i know this is not my normal content and i'm fully taking advantage of the fact that this week the world has its eye on Mexico because of the upcoming GP to let you know that Acapulco has just been hit with one of the strongest hurricanes ever recorded in history and has been utterly devasted by Otis. There is no water, no food,no gas and no electricity (therefore no communications). The airport and highway are destroyed, so any way of help or relief will probably take days to arrive.

The damage is catastrophic.

I would truly appreciate it if you could help me spread the info below and if you are in a position to donate please consider doing so

Though her bones weighed that of lead, sleep came to Lena in conflict. Her mind was electric, furiously battling to knit everything together. She’d been on the backfoot to begin with, but to know that she had wasted so much time as an unwitting pawn in her brother’s machinations filled her with a specific and familiar dread. It was this same dread that had her fixated on a one word text, agonising over her reply. Deep down, Lena knew Max deserved far more than what she could currently give but despite it all, she was willing to try, even if it was at her own expense.

[PHONE RINGS]

(LENA): Max?

(MAX): I might do something stupid. 

(LENA): [sitting up]…Stupid how?

(MAX): As in really fucking dumb.

(LENA): Max I’m too tired for this, just tell me what’s wrong.

(MAX): [sniffling] Right. Well before I get into it, I should tell you that I am not sorry I blocked you. You really pissed me off that night and I refuse to be treated like a dickhead, but seeing as I’ve unblocked, texted and now called you, I’ve clearly moved on.

(LENA): Max-

(MAX): I’m not finished. Rita’s selling the bar, which is as fucked as it sounds and did you know that Victor Feng thinks San Myshuno is in a state of neglect? What do you think he means by that?

(LENA): I don’t fucking know, but-

(MAX): [low, dangerous] It was them wasn’t it? The fire. Probably a warning?

(LENA): I-I [sighing] I mean it looks that way, yeah.

(MAX): Good. Look, I never thanked you for helping me with all of this. I know you were never quite comfortable with it all, but it was…I’m glad that you did.

(LENA): W-Wait, please don’t do what I think you’re doing.

(MAX): Lena, you don’t have to worry about me! I’m fine. Everything’s gonna be fine.

(LENA): Max!- [Max cuts the call]

“Don’t cry.” I comfort her as best I’m able, rocking slightly on the spot. “I’m sure daddy didn’t mean to yell.” The last few words are pointed, a scowl on my lips as I eye him critically, certain that’s who he must be. He’s the spitting image of her, or well, she is of him. He’s beyond gorgeous—windswept black hair, high cheekbones and full lips, and tawny brown skin covered in tattoos. His eyes are a gold-flecked onyx I’ve never seen before and I’d say he’s the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen, but…he just made his three year old daughter cry.  He knows it too, judging by the way his face crumples as he reaches for her and she shies away. “It’s ok.” I try, brushing her hair back from her face as she releases a hiccuping sob. “I’m sure he’s sorry.” I glare venomously over her head, implying that if he isn’t already, he’s about to be.

Constructed in 1940, the Shuttleworth's Collection Hawker Hurricane I R4118 (G-HUPW) is the only airworthy Hurricane to have taken part in the Battle of Britain and is perhaps the most historic Second World War fighter to have survived the conflict.
