me: we gotta get you coasters
kara, to dragon age: WELL WHERE'S YOUR FUCKIN STUFF-SELLER!!
me, misunderstanding: uh. well. I mean. I don't know if that'd work? my dad bought these coasters in Greece in the 80s so?
kara: I bet I could find them.
me: GOOD LUCK, they were made by some guy named thanos in greece. that's all it says on the back. made by thanos.
kara, on ebay 5 seconds later, on a listing of the vintage greek coasters from my childhood: I Found Your Fuckin Stuff-Seller >:3

everybodys gotta get back into the practice of using pseudonyms online... i remember the time of screen names where u never ever told anyone ur real name and that was just understood as basic internet safety. plus having a screen name is fun because sometimes it sticks so well that it becomes part of ur identity that u can use in whatever facet of ur life you choose. it rocks to pick your own name

legitimate question ....... why do people like to tell me all the reasons they don't like miraculous ladybug? i know i complain about the fact a lot, and i find myself on the defensive a lot, and i keep telling myself i'll stop and let it go, but it really is hard when people are always coming onto my posts, in my replies, in my comments, on my art and my fics and my text posts and anything i make, and telling me blatantly all the ways that they don't like the thing that i so blatantly find enjoyment in. "the show is bad". okay? good for you? why are you on my post about it? why don't you make your own? why are you telling me, specifically, this, on the art/fic/analysis i made that i assume you found by searching through the tag?
it's kind of a behavior that i legitimately don't understand. I'm a human being and I hate a lot of things, too. there are things i've loved at first and been disappointed by and have strong opinions about. there are things i like to complain about. so i'll complain about them to my friends or my family or my cat. but i have never, once, not even for a single moment, thought, "oh let me go into the tags of this media, find a positive post about it written by someone who's having fun with it, and make it that random stranger's problem". never once.
i just don't get it. i really don't get it. i sometimes worry that i come across like i'm heavily critical of people who just personally don't like the show, when really i'm just trying to defend my interests to the droves of strangers who are always coming specifically to me to tell me all the ways they hate the thing that makes me happy.
just.......... why? where does the urge come from? what do you get out of this?

Apparently much-needed reminder that reposting artists' art (by saving the images or screenshotting them and reuploading them yourself) on other platforms without the artists' expressed permission and without credit is theft and an insult to their passion and craft. You are profiting (in views, in attention, in feedback) from someone else's work and ideas, who do not get that feedback for sharing their creation.
If you are an art reposter, you are a thief and I have no respect for you.

Here's the truth: if this website collapses too, I will never know when a show has finally come out, because I won't suddenly see new gifs from it.

I do think some of the handwringing I've seen about "hate" is funny because from what I can tell, even on twitter people are being surprisingly civil. The cast hasn't even had to make a big announcement clarifying a situation because everyone misinterpreted something and worked themselves into a furor. It took less than 12 hours after the c2 finale before Matt and Liam were like, "Uh, what do you mean, we literally said on stream Caleb and Essek get together." But there's also been a significant shift online since then to the point where anything short of "the precious baby blorbos were treated so niceys :3" is considered vicious hate, for some reason*, so I can't say I'm really surprised.

I really hope the hermits and victims are okay right now, I'm glad they have each other at least though all this
Thankfully they're all adults with support. I trust their judgement as a group and will continue to do so.
If anyone on here needs support or to vent my ask box and dms are open. If you do not wish me to publish an ask (if you're just venting for example) please put that at the top.
P.s please do not send hate to anyone. Hate is never necessary.

Look okay I would never be so gauche as to tag a youtuber on a post of mine unprompted; youtubers are like wizards in that they cannot be called, but show up suddenly and unexpectedly at a time of their own choosing to throw your life into disarray
But I woke up to a message from my best friend linking me strange aeons' post about doing a dramatic reading of the PPCC and y'know I gotta make sure they got the most complete and up to date version of it

i will not lie this whole platform is hilarious to me. I dont even have 1k followers here yet (not something i care about) but i am really close to. this blog initially wasnt even supposed to have one single follower. some of my art posts make it to several thousand notes but only if theyre fanart which is understandable. all of this is normal. but somehow SOMEHOW ive created some sort of mold cult which exists parallel to the bsd fanart in this blog. my average shitpost or mold preaching gets more notes than any of my non bsd art and more notes than the non-art posts of many of my mutuals that have several thousand followers. i did not mean for a single second for this to happen. Yet i will embrace it

