Long Day

Pairing: Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw x fem!reader

Word Count: 749

Warnings: highly self-indulgent, as all my Rooster fics are. Just softness, nothing to worry about

A/N: Ok, so by popular demand, I am working on more little drabbles and a reveal to Hangman, but today I just had the need to write some more fluff with this man. Rooster had a bad day, so you just hold him for a while.

You knew it had been a long day almost the moment he walked in the door. Bradley would normally call out a greeting to you when he walked in the door, then come find you in the house to wrap you in a hug. Today was no exception to that. However, he was noticeably exhausted as he made his way to you.

You were just finishing cleaning the counter as he leaned heavily onto you from behind, resting his chin on your shoulder. Turning your head, you kissed his cheek. 

“Long day?” you asked, and he sighed against your skin.

“Something like that.”

“Do you want to lay down? We could order pizza, watch a movie…”

He nodded, tilting his head down to press a kiss to your shoulder. You took one of his hands in yours, lifting it to your lips. 

Then, you led him silently to the couch. You sat first, pulling him into your arms to rest against you with his head on your chest. He flipped through the channels for something to watch while you ordered food for the two of you. Your fingers combed through his hair and you waited for him to talk. 

Bradley always told you what was bothering him eventually, once you had built that trust with him. You had learned that he didn’t enjoy the distraction of idle chat on rough days, at least not before he’d gotten everything off his chest, so you just kept scratching his scalp lightly. The tension in his whole body released slowly and then all at once. 

“It was Hangman,” he said at last. “He brought up my dad and I just… I saw red.” When he paused, you just kissed the top of his head, sensing there was more to it. “The worst thing is that he was just baiting me. And the second I rose to it, he threw it in my face.”

His arms squeezed around you as he pressed his face into your neck. You moved one hand to his back, tracing up and down his spine. He sighed, and his breath triggered goosebumps on your neck.

“I’m sorry, sweetheart,” you commiserated. “He’s an ass.”

“He really is,” Bradley groaned, pressing a quick kiss to your skin. “What am I going to do?”

“I don’t know,” you answered honestly. “I do know that you’ll figure it out and that whatever you do, I’ll be right there with you.”

He sighed again, nodding just a little. “You’re right.”

“I can kick him in the ass if it’ll make you feel better,” you offered after another moment of brushing your fingers over his scalp.

He laughed, his whole body shaking from the strength of it. You chuckled too, holding him as close as you could. As he relaxed again, you leaned down to kiss his hair and press your cheek to the top of his head.

“Thank you, honey,” he murmured.

“Anything for you.”

Bradley moved one arm to prop himself up, leaning over you. His breath fanned over your lips. You leaned up as he tilted his head down and your lips met in the middle. It was an easy, undemanding kiss, and it didn’t last long.

You traced your fingers down the side of his face when you pulled apart, memorizing the contours of his face. He smiled softly when your thumb ran across his lower lip. You slid your hand around to the back of his neck, gently urging him down for another brief kiss.

“Have I told you I love you today?”

“You have.” Of course he had. “I like hearing it.”

The final embers of frustration in his eyes burned out at last. “I love you,” he murmured again, kissing your forehead. “I love you.” Another kiss, this time on your cheek. “I love you.” Your nose.

“I love you, Bradley Bradshaw.” Your heart was bursting from your chest, compelling you to speak. You knew he liked to repeat the words as he trailed kisses across your skin for as long as you would allow, but you couldn’t wait another moment to say it back to him.

He grinned, starting to lean down again when the doorbell rang.

“That’s probably the pizza.” You shrug, half apologetically.

Bradley sighed dramatically, dropping his head to kiss your neck one last time. He pushed himself up to answer the door.

“You stay right there, little lady, I’ll be right back,” he called over his shoulder.

“I’m counting on it, Lieutenant.”

Samba Schutte hosted a 'cooking with samba' online and mentioned season 2 during.

This rules out June in my book. I think at best we're getting a date announced in June but may not see new eps until August.

guys im currently sitting in the movie theater about to see top gun maverick again

When was the last time I posted a fic?

I'm not sure, but I think it was fathers day and it wasn't even starwars, it was top gun.

So I know it's been a while. I have lots of them I need to finish and I still can't seem to find motivation.

Here's some of what I got-

Another (like, my third one bc I refuse to accept Fives is dead) Fives & Echo reunion but at Cid's

Another another (like, #4, don't ask, there's just too many senarios.) Fives & Echo where Echo is rescued before Fives dies and It's all about how Echo's beyond glad that Fives recognises him

A different kind of clonewar #4 where Cody & Wolffe take down Rex finally

Au oneshot where Anakin and padme raise the twins but order 66 still happened and Obi-wan actually joined the rebellion. Anakin brings the twins to the base (no one except obi-wan knows he's even alive) and they run off and Leia finds Obi-wan.

Fives breaks down after Echo's death and Rex comes to comfort him. Cody maybe too.

Top Gun: Mav where Mav is teaching and Rooster tends to throw verbal punches that no one else catches and they have a talk. Maybe I'll involve Ice.

TG:M where they're back at Penny's bar and Rooster wants Mav to play the piano with him. Good feels.

And for some reason i really want to write for NCIS but idk what about and I only do platonic relationships if i feel like writing something sad or sappy but idk what about.

I have hcs. None of them are very good, but I do.

I just need feedback and ideas & idk where or who'll see this but HELP.
