Summary: Cute little party. A little short because I'm not feeling well.

"Your cat is trying to kill me!" Your assistant screamed from his stool.

You turned around to find the little orange menace (that you had nicknamed Cheddar) curiously pacing around him, occasionally reaching to scratch at his legs. To Mammon's relief, you walked over and retrieved the wild animal.

"What a brave man, facing a beast this size," you taunted him, as you gently pat Cheddar. He purred gently under your touch.

The fake blond scoffed. "For your information, I'm very brave! I just don't care about being scratched."

"I was talking to the cat," you said with a sideways grin. Red builds up on his cheeks.

"Hey! I'm no beast! You should be grateful I'm even hel-." He tripped, almost falling off the stool. You held out one arm and pushed him back to equilibrium. However, that didn't stop him from screaming for dear life. Cheddar ran away to the play zone for some quiet time.

"I already got you."

You walked away to let him finish hanging the lights. The cake was safely hidden away in the kitchen, and you had everything else done. The banner with their names was already in place, over three tables you had pushed together to make a single large one. You put a large blue tablecloth over them and laid an assortment of snacks, sandwiches, and sodas alongside it.

You even lowered the lights and closed off the curtains, so the LED constellation you made could show off.

"It's done!" Mammon announced, standing proudly and admiring his work.

"Well done," You pat his shoulder. "You should go sit down, it's almost time."

As soon as you said that, Beelzebub crashed with the locked door behind you. You turned around and opened it for him.

"Are you okay?" You asked, but he was already running inside and looking at the decorations with amazement. Somehow a bowl of chips made it into his arms too.

"Beelzebub!" Lucifer's commanding voice almost shook the walls, but somehow didn't have any effects on Beel.

"Lucy!" He answered, finally sitting down at one of the seats of honor you had prepared.

Lucifer didn't seem very pleased, so of course you offered him a party hat.

Quickly all the guests made their way inside, including two men around Lucifer's age who you didn't recognize. A muscle wall of a man who laughed very loudly and a smaller pale man wearing a suit. However, you were more interested in the smallest guest of honor.

Belphegor was riding one of his sibling's backs, like always. This time, [Leviathan] had the honor. When they came in, his eyes opened up wider than usual and he jumped down to the floor. He spent a few silent moments just walking around and looking at the lights with a tiny smile. You weren't expecting a big reaction from him, just seeing him enjoying something for once was enough. It made all the work worth it. Finally, he went up to Lucifer for a hug.

"I love it, thanks." He said, just loud enough for you to hear.

"Uh? But he didn't even-" Mammon started to speak, but you elbowed him before he could go on.

"Who's ready for some party games?!" You ask, ready to take over the role of host.

The two hours go by fast, and not a single second is dull. You learned a lot about the siblings that day, like everyone's favorite colors, which were listed out to you by Beelzebub at least three times. He really wanted to make sure you gave everyone the right hat.

You also learn that the big man's name is Diavolo, and he works with Lucifer. The other man was his butler, Barbatos, who proved to be very helpful. He picked up after everyone else, making it so you almost had nothing to clean at the end.

The highlight of the day, at least for you, was Satan introducing Felicia to his whole family. It was overall a good first impression, Lucifer even scratched her ears. Belphegor ended up napping with her for most of the day.

When it was time to sing Happy Birthday, you brought out the big guns. Of all the cakes you had ever made, this one was definitely your favorite. You had covered it in black, purple, and blue ganache, smudged together to get a galaxy design. All of the constellations and planets were hand painted with your own hands, and you sprayed edible glitter over the whole thing. You place it down in front of the birthday boy, with two candles and two sparklers on top.

"That's not a basic cake," Lucifer looked at you with those suspicious eyes again.

"I went a little overboard while making it, don't worry, it's on me." You smiled but he didn't seem to like that. Whatever, there's nothing he could do about it.

"Thank you, Mc," Belphegor said with his sleepy voice. It was difficult to believe he was a teenager, with how small he looked and how quiet he was.

"It's nothing."

You ruffled his hair and lit up the candles. Everyone started singing, including the twins. They sang to each other, which you found unbelievably adorable. When the candles went out, you didn't waste any time cutting up the cake. Beel would have surely exploded if he had to wait a second more.

While everyone ate, you made your way to the back to start cleaning some of the crockery. Your head buzzed and your body felt more tired than ever. But hearing their laughs, you thought everything was worth it.

Anyways transfem noir headcanons (or should I say noire)

Her name is Penelope, she gets Penny'd and it drives Peni nuts (she also considered Petra, Bridgette, and Belladona). You'll will have to pay her to give up Penelope.

