Broppy wedding hcs ❤️
Floyd is Branches Best man
Either Bridgett or Viva is Poppy’s Maid of Honor (I can’t decide 🥲)
Tiny Diamond is the ring bearer
King Peppy officiates the wedding
Floyd’s best man speech would have all his bros in TEARS
Poppy and Branches wedding vows would be love songs they wrote for each other 🥹
Branch wouldn’t want a huge wedding, he’d prefer a small wedding just with his close friends and family
Bruce would help cater the wedding
John Dory shows everyone Branches baby photos at the reception
Kismet would preform at the wedding

Why I Hate Reading The Comment Section in the Red Queen Wiki Fandom:
I remember a comment I read in Mare's Fandom Wiki page. They were criticising Mare for leaving Kilorn when he was badly injured in their tech town mission. Like EXCUSE ME!? She needed to go to Harbor Bay, but she STAYED long enough to make sure Kilorn is healed and deemed stabled.
ALSO, Cameron Cole is there by his side. Before they try to free the Reds in the tech towns. Mare KNEW Kilorn and Cameron had a thing going on.
So Mare, being a GOOD Girl BESTFRIEND THAT SHE IS BACKED AWAY and GAVE THOSE TWO LOVE BIRDS SOME WELL DESERVED SPACE.
Note to that particular commenter: You are free to dislike Mare, but don't make your dislike for her hinder your ability to read. Cause Mare Molly Barrow is not ALWAYS that rude, annoying and selfish character you loathed her to be.

Walking in Heels
⋆﹥━━━━━━━🎧━━━━━━━﹤⋆
“Alright, good day to everyone in Twisted Wonderland! I’m Yuu, Ramshackle Dorm’s Prefect and this broadcast’s host. It is currently…6:07, it would seem like we started the program a bit early today.” Yuu spoke into the mic, as upbeat music played in the background.
They looked over their shoulder to see Ace, Deuce, and Epel sitting behind them(Grim is on Yuu’s lap), all of them smiling encouragingly at their friend.
Yuu’s nervousness was reduced, even if it was just but a fraction, they’re still thankful for their friends’ support.
“As you may know, I’m here to give some advice to anyone who needs it; free of charge, of course! Unlike a certain merman I know.” Yuu muttered the last part, causing snorts and short laughs to be heard farther away from the mic.
“Anyways! It seems like quite a lot of you are already sending in e-mails, but we promise we’ll get to all of you later,” they scrolled through the monitor beside their mic. Yuu looked at the time.
06:09:27
“Our first phone call from you listeners will be coming in a few seconds. I’d bet we’ll be bombarded by calls when the clock strikes 6:10,” a light chuckled vibrated through Yuu’s throat.
“For the mean time, here’s some tea from NRC this week; the science club’s laboratory almost blew up this Thursday, they suspect it was because of the poisonous mushroom they found after the incident was resolved. How the mushroom got into the science club, let alone in a potion, is now something students are coming up with theories with. Most of these theories include a certain nature loving 3rd year.” Yuu told the listeners.
“Bet it was Jade-senpai.” Ace whispered in the background.
“Who else would it be?” Epel whispered back.
“But I don’t think anyone would have the bravery to go up to him and just ask.” Deuce shivered, remembering Jade’s terrifying smiled when he worked at Mostro Lounge after signing a contract.
“Oh, and per request of our dear,” Yuu’s eye twitched.
“Headmage, we urge you to ignore any news of an ancient magic chandelier breaking inside school grounds; we would like to confirm that anything of that sort has ever happened at NRC.” Yuu added.
“Oh, would you look at that! It’s 6:10AM, I’ll be answering phone calls now,” Yuu picked up their phone and turned it on, as the screen lit up they opened their contacts to see their number.
“You know the drill people: which ever call comes in first will be answered, if your signal isn’t all that good, we’ll be sure to get back to you after.” Yuu said.
“Now, here’s my number: 1989-9489” Yuu read out loud.
(This is a fake number; please don’t call)
After a mere few seconds, Yuu’s phone rang.
“Well that was quick,” Yuu said, immediately pressing ‘answer’ and putting the phone on speaker.
“Uhm…hello?” A timid voice said.
“Hello! This is Yuu from Unique Magic: Listen Up, what do you need advice for?” Yuu greeted.
“I…uhm- hello, I’m Altaire, and I like to cross dress for fun, but I find myself struggling to walk in heels, I just can’t seem to balance myself.” Altaire said.
“Ooooo~ cross dressing? As Pomefiore residents would say; Slay.” Yuu giggled.
“But in my personal experience, balance usually isn’t the problem in wearing heels, it’s the discomfort that makes balancing harder than it really is.” Yuu explained.
