FOOL MASK (GITM BY @venomous-qwille)

Handbuilt porcelain with slip, overglaze, glaze, and gold lustre accents. Paint and lacquer detailing added post fire. Handsewn fool's cap and bells added post fire.

This mask is a part of a (loosely connected) mask series, all hand-built and fired using a range of different temperatures and techniques.

My favourite mask to date, Fool from Ghost in the Machine by the wonderful @venomous-qwille !! GITM is absolutely incredible and I cannot put into words eloquently how much I adore it and Fool so instead I made this mask! Hi!

My word was this mask a struggle to make. The mask itself is entirely one piece, and entirely porcelain!! That's right, those long thin rays are solid porcelain!! The eyes and tips of the blades are done in 22 carat gold lustre. All colouring save for the black and the satin sections of darker red on the face were done with only slips and underglazes. The red colour was correct without the paint, but I thought a contrast from the rest of the gloss would look nice :)

Made to scale, the mask measures 50.8x60.96cm without the hat, and 50.8x116.84cm with it! (20x24in without hat, 20x46in including hat). He is Large, but turned out absolutely lovely and I send my many many thanks to the kiln gods for producing him unscathed.

Sanii is from the GITM Au which belongs to @venomous-qwille !

This is my attempt at putting Fool GITM in doll form. I did mess around with the colors on the template to try and make it look more painterly, as I was very taken by the idea of Fool's face being lovingly hand-painted (realized halfway through there was no way in hell that a printer, with printer-typical color limitations, would be able to properly print each subtly different brushstroke, and decided to go on anyway, because the template deserved to be beautiful, too). GITM and Fool by @venomous-qwille

Fool-template-specific instructions: 1. Rays -- Usually when it comes to the cutting and folding regarding these templates, I make sure to have the fold lines as dotted and the cut lines as solid. This is not the case for Fool's rays. Please leave the rays attached to the white bits they are connected to. See below for a visual cutting guide (bright red lines are where you should cut). Along with this, it is quite difficult to put the rays on Fool all in one piece (especially when using cardstock, which I recommend for better doll durability). As such, I recommend cutting the rays in the sections depending on the part of his head you're sticking them to.

2. Legs -- The way the legs are made to be cut out is slightly different from that of the usual. In order to give Fool his iconic puffy pants (from the front), we had to borrow from the sides of his pants a little. Pictured below is a cutting guide (where to cut in red) on where you have to cut into the legs to achieve this look. Or don't, it's still Fool either way.

3. Arms -- I messed up on the arms (I didn't notice this until assembling the doll, which you can see through the arm that's bent outwards. Whoops) :') If cut as the guide tells you to (via dotted and solid lines), they will not bend the correctly. This is pretty easy to remedy. Pictured below is yet another cutting guide (red for where to cut, green for where NOT to cut), which allows for Fool's arms to bend as normal elbows would.

Otherwise, Fool is the same as usual. General advice for the small bits (if you're having trouble cutting them out) is to whip out a box cutter and a cutting board. Please feel free to ask for any further clarification as needed, and I hope you have a happy Fool-doll-making-time :)

The lines that inspired it:

gitm mermay 6: moonlight

For some reason, the first one to pop into my head was Ruin. here's the cutie pie.

The shape on the end of the dock let you know exactly who it was. “Ruin?”

Turning, the mer smiled, his two tone tail and body looking bright in the light of the full moon. “Oh, hello, friend. I came up to look at the moon. Would you like to join me?” His mismatched eyes were squinted happily at he looked at you, and you gladly sat beside him and were snuggled up instantly. “It’s always better to do things with someone nice.”

His lure draped softly down to the center of his back, light on the end soft and golden, while his ray spines flexed quietly with his breathing. The scars on his side were pale against the dark coloring on his left side, while the mark on his lower right tail was dark against the brighter red. He held you in the quiet night, both of you with eyes on the sky, watching the moon slowly rise and the stars twinkle.

After a moment, he asked, “Can you tell me the stories of the constellations again, my friend? It feels more real when we can see them now.”

Humming softly, you nodded, looking up and finding your first constellation, “Orion. He’s easy to find because of the three stars in a row that make up his belt. The story goes that he was a hunter so great that the Greek gods themselves were impressed. When he fell in battle to a massive scorpion, taking the beast with him, they put them both in the stars. The scorpion isn’t visible right now, but if we follow where Orion’s bow is pointing,” you move your finger and point, “We find Taurus, the bull. The reason the bull is there is because Zeus, the king of the gods, used the form of a bull to steal away a king’s daughter, and then courted her before having three sons together. He was so pleased with the outcome, he commemorated the incident in the stars.”

“But Zeus was married, yes?” Ruin asks, “Friend, married people shouldn’t be courting others, if I remember the rules correctly. And you’ve said many other names as being lovers of Zeus, so...why?”

You sigh a bit and lean your head on him, “Zeus was very unfaithful to his wife, Hera. And after she tried to punish him once and was defeated, she couldn’t direct her anger at him and thus directed it at the mortal partner and any children they had as a result of the affairs. Greek mythology is full of very unhealthy relationships in family and society.”

