Decided to switch gears for a bit and design a rainbow high doll. I just got Victoria and got really inspired to try designing my own doll.
I noticed that there are not a lot of yellow dolls or dolls with natural Afro hair styles so I wanted to design around those two things. I settled on Honey Yellow as the color. Eventually I started looking into Nigerian fashion trends from 2022, and learned a bit about how Ankara is used and more about fashion in general. I’m trying to figure out an Ankara print that would work well for this doll.
But yeah, I would be curious to know what your guys input on this design is (especially if you know a bit about Nigerian or black American fashion). I’m still learning so some things about this beta design are probably not accurate yet, haha.

st. louis days 4 & 8: fashion through the decades, an ldpdl fashion (speculative) retrospective pt 2
1970s-1980s: we see from the 1970s flashback that louis has returned to the states from europe by this decade and is cruising the night life scene with armand, so he likely will be embracing the groovier fashion trends of the decade (colorful shirts, bell bottoms, big hair). we also see that his hair is no longer treated but worn natural and we get some idea of what he'd wear on a casual night out (he likes denim). in more day to day wear, i think he would be influenced by the boxy tailored looks of pam grier, bianca jagger and princess diana (shoulder pads!!!), since in his career era in the 1910s, louis was crazy about the girlboss power suit. i think he'd also like the billowy designs of versace in the 80s, which we still see somewhat in his fashion choices in dubai 2022 (see the scene where he serves daniel a martini). he also loves a pair of cunty sunglasses so i see him embracing the big ass sunglasses trend.

predicting 2023 fashion trends using numerology 🍒🧺📿
Tumblr media
🍒 mia goth in her 2022 horror film
🍒 as most of you are aware of, 2023’s numerological number is seven. seven, being the number of ketu (according to vedic numerology), is a highly spiritual value reminiscent of your own soul being your ultimate teacher. the shape of 7 itself mirrors the serpentine flow of the kundalini from the bottom of the spine to one’s third eye. the third eye serves as tisra til, or the “tenth gate”, a secret portal deemed to lead one into their inner spiritual plane. according to satsang, “tisra til is the door we go through, as it is where the soul goes through to know god. but the real meaning is that when the soul comes to know itself as god, as spirit, it can go before god. it worships god directly. and it is real simple: that’s the original condition of mankind”. but this phenomenon brings detachments, losses, mindlessness and wanderlust for the unknown. pulling you into the maddening abyss. this call for personal ascension and prevalence of ketu is ultimately what will influence the fashion trends that will arise within this year.
Tumblr media
🍒 photos via tumblr/harper’s bazaar that encapsulate 2014’s overall online subcultures
🍒 the last time we entered a numerology 7 year was 2014. 2014 was an essential year who’s fashion trends were heavily influenced by tumblr. coincidentally the popularity of tumblr has increased today and has often been accused of being the primary forefather of the “reversal of the bbl” trend we are slowly starting to see. while i in no way believe that our body shapes and weight should serve as trends, it is interesting to see the rise and fall of the curvaceous figure in celebrities, such as the kardashians. 2022, the year of the number 6, is associated with shukra. shukra is the graha of fertility, voluptuousness and is associated with a generally curvaceous physique (according to vedic texts). whereas, ketu, the graha of disassociation and generally maleficence, bestows a heavily slender, lithe figure. this is ultimately why in 2014, there was the unfortunate rise of d*sordered consumption-based communities longing for this specific physique. additionally, in 2022, we saw a heavy push for beauty products, ranging from at-home waxes and hair masks to full makeup routines based on what face shape you have. this constant push of product and over-saturation of makeup and fashion trends (being venusian in nature) will cause many individuals to move away from this consumerist narrative and towards more sustainability, minimalism and less purchases. the same happened in our previous transition from 2013 (year of 6/shukra) to 2014 (year of 7/ketu), we transitioned from bubbly, hyperfeminine, ugg-wearing, victoria’s secret-clad, and ariana grande-influenced aesthetic to the grunge, lana del rey-esque, dyed hair, and generally “underground” aesthetic. as we are slowly being called to abandon the temporal, luxurious pleasures of shukra for the wanderlust, detaching properties of ketu in search of self-liberation from the masses and self-discovery.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🍒 visual representation of ketu’s rather epicurean fashion taste and the darker elements in the recent gothic revival
🍒 gothic influences are also on the horizon for 2023’s fashion trends. similar to american horror story’s 2014 influences, wednesday’s and mia goth’s prevalence in social media will likely be a contributor to people wanting to branch out of most of the current trends of hyper layering, uggs, and pastels on tiktok. this fashionable extension may range from incorporating more stripes, polka dots and velvet textiles to more epicurean looks complete with cross necklaces (an ode to the ketuvian act of dying to oneself) and intricate corsets. additionally, the more edgy statements of 2014, such as dip dyed hair and shiny combat boots are likely to come in full effect. the once prominence of dip dyed hair is due to the lack of disturbance to the hair follicle and temporary coloring of the hair cuticle. being able to dye your hair, with minimal damage (such as the absence bleaching), is a great way to immerse oneself in the varying energies of each graha safely. the most common colors for dip dyed hair were blue and pink. dip dyed pink hair is invoking shukra energies, whereas azure (in addition to indigo) coloring is invoking the energy of shani. considering the lessening relevance of shukra on this year’s numerology, shani’s prevalence will likely take precedent. this is due to shani being the precursor to the teachings of ketu. where shani grants hardships, struggles, and frustration, ketu grants detachment, philosophy and maturity.
