1. How many works do you have on AO3? 146! It would be a larger number if I hadn't deleted all of my Supernatural fics back in the day. There were at least 30 of those, maybe more...

2. What's your total AO3 word count?

913,163 - I'm hoping to hit a million soon!

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Batman, Superman, Justice League, Star Wars, Marvel

5. Do you respond to comments?

Not anymore :/ I have a really hard time keeping up with writing if I'm responding to comments. I hope my readers understand.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Hmm. Probably lonely town? Dick is getting de-fibbed in the alley by Bruce, and it's not clear if he's going to survive or not.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

here as I am is hilarious if you're into jealous!Clark. otherwise the weight (salmon ladder fic) always gets me.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Yep. Mostly on borderline, but on other fics too. I love how, as I've gotten better at writing, it's changed from "wow this sucks, your writing is awful" to "you suck because you chose to have [character] do this." Luckily I think most of the hate filters over here to Tumblr, where I can happily block and forget. These days, I mostly get people commenting about how I'm wrong about something. Wrong about something I researched and triple checked before posting...

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yep! All of them, I think? At least, I haven't balked at much yet. I'm not really into the excrement related ones, so I think that would be one of my no-go's.

10. Do you write crossovers?

Yep! bloodletting (Mandalorian/Star Wars and DC Crossover) and a few Marvel/DC crossovers.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yep, a few times. What I'm more pissed about is all of my textposts being monetized over on TikTok and IG. I could be making bank off of those, considering the reach. And several of them are basically mini-fics.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes! Tons. Check them out here. There's also some podfics and related works there.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Not really. I've made attempts but I'm really bad at it. I tend to write spur of the moment and follow my gut on where the conversation/action goes. Planning out a fic with a partner would do them a disservice, I think.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

I really love Superbat, but Codywan is right up there with it. Something about Cody being a loyal BAMF soldier and long-suffering big brother gets me.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?

My vampire AU. Not because I don't want to continue but I cannot decipher my notes as to what should happen next.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I'm very quick, I can type up a full draft in a few hours. I like natural, snappy dialogue and I think I'm good at it. I don't shy away from weird or uncomfortable situations. I'm comfortable with writing a lot of sex/etc.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I write too quickly, sometimes I get ahead of my plot. My dialogue and descriptions can sometimes be a little too bare, or I overcorrect and become too flowery. My fics take on the tone of whatever I'm thinking about at that time.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

If you're confident in your language abilities, go for it. If you're just plugging it into google translate, consider why you're doing that first. Is the addition of this new language actually something someone would say in that moment? Or are we just using it to signal to the audience that they speak another language? Is there a way to show this without telling? That being said, I love using Mando'a in my Star Wars fic, and I've studied it for a while now to be able to do so.

Supernatural

20. Favourite fic you've written?

Probably borderline or a sky of honey. Both took a ton out of me and I'm proud they're whole and standing on their own right now.

Hello, it's been a while, sadly I am writing this today to make a not so fun announcement.

As most of you are likely aware already, Automattic, thus Tumblr, is going to be partnering with AI companies, selling our art and data to be used as training for their shitty models.

While I haven't had the time to make a public stance about this topic here before, I want to clarify now that I do not condone the use of ANY of my content in AI. I have nothing but resentment for that garbage and hate how it's been slowly seeping into everything. I'd rather keep struggling through burnout forever than even once make use of this thing. Art means the world to me, and as frustrated as it can make me, this it not the way to remedy that. But I won't go into the full ins and outs about this now. The main point is none of my creation is to be made part of that. Ever.

So I have been thinking hard about this the past few days, ever since the original info was leaked that this would be happening. And I am sad to say that going forward I will not be posting new art or writing here anymore. Tumblr might have given us the option to opt-out, but already the fact that this wasn't the default setting is show enough that they cannot be trusted, and I do not wish to supply a platform with my art when they still very easily could go behind my back and sell it off to the machine. The fact they support that garbage to begin with is bad enough. Not to mention that I do not trust fucking OpenAI and Midjourney to ever even honor that setting. Yeah no.

And yes, I am aware my artwork has already been long scraped off google and what not simply because it's been posted on public profiles and crawlers have been all over that for over a year now. But in this case it's a matter of principle, the crawlers are blatant theft, they took what they were never allowed to, and Tumblr is currently putting out the message that if you keep posting here, you are basically consenting to have your creation taken away and misused. And that is not a stance I wish to humor in the slightest.

