Aloha, I'm back from Honolulu! Of all the places of interest we have visited (of course, these are all fun activities and some were my very first experience, like snorkeling and parasailing) my favorite is Shangri la, the museum of Islamic art, which was founded by Doris Duke, who was an American heiress and philanthropist, also played a very important role spreading out the world on Islamic art.
I was simply amazed by all the stunning details, energy, and colors, also the architecture and tropical surroundings... everything in there was just blowing out my mind! Just like it was described - a house in paradise...
I was sitting in one of the showrooms, appreciating the patterned bricks, and objects around me which were collected from all around the world while I was able to see them all at once, meanwhile the birds were singing, the sky was so blue, and the breeze was so warm, I could also hear the ocean waves were kissing the rocks... Everything was happening at the same time and it felt so unreal. I then started to think, about how one can make such a positive impact on this world, even just one direction/ branch of the art history, she used her own superpower and made such a difference to the world! She's such a role model, and has inspired me a lot! If you ever visit Hawaii, please make sure to stop by Shangri la, or just simply being there will widen your eyes✨✨✨
Here are some precious moments captured while I was there that I could treasure for a long time... Mahalo🙏

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A new art installation at the Hawaii State Arm Museum is showing the strength of homeless youth in the state.
The exhibit is called “Not All Backpacks Carry the Same Weight.”
It features 60 backpacks designed by youth who are struggling with homelessness. On the bags are written phrases, colors and adornments reflecting the artists’ personal journeys, struggles and dreams.
The exhibit was created through the Residential Youth Services & Empowerment program, also known as “RYSE,” and done in collaboration with Moanalua High School’s English honors classes.
It was also led by international artist Fatiha Kheddaoui and Dominique Meyer Gere.
Organizers said the exhibit aims to shed light on the urgent issue of youth homelessness in the community.
The installation began Saturday and runs through June 5.

Vincent Price propaganda, I also want to point out he was an art historian and worked with many native american communities to promote their art and getting artifacts returned to them. He even donated a totem pole that was originally stolen by John Barrymore im 1931 to the Honolulu museum of art and has simce been returned to Alaska where it was originally from. We love Vincent Price in this house.

Torii Kiyomasu I Kintoki and a Bear 1700 c. :Honolulu Museum of Art Kintoki, legendary in Japan for his strength, wrestles with a black bear, the animal he is traditionally associated with. He is also identifiable by the character “kin” displayed on his garments. Kiyomasu (I ) was famous for depicting powerful Kabuki scenes in the aragoto (rough) style. ""Gourd legs"" (the exaggeration of the leg muscles) and ""earthworm lines"" (the curvilinear outline of the figure) convey a sense of power and violent action very characteristic of this artist. (from Daring Moves Exhibition, 8/1/06-)