“So, to avoid discomfort, and misbalancing by extension, you should walk heel-first. Don’t put all the pressure on your toes and the balls of your feet.” Yuu said to Altaire.
“Will this work on 7-inch platform heels too?” Altaire asked.
“Damn, your wardrobe sounds more extravagant than mine,” Yuu laughed.
“But, usually with platform heels, they have platforms for your whole feet, not just your heel. So, usually platform heels wouldn’t feel like how tall they actually are, because the platform would usually be the height of half the heel itself. Not to mention most of the platform heels made for wearing are padded for comfort.” Yuu answered.
“Ohhhh, I see.” Altaire said, their smile bleeding into their words.
“Glad to be of service. Is that all?” Yuu asked.
“Yes, that’s all, thank you and goodbye!” Altaire said before hanging up.

Unorganized thoughts about the Kate/Edwina/Anthony storyline in Bridgerton
I'm going to say something weird but I think that what happened with Edwina in the 2nd Season of Bridgerton is what happened to Jacob in Twilight. The writers loved the "side character" so much that they decided to give them more space in the story but chose to do so by making a love triangle with the main characters and then dragging it for too long.
The way Kate and Anthony's "love story" started was surprising because it focused a lot on Anthony courting Edwina and at the moment when the love triangle storyline should have stopped and made it clear that "Kate was the one", the show went with a proposal from Anthony to Edwina.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If it weren't for the book, a lot of people wouldn't even have realized that Kate and Anthony were supposed to be endgame after that proposal scene. I know I had my doubts about who the endgame couple would be because I couldn't believe that they would go through with the wedding with another woman, in a romance. Especially if that woman is the MC's sister.
Marriage of convienience and slow burns are very common in romances . Anthony's lack of feelings for Edwina doesn't mean that Edwina and Anthony's story wasn't possible, so it wasn't inimaginable to think of them as the main couple. Queen Charlotte and King George storyline also started out like that.
All the codes used in Bridgerton Season, made out Edwina to be the main character, Kate only became the main character in the last 2 episodes.
Edwina got the Big dramatic proposal, with Anthony shocking everyone by declaring his love in front of everyone. It reminded me of another scene from a Shonda Rhimes show. I even made a post about it:
Tumblr media
Edwina got her Big wedding ceremony, sponsored by the Queen.
Anthony wasn't even the one who stopped the wedding, Edwina was. Anthony wanted to keep the wedding going. Edwina got to do her Big speech and she was the one who was brave enough to face the Queen and stop the wedding.
We only saw Anthony being horny for Kate, nothing about him screamed main character in those scenes.
And to have Anthony and Kate hook up on the day of Edwina wedding to Anthony...So tacky. Not very romance novel like.
I think the show would have been better if they had sticked to the storyline from the book, from what I've heard, there was no love triangle and Edwina was rooting for Kate and Anthony.
The truth is: Edwina & Anthony's relationship followed the classic romance steps, courting proposal, wedding but Kate & Anthony's didn't.
As much as I love Kate, if they really wanted to sell Kanthony as Endgame from the start, they should have ditched the emotional cheating and the love triangle with her own sister, and made her the main character.
We didn't even get a Kate and Anthony wedding scene....

Aspects of Rex's / Kid Math's character I really love
The thrilling sequel to my Becky / WordGirl character post, I guess
Tumblr media
WordGirl "plays" with her villains in a way that Kid Math just does. not. get. I love how single-minded he is and how he still doesn't pick up on that attitude despite multiple attempts to explain it to him. In his mind, superhero work is serious business...
He just straight-up crushes Two-Brains' ray gun between his palms with this smug look on his face.
Tumblr media
There is not an ounce of fear in his body... Always ready to get his hands dirty fighting crime.
He's constantly beaming and putting his hands on his hips. Service with a smile. The only service he provides is teaching times tables and kicking your butt.
That completely unnecessary spin he does when demonstrating how to add "a million plus a million."
WordGirl tries to call a time out on her battle with Two-Brains to talk to Kid Math and he just floats there with a dopey smile :) He doesn't really "get" calling time outs, but he's also a good boy who's ready to listen and chit-chat.
Got gushy and excited when he and WordGirl found out their planets are in the same solar system. Look at him.
Tumblr media
Will cheerfully help you with any math equation regardless of how simple it may be... He might be destructive, but he's not mean. He'd be such a kindhearted math tutor; doesn't make you feel bad. He loves numbers and wants everyone else to love them too. This boy is made of pudding and love. Could kill you in the streets; a cinnamon roll with your math sheets.
