"Speaking to Al Jazeera, Omer Bartov, a professor of Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Brown University, says Israeli officials, both in Netanyahu’s coalition and in the opposition, have been speaking more openly about making Gaza unlivable for Palestinians.
“There have been ongoing statements in recent days … which seem to indicate a particular plan the Israeli government seems to want to implement, which is not only to create unbearable conditions for the population of Gaza, but actually to speak about removing the population,” he said.
“Or as one minister [far-right finance minister] Smotrich said, to encourage them to leave Gaza either to the Sinai Peninsula or to other countries that would welcome them,” Bartov said.
“Or that Israel would rule that area and as this particular minister said, there should be discussions about settling the Gaza Strip,” he said, adding if the current trajectory continues, the world is witnessing an operation of “ethnic cleansing under the mantle of humanitarian action”.

American Muslim leaders carried on a campaign launched earlier this month against President Joe Biden over his handling of the Gaza conflict.
#AbandonBiden campaign was first launched by Muslim leaders from Michigan, Minnesota, Arizona, Wisconsin, Florida, Georgia, Nevada and Pennsylvania.
Saturday’s plan to actively campaign against Biden in all 50 US states was announced in Chicago, Illinois at the end of a national convention organised by the Muslim American Society and Islamic Circle of North America.
The leaders say they intend to guarantee Biden’s loss in the upcoming 2024 election over his refusal to call for a ceasefire in Gaza, where Israeli attacks have killed more than 21,000 people, mostly children and women.
“The president betrayed us because he violated the value of dignity and life. What’s the point of voting for you when you deny 2.2 million [in Gaza] people water?” said Hassan Abdel Salam, a spokesperson for the campaign.

" Prime Minister Netanyahu thanked the Biden administration for its continued backing, including approval for a new emergency weapons sale, the second this month.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken made a similar decision on December 9 to approve the sale to Israel of nearly 14,000 rounds of tank ammunition worth more than $106m.
Some Democratic lawmakers have spoken of making a proposed $14.3bn in American military assistance to Israel contingent on concrete steps by Netanyahu’s government to reduce civilian casualties in Gaza.
Netanyahu says Israel needs more time in Gaza.
“As the chief of staff said this week, the war will continue many more months. My policy is clear. We will continue to fight until we have achieved all the objectives of the war, first and foremost the annihilation of Hamas and the release of all the hostages.”
Keep protesting and boycotting and calling your reps and blocking ships and railroads

[TASK 147: OMAN]
In celebration of Asian American Heritage Month, here’s a masterlist below compiled of over 160+ Omani faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. If you want an extra challenge use random.org to pick a random number! Of course everything listed below are just suggestions and you can pick whichever faceclaim or whichever project you desire.
Any questions can be sent here and all tutorials have been linked below the cut for ease of access! REMEMBER to tag your resources with #TASKSWEEKLY and we will reblog them onto the main! This task can be tagged with whatever you want but if you want us to see it please be sure that our tag is the first five tags, @ mention us or send us a messaging linking us to your post!
THE TASK - scroll down for FC’s!
STEP 1: Decide on a FC you wish to create resources for! You can always do more than one but who are you starting with? There are links to masterlists you can use in order to find them and if you want help, just send us a message and we can pick one for you at random!
STEP 2: Pick what you want to create! You can obviously do more than one thing, but what do you want to start off with? Screencaps, RP icons, GIF packs, masterlists, PNG’s, fancasts, alternative FC’s - LITERALLY anything you desire!
STEP 3: Look back on tasks that we have created previously for tutorials on the thing you are creating unless you have whatever it is you are doing mastered - then of course feel free to just get on and do it. :)
STEP 4: Upload and tag with #TASKSWEEKLY! If you didn’t use your own screencaps/images make sure to credit where you got them from as we will not reblog packs which do not credit caps or original gifs from the original maker.

