Samurai code of honour

The Samurai code of honour is commonly known as Bushido, which translates to "Way of the Warrior" in English. Bushido is a moral and ethical code followed by the samurai class in feudal Japan. While the specific details of Bushido may have varied over time and between different samurai clans, some key principles were generally upheld. These principles include:

Rectitude (Gi): This emphasizes moral and ethical correctness. Samurai were expected to act with integrity and make decisions based on a strong sense of justice.

Courage (Yū): Samurai were expected to exhibit bravery in the face of adversity and to confront danger without fear. This aspect of Bushido often emphasized the willingness to face death in battle.

Benevolence (Jin): Samurai were expected to show compassion and kindness towards others. They were encouraged to be generous, charitable, and to act in a humane manner.

Respect (Rei): This involves showing respect to others, especially to those in authority. Samurai were expected to be polite and to uphold social etiquette.

Honor (Makoto or Meiyo): Honor was considered of utmost importance. Samurai were expected to maintain their personal honor and the honor of their family and clan. They were prepared to commit seppuku (a form of ritual suicide) to regain lost honor or to avoid disgrace.

Loyalty (Chūgi): Samurai were expected to be loyal to their lord (daimyō) and to follow orders without question. Loyalty was a key aspect of the samurai's relationship with their feudal lord.

Self-Control (Jisei): Samurai were expected to exercise self-discipline and control over their emotions. They were to remain calm and composed even in challenging situations.

Filial Piety (Kō): This principle emphasized the importance of respecting and honoring one's parents and ancestors. It was considered a fundamental virtue in Japanese society.

Wisdom (Chi or Chie): Samurai were encouraged to seek knowledge and wisdom. This included both academic knowledge and practical wisdom gained through experience.

The Bushido code served as a guide for samurai in their personal and professional lives. It was not a formal written code but was transmitted through oral tradition and written works. The exact interpretation and emphasis on each principle could vary among different samurai and regions in Japan.

Cloud computing refers to the delivery of hosted services via the internet. It enables the availability of all the data that the users need at all times. Shared resources are provided to devices like computers over the internet as a metered service. The cloud users have access to data, software, and storage resources without the need to know any details about the computing infrastructure like its location. Cloud computing is based on the convergence of infrastructure. This enables users to manage faster applications which require less maintenance. Cloud computing ensures a new means of collaboration through mobile devices. This paper explores the development of cloud computing and its legal, ethical, social and security implications. Future developments of the technology are also discussed. Background Cloud computing is a popular alternative to traditional software licensing. Cloud users access cloud computing through computers, smartphones, and tablets. Clouds can be public, private, community or hybrid. A public cloud supplies services to any internet user. It is available to the general public. Examples include IBM Smart Cloud and Google App engine. A private cloud provides services to limited number of users, like sole organizations. Examples include Eucalyptus and Amazon Virtual Private Cloud. A community cloud is shared among several organizations with common concerns, for instance, Microsoft Government Community Cloud. A hybrid cloud consists of two or more private, public or community clouds. An example is Windows Azure (Buyya et al., 2009). In a cloud computing system, running applications is shifted from the local computers to the cloud’s network. Cloud computing delivers three categories of services which include, Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service and Software as a Service models. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) enables the users to access, start and stop and configure virtual servers and storage. The users only pay for the capacity that they need. The cloud service users install and maintain operating systems and application software. Platform as a Service (PaaS) refers to applications hosted over the internet on the infrastructure of the provider. The cloud service providers provide a platform with a web server, operating system, database and programming language execution environment. Software solutions can be run on the platform without incurring costs of purchasing and managing hardware and software. In the Software as a Service (SaaS) model the service provider supplies the software and hardware. Both the application and data are hosted by the service provider and therefore, the user can access the service from everywhere. The cloud users also do not have to install and run the application on their computers and therefore, support and maintenance are made easier (Gillam, 2010). Potential Benefits of Cloud Computing Cloud computing has various benefits. Firstly, it leads to reduced costs in the organization. The expenditure on information technology is reduced. The costs incurred in installing, managing, maintaining and upgrading software and hardware are reduced since business applications are provided and managed by the cloud computing service providers. Staffing costs are also reduced as minimal technical expertise is required since the cloud service providers manage information technology operations. Another benefit is scalability. With cloud computing, Information Technology requirements can be up-scaled and down-scaled when necessary. Cloud users can upgrade their packages to suit new business and market needs. This benefits businesses in that they do not have to incur expenses to change their IT systems (Arno, 2011). Cloud users also have access to new technologies. i accidentally made some interesting parallels / foils between Skiver & Lockblitz and like. i Cannot stop thinking about it & the possible interactions/bonds these two could have.