WordGirl's backstory is that she snuck aboard Huggy's spaceship and startled him into crash-landing on Earth. Kid Math's backstory is that he took a spaceship for a joy ride. Where did he get it? Can he legally drive? Do his parents know he's roaming space? He answers none of this, but he makes a point to imply he was goofing off slkdjf
The hand motions he makes while acting things out during stories... He makes driving motions, he makes stick-snapping motions; he's great. It really makes him feel like this very visual and emotive person which plays so well against the usual stereotypes of logical people (cold, harsh, rude)... He's a friendly guy who just also wants to piledrive you into the asphalt. Love that for him.
I love the little ways he kicks his feet... I love when he tucks one foot behind his other leg... I love his unique little body language quirks.
WordGirl tries to shoo Kid Math away by saying that Fair City "already has a superhero," while she's dressed as WordGirl, after already stating she's from Lexicon, while she is flying, after Kid Math interrupted "an epic battle between good and evil," and he REALLY looked her in the eye and asked who the superhero she's referring to is sdklfj. The glare she gives him leaves me chortling every time.
Tumblr media
"It's ME, you absolute coconut."
He's so brokenhearted when Becky doesn't respond enthusiastically to him showing up at school...
He can see through Becky's civilian disguise and it was so obvious to him that he thought it was a joke.
That one little fist pump he does when Becky's super exasperated with him and starts walking off... His excitement cannot be dampened.
Brags about raisins. That's just... such a weird trait. This child will brag about everything from his home planet to himself to snacks.
He just wants to be praised... Give him attention, plz.
Made a point of clarifying that he was still willing to fight Doctor Two-Brains "even though he has a number in his name" as though he assumed WordGirl would worry about that being a problem.
I feel like there's so much loaded in every line of dialogue... like how he specifically says "Is [Doctor Two-Brains] a villain who has a 'thing?'" which really drives home this idea that Kid Math came to Earth fully prepared for superhero duties; he constantly puts up this image of a guy who knows what he's doing even though it's blatantly obvious that he just bumbles into things and I love that.
He is SUCH a know-it-all but he's also, like. a child. And he's such an interesting foil for Tobey, who's a very emotional character. Tobey is a "hot and reactive" boy genius, Kid Math is a "cool and calculating" boy genius. They would drive each other up the wall, I think.
Tumblr media
You never see Rex get angry... He always holds his cool. He doesn't speak up when WordGirl consistently slam-dunks him to the floor. He just quietly picks himself up. He doesn't protest when she shoves him out of frame. He doesn't yell, complain, or break down. Even when he and WordGirl disagree, he'll ask for more information, clearly explain the reasoning behind his thoughts, or he'll switch topics. He's very young, but very non-confrontational... and you get the sense that he'd be proud of that if you told him so because he cares a lot about his image and he has such pride in being logical.
He makes one grumble while defending himself for falling for the "Look behind you" act ("it means there's something notable to see") but he just kinda lets Becky push him around... She's not truly being mean, she's just trying to help, and he just yields to her. She's his guide even though he insists that they're equals :) She's his mentor and friend.
There is so much trust in his heart even though he knows basically nothing about her except the fact that her home planet shares a solar system with his. He's so innocent... Not yet burned by the world.
Kid Math bumbles through his words a lot, but his heart and actions are always good-natured... Certified good boy...
He gushes so much over the idea of being adored... He wants love and recognition, your honor.
Tumblr media
His idea of showing WordGirl affection was to punch her, sdljkf... He taps her twice as though making sure she "gets it." She reacts strongly, looking like she's ready to slam dunk him again before the security alarm interrupts. At the end of the episode, WordGirl smiles and returns the gesture by elbowing him twice and I love that parallel. Tap tap.
I really like that moment where WordGirl and Kid Math both flinch and check in with each other after hearing the security alarm... It's such a good way to show that they both have the same powers and they're both trying to be on the same page even though she was literally in the process of yelling at him.
Okay this is less about Kid Math's character and more about the episode, but I LOVE how Kid Math ends up in a mousetrap / goop ray combo trap similar to the one WordGirl faced when fighting Two-Brains for the first time in "Squeaky's Machine." The scene explicitly draws attention to the fact that WordGirl is "too experienced" to fall for the early tricks she used to in her younger days, and it highlights Kid Math's inexperience by showing him falling for those tricks, and he's in the same trap... I just think that was a clever parallel.
I really like the dynamic of the ray gun scene where Two-Brains tries to explain Superheroes 101 to Kid Math and KM just sits there like:
Tumblr media
That painful delay where Kid Math is staring down a laser gun that will turn him into goop and it takes a very long moment for him to ask for help sdlkfj
The look of shock on his face combined with his little finger splay when he realizes that WordGirl actually DID save him... Slowly processing how close he just came to death, slowly processing what it's like to have someone there for him... Buddy system.
Tumblr media
(Also I think it's funny that the cage the henchmen put Kid Math in is smaller than the cage they put WordGirl in... He is little.)