Sally Abdel-Salam Becomes a Fashion Icon
It is no secret that Sally Abdel-Salam is the radio’s sweetheart. We thank the universe and Tarek Abu El-Souod for giving Sally the amazing opportunity to be a presenter. She said herself that she’d be a legend, and here she is, living up to what she said. Known for her spontaneity, honesty, great sense of humor and outstanding personality, she has earned the love of many. Not only has she gained a huge audience from her creative, humorous radio programs, but she also dazzled people on social media platforms, building an even bigger base that admires her and her style.
Tumblr media
Apart from being a remarkable radio and even TV host, she’s also been credited for being a fashion icon. She keeps serving tremendous looks and great content featuring gorgeous makeup, charming hairstyles and elegant outfits to the point where she became among the leading fashion and beauty icons in the Arab World.
Tumblr media
With an Instagram following of 889k, she takes it upon herself to give style tips and lessons through her personal account – something we all appreciate. Recently, Abdel-Salam even topped Google search engines and was trending after appearing on her show titled ‘Qesa Haqeqya’. In that episode, she recounted the story that has put her in a bad mental state for a period of time, referring to her cancelled wedding. As a result, she started crying on air and praised her fans and audience for their immense support for her, saying, “We started this show to make you happy. I never imagined that your messages and comments would make me happy.”
Tumblr media
She went on explaining how her wedding was supposed to be this month but instead it got cancelled. “I showed up at the studio crying multiple times this month before going on-air.” With that said, Sally is a great reminder for how strong every woman going through a heartbreak phase in her life should live and how she dealt with it must have been relatable and inspiring for many.