Tumblr media
🍒 examples of the western, americana and vintage aesthetics
🍒 with the rising prevalence of mia goth, we are liking going to see a rise in the traditional/americana aesthetic (as executed in her “x” and “pearl” films). this aesthetic primarily consisting of soft music, rural scenery, folklore, and material culture which are seen as distinctly or especially "american". this americana style is characterized by nostalgia for an idealized past, often seen as "more wholesome" than modern american culture and style and a call to traditionalism. while this aesthetic is often commercialized, restaurant chains such as red robin and applebee's decorate their interior walls with a collection of mid-20th century artifacts and signage which is affectionately known as "american clutter”, modern, stylistic iterations are using traditional, western clothing that could be found in your nearest thrift or vintage store. such as, leather cowboy boots, denim overalls, white and red colored clothing (symbolic of the duality of purification and ignition of ketu), bandanas, and truly any norman rockwell and lana del rey-esc designs. this entire predicted wave of fashionable frontierism is symbolic of ketu’s call to one’s ancestral roots and unearthing/remembering those who came before us.
Tumblr media
🍒 examples of revolutionized vintage iconography made to fit modern-day styling
🍒 within the americana aesthetic, simpler, more distressed textiles and prints will arise in popularity. modest kitten heels and nylon tights which rose to infamy in 1942 (due to the shortage of nylon), yet another 7 year, will be heavily worn. additionally, edgy elements of distressed, vintage, or pre-worn clothing, juxtaposed with layered jewelry, will serve as a subtle nod to the traditionalism and retro charm of the americana aesthetic while incorporating the aforementioned gothic elements. similar western notions of denim and low rise jeans will continue to prevail throughout 2023. many will opt for denim jackets as a casual piece, daisy duke shorts, and distressed boot jeans (perfect to pair with a good pair of boots). an overall emphasis of revealing clothing layered with tights and stockings will be seen.
Tumblr media
🍒 dolce and gabbana autumn/winter 2020
🍒 crocheting and knitwear will become very integrated into mainstream fashion. light cardigans, heavy turtlenecks, and knitted leg-warmers, once seen in the coquette aesthetic, will turn in statement pieces. the unique and meditative nature of both artistic practices is what calls ketu natives to them. in claire nakti’s previous exploration of magha chandra natives, she noted their affinity for the practice of knitting. i believe this affinity is due to the writing of many devout catholics and christians and their juxtaposition of spirituality with the act of knitting. knitting serves as an act of mindfulness, as the craft is based upon intention and attention. in a similar fashion, those under the influence of ketu only focus themselves on pure intentions. in abstaining from engaging in behaviors that exacerbate their affinity for disassociation and choosing a practice that brings mindfulness and clarity, ketu natives are able to work towards attaining access to their tisra til. perhaps most interesting is the prevalence of christ-focused religions in the contemplation of the spiritual aspect of knitting. it is said that in order for one to go through their tisra til, they must call upon god by prayer or by the “hu” mantra (pronounced as “hugh”). the hu mantra, was the basis of the judeo, christian, and islamic traditions, that is, the ancient tetragrammaton. although the term “hu” predates all religions and belongs to no religion. it is said that sometimes in meditation or mindful contemplation, you'll hear “hu” almost as a hard rushing wind blowing, just as the apostles did when they were filled with the spirit. the mantra being considered as one’s personal love song to the higher power.
Tumblr media
🍒 varying head covers intended for fashionable purposes yet likely resulting in spiritual benefits
🍒 another common judeo, christian, and islamic practice: head covering, will likely influence 2023 fashion. crocheted headwear, veils, ushankas, satin bows, tied silk scarves and more will continue to grace the runways of designers. paying homage to the presence of veiling in gothic subcultures and early 1940s hooded couture, by covering the spiritual vehicle that is our hair (particularly the roots of our hair). the ultra sleek, dramatic hooded silhouette is additionally worn to focus and contain one’s energy, providing clarity and a meditative focus on your ajna chakra (third eye). in regards to the eastern church practice of head coverings, bishop athanasius yohan spoke “when a woman wears the symbol of god’s government, a head covering, she is essentially a rebuke to all the fallen angels. her actions say to them, ‘you have rebelled against the holy god, but I submit to him and his headship. i choose not to follow your example of rebellion and pride.'” while many people choose not to veil for personal reasons, the act of covering one’s head or adorning it in cloth, produces similar results of inward focus and angelic guidance.
Tumblr media
🍒 pastel iterations of the y2k aesthetic
🍒 lastly, as evidenced by my prior post, i theorize the y2k aesthetic will garner more prevalence due to its ketuvian undertones and influences. more so with less common iterations of the aesthetic that were not revived in 2022, such as plaid, micro skirts and shorts, denim skirts, and leg warmers. we will slowly start to move away from the “mcbling” aesthetic for a more subtle fit with preppy influences; symbolic of the philosophical nature of ketu. think of leather loafers, chunky knitted socks, polos, turtleneck sweatshirts, pearl jewelry, and slender, midsized bags. however, society’s fondness of pastel and pink colors within this aesthetic will slowly start to evolve for more interest in indigos, sultry blacks, neutral greys, baby blues, autumnal tans and silvery whites.
