Gwyn being argued as some enchantress that manipulates Azriel and his Shadows has been the worst theory to come from this fandom EVER.. and I’ve been with this series since the beginning(2015)

Trying to find any crumb of a flaw from this courageous, empathetic, and positive character has made me so upset about the fandom. It is making elriels seem like they are crumbling under themselves.

Resorting to calling Gwyn a manipulator because you cannot BELIEVE that Azriel would EVER have a positive reaction to Gwyn is desperate beyond reason. If you actually think that Sarah J Maas will have a character like Gwyn become some evil enchantress or manipulator, then you don’t know her as an author at all. Gwyn has inspired THOUSANDS in the fandom. Her story might even be the most horrific one that sjm has ever written. Her ability to overcome trauma, be so positive, and even begin the entire Valkyries again will leave a long lasting impact in the entire series. If you think for one second that sjm will ruin the entire beauty that is Gwyneth Berdara, you’re again very wrong.

The fact that Gwynriel’s could easily say the same thing about Elain’s unknown powers and how Azriel could be manipulated by them. But we don’t say that because we understand that they are attracted to eachother. We acknowledge that they have a natural connection. But we also recognize that their attraction for eachother are for the wrong reasons. We understand how sjm closes the aspect of a couple and that’s what she did in the bonus chapter.

As someone who has literally seen it all, has been gaslit for saying feysand was endgame before ACOMAF, this by FAR is the worst theory that anyone could say about an ACOTAR character. This is the worst take and it really shows me how quick some people in the fandom are to tear apart another woman. It’s disgusting and desperate.

Elriels come talk to me when you actually have a concrete theory, instead of your gross wish that Gwyn is evil

SJM is known to give her MCs powerful lines ... you know which other character apart from Manon was introduced in the middle of a series only to be given numerous impactful lines ... You guessed it right .... our very own Gwyneth Berdara!!! We all know how popular Manon is and how relevant she was to the series , if Gwyns start has been this impactful and obviously she has a HUGE fanbase already she will only grow 100 times more in popularity after the next book

They both participated in & completed the Blood Rite and gained titles of Carynthian.

They both have feelings of unworthiness.

They both have experienced trauma at the hands of others.

They both will put themselves in danger to ensure the safety of others.

With all of this...how can you not see them as endgame? Especially given "like calls to like" in Sarah's books.

I’ve come to conclusion through what I’ve observed is most people who are Gwynriel shippers are the ones who went into ACOSF because they were interested in Nesta and found the ship pleasantly surprising.

Something we weren’t expecting. The neutral ones who didn’t really have much opinion on Elain and Azriel. So when this amazing female character came in and was hinted as someone of significance to Azriel, we were instantly sold.

While after hearing the theories people who shipped Elriel came to read the books they were of course left disappointed. They expected some downright confession. Which is hilarious because this book is about Nesta.

I guess my point is. Don’t go in ACOSF thinking there is any justification for whom Azriel has feelings for. That man is himself in a state of confusion.

The vision for the piece was inner calm, rest, peace.

I believe they will be each other’s safe spaces through their mutual understanding of hurt and trauma. Azriel will be finally able to breathe and lay down his head to rest as Gwyn watches over him. Azriel will help her realize her own strength and resilience.

I know you have the theory that Fionn and Enalius might be mates, but I was wondering if maybe the priestess Oleanna, who dipped the Starsword into the cauldron, and Enalius could be. It could be foreshadowing for Gwyn and Azriel 👀

Yes one of my very dear friends came up with this headcanon .... And it was when I was talking about Fionn and Enalius ... And I think her headcanon has more parallels to Gywnriel

Please Note at this stage it is a crack theory and headcanon alone ....

We know Priestess Oleana was the one who gave Gwydion its power by dipping it in the Cauldron and it was Enalius who wielded Truth Teller ....

What if Priestess Oleana and Enalius were mates who couldn't be together in their previous life .... what if Azriel and Gwyn are basically Enalius and Oleana Reborn to find each in a different life.... it would be so poetic... them finding their mate to get another chance to spend their life with each other.

I for one absolutely loved the headcanon and I know I am going to scream if it happens but as it stands its not really backed by any Canon info . Also, it would lean in to the headcanon that Gwydion might call to Gwyn ...