He's constantly in the "on" number brain... He'll just scream "That's a prime number!" or "Two stores!" or mumble "You just said 16 words" or "That's a fraction!" and I think it's hilarious. He just really, really likes numbers... He is, undeniably, the Living Calculator.
I think it's funny that Kid Math's speed trail is glittery while WordGirl's isn't. I feel like she'd be jealous of his sparkles.
WordGirl tends to fly in squiggly motions but Kid Math flies in arcs... just a little detail that I think is cute. WordGirl is such a flighty, indecisive, back and forth person. Kid Math knows exactly who he is, what he wants, and where he's going.
WordGirl tries explaining why Kid Math needs to be careful and his immediate response is to accuse her of being manipulative... Rex, are you okay? Buddy, lower your emotional walls slkdjf
Okay but. Can we talk about that. Can we talk about how Rex was super hype to see WordGirl at school, he was SO READY to have a friend, but his worldview is so painfully black and white that he can't help calling her out on what he considers immoral behavior.
Rex sees nothing wrong with his destructive "You can't have crime if you don't have a city" ideas but he draws the line at lying. From Rex's POV, this is an episode about WordGirl pulling him from his straight and narrow Hexagonian lifestyle and into the morally gray zone. That's SO funny.
Double fist pump when he gets invited to WordGirl's house.
I cannot get over how perfect it is that he wears his superhero costume underneath his civilian clothes... I know Becky does that too but Rex is so blatant about it and it's such a good design choice. Everything about his outfit is a good design choice- I love how he's so similar to WordGirl but has his own unique style, from his eye mask to the way he flies. He's not just a re-skin of the existing hero... He's his own person with his own life, his own design. He's so good.
The progression of Kid Math's attitude from "Huh??" to "Uh-oh, I'm in trouble" in the different scenes when Becky pushes him off screen... He just looks so much more scared the second time... He knows he's disappointing her but he just doesn't understand why. Help him.
WordGirl gave Kid Math two "Let's talk about why this isn't okay" conversations about him blowing his cover and he still said "There's no reason not to tell everyone" skldjf. It's obvious he respects her and values her and wants to learn, but he also will just... Not Do That.
Rex resisting the idea of a secret identity so goshdang hard..... He absolutely doesn't want to be a "regular kid." Honestly fair.
Him...
Tumblr media
He's clearly very smart, including knowing the definitions to several words (which he can even define himself, which a lot of characters in this show don't do)... Tried testing a Lexiconian by quizzing her on a definition with the most smug face imaginable... His response to a Lexiconian named WordGirl correctly defining a word was "Not bad."
idk something about the way Rex specifically uses phrases like "get away" [to walk away from adults] and "give up" [to go home and eat dinner] is very... hm. The fact that he didn't know what "hint" means... Someone please teach this boy that it's okay to ask for help and that he doesn't need to run away; there is such an aura of Big Yikes energy around him...
Realized that WordGirl had a catchphrase, so he attempted one himself and it was just "MATH!"
And he looks so disgruntled when WordGirl brushes it off and tells him he'll figure out something better later sdklfj...
The cheerful way he waves at Two-Brains before their fight.
Rex attempts the secret identity thing and still messes up in every conceivable way. He's actually worse at maintaining a secret identity after WordGirl introduced him to the concept, which he TRIES to tell her by pointing out that for him, "it's easier to just be a superhero all the time," and... man idk.
There's so much we can say about WordGirl trying to force Kid Math to fit inside her superhero box when he clearly doesn't want to. She has this perfect ideal of "peaceful family life" and this separation of hero and civilian identities. She takes those things for granted because she's always had her family.
Rex is new to Earth. He doesn't have the luxury of parents who care about him, but she tries to push these ideas of "Eating dinner in peace" and "So you can sneak away and fight crime without anyone worrying about you" on him anyway...
Rex doesn't need to divide his life and put up a secret identity front. He already has no one worrying about him. He's new to this planet. He has nothing. No one. He doesn't want her lifestyle, but she doesn't try to work with him and help him find something that works for him - y'know, like how there are tons of villains who don't have secret identities and they live perfectly normal lives - and instead she just tries to stick Rex in the "you need a secret identity because I have one and I know best" box... Man, I love their dynamic so much. She has no idea she's playing with fireworks, that Rex could explode over this... He's just polite and sweet and good, even though he totally doesn't want her life and he totally disagrees. Ugh, I love him.
The way he clasps his hands during his one little "Sorry I helped a villain" apology...
Tumblr media
He's just so expressive with his hands; we love to see it.
Even though he clearly knows Two-Brains is the enemy, he still follows his instructions... He thrives on "being good."