🍒 my previous exploration of the y2k aesthetic and its ketu influences aesthetic (in case you missed it)
Tumblr media
🍒 bella hadid and vittoria ceretti for ports 1961’s 2022 autumn/winter campaign
i am interested to know if you guys are already wearing some of these trends and what fashion trends do you think will gain prevalence in 2023? i truly feel as if this year will be the revival of the 2014 tumblr aesthetic.
xoxo,
angel 💋

April 25, 2023
On April 25, 2022 - Hours after the movie premier, Jk goes live! In my opinion, he came online to read our thoughts and assurances after such a loud, momentous occasion with Tae, especially considering he was silent and primarily seemed to be reading comments for the first seven minutes of his live. He also mentions later in the live he comes on live when he has a lot on his mind. It makes it all the more disappointing how some reacted and what they possibly could’ve commented for Jk to say he wouldn’t read comments. Please remember boundaries as a fan. Use empathy, respect, understanding, kindness and consideration - all of which isn’t hard to do. Be a fan that supports, rather than a “fan” that acts entitled and tries to dictate their lives (like telling him to cut his hair - how shameful of whoever said that) which is no fan. I like to hope and think that Tae and Jk saw more love and support than anything else, factoring in things like Taekook trending worldwide. They’re very much aware of the unfortunate hate from past occasions, yet they continue to prioritize each other, and they always will, so I wish some would take note of this and stop projecting their anger and fear onto them. Nothing will change. Understand that and respect it or be quiet, if you don’t have anything nice to say.
Anyway, getting into his live:
A little over fifteen minutes in, Jk comments he hasn’t said much but there still is a lot of comments coming through. He gently suggests fans take a break from commenting. He then says to not leave messages, that he came because he missed us and then notes that the temperature of the questions differs. At 22:22 he says with a smile he won’t read comments and he wants to just turn the comments off, as the color of the comments is so different. He then says no matter his mood, happy or uncertain, he’ll seek us out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
timestamp 23:52
Summary -
Tumblr media
He played the song “I really want to stay at your house” by Rosa Walton and Hallie Coggins on repeat for well over the first 24 minutes of his live. There surely is a reason he played the song on repeat, at least, in my opinion. One person noted it’s an OST for an open world RPG with main character “V.” I also read it’s a very gender neutral game. I won’t even try to deduce the meaning behind Jk playing the song on repeat so please decide as you like, though I’ll leave the RPG info below since it was circulating on SM.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jk was surprised when, after 24 minutes of the song playing on loop, his player moved to another song.
Tumblr media
Timestamp 24:38
Jk mentions now and in the future to not be sick. He then says he’ll also seek out his own personal journey of happiness, as he has until now and will continue to do so. He then reminds us we should too (find our own pursuit of happiness, which will differ for everyone).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Timestamp 25:38
This reminds me of his final live of the four lives he did on March 14, 2023, when he repeatedly and emotionally stressed to be happy, even without BTS (and then asked ARMY to type APOBANGPO).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back to this live - he mentions again to not be sick. He wishes for our good health, physically and mentally. He says even without reading comments he feels peace because we’re connected right now (through his live). He also turns off the star projector.
Tumblr media
Summary -
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He then talks about the movie “Dream,” which goes without saying is the momentous event he and Tae attended hours ago. He says he enjoyed it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He encourages us to focus on the plot of “Dream” as it’s about everyone having individual stories. This ties back into his comment about everyone finding their own definition of happiness - which we all should very much do since it differs for each individual - and working towards our individualized path towards that happiness.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He says the movie was therapeutic, emotional and fun, and that he enjoyed it, despite not sleeping well the past couple of days (he also mentioned not sleeping well in his March 23, 2023 live). He ends his thoughts on the movie by asking us to give it a lot of love when it releases. He also says it was filmed a while ago, overlapping with Covid, but it’s still meaningful.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Timestamp of start of “Dream” -31:15 - 32:01
Summary -
Tumblr media
He says he’s been working hard on music (can’t wait for JJK1!!!! 🙏🏽) and mentions ordering takeout lately. Jk comments he likes the perilla oil in makguksu.
Tumblr media
A cute summary of the recipe of what Jk makes in his live - (by Taekook_Rainbow (IG) )
Tumblr media
timestamp 35:45
And this the comment is interesting in itself since we know Tae really loves makguksu. He mentioned eating it for lunch on Weverse, February 7, 2022.
Tumblr media
Tae mentioned makguksu to Wooga during filming of ITS Friendcation.

Tae and Wooga ate at a makguksu restaurant during filming of ITS Friendcation.
Tumblr media
Seo-Joon mentioned in “Jinny’s Kitchen” Tae is eating a lot of makguksu -
Tumblr media
and Jk mentioned it in his March 23, 2023 live.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Timestamp 11:40 https://twitter.com/cookiesandtea26/status/1650666730593693700?s=46&t=StSwHjW0_Domk_lHUFMaCg https://twitter.com/heaven_borahae/status/1650816921703694336?s=46&t=StSwHjW0_Domk_lHUFMaCg
Jk posted the recipe on Weverse. A lot noted he mentions doubling the recipe. Since Seo-Joon recently said Tae likes makguksu, it seems awfully coincidental Jk posted this 2 portion recipe, but someone could also argue Jk has a hearty appetite, so I’ll just leave the information and you decide as you like 😀

Hello I hope you are doing well, I found a new drama titled "The Legacy" (2022) 传家 , that I would love to hear your thoughts on. The reason is that what caught my eye is that this drama ( atleast in some of the promo pictures) the qipao/cheongsam seem to have the neck binding that I read sometime frustrates you ioth other movies and shows' costumes
I had a look at some photos of that drama and they have some really spectacular and well made costumes that have never been attempted elsewhere. There were some weird choices here and there but overall the costuming is very thoughtful and refreshing. The story starts in the late 20s and ends in the early 40s, and the show did attempt to show the passage of time with the costumes while respecting the fashion of the actual years it was from. I especially approve of the costumes from the 20s/30s transition, they did not shy away from recreating the flapper look at all!
Tumblr media
This costume (hybrid cheongsam-Western dress) is amazing in that it replicated the ruffled sleeves we see on some dresses of the 20s/30s transition. The scalloped edges are also a nice period detail. And yes like you said they did the binding all the way around the neck which is accurate.
Tumblr media
Late 20s/early 30s dress with ruffled sleeves.