The 17 y/o staring at multiple "minors do not interact" banners, mdni in bold red text, and sometimes mdni in large font:
Tumblr media
I know you probably don't consider yourself a "minor" at 17, but you are. Legally. If an nsft/smut blog is asking you not to follow or interact with their blog, then please respect that. Minors do not belong in nsf.w spaces. If we're lucky, nothing will happen except the adult running the blog/space will probably be uncomfortable. If we're really unlucky, and the wrong people see minors in these spaces, the adult(s) could get in legal trouble even if they repeatedly tell the minors to leave.
We live in an unfortunate time when any content or space that's considered "inappropriate" by fascist/conservative standards is usually assumed to be full of pedo.philes (read: queer people, neurodivergent/autistic people, "freaks" likes furries, etc). And if those conservatives find out that MINORS (read: the precious children that they're "always thinking about and trying to protect") are "indoctrinated" into these spaces, bad things happen. I don't want to fearmonger, but I've seen some horrible things happen to creators who did not want minors following them since they posted p.orn. No amount of "but I told them to not follow/interact" saved them from public backlash and dogpiling from both conservatives AND liberals.
Please just wait another year until you are legally 18. Reading/reblogging/commenting on that fanfic isn't worth making the author uncomfortable or, worst case scenario, getting them into legal trouble. Let's be kind and considerate to each other please.
Sorry for the rant or word soup. I'm just really tired of finding minors reblogging my fics that very clearly state "minors do not interact". :/

This might be a bit random but would you say you have any thoughts on Neurodivergent readings of Zhongli (more specifically autistic)? I was thinking about it in the latest chapter of JG amd even before then too. as an autistic person myself i feel he reads very heavily as such, especially when talking about his human mask and feeling like he doesn't need to force it as much with childe, and his issues with human expression in smiling etc. but I think it's then an interesting debate between that and the fact that, well, he's just not human. that all comes from a place of being an entirely different species, unevolved and unrelated to human brains and how they think and read social patterns, and I feel we don't really have any way of telling if ZL has any divergent tendencies among dragons right? and even then he's half, too, so that affects things.
anyway sorry for the ramble I was mainly wondering if you had any opinions on the matter, or if you intended the parallels I definitely see while reading your Zhongli! love your work as always <3333
i think i might've commented on this at some point but never directly, so here – i do have thoughts on the matter!
as you mentioned, it's difficult to tell with characters that aren't human, because you can't call something 'neurodivergent' if the bases for their neurotypical-ity are not the ones by which we measure this stuff. so, to me, ALL non-human characters are neurodivergent-coded. they may not be neurodivergent, technically speaking (like how you mentioned, maybe all dragons are just like zl), but to us, they read as such. so, coded. ultimately i do think there is merit in labeling them as neurodivergent because, even if they, again, technically aren't; we are going to run into problems if we attempt to treat them as neurotypical, so we might as well say yeah, neurodivergent. it is also kinda correct anyway – they do diverge from us. that's a fact. it's like saying dogs are colorblind. if all dogs see in the same range, then you can't say your dog in specific is colorblind (unless it actually is but that's beside the point); but compared to us, from our perspective, for what it matters to us and how that will translate into how we treat them then yes! dogs are colorblind! i think i mentioned it once in conjunction with characters like alhaitham. to me, zhongli is neurodivergent-coded, while alhaitham is neurodivergent straight-up. because (as far as we know) he's human, so his brain should, in theory, be like ours.
as for which flavor of neurodivergency zl is coded to have in specific i would agree with you on autism! but then again, i'm not an expert on these things, i don't know the exact ins and outs and the specific characteristics that constitute an autistic character – i just write them the way i perceive them, with the quirks i perceive them to have. not to get preachy but i think that's the better way to write characters in general, since that's how real people work, after all. people with autism aren't born fitting some parameters that will make them autistic – they're born with specific quirks that we then interpret as autism, and even then you don't necessarily get two people having the exact same experience with this. most of these terms are umbrella terms regardless as to how well-defined or how big or small the umbrella is.
so yeah!
#thank you <3 <3#please i hope that last part doesn't imply i'm trying to shove autistic zhongli under the rug just bc i don't write w it in mind#like trying to distance myself from that but saying y'all are free to come up with headcanons#that's not what's happening#(i know most of you can tell but you can never be too sure on the internet these days)#i just genuinely do not think about that stuff when writing. sexuality is included in this bag of 'stuff'#i WILL point at zl in-game and go 'yeah you're autistic-coded'#but when i'm writing i don't have a doc open with medical info and memoirs and reddit threads about how autistic people behave#none of these characters have been confirmed to have one thing in specific (that i know)#if hoyo came out w a character and said 'this one has [this specific condition]'#then yeah i'd pull up some research to understand [the condition] for further context. because then it's been said explicitly#like writing a character from an etnicity you're not part of#but since right now a good chunk of everything is up in the air i'm just writing by what hoyo HAS told us#(and adding headcanons along the way obviously)#i hope that makes sense#i don't even know if i answered the ask properly lmao#i guess the parallels would be both intended and unintentional. i AM writing a neurodivergent character;#it's just that his neurodivergency in this case comes from the fact his brain just does not work the same way as ours bc again. not human#but since that's also kinda what happens to neurodivergent humans then yes. he's gonna look mighty neurodivergent to us#but yeah nd zhongli for sure. my autistic-coded man <3#ty ily sorry for the tag rant hahah <3 <3 <3