“ah, I see now. What a terrible man,” Ruin squeezed your hand, his lanky arms easily wrapped around enough to do so, “It’s so much easier just to talk things out with the people you like. I think so, at least. I like talking with you.”

“Same here, Ruin. You’re a wonderful person to talk with.” The creamy light of the moon crept slowly higher in the sky, the blue shadows casting on the dock like velvet backing on a picture frame. The funny thing was, despite enjoying conversations with Ruin, the silences were just as warming and secure, and you didn’t want to break this one right now.

Looking at the stars, Ruin finally asked after several minutes, “I always wondered how humans decided what to call us, our school, I mean. Celestials. What about us reminded them of the stars?”

“Your sun rays, for one,” his face was slightly blank, but a small furrow in his brow made you smile, “And the markings on your faces and tails, for another. The crescent shape in your face coloring is like the moon, and the glowing spots on some of your tails are like stars.”

A little giggle bubbled into the night, and he smiled so sweetly, “Of course. I suppose I just wanted to see if there was anything deeper to it.” He seemed about to continue, but his stomach growled and his rays pinned back in surprise, “O-oh. um...oops? I guess I have to go eat.”

His awkward laugh after made you laugh as well, and you gave him a good squeeze, “Go feed yourself, silly, and you’re welcome back anytime.”

Nuzzling into you one last time, Ruin let go and slipped off the dock, waving at you before sinking below the surface.

FIrst attempt at drawing clip.exe from GITM! I avoided designing him for a while cause there are a lot of elements I wanted to include that are difficult/pain in the ass to draw! Clip.exe is [REDACTED].

Ghost in the Machine AU is a DCAverse style AU set in the future, where an eccentric collector of Superstar Daycare memorabilia hoards the rarest and most elusive of treasures from the (long defunct) Fazbear Entertainment Company: the Daycare Attendant animatronic line. The story of the AU follows this motley group of DCA animatronics brought together from all over the world, as they try and figure out what living looks like.

Meet Freakshow, a triple personalitied Animatronic from Australia

Freakshow was a Sun/Moon/Eclipse model that was shipped to a circus somewhere in Queensland as a Freakshow attraction, given features such as an extendable neck as per the circuses requests for the design. However after a few years there, they had enough of the mistreatment and broke out of the Circus, causing several severe injuries. Now wandering the forests of Queensland.

Soon they were found in the rainforest of Mango hill, whom the residents refer to them as ‘The Long Neck’.

Personalities:

Solstice: the Sun personality, the most energetic and playful of the 3. Eyes are yellow and cyan

Maleficence: the Moon personality, very violent and the most aggressive of the 3. Eyes are Red

Comet: the Eclipse personality, the most empathetic and caring of the 3. Eyes are orange

Hello and welcome to a very silly list I decided to make this morning. It is now a full 12 hours later and my vision must be shared. 

Tom Cardy is fantastic, and even without this silly list, I do think y'all should check him out! But keep in mind, a lot of these songs are suggestive/NSFW for various reasons, so maybe put in some headphones first. 

Also, I make these silly suggestions, every single one of them, out of immense love for these characters, so if one seems mean… I am ragging on them. I am pulling on their rays in the playground or whatever. 

I love each and every one of them, scouts honor. And with that out of the way….

I love Clip.exe so so much it is unreal. He's a freak /endlessly affectionate. If i am feeling particularly silly with him, then i can offer a second for young, baby Clip: Monster Truck. Either way, I am kissing him.

Sanii: Hot Shit

He is. I would pay an inconceivable amount of money to see this. I want to see him performing this in a silly glittering red jacket to try and cheer Misuta up.

Nova: The Ballad of Smokin' Joe Rudeboy

This beautiful, perfect man. Important context: Fool is singing it, narrating our wonderful tale, and Nova is performing his ass off and having a blast. He is wearing a cowboy hat and yes, one of his rays is sticking through it. I love Nova. I am kissing him right on his face.

Noon: Artificial Intelligence

He would sing this song and you wouldn't even need to ask him to.

Can I picture him singing it? No. I will not pretend. There are certain lines, however, I absolutely can. He very nearly falls into the 'Didn't Wanna Leave Anybody Out' category, but I just. I needed to manifest this.

Sunspot: My Secret Shame

Oh darling Spot, it might very well be there's another song that fits you better, but imagining this one, which is so sweet and harmless but absolutely on point for something that WOULD be his shame, made me almost break down laughing at work.

Sandy is kind of riding the line between this category and the next, but like. I give him this one because I cannot wait to see what this little man has going on, and I really wonder what his life has been like! I just know there's trauma under that hat.

Sunflower & Sombra

I had to admit defeat with these two. I don't think there is one by Tom Cardy that fits Sunflower, but I know so little about her I... As for Sombra, I did have a joke one but later (right now) accepted I also know very little about him. I toss in my hat on these two, I have done my best. 😔

I also debated an extra song for Nova - and a particularly silly one for Sol - but I thought I should cut myself off before I lost myself completely in the sauce. I suppose it works out, since I ran out of video embeds (oops).
