The Gang+ Roadtrip Headcanons

(Unfinished and never going to be but I wanted to post what I have </3-)

Absolutely loves road trips, is packed days in advance, needs to see every tourist trap and truck stop:

Brett

Is PUMPED - he loves everything about road trips

Sitting in the passenger seat giving directions, driving and jamming with the music as loud as possible, sitting in the back and pointing out animals and funny signs

Very susceptible to billboards - if he’s driving he stops at every tourist attraction/interesting truck stop/sightseeing platform and loves it Every Time

Buys a souvenir from every state he goes through (but it’s always something Huge and Inconvenient to keep in the car, like a cowboy hat or a big ass sign that everyone tells him not to buy)

His road trip playlists are Elite - always classics, or a mix of everyone’s favorites so no one can complain too much

Glenn

Takes his kids on road trips !!! It kills his back but he loves taking them to historical monuments and whatnot

(Not relevant but he absolutely seems like the kind of man who Fucking Loves historical re-enactments ?? He’s out there I know it in my heart)

Everyone hates when he’s allowed to drive because he has terrible road rage and refuses to stop for bathroom breaks or food - not to make good time, but just because he likes The Power

But he’s also good at keeping himself awake so he’s usually the driver at night when the roads are empty

(He still manages to find the one other person on the road and gets cut off or something, curses them out and wakes everyone up-)

Andre

Big fan of terrible roadside attractions - shit like ugly dinosaur sculptures and giant household objects in the middle of nowhere

Loves ridiculous billboards, his camera roll is 90% billboard pictures after the trip

You might think he’s in charge of the snacks but you’d be WRONG

He Will Forget Them

Or only pack edibles and wait for everyone else to realize

Likes to get to the destination as fast as possible, groans every time the others ask to stop:

I headcanon she gets carsick super easily and hates the cramped feeling of having to sit near all of the bags/other people

So by the time the trip is over she is LAUNCHING herself out of the car

In the driver’s seat most of the time to avoid the worst of her carsickness (enjoys the added bonus of being able to threaten the others by withholding stops for snacks-)

Would probably enjoy it more if he could get out of the car </3

If he’s repaired and has some sort of disguise he actually really likes stopping at the little sightseeing spots (and some of the ridiculous tourist traps but he’ll never admit it)

Makes a snarky comment abt EVERY religious billboard he sees - is absolutely insufferable when going through rural areas

hello!! sorry it took me so long to reply but I have been heavily debating my answers. these were such good questions and it was so hard to decide!! but I feel like my answers are gonna bug you…

Hawthorne brother ranking: I CANT DO ITTT, I ACTUALLY PHYSICALLY CANTTT IM SOOOO SORRY

like genuinely love them all the same and I cannot choose, I had tried (hence why it took me so long to reply) but it was impossible 😔😔

I mean if you’re talking boyfriend wise: Grayson would be my first choice but I would not mind any of them, literally if they existed I’d be lucky to get a side glance

favourite character: you know what this is so difficult for me because it literally changes daily 😭😭 and it is so dependant on my mood but I’ll give you a top five

Gigi is my babyyyy, I love her to pieces!! she’s so bubbly and cute and sweet and I literally just want to hug her to death, but at the same time her character is so much deeper than that and she hides all of her pain. (and I’m a sucker for an emotionally traumatised character that’s trying to bottle everything up until they have to break).

okay this might get me hated on but I’m allowed to have my own opinion… I personally love love love Savannah… WAIT NO ONE KILL ME YET… I just think she’s such a girl boss, I love a strong independent woman who fights her own battles. also I love her pure confidence and how she also bottles her emotions in a more cutthroat way than Gigi, I love her coldness (I probably sound like a mentalist), idk I just love her and her intensity, it’s just so alluring!!

oh also tell me why nan Hawthorne is my literal idol?? idk I just love her. her energy is everything, she’s so cool 😭😭 idk I have an emotional attachment

I know I said five but we’re counting the Hawthorne brothers as a whole here (one whole split into quarters so it’s like 0.25 each). Grayson, Jameson, Xander and Nash are all spectacular in all different ways and I could sit here and book on why but I won’t bore you…

I know I literally just named half the characters in the book but overall if I had to give one answer I would have to say that Avery is my favourite character, call me predictable or clichè but I worship that woman and she’s such an amazing character

Least favourite character: this is the one I feel like I can give a straight answer on. I mean it’s the obvious E*e, Em*ly and Tob*as, like ew hate them.