Houthi rebels end drone, missile attacks on Saudi Arabia
Tumblr media
Yemen’s Iran-linked Houthi rebels said late Friday that they were halting drone and ballistic missile attacks on Saudi Arabia. The Houthi rebels have claimed recent attacks on major Saudi oil facilities. “We hope Riyadh will respond in a positive way to this initiative. “And if Saudi Arabia does not respond to the initiative and resumes bombing, we will have the right to respond to it,” said Mahdi al-Mashat. Al-Mashat is head of the so-called Supreme Houthi Political Council in a recorded speech broadcast by the movement’s Al-Masirah television. He called on the international community to stop what he described as “its abusive practices” and its underestimation of the suffering of the Yemeni people. Al-Mashat called for immediately lifting the ban on Sana’a airport and to cease intercepting ships heading to Hodeida port. The Houthi official stressed that “the continuation of the war will not be in anyone’s interest and may lead to serious developments.” Earlier Friday, a Saudi-led military alliance fighting the Houthis in Yemen said that it had mounted airstrikes against the rebels. A spokesman for the coalition, Turki al-Maliki, said the alliance had carried out an operation against “hostile” Houthi targets north of the coastal province of Hodeida in western Yemen, according to the Saudi news agency SPA. Al-Maliki accused the rebels of using Hodeida for launching ballistic missiles, drones and remote-controlled explosive boats and deploying naval mines. He added that the alliance had a “legitimate right to take and implement the appropriate deterrence measures with these legal military targets.” Rebel spokesman Mohammed Abdel-Salam called the strikes a “dangerous escalation” that undermine a UN-brokered ceasefire agreement reached in Sweden last December. “The alliance has to bear consequences of this escalation,” Abdel-Salam added in a press statement. Tensions have run high since the weekend after the attacks on Saudi oil facilities. Saudi Arabia and the United States have blamed the attacks on Iran. Tehran denies involvement. In Beirut, the chief of Lebanon’s pro-Iranian Hezbollah movement, Hassan Nasrallah, advised Saudi Arabia to stop its years-long military campaign in Yemen. “It proves to us that oil is more expensive than blood,” Nasrallah said, referring to the attack on the Saudi oil sites. He added that no one was killed in the attack, while thousands have been killed in Yemen’s war. Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have led the campaign in Yemen against the Houthis since March 2015. “Stop betting on the Americans and their failed administration,” Nasrallah said, addressing Saudi Arabia. “It will be less costly for the Saudis and the Emirates to protect their installations by stopping the war on the Yemeni people,” he added at a ceremony in southern Beirut. In recent months, the Houthis have launched a string of drone and missile attacks into Saudi territory, which the rebels say are to defend themselves against the coalition’s strikes. The power struggle between the Saudi-backed government and the Houthis has left Yemen, already one of the Arab world’s poorest countries, with a famine and massive damage to infrastructure. Iran Behind Attacks on Saudi Arabia
LOS ANGELES (OnlineColumnist.com), May 15, 2019.--Hitting Saudi Arabia’s oil tankers and pipeline with predator drone attacks, Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels claimed responsibility, prompting the U.S. State Department to order non-essential personnel out of Iraq.   Saudi Oil Minister Khaid al-Falih Al Falih called the attacks “cowardly,” but pointed fingers at Iranian backed militias. Yemen’s Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for the attack on the two oil tankers and pipeline going from Riyadh to an oil hub on the Red Sea.  “This is a message to Saudi Arabia:  Stop your aggression.” Said Houthi spokesman Mohammed Abdel-Salam.  “Our goal is to respond to the crimes they are committing everyday against the Yemeni people,” Since 72-year-old Donald Trump pulled out of the Iranian Nuke Deal May 8, 2018 tensions have escalated between Iran and the U.S. and its No. 1 oil-producing ally in the region, Saudi Arabia. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin has sanction countries doing business with Iran.
Only yesterday, Iranian P:resident Hassan Rouhani gave the European Union 60 days to resolve oil sales with Iran or face the Islamic Republic’s re-upping its weapons grade uranium enrichment program.  Iran’s threat to produce weapons grade fissile material runs counter to Iran insisting that its uranium enrichment p;ogram was for “peaceful purposes.” Israeli Prime Minister knew what Iran was up to when he spoke to a joint session of Congress March 8, 2015 warning the U.S. and world of Iran’s nuclear intentions.  Yet former President Barack Obama went full steam ahead with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Act AKA Iran Nuke Deal, using the U.N. Security Counsel, including, the U.K, France, Russia, China and Germany, to sign the deal Oct. 28, 2015.  Iran received $2 billion in cash and $150 billion in sanctions relief, emboldening the Islamic Republic to finance its aggressive foreign policy, now leading to attack on Saudi’s oil infrastructure.
Over 500 miles from the Yemen front, U.S. and Saudi officials weren’t certain from what staging point Houthis flew the predator drones hitting the Kingdom’s two oil pumping centers. Saudi’s State-owned oil company Aramco said it shutdown the pipeline stretching from Riyadh to the Yanbu port on the Red Sea. To hit Saudi’s pumping stations and oil tanker the drones would have had to fly hundreds of miles, suggesting, they were launched by Iranian positions closer to the pipeline  While denied by Tehran, the Houthi rebels could only receive drone equipment from Iran or allow another Iranian-backed Shiite militia like Hezbollah to carry out the attacks.  With closer proximity to Iran, it’s possible the drone attacks originated inside Iranian territory.  Wherever the drones launched, they were no doubt Iranian-made equipment, technology no other country has in the region.Ordering non-essential personnel out of Iraq, the Pentagon sees risk to U.S. forces in proximity to Iran.
Trump denied reports in the New York Times that the U.S. was deploying 120,000 troops to the region to deal with growing Iranian threat.  Intel from the region indicated that Iran or its surrogates, including the Iranian Revolutionary Guard {IRGC], were preparing to attack U.S. positions in Iraq and Syria.  “U.S. citizens in Iraq are at high risk for violence and kidnapping. Numerous terrorist and insurgent groups are active in Iraq and regularly attack both Iraqi Security Forces and civilians.  Anti-U.S. sectarian militias may also threaten U.S. citizen and Western companies throughout Iraq,” said the U.S. State Department.  Secretary of State Mike Pompeo  said yesterday that he did not have any “concrete” evidence that Iran was behind the drone attacks in Saudi Arabia, he also didn’t rule it out. Iran has grown more belligerent since Trump began restricting iran’s oil sales, crippling the economy and driving down Iran’ Rial currency to historic lows.
Threatening violence against the U.S., Iran said it would block the Strait of Homuz through which 25% of the world’s oil travels.  Trump is less concerned about Iranian threats than surrogates like the IRGC or other insurgent Shiite groups backed by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to advance Iran’s agenda.  Issuing its warning to non-essential personnel in Iraq, the State Department clear responds to intel related to recent attacks on Saudi oil tankers and pumping installation. No one believes that Yemen’s Houthi rebels have the resources for predator drones and intermediate-range ballistic missiles, something Houthis have fired at Riyadh’s Internationa Airp;ort. As Iran get more desperate, threatening to start uranium enrichment, the White House is taking contingency plans seriously. Fearing a war with Iran, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said a war with Iran would be “idiotic.”  Sanders warned that a war with Iran would be far more dangerous than Iraq.
Hitting Saudi oil tankers and oil pumping stations all point to Iran or its surrogates in the Middle East.  Trump officials see a growing Iranian threat due to the ongoing sanctions, preventing Iran from selling oil to U.S. allies in the EU and Asia. Threatening to ramp up uranium enrichment activity, Iran exposes its real intentions, even before they signed the Iranian Nuke Deal Oct. 28, 2015.  Increasing uranium enrichment activity doesn’t help Iran’s inability under current U.S. sanctions to sell its oil into world markets, except by supplying third parties to move around petroleum branded under different states.  Trump’s decision to order a carrier strike force with B-52 bombers to the Persian Gulf put maximum pressure on Iran to stop attacking Saudi tanker or oil pumping stations.  No one in the Middle East has the drone technology other than Iran to launch attacks on Saudis. Trump wants to put Iran on notice to cease-and-desist destabilizing world oil supplies.
