So it seems that this happened while I was out of town, and didn't notice it till I got back.

I absolutely adore how Kitty is wearing her mask when confronting Puss after she and Perrito saw him running to get the wish for himself.

Kitty believed the exchange they had on top of that beautiful tree dressed in pink had finally proven to her that no, this isn't the old Puss she knew; this one is different. He's not that guy anymore. Maybe there's hope for them to start anew. Maybe she can let down her walls and trust him. Only for her to feel the world crumble at her feet once more shortly after. She feels so betrayed. So frustrated and angry that she opened her heart and placed her trust in someone who didn't deserve it, again, so she put on her mask to hide behind it. Literally and figuratively! And she only takes it off again after she witnesses the fight between Puss and Death and realizes Puss is indeed a changed cat I just— oh my God y'all I love this movie I love these cats I LOVE SUBTLE STORYTELLING I LOVE—

Back before I read this, I was feeling hopeless, like I was an idiot for following the story because no one really seemed to care about backstories/characters being in-character/etc... but after reading your message, it made me rethink things. I can't express enough how much I needed to hear this. People don't give comments on art as often as they used to, and it leaves us feeling... confused, and/or doubtful at times, and makes us second-guess ourselves- We could receive zero criticism and still feel like we "missed the mark" I can't thank you enough for telling me this. I needed this encouragement. And I'm glad to hear that others are as attached to the characters as I am! It makes me feel less alone.❤