WordGirl told Kid Math he needs to "build suspense for the audience" and his immediate reaction was to pretend he doesn't have arms. Then he played dead by flopping over, sticking out his tongue, and crossing his eyes. I love him so much.
Offered to get back inside the cage when he noticed WordGirl was glaring at him.
His random backflips... He's so playful...
I'm sorry I just find it funny that WordGirl basically told him to go to his room and chill out... She sent him to his spaceship sdfklj
WordGirl: "If the villains knew my secret identity, they would never leave me alone" -- Kid Math: /rolls eyes
LAUNCHES himself into a scene... just. Springs in. Top speed. His favorite way to enter a conversation.
"Hello there, Earth kids! I'm sure not Kid Math at all!! :) Boy, isn't it crazy that neither one of us is a superhero from the Planet Hexagon?? What are the odds?? :)" Who wrote this dialogue, it's my absolute favorite. He's a child. Rex is so incredibly smart, but he's also just Like That.
He just really loves floating... He'll babble to you and start floating in the air, slowly rotating upside-down. He'll sometimes just go up and then down again... He likes floating. We never see WordGirl doing that, so I love how there's another character with the power to fly and he uses it to, like... express himself. Just part of his body language.
He literally makes this face while talking about his plan to destroy the city and I love him so much slkdjf
Tumblr media
He even planned it out, right down to citing "amazing superpowers" as the reason that "No one would be able to stop them." Crying.
Seriously can we talk about the fact that Becky tried to stop him by saying "We can't destroy the city!" and in her mind it was obvious that she was talking about the moral reasons why they shouldn't do that, but Rex literally replied "Sure we can!" because he was only thinking about the logistics... it's so good. Show don't tell me that your alien is a product of his ultra-logical culture. Fantastic. No remarks.
His fantasy of tearing down the city includes him getting a high-five from WordGirl... Someone PLEASE give this boy healthy levels of attention; he wants to be someone's hero so badly.
WordGirl tried explaining that hurting people is wrong and he still wouldn't let the idea go, I canNOT with him... he's such a card.
Specifically, I need to emphasize that WordGirl checked in to make sure Rex was on the same page that mass destruction is wrong and he was like "Sure okay whatever" and then immediately got excited about... an alternate but equally destructive daydream. His little "Oooh!!" and the way he taps his finger against his lips kills me.
He's just such a playful little kid... He painted Violet's nose green for absolutely no reason... He's SO wild and dangerous and I love that, but he's kept in check by his innocent desire to be a playful little kid and I love that too.
Went to art class and painted... a math equation.
That shy little kick he does when Violet compliments him and he stuffs his hands in his hoodie pockets; he is SO weak for words of affirmation... Help him.
"Compliments make Earthlings feel good :) ... Which I am!! An Earthling! Not Kid Math!!"
Every little bit of his body language is SO GOOD...
Tumblr media
I like how Becky and Bob have only known Rex for three days and the moment he starts stuttering and hesitating while trying to come up with an excuse for where he was running off to, Bob just... facepalms and Becky winces; they have no faith in this kid slkdjf.
Kid Math thanks Two-Brains for giving him a compliment on his witty banter, then checks over his shoulder to see WordGirl's reaction... She gives him a thumbs up.
Tumblr media
All those little moments where he jolts and clutches his fists against his chest.
"Did you know about this?? >:/ " about something WordGirl could not possibly have known about.
Narrator presents two options and Kid Math says "I choose both." Can you even imagine arguing with the all-knowing voice in the sky.
Entire city is about to be turned into goop and Kid Math still stops WordGirl and wants to trade the hero task she gave him with one that he likes better... He's such a CHILD.
I like how we still saw him out and about in his superhero costume during "Time Out With Two-Brains..." just doing his own little thing. Living his best life, didn't give up his dreams.
Also he just has the best little background poses:
Tumblr media
After an entire episode of chasing love and adoration, he gets to hear the crowd cheer for him and he's so dang excited :) Good for him!!
Fully owns up to his mistakes, but also never apologizes for anything (apart from the minor suggestion he made to improve Two-Brains' plan...) Man, he is certainly one of the hero kids who has ever been. Disaster of a cinnamon roll.
Anyway I love him.

A Report Of Music Life’s 1976 Panel about Queen
Written by 走路带风的Mia (1) (2) (3) (4). Translated by me.
1976. After the second Japanese tour, Music Life held a special panel and invited several people who worked closely with the band during their visit to Japan to share all kinds of anecdotes about Queen. The panel was chaired by Kaoruko Togo. The attendees included the accompanying translator Kazuko Teramura, the head of security Hisao Itami, and Queen’s publicity person Masafumi Kato. The text version was published in the magazine's temporary supplement in 1976. I will not follow the original word by word. I will write as I go:
During this visit to Japan, apart from Freddie, several people bought parts for cameras and lenses. Brian and John are especially proficient in mechanics. Brian understands lenses better, and John is more familiar with tape recorders. Roger is responsible for asking them both about all kinds of things. Freddie: not interested in mechanical things whatsoever.