She found out after talking to Gwen, and she mentions something that Gwen recognises because she's been there, and she's like, "hey, you probably wont react well to what I'm about to say, but I think youre a trans woman." And Penelope's like "what? No, couldn't be me." Anyways they spend the next two weeks talking to a bunch of trans spiders and the therapist spider man and by the end of it Penelope's like "aw shit, this explains a lot." (At the same time they discover she's autistic. It's a very enlightening two weeks.)

Everyone's really opening and happy for her and she gets lots of hugs. Her favourite response was from Hobie, who said "I thought you already knew?"

The adults like to middle name her when she's in trouble. She mostly gets "Penelope Barnadette Parker"'d or "Penelope Bridgette Parker"'d, but on one occasion, from Miguel of all people, "Penelope Adrianna Parker," which scared the shit out of her (for obvious reasons if you're familiar with my blog)

Felicia and May find out completely by accident and are also really accepting, with Fel saying "I always wanted a daughter, just like you." Teresa and Eddie were also told. Eddie was like "damn I'm being overrun by sisters. Congratulations little sis." And Teresa's like "ooh yay! I prefer having a sister than two brothers!"

Felicia, May and Teresa go out and find some nice dresses and stuff, and Eddie starts gaslighting New York that Penelope's their cousin, Peter's gone to live with their other aunt and uncle.

The spider god help disguise Penelope's really recognisable features like her eyes and her teeth when they do this.

She's been invited to girls' day outs with Jess, Gwen, Margo, Peni and LYLA. She doesn't go often because oh god people, but she tries to go as often as she can. The first time she comes along after finding out/coming out, she gets pulled through the women's section in several clothes stores in several different worlds so they can find her some new clothes. LYLA pays for it all from Miguel's funds and justifies it as a birthday present. When Penelope's like "it's not my birthday", LYLA says "well, recently was the birth of the real you, and I count that."

No one actually knows when Penelope's birthday is, so they all just decide to celebrate her coming out day as her birthday

Now this all with Penelope in the spider society, and there's no way she'd actually stick around, so I'd like to quickly go over that: Penelope and Ham are both told that Miles's world can't be located, and just don't get told about "canon events" because Penelope is absolutely a murder risk.

Penelope gets kicked out the day she finds out that Miles' location is known, Miguel just hates him for no reason, she flips out in typically the Spider fashion, and attacks him. He slices through her hair with his claws in the attack and traps her in one of those red cage thingies.

The adults are desperately telling him not to send her home, it's not safe, the portal will open where she left from and that was in the middle of a men's prison. Ham goes on strike after Miguel sends her back, agreeing with Hobie and Margo that they'll try to find Miles then skidaddle. Ham goes to her world to help protect her until they can find Miles.

Ham helps clean up her hair cut while she cries because she hates her hair being cut and she doesn't want it to go too short, but Miguel sliced it to just above her shoulders. Ham tidies it so it's just below her chin, and he makes sure to style it so it's as wild and volumous as she usually keeps it in an attempt to cheer her up.

She pads her uniform vest, justifying it to the others as some "extra armouring", so it looks like she has breasts, albeit small. She doesn't want anything big.

She also changed the trousers for something more baggy so her crotch just looks a bit like the trousers pinned in strangely when she attached her leg holsters

Margo paints her nails/claws different colours sometimes

Gwen showed her how to do makeup to make her face shape look a bit different. She only uses it when she's out with the girls, and leans into a sort of goth punk aesthetic. This leads to people thinking her natural eye colour is just some really funky eye contacts and it's the only time she doesn't feel horrible about them.

She's got a bit of a reputation in Gwen's world for a number of reasons but mostly for beating up four men while wearing heeled boots (they were spikey, she will admit, but she barely kicked them). In Gwen's world, if you're gonna be a dick, you gotta fear the yellow eyed goth chick taking away your breathing privileges

Brenda. She's great and she's fun, she's a young person learning to navigate the world. Found family trope for days.

Mrs Devine. Adore her. Also fun, and she's bright and intuitive and inquisitive. Drives like a mad lady. Outfits always on point.

Chief Inspector Sullivan. He's back, never going to complain. He's softened and we get to see more aspects of his character, like his interests and hobbies outside of work.

Sleeping Beauty Spring: "O Šípkové Růžence" ("Briar Rose") (2006 Czech TV film)

Here we find a third Czech Sleeping Beauty: it's clear that the Czech love their fairy tale films! This TV version first aired during the Christmas season of 2006. It features a script written in poetic verse, by the poet Jirí Zácek, and it shows some influence from the 1978 film Jak se budí princezny, but features enough creative twists to give it a unique identity of its own.

Unfortunately, I don't speak Czech and had to watch the film without English subtitles. But for the most part, the plot was self-evident enough to let me understand what was happening onscreen, and I found an online synopsis of the film that provided further details.