Tumblr media
These are two very good examples of late 20s cheongsam. The flat chested silhouette, the slightly flared sleeves, the fake two-piece effect with the long vest etc., all true to the era. The hair here is alright.
Tumblr media
Late 20s photograph.
Tumblr media
In this photo you can see some of their shoes. The women’s footwear is immaculate and absolutely period accurate, on top of being beautiful and flattering. They have that 20s pointed toe and overall mary jane shape, as well as decorations. I think the costumers might have tried to indicate age and different personalities within a historically accurate framework, which shows incredible skill; traditionally, costumers relied on time travelling to indicate whether someone was more conservative or modern etc.. Here the older woman wears a longer cheongsam in a darker color with embroidery, the younger ones wear shorter ones with abstract modernist patterns and avant-garde construction.
The first cheongsam from the left is remarkable: it’s short (knee length), has a zigzag hem with embroidered/beaded borders, a tube collar and a floral corsage, all very fashionable elements of the time.
Tumblr media
Late 20s/early 30s cheongsam with zigzag motif.
Tumblr media
This one is also well made and has good fabric and trim choices.
Tumblr media
This is a very well constructed early 30s cheongsam, the linear, abstract fabric and three rows of thin binding are great period choices as well. The symmetrical dajin is well executed! The collar is appropriately tall.
Tumblr media
Mei Lin in a 30s cheongsam with a similar collar, tall and with three rows of binding.
Tumblr media
The fabric choice in this one!! Spectacular!! Amazing!! Revolutionary!! I’ve always wanted to see bold geometric patterns on cheongsam the same way they were popular in the 30s, and this is serving it. They also did the binding (thin and two rows, very good) around the fictitious armhole, an actual period design mimicking the long vest trend of earlier years. The attention to detail and variety in options is legendary.
Tumblr media
Anna May Wong in a cheongsam with armhole binding (even the pose here is similar, great for showing my point ahaha).
Tumblr media
The wedding look is pretty nice, actually looks like something someone would wear to a wedding in the Republican era.
Tumblr media
The bolero with puffed sleeves! That was a thing in the 30s and 40s.
Tumblr media
Late 30s/early 40s poster, showing woman in cheongsam and puff sleeve bolero.
Tumblr media
Very interesting fabric choice here, presumably for an early 40s cheongsam? The low collar is great, and they actually aren’t afraid of getting rid of trimmings and binding altogether as was the case in the 40s. The hair here is actually fully waved and great but would be more appropriate for the early 30s.

Though I would say some of the makeup and hairstyling in this drama leaves much to be desired, whoever made the clothes have a much more advanced grasp on fashion history than the hair and makeup stylists. They used a lot of these tack on fingerwave extensions, which is industry standard guzhuang practice. Many characters also have loose, straight hair on many occasions, not in a "they were students and didn't bother to curl their hair" historically accurate way but in a "this appeals to modern audiences" kind of way. The makeup is also completely modern.
I feel like the menswear and generally “Western” costumes in this are a hit or miss. The menswear looks overall too tight, and the Western clothes don’t really look like anything popular in Western fashion at the time.
I think the costumes in this drama are strongest in their tailoring and choice of fabrics.

Here are some interesting observations I have made regarding both Fnaf and Danganronpa that relate to each other. It may just be confirmation bias, but its still fun to point these out:
Killer robot bears
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In DR 1 monokuma says "you look like you've seen a ghost. A robot bear... ghost?" Which is something that fnaf revolves around. And I don't just mean robot bears possessed by ghosts, we have ghosts that take the form of robot bears too. Specifically this happens during the scene when Monokuma explains to Makoto that his bathroom door doesn't fit the frame.
Both use the same stock clock chime sound effect, which is iconic to players of both games.
Both have an in joke in the community regarding butter because of an iconic, absurd moment involving the substance (Exotic Butters, and Mondo butter)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both have a lot of dark humor, bizzare moments, fourth wall breaking, odd spin offs, weird anime moments, and tones that can range from light and goofy to dark and depressing. As a result of this clash in tone, both have become incredibly bizzare.
Both have crazy sci-fi elements that come out of nowhere.
The main two animals in both are a bear and a rabbit, in that order of significance.
One April fools day, r/fnaf and r/danganronpa collabed, with each temporarily becoming a sub dedicated to the other. Some people still have flairs from the other series on those subreddits.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As r/deathbattlematchups can attest, there are a lot of odd similarities between William Afton and Junko Enoshima, enough that the entire community there became split about the match up, and it has become an iconic match up there "a legacy battle" even, just like Mario vs sonic or goku vs superman. A short version of these connections will (maybe) be listed in a separate post. And yes the match up was supposedly acknowledged by the people behind death battle as "something they will consider". They are definitely aware of the match up.
Both had sequels that made their own series exist in universe.
Both have fanbases that are generally regarded negatively. Though as a fan of both, I do not necessarily agree or disagree with this assessment.
Both came out in the first half of the 2010's
Both have a well known Tumblr Sexyman (William Afton and Nagito Komaeda), enough so to both appear on the infamous Tumblr Sexyman poll. Afton only made it through the first round (though his opponent was Spamton and this was in 2022) and Nagito only made it to the second round. Both series also have a secondary Tumblr Sexyman in Michael Afton and Kokichi Ouma. Neither of which were on the poll but are still highly noteworthy, and both purple (Michael has purple skin, Kokichi has purple hair and eyes)
Each has a bazillion variants to their respective robot bears.
Both feature security cameras in almost every room as well as featuring monitors.
Simulated realities and artificial humans are common plot points.
Both have characters with a split personality where one side is homicidal and insane.
Toy bears with a video feed inside, that can be spoken through remotely by the primary villain who does so from a secret room within the main facility. Where have I heard that one before?
