Tetelestai
This word is what's translated as "completed" in John 19:28 and "It is finished" in John 19:30. These are the only times this word is used in the Bible, and it means that something is done, and done forever. It can't be undone, in the same way that if you complete a race you can't unrun it, or if you bake a cake you can't unbake it.
Tetelestai is also the word that was written on receipts in New Testament times to indicate that the amount owed was paid in full.
We don't have to bear the separation from God that our sin causes. We don't have to bear the punishment we so richly deserve. Jesus paid our debt. He took it all on himself because he loves us.
He is God, and he loves us.
(It boggles my mind to think about - I'm like David, sitting down and saying in complete bewilderment, "who am I, that you would do this?")
The forces of evil cannot undo what Jesus did on the cross. We cannot earn or add to what Jesus did on the cross.
Tetelestai.
It is finished.

Never let the thought that you’re not good enough for God because you sin sink in. This is a ploy by Satan to get you to avoid God. God loves you right now, at this very moment, and He’s ready to help you.
but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Note
i'm just now falling back into my faith, and I've just been really scared that Jesus doesn't love me.. like, since I avoided Him and His word for so long.. how can I fix this?
When anxiety tells us something different than the Word, we know it’s a lie. Jesus absolutely loves you, more than you could ever know. It’s not dependent on what you do. You are one of His creations. He loves you and is just happy to be reunited with you.
Christ died for you, no matter what you’ve done that you think would make him mad at you.
Romans 5:8: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”.
Also, we are not saved or loved by Jesus because of what we do (because of our works). We are saved and loved by Jesus because of God’s grace, because of what Jesus did for us.
Ephesians 2:8-10: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast."
More verses that show God is not the type to hold grudges:
1 John 1:5 (NIV): "This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all."
1 John 4:8 (NIV): "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."
Psalm 136:26 “Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever.” (Psalm 136:26) — forever!
God is just waiting to forgive us. Jesus paid the price. You can turn back to Christ anytime and confess your sins.
“1 John 1:9 (NIV): "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
Jesus loves you soooo much and wants to help you. Cry out to Him with a humble heart (like by acknowledging you wouldn’t exist without Him) and ask for His help with staying consistent in His word and help with following Him. You can ask him for help with absolutely anything. You can ask him for help with asking for help, or with prayer, etc.
love you!

It's Good Friday!
I've had this idea for a piece of art for a while now and finished it just in time. This Silver quote from '06 really stuck with me and I thought it made an interesting point.
Tumblr media
God made the ultimate decision to sacrifice His only Son to save the world.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
-- John 3:16
"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed." --‭ 1 Peter 2:24
"but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." --‭Romans 5:8
Happy Good Friday!

Romans 5: 1 - 11 + Testimony  | God Answer
Tonight night I was studying the book of Romans and its origin, where it was written, etc. Then, in a moment, I finish my study and come to Tumblr to save verses and things of anime I like. I see how this post has some content that bothers me because of a lot of things taken out of context. And there I was, angry at what it said, venting to my friend (I didn't respond to the post; I didn't think it was a good idea to get tangled up in internet discussions). So I go back to the post to take a screenshot and show it to her, and then I saw another post next to it.This one said 'Jesus died for them too'.
Tumblr media
AND THAT HIT ME RIGHT IN THE HEART! On the one hand, I really get uncomfortable with these kinds of debates, or any debate in general. I prefer to stay out of these as much as I can, but when there are things that outrage me, they outrage me. Especially when they are things out of context both historically and biblically, or especially the 'He only stayed dead three days' one. Yes, but he suffered a lot the previous ones, but he gave himself out of love. He gave himself because he loves us so much and we are his creation. He gave himself because he knows that there are many who have suffered and he wants to be their refuge. He gave Himself so that those hard-hearted, weak, stubborn, selfish (I include myself in the pack), depressive, and perverse would be redeemed in His name. Gosh; he even gave himself up for those who whipped and tortured him until he died. And I think this was somehow a lesson from God. Yes, there are people who think this way, but we have to pray for them for their conversion to Christianity. Moreover, so that they can change their hearts for the better and not for the worse. So instead of continuing to criticize them in my mind, I will pray that they will have an encounter with him and be transformed into a new creature. As happened to Saul, a persecutor of Christians, who became Paul, a Christian who gave his life for the love of Christ.
Romans 5: 1 - 11 NIV
Peace and Hope
5 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! 10 For if, while we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