John was very excited during their visit at the Sony factory in Shinagawa. They have very good memory and even remembered the clerk of the camera shop they visited last year, and it seemed that the clerk also remembered them. On the second day in Japan, John first proposed to the translator Teramura that he wanted to go to the camera shop they visited last year. After going there, John found the clerk and asked him if he could give them the same discount as last year. Teramura emphasized that the discount is 30% off, which is a very good bargain, and there are several camera shops in the city. If they had not gone to the same shop they visited last time, they would not have gotten that discount. At the time, Roger also wanted to shop, and Brian was considering if he should get a fisheye lens. They went on to discuss various cameras, lenses, and prices.
When I read this passage, I thought to myself, no wonder John is the one in charge of business in the band. He remembers faces well and has a good memory. He must have better learning ability than the average person. Being able to remember details, he would easily have the upper hand in striking business deals, although he also could exhibit some confusing behaviour.
Tumblr media
After the show, the band would stay backstage for an hour or so, and they would talk about the day's performance on the way back. Everyone would express their opinions frankly and openly. From the perspective of the translator Teramura, sometimes it would amount to arguments, but at the end, the four would go back to normal. Teramura believes that although Roger is typically recognized as a rock star, it is surprising that he is very careful about his physical condition. He is always said to be fun-loving, but at a party, he ended up as the first one to leave.
It is difficult to organize everyone to leave for the next destination. For example, someone would be washing their hair right before leaving, and someone else would be taking their sweet time. Brian and John usually got ready quite early, and the latest always seemed to be Roger, who would take his time in his room, and sometimes he would forget his keys. John would put his luggage neatly aside, as if signalling some kind of determination, a look of eagerness to go home, muttering: I hope my kid hasn’t forgotten what I look like. Or repeating "I'm not homesick" while always saying "it’d be nice to go home, it‘d be nice to go home."
I'm curious: who is the one still washing their hair when it’s time to leave!
I have to say that there really are crazy fans at any point in time, although it also shows that Queen has always been very popular from the flip side. Brian is the kind of person who is obviously the most cordial and friendly, as well as gentle and pleasant. But he also has the most explosive temper that could be triggered by one single thing.
Speaking of this tour, the fans as a strong offensive were quite astonishing. At the airport, Brian was very excited in the face of crazy fans at first, but he was quickly provoked, as he was mobbed by the besieging fans in the aisle and lost one of his shoes in the process. After returning to the hotel from the airport, he was so angry that he gave up on the other shoe. The bodyguard Itami said with amusement: "He probably kicked it away." Later, a fan returned his shoes. At this point, he had regained his composure and thanked the other party.
Brian has an impatient temperament, and the translator Teramura said that once his fuse is lit, he would very quickly return to normal. After the performance, he went to the hotel bar. The bar would be open until 1:00am. It was about 1:15am or somewhere between 1:15 and 1:20am. He suggested that everyone should go for a beer together, but they were refused reception with the reason being the bar closes before 1:15am. Of course, the bar manager’s English choice of words was also very rude and especially condescending. Brian was so angry that he couldn't go out, that he yelled at the manager to get out. Later, in front of everyone, he explained that he was actually so ashamed of yelling just now that he wanted to cry, making himself sound very lowly and despicable.
But when he really couldn't tolerate something anymore, he would still explode. In the returning journey to Tokyo from Fukuoka, some fans called at 5 or 6 in the morning, and later even went to his door and rang the doorbell, which finally made Brian so furious that he kicked the door. Teramura said she was resting in the next room and was just wondering if something had happened. She happened to see Brian at breakfast the next day. When she asked him, she realized that Brian had rejected the fans several times. As a result, they went over, and all arrived at his door. In the end, he had to berate them as a last resort.
In addition, my guess is (I’m almost certain but I have no evidence), 80% chance that what Brian was wearing when he got off the plane were his clogs, and that’s why he so easily lost them being mobbed.

Masafumi Kato, in charge of publicity for Queen: "Freddie is very friendly and can be said to be the most adult-like, mature and cultivated, with the ability to be like a commander, and he really feels like a leader. He also seems a little bit vain.”
Bodyguard Kyuo Itami: "I was born in the same month as him (Freddie). I am a week younger, his birthday is on the 5th, and I'm on the 12th. I'm not in the circle, and I don't know what he is like as a musician. But in terms of personal contact, I feel like he's a lot more mature than me.