Faz-Coins (or Faz-Tokens, its gone by both names) and Mono-Coins. Both are even gold coins hidden around the environment with the mascots face emblazoned on them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Funtime Freddy and Monokuma are both two colored (one of the colors is white, and in the fourth closet funtime Freddy is black and white just like Monokuma) killer robot bears who are super high tech and have higher pitched voices. Monokuma has an over the top and deranged sense of humor and in one of the books we see the same as true in a version of Funtime Freddy.
Both Spike Chunsoft and Steel Wool Studios are both really only known for each respective title.
Both have a thing where in their communities, fan made games often with the same or better quality to the original product are commonplace.
Danganronpa hit an all time high on Google trends in 2021 in the U.S and around the same time Fnaf was the highest it had been since 2017 during its long and steep decline from its initial explosion in 2014. These events can be attributed to new releases made by both in 2021. With ultimate summer camp S being released in November, but getting its world wide release in December, and Fnaf Security breach also in December. In their home countries each also had a massive spike relative to their own position in 2023, with DR in January and Fnaf in October.
The fnaf movie plays out more like a detective thriller than horror movie, and Danganronpa is a series of murder mysteries. The initial trilogy of fnaf novels and the first Danganronpa light novel both also have this, and feature female protagonists who have a lot to do with what's going in, but aren't aware of it, have memory issues, and turn out to not be who they believe themselves to be.
Danganronpa has a tendency to take away characters memories, and Fnaf has a tendency to give characters looks into other people's memories or let memories linger in objects or places.
In both series, Agony and Despair respectively are both forces that can affect the mind, and spread like an infection. Its a bit more literally tangible in FNaF but DR focuses on it more so it balances out. This is the basis for one of the many aforementioned Afton and Enoshima connections: both are obsessed with the respective substance and its effects and view it as the strongest emotion (the fourth closet shows that Agony is the source of Aftons immortality, and other sources also support that most remnant that powers animatronics and haunted objects is very specifically Agony based. They are not completely separate.)
Back to back (or at least, with nothing in between the two on their community page), popular YouTube channel Dead Meat announced they were doing a Danganronpa kill count, then they streamed the first fnaf game, likely in preparation for the movie. I even made a post about it back on obsessedwithecho, which I reposted here.
Two popular Danganronpa based youtubers made videos where they got into FNaF and became full fnaf fans (SHSL Blaze, and then Weeby Newz). In both cases it was very popular relative to their other videos, and both were often titled, at least initially as "Danganronpa fan plays Fnaf" or something of the sort. It should be noted they are friends and Weeby was inspired to do so by Blaze, so it's not a coincidence this happened in both cases.
There are at least two, very high quality rap battles on YouTube that are "Monokuma vs Freddy Fazbear". Its rare to see two of the same match up unless the two characters often get compared. But they don't. And yet there's still two of them.
One of the most popular fnaf fan game series "Dayshift at Freddys" is a visual novel, just like Danganronpa is. (There's also a lot of other, older fnaf visual novel fangames, but those aren't as popular and were mostly dating sims and stuff)
In both series deaths that are highly bizzare, brutal, or both, are highly common. Here's a mixed list of examples from both, all from official materials, though excluding fnaf fanverse stuff. Unless you know at least one of these series well enough, it might be hard to distinguish which comes from which. Having your innards scooped out, turning into butter, turning into a kids at play sign, turning into a candy statue, being spahettified by a black hole and woven into undergarments, being crushed to death in a mascot costume while drowning in your own blood and being impaled from all angles, pummeled to death by rapid fire baseballs at machine gun levels of speed, burning alive, being hit by a truck, being burned alive then hit by a truck, stabbed to death with scissors and crucified, male pregnancy, being seasoned and then dipped in a volcano, being converted into a mass of genetically modified sea-monkeys, cancer, suicide by poison, being crushed to death underneath the floor of a ticket jumping machine, killed in the crossfire of a fight between two giant robot mascots, crushed by a trash compactor, round trip from earth to space, suicide by robot made solely to assist in said suicide, death by sharks, face eaten by a cupcake, brainwashed by a digital consciousness, stabbed from under a floorboard, face cut off by a guillotine paper slicer, forced to wear a mask with running buszzsaws inside,
There is a reference to the dish known as "eggs benedict" in both games. Though in one its a memorable joke and on the other its a throwaway remark. Here's the DR2 transcript for proof:
Tumblr media
Both have a bunch of comparisons to the Saw franchise as well, but not as overly specific and bizzare as these examples.
That's all for now. I'll post more examples later but for now I just want to get this post out its been in my drafts since before I made this sideblog. Lol.

MICHAELA COEL at the Prada SS23 show at Milan Fashion Week on September 24th 2022 wearing PRADA
Michaela looked absolutely amazing. This was one of my favorite looks of the event. The pieces she wore were all beautiful, and then worked so well all together. I think her hair and makeup was top notch. The makeup was very natural, and just really accentuated her eyes and lips. I loved the relaxed look of her hair. I thought the highlights were super pretty.
This outfit was amazing. The sheer dress with a slip underneath was so pretty. I loved the white and gold colors together, after the sheer skirt and white tank top trend, I'm much more behind this dress. Adding the brown jacket put this look over the edge. It looked great with the dress, and made it more fancy. The jacket looks great and is just beautifully constructed. The black boots and bag were also great additions, I love pairing knee high boots with a shorter dress. This was just a great look.

This July, no one can escape the "Barbie Pink" frenzy!
Even before the movie "Barbie" hits the screens, the fashion industry has already gone crazy for it. The two lead actors, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, embarked on a promotional tour in June, and fashion inspired by "Barbie" has been widely discussed since then. Stylist Andrew Mukamal took pink as the main theme and drew inspiration from Barbie dolls' historical wardrobes to create outfits for the stars.