He’s Saving Us All
MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK
=========================
+ Psalm 91:14 Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.
=========================
VERSE OF THE DAY
========================
1 Timothy 1:15 This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them all.
‭‭=========================
** SAY THIS BEFORE YOU READ; HERE’S SOME CHRISTIAN TRUTHS **
I AM FREE
I AM SAVED
I AM TRUSTING IN GOD
I AM LOVING
********************************
THOUGHTS:
=======================
We all have been lost before; we all have had that feeling of anxiety and panic come in, and it’s scary, whether we have been driving or maybe going on a hike or maybe in a big store you have never been in, or maybe you been lost spiritually and allowed life to change you, to push you far away from Christ. Christ knew exactly what we needed, which was him. We needed that peace, grace, and mercy; we needed a friend, and most of all, we needed a shepherd; a lot of us have lost our way, and we don’t know how to get back; we feel like we are the worst because we allow society to tell us what God will do and how he loves us , but God sent his son to earth to save us which is the lost.
Matthew 9:13 Then he added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.’ For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”
Jesus says this after having a run-in with one of the Pharisees: I desire to show mercy, and I am here for the sinner, not the ones who think they are righteous; we can think we are something or someone and really our heart isn’t in the right place. Jesus wants to save us and wants to show us how to get past whatever satan tries to tell us.
We have to stop trying to put on a happy face when we aren’t happy; we have to stop saying I’m okay and we’re not because Jesus said it right here. I came for the drug addict, the drunken, the prideful, the thief, the Holy Spirit is saying today, let Jesus save your soul if your soul isn’t right.
Matthew 20:28: even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Jesus didn’t come for people to serve him; he came back to serve and to pay the cost of everyone’s soul. It’s not a single soul Jesus won’t save; he climbed on the cross to release us from our worst pain, but we have to be able to release so he can free us! Jesus loves us so much, and it says it all over the Bible.
Romans 5:8 But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another
1 John 4:9 In this, the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him.
In the word of God shows that we are loved and nothing short of that, but we have to accept what he wants for us; we have to accept his love; a lot of us are lost, and we don’t know what we are doing anymore, but Jesus is saying if you come to me, I will take care of you. I will show you the way the truth and life.
Paul says in the other half of this verse, he said I was the worst; he is letting us know if Jesus can save me, if Jesus can bring me back to death to life he can save anyone! He came to free us and set the captives free. Jesus doesn’t have a list of people whom he only loves; he loves us all equally; unlike people, God can love everyone all at one time.
***Today, if you don’t know Jesus as your savior, come to him today. Do you think that Jesus is only for those who know him longer or a special group no? Jesus is for us all; he came to save us all from the road we are on. Are you ready to be saved? Are you ready to be free ?? Even if you have slipped and you haven’t prayed in awhile by or you haven’t been in his presence come back he’s waiting on you , don’t allow shame and others to tell you what God is speaking today ! God is speaking to you , allow him to show you his love today . ©Seer~ Prophetess Lee

All the Devil does is lie. He'll say: You're unloveable.
Everyone hates you.
Not worthy of life.
No one cares about you.
A burden.
Where the Devil lies God loves. He says:
Romans 5:8 - But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us
1 John 4:16 - So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him
1 John 4:19 - We love because he first loved us.
John 15:13 - Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
Ephesians 2:4-5 - But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved
Write down verses about God's love on index cards, sticky notes, etc., and carry them around. When these lies creep into your heart, take out your cards and read God's truths.

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬-‭11‬
Return to your Stronghold,
you prisoners of hope…