“In regards to him being a leader, his leadership as a musician is very good, and it feels like he always keeps himself in an optimal state. Others, such as Roger or John, are a little bit more open about their emotions, or would stay out very late. Only Freddie always seems like he makes sure to adjust himself in his own headspace.
“He had a masculine kind of tenderness and was very caring to us. I felt a camaraderie that goes beyond a work relationship in the second year [as Freddie's bodyguard]."
Kaoruko Togo: "So far we have come into contact with many rock musicians, but Queen still feels a little different. Among them, only Roger has the characteristics that rock musicians we are familiar with usually possess, and the other members, especially Freddie, stand out a lot. They’re an interesting band in that sense."
Some of my personal opinions: I did not choose to translate these paragraphs to promote the idea that Freddie was the leader of the band, but similar statements have been said in ML magazines plenty, especially during the first two Japanese tours, so I think it is a topic worth discussing. In fact, both the Japanese world and the English world have remarked on the equality and democracy in the band. All matters are always decided by the four of them, and that is a fact. Freddie himself has emphasized it many times. I remember clearly in an interview in Brazil in 1985 where he said "I'm not the leader, everyone says I'm the leader, but I'm just the lead singer". I think he does have strong leadership skills and coordination ability, or as the above passage discussed: he was the oldest and the most mature. He knew what he wanted from a young age, he was also good at motivating others to help him achieve his goals. In his interviews, when talking about his bandmates, as long as he was not joking, he undoubtedly fully showed his respect for his bandmates. I think he is a great cohesive force, a coordinator, a catalyst of charisma in the band. But a band is like a table; to be stable, all four legs have to be equal in length and strength.
Personal opinions are temporarily written here, and everyone is welcome to express their own opinions.

every variation of "Mede" i could find in my QT ebooks
My attempt to be less confused about the inconsistent demonyms and adjectives used for the empire and its inhabitants.
(tl;dr I was reading a fanfic set during QoA and found myself confused by the author using the term "Medean," because I couldn't remember it being in the books. So I searched my ebooks and found that the word only appears in QoA and ACoK. The words "Medea" and "Medean" never appear in Thick as Thieves, the book I had been referencing the most for my own fanfic. I made a list of all the terms used to describe the Medes to see if I could find any patterns or if this just seemed like a retcon).
The Thief
The magus uses Medes as a plural demonym: "The Medes have been trying for a hundred years to expand their empire to span the middle sea."
He also uses Mede as a noun as if it were the name of a country, in the same context as he uses the names of the countries of the Little Peninsula. He could be using this term as way to talk about the whole empire, or to refer to a particular region or country that gives the empire its name: "There will be no Sounis, no Attolia, no Eddis, only Mede."
Gen also uses Medes as a plural demonym a couple of times, both in a conversation with the magus and in his narration.
The Queen of Attolia
Irene's POV
The narration refers to the place Nahuseresh is from as the Mede Empire: "Beside her the ambassador from the Mede Empire shifted his weight and caught her attention."
The narration uses Mede as a singular demonym: "'Long enough,' suggested the Mede, 'to insure her Thief a relatively easy death?'"
Medea is also used as the name of the place Nahuseresh is from. It's unclear whether this is meant to refer to the whole empire, or a specific part of it: "Attolia didn’t particularly care for the new ambassador from Medea."
We also find Mede used as an adjective in reference to Nahuseresh: "Not at all, Nahuseresh," Attolia assured her Mede ambassador. "Not at all."
At other points, Medean is used as an adjective, both to describe aspects of the culture ("Medean style of dressing his beard") and to describe Nahuseresh: "She was on the verge of summoning her officers for a council of war when the Medean ambassador was announced."
Irene's narration only ever uses Medes for the plural demonym: "She would go to the Medes and worry later how to extricate herself from their assistance and how to explain to Nahuseresh that there hadn’t been room for him to accompany her."
There are a few uses of Mede as a demonym in Irene's POV where it's a little unclear whether it's meant to be singular or plural, but they're all ambiguous enough that I'm not going to use them as examples.
Gen and Helen's POV
Helen uses Medes as a plural demonym in chapter four: "'Attolia has no business treating with the Medes,'" she said, her voice raised."
At other points, Helen uses Mede as a plural demonym instead: "If she takes help from the Mede, if they land on this coast, they will eat us alive: Attolia, Sounis, and Eddis." Helen and Gen both continue to use this word as a plural throughout chapter seven.
In chapter eight, Gen appears to switch from Medes to plural Mede in the same paragraph: "I don’t have any desire to be overrun by the Medes...and we can’t have a civil war in Sounis for the Mede to step in and resolve, can we?" It's a little more ambiguous whether Mede is supposed to be singular or plural here, but I don't think it makes much sense for him to be talking about Nahuseresh or any other individual Mede in this context.
