and comfort. He finds unexpected layers of inspiration while watching Deadpool and Wolverine (featuring Madonna!), as their unlikely partnership blossoms during their quest to save their timeline. Memories of happier times with Aziraphale at this same theater inspire Crowley to try to fix his own timeline with a bit of time travel and James Bond.

1859 is a peculiar year. It is a stormy year in every way, and Aziraphale keeps sensing the presence of Crowley. He hadn't seen, much less perceived, the demon since that faithful night in Edinburgh some thirty years back. So, when he finally pinpoints the occult presence to an island in the midst of a great storm, Aziraphale goes out to save his demon. Crowley, meanwhile, isn't sure about his role in this gale.

Between a Pyramid and a Hard Place

I'm soooo excited to announce that my fic for Good Omens Minisode Minibang 2024 has been posted!!

For the reverse bang, I was paired with the wonderful @qwilanikan whose beautiful art felt like two pieces rolled into one!

I had an amazing time digging deep (pun intended) into the history of Egypt and the archaeology done there! So, if you love Egypt, the pyramids, Crowley, drunken shenanigans, or in depth character studies, you will love my fic!

Summary:

After the disaster that was St James Park, 1862, Crowley takes a drunken nap in a shipping crate, and wakes up in Egypt, 1905. Through a series of drunken mishaps, one including Howard Carter, Crowley finds himself stuck at the archaeological dig at the Great Pyramids of Giza, with orders from Hell to make trouble. But Crowley has other priorities, like nursing his loneliness and not thinking about Az, that insufferable angel. Trouble finds him anyway, as he wanders the pyramid on a night when it is all too willing to give up its secrets. The sands of time will not let him forget the past....or the future.

Excerpt:

“Uh,” Crowley said. “That is to say, I’d like to…staymhm in Eghyughpt,” he said into the cup’s rim, punctuating the statement with a deep gulp of the wine that he had already drank once. 

“Ah!” the Italian man only seemed to get more cheerful. “You are looking for a dig to join, that is it! You should talk to Reisner then. I am getting out of Egypt, as is good for these old bones, but you, you have the ambition of youth!”

Crowley’s eyebrows did a wiggle. A what-the-hell-are-you-on-about, I’m-obviously-middle-aged wiggle. The Italian did not notice the wiggle.

Aziraphale narrowed his eyes. “So, I take it the rumours about a red-headed demon tormenting Kent were false, then?”

Crowley snickered. “You do realize the English will call any pagan a demon, don’t you? By Óðinn, some would call any ginger a demon.” They looked off into the distance, but were soon caught by the raised eyebrow on the angel’s face. “What?” They barked at his bemused face.

“By Óðinn?” Aziraphale repeated, incredulously. “You’ve really gone native, haven’t you?”

866 CE, the city of York is attacked. Crowley is minding his own business among the Vikings, while Aziraphale is hiding among the English as a bowman. They meet in secret, trying to find an arrangement, when suddenly they are interrupted...

My dear writer @cassiecasyl and I, we have the great and vaguely stressful honour of publishing the very first fanfiction of this event!

As a reminder: last May, we artist had to submit an art piece revolving around the theme of Good Omens historical minisodes. Then all artists were anonymously paired with an author who would create a short story of at least 3k words based on said artwork!

Summary:

Norse!Crowley & Archer!Aziraphale - Minisode Minibang: another brand new story, by @the-bentley!

Swiftly, Crowley pivoted on one heel, his hand pulling out the long knife hidden away in his armour. He half-crouched on the grass, knife held high with his arm bent in a defensive position.

“Hello, Crowley.”

Aziraphale stood before him. His face registered a mild expression of mixed curiosity and alarm that Crowley appeared here unannounced. For his part, Crowley was just as curious and alarmed that Aziraphale walked among these doomed people.

“What are you doing here, angel?”

Aziraphale’s mouth twisted into an annoyed expression. “It’s been several centuries since we last saw each other, and that’s what you have to say to me?”

Crowley grabbed him up in a hug, planting his lips on Aziraphale’s for a long kiss as the wind blew around them. “You need to go,” he murmured. “The Vikings are coming.”

“I’m here to protect these people. I’ve helped train them to defend themselves.” Aziraphale touched his forehead to Crowley’s. “Leaving is not an option.”

“Angel…the Vikings’ll discorporate you. You don’t need that paperwork.” Crowley looked around. “Is there a warmer place we can talk in private?”