So as sad as I am about this... that's it. I don't think there is a point in deleting my already existing posts. Although I would still encourage everyone to save any of my artwork or writing you are particularly fond of, I am ok with people just downloading things to keep. Just don't reupload, monetize, or use it for AI, obviously, and don't claim as your own. Because there might still come a time I just nuke everything because of this garbage.

As for where to from now.... I don't know. Normally people plug their offsite accounts at this point. But I don't have anything worth plugging anymore. Deviantart was my old hub but the decline that's been happening there for literal years, plus several other issues, makes it so that I barely post there anymore, and I have no intention of giving it a full revival. I also have a furaffinity but I hardly post there either, but that's just because I don't quite vibe with the platform, not any issues with them directly. Tumblr really was the last place I really felt comfortable sharing the majority of my art, and now that's gone too. And while a friend has offered to get me on Pillowfort, which I might accept eventually, for now... I am just so fucking tired. I am exhausted of platforms having 0 respect for their userbase, of being driven out by one thing or another only for it to happen again in the next place.

I still have so much to say, to do, to share, so many stories yet untold, and if it wasn't for that bleeding burnout and depression I likely would have gotten far more done. But for now that's it, thank you to everyone who has supported me through the past few years and shared the passion and love for this fandom. I will still be around and the askbox is always open, but otherwise I will update you on when and if I have found a new place to setup camp.

Hello GmaKelly here to talk about WordPress Plug-ins. There are a gazillion Plug-ins that do all kinds of things automating this and that. These are the Plug-ins I'm currently using on this site. I'm this will need to be updated, possibly Monthly. So....... WordPress Plug-Ins - What are They? A WordPress plugin is a piece of software that adds new features or functionality to a WordPress website. Plug-Ins can do amazing things to and for your Website. There are plug-ins to do and automate pretty much everything you need to keep your Website functioning and accessible. All you have to do is Install and Activate. You use WordPress Plug-ins for: - SEO - Security - Social media integration - Forms - Ecommerce - Analytics - And much more! Plug-Ins I Currently Use: Keep in mind this site is still fairly new, so there may be more to add or maybe take away. We'll see what pans out and I'll keep you updated. This is a complete list of what I'm using today on this site. Nothing shady happening here, lol. I recommend these few Plug-Ins at the very least to get your site up and running with ease. My site is not a E-Commerce site so I don't have any monitization Plug-Ins. Other Plug-Ins Obviously, there are 1,000's more that I could sift thru and probably add or replace one here or there. There are other Plug-Ins that I would definitely use if the circumstance called for it. WooCommerce - Monetized sites. Comes with a whole suite of Plug-in for Social Media Platforms and all the necessary forms and pages you need for monitization. Facebook, Packing Slips, Storefronts, Carts, Paypal, etc. WordPress has many conveniences built into it including Landing Pages, WPForms, WPCodes, etc. As you know, I'm still learning, On the Job Training, and I'm still listening to every bit of advice and information I can get from Articles and Videos. If your part of a Program, it more than likely has a list of Plug-Ins they recommend, if not, they should have a Chat room where you can ask questions and get advice. Keep in Mind that not all Plug-Ins are Good Plug-Ins for Your Site A few months ago I installed a particular Plug-In, I honestly don't remember the name, but it lockced up my site. Thank God for the Best Site Support in history, it was fixed quickly. But still causes us to pause, and reminds us to review everything you do. Your Theme can cause a Plug-In to flip out. or the other way around. I installed a Plug-In that my Theme was not compatible with. Of course I didn't know that till I did it. So on the soft side: Mine was fixed within 30 minutes or less. So if you have good Site Support no Problem. Final Thoughts As with everything Online or in the world, research the plug-ins and/or consult an expert. Even with the best advice and research things can still go wrong, be sure to back up your site before making any major changes. To ensure device integrity and user privacy, all suspicious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins must be removed immediately upon detection. In summary, the presence of unwanted apps on devices can result in system infections, severe privacy issues, financial losses, and even identity theft. The collected data is monetized by being shared with and/or sold to third-parties. Information of interest includes: URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries typed, IP addresses/ geolocations, personally identifiable details, finance-related data, and so forth. What is more, most PUAs (regardless of type) have data tracking functionalities. These web searchers are rarely able to provide search results, so they redirect to Google, Yahoo, Bing, and other genuine search engines. When clicked on, the delivered adverts redirect to untrustworthy/dangerous webpages, and some can stealthily download/install software.īrowser hijackers modify browser settings to promote fake search engines. Adware-types run intrusive advertisement campaigns. Some of these applications can force-open unreliable and malicious websites. However, the schemes may proliferate trojans, ransomware, cryptocurrency miners, and other malware as well. Scams of this kind typically endorse fake anti-viruses, adware, browser hijackers, and other PUAs (Potentially Unwanted Applications). Therefore, installing the software promoted through such schemes can result in a wide variety of issues. It must be emphasized that the claims made by "Cleaner Update" are false. The scheme then requests the user to download a " free Cleaner app" in order to continue watching (online content) in " safe mode".