Barbie has become one of the most influential fashionable IPs in modern times, naturally leading to the fashion industry's frenzy for the movie "Barbie." Brands such as Emilio Pucci, Schiaparelli, and Vivienne Westwood have provided custom clothing for Margot Robbie, while Moschino and Versace have opened their archives for the stylist team to select vintage styles reminiscent of classic Barbie doll outfits.
Chanel, where Margot Robbie has been announced as a brand ambassador, has taken it a step further by not only showcasing its own designs on the red carpet but also incorporating them into the Barbie wardrobe in the movie. Even in relatively relaxed settings like the airport, the brand can find opportunities for exposure, as long as the clothing's main tone is pink. As the release date of "Barbie" approaches, the fashion trend is not limited to brands alone. The dressing style known as "Barbiecore" has gained popularity on social media platforms overseas, with the hashtag receiving over 500 million views on TikTok. As depicted in the movie, this style primarily focuses on exaggerated and dreamy outfits with pink hues.
In an analysis article, Bloomberg points out that the Barbiecore style has replaced the dominance of the "old money" style and aligns with the resurgence of vintage trends in recent years. However, if we broaden our perspective, Barbie pink has been popular for quite a long time, not just because the movie is about to be released.
The most prominent case is Valentino's "Barbie Pink," which became a sensation in 2022, with designer Pierpaolo Piccioli giving it the name "Pink PP." The intention was to push for an image transformation, but the vivid color left a strong impression amid controversy. On the fashion index engine Lyst, searches related to pink fashion have increased by 80%.
Although this trend has persisted for a long time, leaving a lasting impression when everyone jumps on the bandwagon is not an easy task. It is evident that many brands have simply swapped their packaging for pink. Consequently, many Barbie collaboration series launched by beauty brands received a lukewarm response. Barbie dolls themselves are famous for their rich clothing choices and diverse "dollhouse" settings, with little emphasis on specific makeup looks, and at times, criticized for promoting stereotypical appearances like blonde hair and blue eyes.
On TikTok, a platform full of creativity and fashion, Orolay brand seized the opportunity and launched a series of fantasy-colored down jackets, offering users a visual feast. These dreamy-colored down jackets are full of fairytale-like imagination, each emitting a unique magical ambiance. From soft pinks and purples to vibrant blues and greens, each color represents a different dreamy world, immersing people in a magical wonderland.
In addition to the dreamy-colored down jackets, Orolay cleverly paired them with whimsical and diverse accessories, making the overall styling more rich and varied. For instance, cute pink hats, dreamy pink skirts, and other accessories added a playful touch to the down jackets' styling, enhancing the overall sense of fashion and individual charm. These accessories not only added a sense of fun but also elevated the overall fashion appeal and personal charisma.
Through this series of fantasy-colored down jackets and creatively matched whimsical accessories, the brand demonstrates its unique understanding of fashion and keen grasp of fashion trends, offering users more exciting fashion choices. This innovative approach further solidifies Orolay's position in the fashion industry, allowing the brand to have a wider influence among young users.

Blacktober 2022, Day 13: Ghost (Oops!)
Bucking the trend of posting ridiculously early by posting 4 days late. This one's about a totally different set of ocs but it takes place in the same AU. Content warning for some death mentions, although the tone of the story's pretty lighthearted. The next chapter is right here.
Dimitri’s life was eternally easy. He’d had a few rough patches lately, but they’d all been smoothed out and now he was living large. He’d decided to return to college, and he was getting a microbiology degree. Maybe he’d get a doctorate if he really felt like it, but it was too soon to think that far ahead. He was just a sophomore at NDC University, and it was a Friday night. Right now his only plan was to meet up with a few friends at the bar and let loose.
He had multiple cars, but finding parking in this crowded city was a hassle so he took the bus. The sun had already set, and there was no one else at the stop. The yellow light above his head flickered incessantly, like it was speaking jumbled Morse code. Dimitri figured it needed a new bulb. There was a sign next to him with a faded map of various bus routes. He was taking the blue line, which was easy to remember since it was his favorite color. The blue line zig-zagged through the map of the city like it was dodging a bullet. It was a long route, which meant he had a long ride ahead of him. Hopefully he wouldn’t fall asleep and miss his stop.
Dimitri checked the time on his phone: 8:09 PM. The bus was running late; it should’ve arrived five minutes ago. He glanced up and noticed a young woman standing beside him. He hadn’t noticed her arrival in the few seconds it took to check his phone, but some people were just naturally quiet. The woman was white, and she had straight red hair that faded to blonde. She was wearing a warm, fuzzy jacket even though it was late summer and her hands were stuffed in her pockets. She glanced nervously between Dimitri and the street, like she was afraid that something was about to happen.
“Public transportation can be really inconvenient, huh?” Dimitri asked, hoping to lighten the mood. He was no stranger to making small talk and he didn’t mind it in the slightest.
The woman did, apparently, and she jumped like she didn’t realize Dimitri could speak. She was a few inches shorter than him, and her short stature combined with her gray jacket made her reminiscent of a frightened mouse. “Oh! Yes, it is! Or, it can be!”
Dimitri smiled and yawned. The boredom of waiting for the bus was getting to him. “Hopefully when the bus finally comes I’ll be awake.”
The woman laughed awkwardly and gave him a shaky thumbs-up. “I’ll be sure to wake you up, then. Good luck!”
Dimitri nodded and went back to looking at his phone. Ten minutes later, he could hear the low rumble of a loud engine approaching. The bus was just down the street now. The redhead looked more nervous than ever.
