one of my professors from undergrad is quoted in that nymag article about AI in colleges, and man is it bleak to consider that a philospher and poet who was co-teaching honors classes with the head of the biology department a decade ago - quite difficult classes that i struggled with constantly and gained so much from! - is now ready to retire and thinks the newest college graduates will be functionally illiterate

college apps are pissing me off because why is every non-arts major expected to learn the skill in the college classes (as it should be) while the arts expects you to go into the college having all the skills already. i swear to god im putting in 3x the effort submitting shit for my art majors than my science majors.