The text in the pop-up states that a new update for the visitor's cleaner software is available. When a website running the "Cleaner Update" scam is accessed, it presents visitors with a pop-up window that contains a brief message. It attempts to trick users into downloading/installing and/or purchasing dubious software by claiming that it is necessary to continue watching online content in "safe mode". The scheme is promoted on various deceptive websites.

I'll level with y'all on this—I've been focusing on my store a lot because I'm trying to find an additional source of income in the face of disability.

To the shock of no one, I'm a web designer by trade. My background lies in writing and art. It's not lost on me how much I can do with my skillset...but there's also not a lot I can do outside of it.

A few years ago, I started developing chronic soft tissue damage in my dominant hand due to daily computer-work for my job. This, combined with my rapidly-declining mental health due to the pandemic, forced me to move from full-time to contract with my current employer so I wouldn't completely destroy my body or my mind.

I'm blessed that I live in a state that with quality state health insurance. My living expenses are extremely low and I don't need to make a whole lot to squeak by.

However, I now live with a permanent physical limitation, which limits what I can do on a day-to-day basis. Because of this, I've started to look into setting up long-term investments. This includes literal economic investments like stocks and bonds, but also in projects that will sort of just...semi-run themselves after I put in the work needed to get them going.

Given my skillset, e-commerce is perfect for this.

Let me tell you all a little secret. Setting upon an online store and selling things is stupidly, ridiculously easy. It's even more ludicrously easy when you know how to use what I call "rich people tools"—the kind of online marketing solutions wholeass companies use to advertise and grow.

These tools run like a well-oiled machine. Everything about them is about minimizing effort while maximizing profit. Most so-called "social media," like twitter, facebook, and pinterest? They all integrate with these tools seamlessly, because the true purpose of these websites is to be marketing platforms for business owners, so they can deliver their ads directly to people's eyeballs in environments where their guards are down.

It's actually pretty fucking disgusting.

(I've always hated advertisements and the culture that surrounded them. It's why I don't try to push products too heavily here even though I know I can queue up a million reblogs for them. Knowing what I know now just makes me hate it all even more.)

But anyway, for the last month or so, I've been thrown into an ethical dilemma. I don't want to, and never wanted to, monetize Skald's Keep. Its purpose is to be a free website that competes against the monetization and commercialization of Heathenry.

But it's also supposed to be a trustworthy website. By having a store that clearly sells a plethora of direct-to-consumer products, it looks like I have ulterior motivations, and that's not what I'd call trustworthy.

And yet, I need a livelihood, and e-commerce is the strongest play I've got.

Fortunately, I think I figured out my own problem just by hashing things out here—I need to start my own business separate from Skald's Keep. An entirely different website altogether that's clearly just a store, one I can market to hell and back with the disgusting tools capitalism built for itself without sacrificing my intentions for Skald's Keep.

As for the current Skald's Keep store? I think it would be a BALLER idea to turn it into a hub for indie pagan publications—a place to feature all the devotionals, guides, and workbooks I see so many people here make but don't have one place to put 'em.

It would be stupidly easy too. The product entries can link off to whatever platform you're hosting your book on; lulu, amazon, etc. All you'll have to do is give me the link to your book, the image of the book cover, and the paragraph description, and I'll plug it all in. That way, I can showcase the work of the community without necessarily needing to "recommend" it for educational reasons. You'd basically just take advantage of my high-ranking results on google.

It will also create a library where people can easily find non-Folkish stuff, which takes money away from them and puts it in the hands of the average pagan.

Yes, I think this is the plan y'all. We will have our cake and eat it too.