“Um, do you know if that’s the blue or purple line? I can’t really tell from here," she meekly admitted. “Maybe you can check for me? I’m new around here, and I’m nervous about messing everything up…”
“Sure.” Dimitri knew for a fact it was the blue line bus, but it never hurt to check. He stepped closer to the curb and squinted at the rapidly approaching bus. The flashing sign above the windshield bore the words BLUE LINE in golden letters. He turned around to tell the redhead, but the first thing he saw was her running towards him, arms raised. Before he could react, she pushed him into the street, directly into the bus’s path.
Dimitri was so shocked, his soul left his body — literally. He was now a translucent blue astral projection floating above himself. His body lay in the middle of the street like it had already been hit. Luckily, the bus driver had good reflexes and had already begun slowing down. He managed to bring the bus to a screeching halt just before it hit Dimitri’s body. He and some concerned passengers scrambled off of the bus to check on Dimitri, took one look at his projection, and panicked. Dimitri was about to return to his body to calm them down, but the redhead dashed into the street and scooped it up first.
“David, are you with me? Oh God, I'm so sorry!” She turned to the crowd and explained, “He’s my cousin! I live close by, I’ll take care of him!” Without another word, she ran off with the body. The projection turned to the crowd and shrugged, unsure of what was going on, and followed after her. There was nothing stopping him from returning to his body and reawakening in her arms, but his interest was officially piqued and he wanted to see what she was up to.
She carefully put Dimitri’s body in the trunk of her car and started it up. As a projection Dimitri could pass through solid objects, so he passed through the car’s passenger door and sat down. He waved a hand in front of the woman’s face, just to make sure she could see him.
“Yes, I totally see you!” The woman confirmed. “Try not to distract me, I’m excited and busy!”
As someone who was prone to falling asleep while driving, Dimitri couldn’t fault her for wanting to avoid distractions, so he let the woman focus. She took him to an apartment complex near Dimitri’s college, one that attracted plenty of upperclassmen residents. Dimitri wondered if she was also a student.
The woman turned left into a small parking lot in the back and took Dimitri’s body inside as quickly as possible. She opened the door to an apartment on the second floor, where another woman was sitting at the kitchen table, textbook and journals spread in front of her. Dimitri sat down across from her and glanced at her notes as the redhead laid his body on the floor. She appeared to be studying something theology-related — a religious studies major, maybe? — and she was so focused on her work that she hardly glanced at her roommate.
The woman pushed her roommates’ belongings to the side, laid Dimitri’s body on the table, and declared in a sing-songy voice, “Katsura-a-a-a! I brought dinner!” Apparently she and Katsura were cannibals.
The studious woman looked between the redhead, the body and the projection with stern eyes shielded by round, gold-colored glasses. She had tan skin, a black bob cut and a faint mustache.
Dimitri expected Katsura to say something, but she remained silent, processing the situation. The redhead spoke again to fill in the silence. “I was gonna take the bus and pick someone further away, but there was nobody at the stop this time and the opportunity was so tempting!”
Katsura put her pencil down and rose to her feet. Dimitri saw that she was easily the tallest person in the room. She wore an oversized, baby blue sweater and loose khakis that complemented her slender figure. She placed her hands on the redhead’s shoulders, bending down so she was at her eye level, and said in a deep, intense voice, “Tilly. I love you. However, you are stupid.”
Tilly looked flabbergasted. “Huh?! I mean, I know, but what did I do this time?”
Katsura poked Dimitri’s body and took his pulse. “He is not dead. Simply asleep.”
“But his ghost is right there!” Tilly aimed a finger at Dimitri’s projection, who was watching the conversation with an amused expression on his face.
“That is a projection,” Katsura corrected. She picked up her textbook and flipped to a different page about out-of-body experiences. There was an illustration of an astral projection that closely resembled Dimitri: the figure had the same hazy appearance, like the wind could disperse them at any moment. The only real difference was that they were watermelon green instead of blue.
“Oh no, oh no, oh no,” Tilly said over and over, shaking her head. “I messed up! You asked for someone who was dead already!”
“It doesn’t matter. We will deep clean the apartment twice this time.” Katsura rolled up her sleeves, revealing azure scales that were slowly spreading across her arms. Her white-painted nails turned into sharp, golden claws, and her irises shifted from black to yellow with narrow pupils.
Dimitri decided now would be the best time to return to his body. He wasn’t so go-with-the-flow that he was going to let himself die. He stood up, leaned into his body and sank through layers of fabric, skin, and flesh. His breaths grew deeper, his eyes fluttered open, and he woke up at last. “Thanks for having me, but I’m actually not in the mood for being eaten. Katsura, let me know if you’ve got a test on astral projection — I might be able to help.”
Katsura ignored Dimitri and seized him by the neck, claws digging into his throat. She looked a little surprised, like she hadn’t expected Dimitri to remember what he’d witnessed as a projection. “You are an experienced projector. I will deal with your ghost.”
Dimitri raised his hands in innocence. He still had his signature cool smile, but it was a little tighter than usual; he wasn’t a fighter, and he wasn’t sure he could take a reptilian humanoid in a fight. “You don’t need to deal with anything if you keep me alive, which you’d definitely be better off doing.”
Katsura narrowed her eyes. “Why?”
Katsura asked a good question. As far as she was concerned, he really was just some guy, except for one thing: his family name. He didn’t like throwing that kind of weight around when he didn’t need to, but it was useful for getting out of pinches like this. He relaxed a little, confident that his move would work. “I’m actually a Lyubimov. There might be a couple of articles about me.”
Tilly cocked her head. “What's a Lyubimov?”
Katsura looked thoroughly unimpressed. “I do not care for celebrities.”
It looked like Dimitri had some explaining to do. “I’m not a real celebrity. Have you heard of the Lyubimov Corporation? We’ve got a big office building downtown.”