I feel like we don’t get enough of Libby and Avery just being sisters, like I need more. me and my sister are super close and I want to see that in those two. they have so much potential, I know we get snippets but after the first two books it kind of fades a bit…

obviously I want to see Lyra and Avery become besties because I feel like they’d bounce off of each other, like they’re both super smart, both (practically) dating a Hawthorne brother and I think they’d have such a cool friendship

idkkk but I loved the Avery/Xander dynamic from the hawthorne legacy (I think that’s when those two bonded more, but I might be wrong) so more of that would be amazinggg

and I know this isn’t about Avery but honourable mentions bc I want to see more Gigi and Xander being plutonic besties and also more Gigi and Savannah moments. I would also LOVEEE more scenes of just the four Hawthorne brothers bc those are always hilarious and they just gel so well together.

the way I read this and already miss LBAF V (like I finished writing it only a month ago lmao) these kids have already grown so much WTF.

Also something I really like about LBAF is that it gives me a lot of space (literally - like room!) to explore so many different types of relationships and dynamics instead of just romantic ones - which has anyone been one of my main interests when writing a story. I love that I can explore sibling relationships - like the dynamic between Lance/Arthur is SOOO different, let's say, what exists between Antoine and his sister or Cami and Arjun and all of them exist in the same story and it's just sooooo fun to play around with that.

The heroes finally made to B3ville. Sick Chris stopped the car and parked it.

Sick Chris: Well here we are, B3 ville.

B3 PonyCentral turned to the tv beside her and turned it on to play the tape. Sick Boyfriend, Sick Girlfriend and Bubble Soda were shocked to see Layla who was wearing a hoodie being caught on tape. It seems that Layla changed her hair color so people wouldn’t recognize her and she had stole nail polish, body wash soap, lipstick, two knives, a syringe and some snacks.

Sick BF: Oh my god, she changed her hair?

B3 PC: Yep and stolen some items without paying and I also saw a white van outside.

Bubble soda: A kidnapper’s vehicle: White van.

Sick BF: And those items she stolen: what was she going to do with those?

Sick GF: Oh god….you don’t think they’re….

Sick Boyfriend and Sick Girlfriend thought about what Layla was going to do with those items she stolen: They thought and panicked that Layla and Fanzo were use the knives to kill Drugfriend and Penelope or Layla was gonna to use them to kill only Drugfriend and groom Penelope.

Sick BF: Oh god, they’re gonna kill Drugfriend and Penelope with those knives!!!!😫

Sick GF: And Layla is going to groom Penelope and kill them after!!!!😫

They all went inside the car and started to drive off of B3 Ville.

The car was driving crazy and then suddenly, *BAM* it crashes into a tree. Luckily, Everyone didn’t get injured.

Sick GF: Holy shit, that was close.

A Brief History of Crime

That time of the week, folks, when I've watched the episode a couple of times and I'm ready to talk about it 😌

We got some more possible background information about Beau, and I love that. The scene with Ivan, it makes me think that probably his brother or possibly his old partner, made a sacrifice or got hurt to protect Beau during whatever it was that led to his retirement 🧐😔💔😭 And I'd be remiss if I didn't say that there aren't enough words or praise in the world to do justice to his talent and hardwork, but I'm going to say it anyway, Jensen absolutely knocked it out of the park in the scene while stopping Ivan and talking about "Gil". It's so subtle that there's a deeper meaning there, but somehow he finds that line every time, making it subtle enough to feel real, to only make sense completely much later, but still effective enough to drive the point home, still obvious enough that it can't be missed.

It was cute how Beau's cowboy coat had elbow patches 🥺💟 And I thought there would be one cowboy hat, we got two 💯💯👌🏻🤠 I love that for Beau, but I also love that for Jensen! Also, red/maroon outfits two episodes in a row? 🥰😍❣💯 And his hair looked so cute all episode (me after every episode: his hair 🥺🥰! But also, his everything 😂✊🏻)

Poor Jenny, everyone keeps leaving her, or picking other things or people over her, and I just- 😭💔 It's just not okay. I can't believe that Gigi tipped off Ivan, sending a crazed with grief, armed man, into a situation that her daughter was in, just to steal from said daughter 😡 Katheryn absolutely nailed it 💯 Especially Jenny in the car and in her kitchen in that ending scene 😭😭💔💔 She's so heartbroken and sad, rightfully so, and it's visceral and palpable. I think someone, uhm, a certain green-eyed sheriff mayhaps, needs to be there for her, and console and comfort her 😭💔 Here's to hoping we get some scenes of him checking up on her, making sure she's okay, being a shoulder to lean on next episode.