Helen also switches between Mede and Medean as adjectives: "the Medean ambassador" and "the Mede emperor."
The Magus
The magus first uses Mede as a singular demonym. Here he seems to be talking about Irene's relationship with one specific Mede (Nahuseresh), based on the pronouns: "By then she will be deeply enmeshed with the Mede, trying to hold some power in her own country. Neither of them will have time to squabble over Eddis. If you secure Eddis quickly, you will be strong enough to outface the Mede when he tries to expand beyond Attolia."
Then he uses Medes as a plural demonym: "'There’s little chance the Medes would lose their grip on Attolia within your lifetime, Your Majesty,' the magus said stiffly."
But later in the same scene, the narration appears to use Mede as the plural: "[The magus] hoped to use the knowledge he acquired in the exercise to aid him in a more successful defense against the Mede."
Nahuseresh
In one of the handful of Nahuseresh POV scenes, the narration uses Mede as a singular demonym: "'It will be close to the chasm of the pass,' the Mede had muttered, running his index finger across the carefully inked lines."
When Nahuseresh talks later in the same scene, he uses Mede as a plural demonym: "Her titular heir is not fond of the Mede, but he would not hold the throne long."
Basically, the narration and dialogue throughout The Queen of Attolia use "Mede" and "Medean" as adjectives seemingly interchangeably, with no pattern that I could discern. "Mede" is always the singular demonym, but many characters use "Mede" and "Medes" interchangeably for the plural demonym.
The King of Attolia
Things get a lot simpler after QoA; searching "Medea" and "Medean" brings back no results in my ebook of The King of Attolia, though the empire and its people are mentioned frequently:
Gen and Costis study the language of the Medes, which is always called Mede: "Costis. The word for death in Mede, I can’t remember it." I couldn't find examples in any of the books of the Mede language being referred to as "Medean."
Mede is the only version of the word used as an adjective in this book: "The king had chosen a Mede style of dress with a long, open coat over his shirt and tunic."
There is also no use of "Medes" as a plural demonym in KoA. The people of the empire are only ever referred to as the Mede: "She had driven the Mede off once, embarrassing their ambassador."
A Conspiracy of Kings
ACoK has one use of Medean as an adjective, the final appearance of this word in the series: "The Attolian furniture was pushed into the corners, and several replacement pieces of Medean design, small enough to have been shipped with the ambassador, had been put in their place." In every other instance, Mede is used ("the Mede ambassador," "the Mede emperor," "the Mede court").
Mede is the only singular demonym, but we return to switching between Mede and Medes for the plural: "I would not stand by and let them be lost to the Mede or to Melenze" vs. "He cannot stand the idea that Melenze wants Haptia back and thinks that the Medes are a better ally." However, Medes is used more often.
Overall, ACoK is less consistent than KoA but has less variation than QoA.
Thick as Thieves
Most of my Queen's Thief fanfics are set during Thick as Thieves and/or include Kamet as a major character, so this is the book I've revisited the most when double-checking canon details. For the purposes of my own fics, I decided to prioritize the terms used in TaT where they differ from other books. Luckily, TaT is pretty consistent (though not completely consistent):
The name of the primary language spoken in the empire is Mede: "He spoke Mede, but with a heavy accent, so he hadn’t been trained as a child."
The singular demonym is Mede: "I didn’t think he could carry off an impersonation of a Mede for very long."
The plural demonym is usually Medes: "The Medes fear little in quite the way they fear their own slaves."
However, there are a few uses of Mede as the plural demonym: "I was taken from my home as a child by raiders and then sold to the Mede."
The adjective form is Mede: "He was the one who pestered me to tell them a Mede story in Attolian."
Like KoA, "Medea" and "Medean" are entirely absent. There are also no uses of "Mede" as the name of a country or region; the place where the Medes live is only ever referred to as the Mede empire.
The Return of the Thief is pretty much the same as Thick as Thieves: "Medes" is the most common plural demonym, but "Mede" is occasionally plural. There's no sign of "Medea" or "Medean."
For simplicity's sake, I think I'm going to stick to plural "Medes" instead of "Mede" and adjective "Mede" instead of "Medean" in my own fics, but based on the books themselves none of these terms are really incorrect. I'm still not sure what I want to do with "Medea" as a place name - I don't think it makes a ton of sense to use it interchangeably with "Mede Empire," but we don't really have another name for the central region of the empire around the capital? I haven't made up my mind yet but I'm thinking about it.
What, ultimately, is the point of this post? I'm honestly not sure, but I did enjoy writing it, even though the subject matter isn't particularly exciting. I do feel more confident about the vocab choices I've made for my stories, which is nice.