Those people
(by request, my homily from Sunday)
“You’re always talking about the love of God.”
That’s how the conversation started. It wasn’t a statement of fact. It was a complaint.
They were going to straighten me out. To give me the plan for what I should be talking about.
I needed to be talking about their issue, their cause. It’s not a bad one. In fact, it tracks with what the Church teaches.
But as they went on about what I needed to be doing – God faded into the background.
It was all about their issue, their cause.
Until they got to the people who didn’t support their cause. “People you know,” I was emphatically told.
Then the knives came out. And the labels.
The people who didn’t support their cause became “them.” The people who didn’t support their cause became “those people.”
And God? God was nowhere to be seen.
If you’ve ever wondered why I’m always talking about the love of God, this kind of thing is one of the reasons why.
Because the love of God isn’t a coat of New Testament paint. That love, as St. John tells us, is the very nature of God.
The love of God isn’t a nice idea. Or a passing sentiment, a warm glow that’s here for a moment and then gone.
The love of God is eternal and dynamic, the very force behind creation itself.
The love of God is ongoing and intimate.
As St. Paul tells us in the second reading, “God proves His love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.”
That love is the ground of our believing.
And, as we just heard in the Gospel, that love is first given to “those people.”
The thing is, “those people” are not just out there somewhere. “Those people” aren’t just members of some group. “Those people” aren’t just the ones who don’t see things our way.
Every one of us has “those people” in our lives. Every one of us has someone we’re hoping will change.
Maybe it’s a child who’s adrift or a family member who’s setting themselves up to fail. Maybe it’s a friend who’s not making good decisions or a loved one who’s struggling with addiction or mental illness. We’ve all got “those people” in our lives.
We’re hoping and praying for them, but right now – it doesn’t look like anything’s happening.
We’re believing for the best for them, but right now – it’s like they’re moving backwards.
When that’s all we’re seeing, it’s easy to get frustrated. To think, that’s just the way they are. To see them as stuck. To write them off as “those people.” Even though they’re our people.
But that’s not what they need. They don’t need our help finding faults, they know them all too well.
They need someone who will show them mercy, not judgment. Someone who will believe for them, even when they can’t believe for themselves. Someone who will meet them where they are, and who will love them too much to leave them there.
Someone who will wait for them.
That is the example that Jesus is showing us in today’s Gospel, with the woman at the well.
Their meeting is no accident. As St. John tells, Jesus “is tired from His journey” and “His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.”
Jesus could have gone with them. Instead, He sat down and chose to wait. For her.
Look who Jesus chose to wait for. She’s a Samaritan, part of a breakaway group that refused to worship at the Temple in Jerusalem. And that’s the nicest thing you could say about them. Long story short, good and godly Jews had nothing to do with Samaritans. The Samaritans are “those people.”
Then there’s her personal life. Five marriages. Five divorces. And now she’s living with number six. She is a train wreck. Even to the other Samaritans, she’s one of those “those people.”
This is someone who knows rejection all too well. This is someone who doesn’t think much of herself. This is someone who’s been beaten down by life. She is definitely one of “those people.”
And that exactly is who Jesus is waiting for.
Look what Jesus says to her.
If you know the culture of the first century, then you know what it really means. It’s why the disciples were amazed when they saw them talking.
Jesus asks her for water, but with a familiarity reserved only for close family members.
Jesus speaks with her as if He had known her all His life.
She’s one of “those people.” And Jesus is talking with her – like she was His sister.
But it’s not just how Jesus says it. It’s what Jesus says to her.
Jesus doesn’t pretend things are perfect, but Jesus doesn’t judge her either.
Jesus gets to the heart of the matter. But instead of beating her down, He lifts her up and shows her mercy.
Jesus doesn’t choose sides. For Jesus, there’s no such thing as “those people.”
That’s the example that Jesus gives us. That is how you and I are supposed to treat “those people.”
But if we’re honest, we’ve seen this one before. In our own lives.
How many times has God waited on us?
How many times has God waited on you and me when we were adrift or setting ourselves up to fail?
How many times has God waited on us when we weren’t making good decisions or we were struggling?
How many times have you and I been “those people?”
I don’t know about you, but I lost count years ago.
Today, let’s take a moment to thank God for all those times He waited on us. All those times when we gave Him every reason to say, “I am so done with you.” All those times when anyone else would have walked away.
All those times when God didn’t. When God showed us mercy, when God stayed and helped us pick up the pieces.
Then, let’s follow the example of Jesus. And answer God’s call to wait on someone else, someone who’s adrift, someone who’s not making good decisions.
Will you pray for them and encourage them? Will you show them mercy and let them know that you care? Will you love them?
Will you show them how God treats “those people?”

Ayo this is kinda weird but I need to spread the word. In the book of revelation, in the Bible, it says we cannot know the day or the hour that Jesus will return, but I does give us a few things that need to happen first.
The Euphrates river will dry up (has happened)
Evil will increase in the earth (I'd say it is)
The nations of the world will rise up against Israel (this one makes me think we've got a few years left)
And we'll all be under one world government (I think there are more but I don't know them)
If the rapture comes and you're not ready, you're gonna go to a not-so-good place I think you know the name of, and you don't have forever. You can't get to heaven instead by being a good person. Even one sub is too many. The one and only way to get there is through Jesus. He came to Earth as a human and died for our sins on a cross, then rose again three days later and defeated death. The only way for a human to get to heaven is by deciding to trust that that really happened, that Jesus was the son of God, to accept that you're a sinner, and to accept the free gift of life and heaven from God. I know I'm not the best with words, but God is God, so maybe he can use this post. Try a local church. There's a really good Bible app called youversion and a website called gotquestions that can answer any question about the Bible. And there's also something in the Bible called the Romans road:
Romans 3:23 'for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.'
Romans 5:8 'but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.'
Romans 6:23 'for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.'
Romans 8:1 'there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Romans 10:9 'that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.'
Please listen guys I don't want anybody to go to hell

Believe, Confess, Repent!
Confess and believe that the God of Israel is the one true God. Confess and believe that Jesus Christ is that God in human form. Confess and believe that Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life, and then willingly allowed Himself to be killed as a sacrifice for our sins. Confess and believe that Jesus was raised from the dead, and is now alive with God, and will someday return to judge and rule over the Earth.
Go to the Lord in prayer, and tell Him all of this from the heart. Confess your sins to Him. Ask Him to forgive you. Ask Him to save you. Swear loyalty to Him alone as your God, and renounce all other gods forever. Turn to God with your whole heart. Abandon your sins. Ask the Lord to help you turn from your sins, and to help you keep His commands.
If you have done this sincerely, you are saved.
John 1:1-4, 14
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men...14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth."
John 3:16
16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
Romans 3:21-25
"21-22 But now God has shown us a different way to heaven --not by “being good enough” and trying to keep his laws, but by a new way (though not new, really, for the Scriptures told about it long ago). Now God says he will accept and acquit us—declare us “not guilty”—if we trust Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, by coming to Christ, no matter who we are or what we have been like. 23 Yes, all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious ideal; 24 yet now God declares us “not guilty” of offending him if we trust in Jesus Christ, who in his kindness freely takes away our sins. 25 For God sent Christ Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to end all God’s anger against us. He used Christ’s blood and our faith as the means of saving us from his wrath."
Romans 5:8
"8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 6:23
"23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 10:9-13
"9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”"