The first ten minutes of this Sleeping Beauty show us the backstory of Princess Růženka's parents. A young King (David Svehlík) longs for a wife, and a glamorous, ambitious young fairy named Isabela (Hana Vagnerová) resolves to be his queen. So when the King hosts a bride-finding ball, she attends along with her foster mothers, the three good fairies Týna (Zlata Adamovská), Mína (Veronika Freimanová), and Vesna (Simona Postlerová). These fairies are ethereal, transparent blue figures in their natural form, but take the shape of elegantly dressed human ladies when they interact with people.

Unfortunately for Isabela, the King is drawn instead to the fairies' other ward, the sweet, shy Felicia. When he choses Felicia as his bride, Isabela vows revenge, which she eventually takes after Felicia gives birth to a daughter. At Princess Růženka's christening, she curses the princess to prick her finger on a rose thorn and die on her sixteenth birthday. Of course the good fairy Vesna softens the curse from death to sleep, but nonetheless, the King has every rosebush in the kingdom uprooted and burned.

Sixteen years later, we reach another plot twist: this is a rare version of Sleeping Beauty where the heroine's love interest is a commoner. Princess Růženka (Marika Soposká) is close friends with a young gardener named Janek (Daniel Volný), and both clearly want to be more than friends. But the King insists that his daughter must marry a prince, and when he catches them in each other's arms, he banishes Janek from the castle. Soon afterward, Růženka's birthday arrives, and for her safety, her parents lock her in a guarded tower for the day. But this does no good against a fairy who can teleport; Isabela appears and gives Růženka a red rose, and Růženka pricks her finger. The entire court falls asleep with her, and Isabela surrounds the castle with thick hedges. The good fairies can't break the spell, but they retaliate by turning Isabela into a golden figurine.

Like the 1978 Czech film and the Disney film, this version of the tale reduces the enchanted sleep from a hundred years to a much shorter time span, so the young man Růženka already loves can wake her. Eventually the news of the spell reaches Janek at an inn. It also reaches a handsome yet dandyish young prince named Matyáš (Michal Slaný), who resolves to wake Růženka and employs Janek to lead him to the castle. When they arrive, Matyáš tries vainly to cut through the hedges with his sword, but Janek uses his knowledge of plants to clear them away more successfully, and with further, unseen help from fairy Vesna's magic, they enter the castle. When they find the sleeping Růženka, predictably, Matyáš's kiss fails to wake her, but then Janek kisses her and the spell is broken.

It's not yet time for the happy ending, however. Matyáš lies to the royal family that his own kiss broke the spell, and so Růženka is betrothed reluctantly to the prince. When Janek tries to reveal the truth, no one believes him. Not even Růženka, who shuns her true love in favor of her pending marriage of duty. Nor does she believe Janek when he tries to warn her of a dark secret he overhears: that Matyáš isn't really a prince, but a robber's son. Fortunately, the fairy Vesna intervenes again, and shows Růženka and her parents a letter written by Matyáš to his father that reveals the whole truth. Růženka and Janek reconcile, and a trick to get rid of Matyáš is planned. The fairies bring Isabela back to life and convince her to disguise herself in Růženka's wedding veil. Only after the marriage vows does Matyáš realize he's wed an imposter; the fairies then turn them both into rats. After this, the real Růženka and a newly-knighted Janek are married and everyone joyfully dances at their wedding feast.

Some of this version's creative plot twists I like, others less so, but they're most definitely interesting. And while this is clearly a TV film, not cinema, it's a charming production all the same, with a strong cast and solid special effects, with the medieval Žleby Castle as its main filming location, and with colorful 18th century costumes. It's also an interesting choice to have the dialogue in poetic verse, though since I don't speak Czech, I can't say how well it works.

This might not be my favorite Sleeping Beauty, or even my favorite Czech version of the tale, but I'm very glad to have seen it.

I have such mixed feelings about seeing Edvin, Felicia, Fabian and all their friends in Italy on vacation.

Mostly, I'm happy for them. They look like their having fun and enjoying life and that's all I ever want for most people.

That said, I am also quite jealous for numerous reasons. One is simply money. It must be nice to have enough money to travel to another country, rent a beautiful house, and spend at least a week there. Last week alone, I worked over 50 hours including one 13 hour day and my paycheck will barely be more than average. I know for many people including actors, that can be normal but compensation makes a difference. I'll give you one guess what glorious (*sarcasm) country I live in. I'm tired of working every extra hour I can and barely having enough for bills. I'm just tired.