Tilly’s eyes lit up with recognition. “Oh, I do remember that! I ignored the logo on it because I thought it looked ugly, but the skyscraper itself is so cool! I’m an architectural engineering major and I was stunned by how well it was designed! I mean, usually I prefer retro designs, but— Wait, this isn’t the focus of the conversation, is it?”
“It is not.” Katsura took out her phone with her free hand to look up the corporation. “There is an article naming one Dimitri Lyubimov as the heir. Is that you?”
“Yep, although I’m actually fifth-in-line to the throne, so to speak. It’s a common misconception — most of us keep to ourselves,” Dimitri explained. He came from old money, and his family had long grown out of flaunting their wealth outside of the occasional Tweet or Instagram post.
Katsura’s grip on Dimitri’s neck loosened. “In essence, you are extremely rich.”
“Right on the money.” Dimitri glanced at Katsura’s hand and kept smiling.
“But that doesn’t, like, mean anything. It’s not like you’re shielded by a wall of money or something,” Tilly countered.
That gave Dimitri an idea. “Well, not literally. I’m guessing you have a pattern of killing people for your… girlfriend, right? Are the cops on your tail yet?”
Tilly and Katsura exchanged a glance. “Not yet,” Katsura answered honestly.
“Soon, they will be. To tell the truth, my criminal record isn’t squeaky clean either, but you know why I’m not in prison? Money.” Dimitri answered his rhetorical question with complete confidence. His entire upbringing had prepared him for moments like this, when you had to carve out a good deal for yourself with self-assuredness alone.
Tilly still seemed skeptical. “I don’t know about that. I mean, if the police really cared they’d be knocking on our door already.”
“You ‘killed’ me in front of a dozen witnesses." Dimitri held up three fingers and bluffed, “In fact, I bet an officer will show up in three… two… one…”
Just as he lowered his last finger, the door shook with a few rumbling knocks. Katsura put Dimitri down, shifted to her human form, and sat back down as if she’d been doing homework the entire time. Tilly rocked on her heels and whistled a cheesy pop tune to herself. Dimitri brushed himself off and swung the door open. He was greeted by a pair of beefy cops who glared down at him, arms crossed and backs straight like they owned the place.
“Good evening, officers. What brings you to our apartment on this fine Friday night?”
The officer who’d knocked on the door looked Dimitri up and down and glanced around the apartment, unimpressed by his sweet voice. “We heard about a possible attempted assault at the bus stop down the street. The suspect matched the description of your friend over there,” he said, nodding in Tilly’s direction. Tilly paused mid-rock and whistled a horrified dun-dun-dun-dunnn.
“Really? I didn’t hear anything about that. And honestly, I doubt you did either.”
“Excuse me?”
Dimitri pulled out his wallet and thumbed through the bills he had tucked in it, just to make sure he had enough. He was in a high enough tax bracket that he didn’t need to carry physical money around, but he always kept some on him just in case. He took out a crisp hundred-dollar bill and offered it to the officer. “Have you forgotten why you’re here yet?”
The officer swatted Dimitri’s hand away. “What? You can’t bribe me with just a hundred dollars.”
“How about two hundred? Three hundred? Four? Maybe you and your colleague can have five hundred each?” Dimitri kept producing bills until the officer’s frown turned into a face of resignation. He snatched the money, split it up with his partner, and stomped off.
Dimitri shut the door and spun around to face Tilly and Katsura. Tilly’s jaw had dropped and Katsura nodded slightly in acknowledgment. “And that’s why you should keep me alive.”
“You seem valuable,” Katsura admitted, “but why are you so eager to help?”
“Because I’ve also roomed with a carnivore before. I don’t think eating people is the best idea, but I don’t blame you for wanting to. Finding good prey is difficult these days anyway, right?”
Tilly shook her head and crossed her arms in the shape of an X. “Wait, don’t get it twisted! Katsura’s great at finding food, but she struggles with actually getting it.”
Katsura dragged out a sigh and slumped in her chair. “My executive function is… bad. I am working on it.”
“So I’m helping her out in the meantime!” Tilly wagged her finger and added, “And before you say anything, I’m not crazy! I just really love my girlfriend.”
Dimitri gave Tilly a double thumbs-up. “That’s valid. Love wins, am I right?”
Katsura nodded sagely in agreement. “Love does indeed win.”
Tilly fingergunned Dimitri in response. “Yeah, totally! Also, I’m so sorry about dragging you all the way out here. I should give you something to make up for it! Like, I made dinner tonight! It’s this su-u-u-uper good casserole — let me get it from the fridge.” Tilly skipped off towards the kitchen without a second thought.
Dimitri glanced at Katsura and saw her rapidly shaking her head, mouthing, “She CANNOT cook.”
“No, thank you,” Dimitri started, wanting to save himself from a ruined appetite. “I actually originally planned to meet up with some friends tonight—”
“Uh, your original plans don’t matter! Where I’m from, no one refuses an act of hospitality.” Tilly had returned holding a tray of half-finished green casserole. Dimitri couldn’t tell what the “green” was supposed to be for the life of him.
“And where might that be?” He asked, inching towards the door.
Tilly caught on to what he was doing immediately. She set the tray on the counter and bolted between Dimitri and the door, a dangerously excited look in her eyes. “Northeastern Virginia! C’mon, sit down while I make you a plate!”
Dimitri resigned to his fate and sat down at the table. The casserole smelled expired, even though Tilly had reportedly cooked it yesterday. Katsura excused herself, saying, “I will get some dinner that is actually dead. Goodbye.” She speedwalked out of the door, leaving Dimitri alone with Tilly. He maintained a smile and mentally prepared himself for a bad time.