they would be so fucking Interesting to put in a room together. one born of function and duty & the other an unexpected complication, but they both have a certain reverence for their respective sibling. they both want the best for their loved one, and are willing to go to immense lengths for them.

they'd be at each other's throats, they'd be reluctant allies, they'd have that homoerrotic shonen manga Guy Best Friend Rival bond, they'd be already divorced-on-good-terms.

i feel like they'd kind of understand each other and yet be utterly perplexed by the other's devotion, because Skiver would Get It in the fact that Blitz is not only honorcode-bound to his charge, but also in the fact that Yeah i've got a sibling too and i wanna make sure they're safe.

And Blitz vice-versa, seeing that like. y'know. Skiver & Switch physically need each other due to that branched spark of theirs, but he can recognize a sibling bond when he sees it.

but then you throw in the fact that the twins are 'Cons (mostly) through and through, & the understanding ends. plus the fact that Switch would 100% want to kill Skytrap, due to him being wanted for defection & the slaughter of Many a prison guard, and Skiver would most likely go along with it. and that's also not even Mentioning their contract to re-kidnap Ash.

but like. even with all that, i feel like Blitz would get some kind of sense (if he spends enough time with Skiver) that he's primarily just doing all this to protect his loved one.

maybe this can only end in bloodshed, maybe it doesn't.

This whole BYU Honor Code thing has been a rollercoaster of emotion. I decided to try to create something to express how I was feeling about it and as you can see it’s bleak and messy. I’m confused and hurt and angry and used and frustrated. And somehow mad at myself for thinking things could change. The saddest part about it is seeing people’s dismissive and hurtful responses when so clearly LGBTQ+ members need a little compassion and understanding. Thank you to the allies that post and talk about this and thank you to all the queer people living fully and doing their best to be their best. ... The words #respect are often used and associated in martial arts. Those words are often empty words used on T-shirt’s , walls, banners and even inked on people’s bodies. Why say this you ask. Personally over the years the meaning of respect has changed for me.It was a forced condition brought on by peer pressure, expectations of those older, tradition and even fear of reprisal. With age it has become something much deeper and sincere. Respect at its very core and definition is a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements. It is personal and subjective to the values of the individual.Many say #respectisearned yet without standard to guide how is that made manifest. I will suggest this by way of a formula learned over time and interaction. Time and time again when I meet powerful people. Those I define as having great minds, great resources and great abilities singular or in combination. Respect comes from the way they interact with me. It is simple. Their words and actions can be forced upon me or shared with me.Their actions can break me or raise me stronger. So then I would say respect is when one can but chooses not to or better said chooses not to because they can. That they see the human being that they too are themselves.#skillisrank yet it is not enough to alone admire and look up to. I have not been personally hurt by the HCO. I don't have a story. But I do admire the people who have come forward and who are working to make a change. An administration cannot force honor, but the students can choose it. Today we choose love, honor, second chances, and accountability. We choose the Honor Code and to truly be honorable by standing up for what we believe in instead of sitting by and watching. I believe in and live the Honor Code and I do not regret that. Excessive punishment only promotes disobedience in secret. By making this University a safe place, a place where repentance is possible and where true honor is more important that whether or not you have a beard, we allow a truly honorable community to thrive. Those who are going to break the honor code are going to do it no matter what. Honestly,as brutal as Lariska is I'd like to imagine that she has a (loose) honorcode. And by this I mean that she outright refuses to kill civilians.

Sure, Lariska will kill any major figure or soldier she is ordered to or who stands in her way. But if its a normal civilian (Matoran or otherwise), I'd imagine she wouldn't kill them. Because killing innocents is going one step too far.

Any Pre FE7/Blazing Blade/Fire Emblem GBA was Japan exclusive and Gaiden had no remake, so yeah I can see the reason they removed the references in Awakening. Speaking of which, Alm is characterized in Awakening's spotpass/DLC content as much more boodthirsty/warmongering than he actually was in the original or the latter remake. As mentioned before, Alm is mainly battlehungry/hotheaded compared to Marth & always had a firm honorcode IE: no killing enemies that try to leave the battlefield.

That makes sense from what I remember.

Also side note: I ended up in a google rabbit hole because I remembered something about Celica’s DLC art being by a hentai artist and there being discourse about that, which lead me to looking for Alm’s DLC art to see if it was particularly blood thirsty and during that I found blue hair and pronouns Alm