Mostly, though, I'm jealous of their friendship and that they even went together on vacation. Let me explain. I don't have any friends. I rarely did. Growing up I had "friends" in the sense of having people to hang out with at school but we rarely hung out after school, rarely did things together unless it was dances or something like that. And when we graduated, I never heard from anyone again. And the older I got the worse it got. I've tried and tried to make friends but they all leave or they say we're friends but never invite me to join them or hang out and eventually shut me out. I never had any close friends and never had what should be very common experiences.

It really slammed home last week when I was reading some asks on an Edvin blog and someone made the comment of it was obvious some fans were never close enough to have never followed the parents of their friends. I've never done that and it was such a strange concept to me. Though, keep in mind, I'm a fair bit older than most of Edvin's fan and social media didn't really become a thing until I was in college/university. But even now, I'm simply not close enough to anyone to do that and would actually feel a little awkward to do it to be honest, but that's me.

Anyway, the fact is that I just don't have friends. No one to hang out with, celebrate birthdays, have dinner with, go on vacation with, no one to post silly pics on birthdays or just because. No one to fangirl over things like Young Royals, Disney, Taylor Swift, or anything else. I don't even have anybody to text with really. Seeing Edvin and Felicia and all their friends just reminds me of how very lonely I am and have always been, all much I missed out on. I'm envious of something that is so natural and easy for most people. Most people have friends. Most people have these kinds of experiences. And I just never did.

Again, this is not on Edvin or Felicia or Mimi or Wilma or Fabian. They don't know or care that I exist and I hope they have many more vacations with their friends and continue to be comfortable to share them. Like I said, I truly love seeing people getting to have those experiences and living life the way it should be. I hope everybody does.

This was more just to get my own thoughts down about it. It was something that has been on my mind since last week and I needed to get it out.

It's interesting though. Most people dream of romance and finding that perfect partner. All I have ever wanted was friends.

Electro sat in his cell at the end of the hall waiting for Felicia to visit him again; she is the only person in Oscorp to be kind to him and when she told him about bringing him and others like himself together,but not for revenge, to start over, he didn't think that was possible for him.

Especially things he did and how everyone already saw him as:

Electro- Spider-Man's enemy.

He just fought for revenge,

"...fight for love..."

Those words stuck with him. They've always liked each other; he caught her looking at him and immediately looking away blushing, causing him to smile. They never got a chance to talk, since they were both busy.

One day she rode the elevator with him.

She looked up at him and her eyes lit up,

"Happy birthday Max!" She smiled brightly.

That infectious smile

"Thanks!" He smiled. "...you know my name...and my birthday?" He said with genuine surprise at this; he was used having everyone forgetting his name.

"...I do...I promise I'm not weird, I know because it was on your file when Mr osborn had me organize everyone's files..." she nervously spoke too fast.

His smile nearly fell, when she added,

"...just so you know...I only pay attention to one's I like..." she said it as she exited the elevator. She cringed at herself at her attempt to flirt.

His smile got bigger as the doors closed and felt hopeful that someone liked him.

Yes, she liked Max Dillon.

She likes him still, both Electro AND Max

She appeared before him smiling,

"You ready Max? "

"Definitely."

And the escape begins.

This Day in X-Project - July 22

Angelo Espinosa's birthday. 2015: Hope A. emails Wade about their lesson for tomorrow and how she won’t be able to make it due to work. Felicia posts another instantgram photo about her shoot. Amanda posts the topic for the next Magical 101 class - Magical Dimensions; Amanda emails Megan about Magic class and how it is just them two until Topaz gets back. Jean leaves pens for Angelo. Wade texts Marie-Ange that he left Hope A. a box of locks and told her to pick them. Amanda says happy birthday to Angelo.

2016: Amanda wishes Angelo a happy birthday.

2017: Maya is excited about the first UK sign language poetry slam. Amanda emails X-Force about the Winding Way causing problems with the reliability of the occult network.

2018: Sins of the Father: Jubilee texts Amanda to let her know the information she asked for is at a drop point waiting for her; Bobby is the next victim of the curse; Miles is sick with worry when Bobby doesn’t answer his texts; Jean posts an update on the situation on xp_journal.

2019: Sooraya and Angelo talk about the possibility of X-Corps being revived.

2020:

2021: Arise, X-Man: Laurie is rather bitter after a physiotherapy session and posts a poem, Icarus Laughed When He Fell. For Angelo’s birthday, Amanda suggests a dinner at Mama Lupe’s for the ‘old timers’. Darcy is perplexed by Southern recipes involving gelatin. A new aspect of Hope A.'s powers emerges during a training session with Jean and Quentin gets dragged into it.

2022: Gabriel bemoans losing the mansion's human ice machine and works by the pool.

2023: Terry texts Darcy to let her know she's left food for her. April messages the Grad Girls of the mansion to clue them into the places Sooraya's been asking about. Jean-Phillipe announces that it is Angelo's birthday and people are welcome to join the celebration.