Speaking of which, so many nice Beau and Jenny moments! They're so in sync he didn't even have to look to give her his hand, I- 💘💕🥺💯💅🏻 Him saying he can't leave because "You'd miss me too much." 🥰🥺💘💕✊🏻 Also "Let's just keep it professional, Hoyt, for now." For now, you say? 👀 One might understand that to mean things are about to get "unprofessional" later 😏 (and I, for one, am here for it 💕) When she said "He's not that cute." And you can see that she's trying trying to convince herself 🥰😏👀💕

I've been waiting since we got the "there's a new sheriff dropping by" video to see why he was wearing a wedding ring in that clip, and I'm not disappointed. Going undercover as a married couple with Jenny was my top hope for it 👌🏻 The whole undercover op, a dream come true. Undercover AND married?! 💯 I like that this is the first scenario Jenny jumped to. And Beau's little smirk as Jenny explained their undercover story, where they're married..... 👀 But also, Beau's the one who suggested going undercover together, and there's not a whole bunch of different scenarios with an adult man and woman to be investing together, so really, who took them undercover as a married couple together? 🧐 Both? Both. Both is good. 😌✊🏻💕 And them being so touchy, I don't know, that isn't strictly necessary for the undercover, is it? 😏👀💕

Also, Jenny seemingly teasing Beau that he could go back to Texas, but actually only saying it to gauge if he plans to stay, because she wants him to (and wants to know if she might be able to let her walls down with him?) 🥺💕 Plus, I don't know, it kind of felt like Beau showed up at Dewell and Hoyt to get some insight about how to help Jenny and be there for her 🥺✊🏻 I like that Beau and Jenny have had this dynamic so far where they're skirting the boundaries, trying to come to a place where they get the other to let them in, pushing and pulling. It makes it more real and deep. But I'm ready for them to let each other in, be there for each other 🥺💕

Looks like Cormac is going to possibly have a dark streak.....? And how's that going to work out with whatever might happen with him and Cassie? Excited for that angst.

Cassie to the rescue again, helping stranded men with their trucks ✊🏻 Something tells me this time however, she's not going to be making a new bro though. Which, I do like that they're being very gung ho on her and Beau having a very "bros being bros" thing, because after everything that went down with Cody, I don't think realistically, Jenny and Cassie's friendship can afford another instance of having a love triangle like that.

I went into the episode thinking Emily couldn't possibly get any more annoying and obnoxious, and then the whole episode Emily was like, did someone say I couldn't get more annoying and obnoxious? Watch this.gif. Like, A, her continuing to get involved in things that she has no business is bad enough, now Avery too? And the knife thing is so over the top, after treating Beau like trash for two episodes and (the better part of the past year and more, presumably). Like, now she cares about her father? Yeah, sure, very believable, really feeling the love, definitely not too little, too late. And of course, she never could be bothered to even pick up his calls, but now she wants to call him, not to talk to him, not to let him know she's okay so he won't be worried, but to send him on her personal errands. Okay 🙄

Carla's going to be showing up soon, and we've seen the interviews about how there might be lingering feelings, but the last thing I want is for Beau to be running after Carla, a woman who already left him once, and humiliating himself like that. That's something I just don't want for him, regardless of everything else. So I'm really hoping that this storyline doesn't go down some reconciliation path, but rather him realizing that he's over her, and has just been holding on to some idea of the family he used to have. He deserves more than to be running after her. And there's clearly something between Beau and Jenny, where the natural progression is them getting together, AND let's just say if they hurt my girl Jenny, by having a man leave her, running after a different woman, a third time, that's just not okay on so many levels. And these two facts taken together, well, am I saying Beau and Jenny endgame solves all our problems? No, but it solves 98% of them (I still want a scene where Jenny has to be held back physically, preferably by Beau so she doesn't get in trouble, from decking Carla and/or Avery).

Walt might be a killer, but he's such a fun character to watch, I'm hoping to see more scenes with him soon. He did essentially kill Mark, but I'm not convinced he's the only danger lurking around those woods 😱👻

i do want to say, thank you thank you thank you 🥹❤️ i didn’t expect such a long reply … you’re so sweet and encouraging! i’ve been practicing my writing and i often look back to your reply when i do … you covered such a wide range of instances i struggle with when i write and your advice has been an integral part of my improvement. it’s difficult to finish my writing because i immediately try to strive for long one-shots or multi-chapters. the process is difficult especially when i begin to overthink the smallest details and struggle with the events in between to bridge my main ideas. i’m taking things step by step and have been practicing with short prompts and drabbles! it's quite fun and i try not to be so hard on myself when it comes to perfecting every little detail. i can’t wait to put your other advice into practice, but before i go ahead and do that, i wanted to come back right on here quickly and thank you! wouldn’t be where i am without your help! sending you love and warmth! hope you’re well 🥰😊
