you were glad he finally opened up to you, but your heart ached at the way he thought of himself. how could he not see how highly everyone thought of him, especially you?

"just you? leo, you're the coolest person i know. you're so, so smart, you can fix just about anything, you're funny, you're kind, you can cook; what's not to love?" you smiled softly. you could go on and on about this man. for him to think that he was the lucky one? it was quite the opposite.

☆ WEIRD SLEEPER - Rui Kamishiro x Reader

If there's one thing Rui wanted to do with you, it was having a sleepover. Granted, he knew he didn't fall asleep at the most conventional of times, but he did want to spend time with you!

However, you kept telling him you were busy on nights he invited you over for one. If he were anyone else, he would've thought it was a coincidence, but he's an observant guy. He notices these little things when others wouldn't

So, it's only a bit of a shock when he asks you about it randomly, head tilted and eyebrow raised. "Do you avoid sleepovers because of me, or is it something else?" You clarify that it wasn't because of him at all, and he hums. "Well, can you give me a reason at least? I promise I won't mind."

You were embarrassed to admit it, but you told Rui about how you always did weird things in your sleep, and people would always tell you about them. You didn't want him to be another person in that list-

He simply laughed though, assuring you that you would be fine. He also moved a bit in his sleep, but definitely not to the level that you did-

With his assurance in mind, you accept when he offers to have a sleepover that night. He gives you a grin and kisses your forehead, "I'll see you later tonight then."

The sleepover is actually pretty calm, with Rui working in his workshop and talking with you before you both made your way to his room. He had put on a movie, and the two of you laid down beside each other

You looked him dead in the eyes and told him to not make fun of you for anything that would happen. He chuckles and says there's no promises

Despite your best efforts, you're the first one to drift off. Rui sits there for a couple of minutes, watching you with an adoring look in his eyes. You looked so cute...

Well, you did, until you started shifting around. You were mumbling nonsense he couldn't understand, and when your limbs flung out, he only barely managed to dodge one of your unconscious punches

He tried his hardest not to laugh as you continued to shift around, occasionally mumbling his name or some other nonsense before kicking the sheets. You had brought all the blankets to you in your mess, but he didn't mind

In the morning, you woke up in a bundle of blankets with your arms and legs thrown everywhere. You panicked, looking beside you to find Rui peacefully sleeping, not seeming bothered by the lack of blankets

You hoped that he didn't witness any of your weird shifting around, but when he woke up and looked at you, you could already tell he did

He grinned, resting his cheek on his palm before giving you a look over. "Good morning dearest. Did you have a good rest? I'd assume moving around like that would mean you had a nightmare or something."

You groan, burying your face in your hands. "I told you it was bad-" "Aww, dearest, don't worry. It was kind of cute actually! Especially when you were mumbling my name." Your face grew warm, and he gently poked your face with a hum

As embarrassed as you were over the whole ordeal, he wanted to have more sleepovers with you. As much as you moved around, be thought you were an adorable sleeper <3

Answers Update

OKAY IK THIS IS A TEXT BLOCK BUT DONT PANIC! We are good JKSDKJL

So it’s been about a month since the last chapter update, my b 💀🙏BUT I have good reasons, and I realized that while I mentioned it in an A/N on the fic itself, I probably have people following me here who haven’t seen that 😭👍Better late than never tho! Putting it under a cut bc it’s a bit long my bad

I’ve had a good chunk of chapter 39 completed since I uploaded 38, but as I was writing and reviewing my stuff to ensure consistency and such, erm, well 😭I’ve hit a point where the problems I’ve had on the backburner are no longer avoidable. Additionally, by nature of how long I’ve been working on this story (4.5 years mama mia 💀💀💀) I’ve had time to think about and enhance some #Lore 😳!

Reflecting on all of this, I really think that in order for the upcoming bits to be at their best and most impactful, I need to revisit the much older chapters and make some revisions. Which I know can sound beyond frustrating, but I would rather do this and make the whole experience much more consistent and satisfying than shoehorn in a bunch of stuff late-game and feel like a rugpull yk???

The main thing that pushed me over the edge is Hiro because the track that I’ve been on regarding his background/power set up is gonna lead me into an unsatisfying and unfun corner, and that’s not what I want. So I’ve been rattling that man around for months tryna figure smth out AND I FINALLY GOT IT! His character and personality won’t be changing so no worries there! Nor will introductions or roles, but I’ve finally got something set up to explain his powers a lot more reasonably as well as being able to have a bit more classic HB callbacks :]

Essentially I’m gonna do what I did in 2021 where I have a little laundry list of things to tweak and add so that the story is at it’s best! My writing abilities have definitely improved and grown since I first started writing this fic, so I’m finally able to add or depict things I simply didn’t have the skill level for before which is SOOOOO SATISFYING !!!

Currently all chapters up to chapter 14 have been updated with new action sequences, conversations, and grammatical/pacing issues resolved to be much closer to how I always intended for them to be--also some fun little 1.20 snippets that just fit in a way I’ve always wanted! Those cherry trees were too good to not mention 💖

When I’m done I’ll be uploading the real chapter 39 in the place of the A/N one and will denote which chapters got the most notable changes :> They’ll mostly be the ones from about 8-15 I’d say tho solely because of Hiro 😭 Love that bastard but he has been a MIGRAINE to sort out for YEARS

So does he truly think she’s like that, in some cases I think she’s naive and way in over her head, but she didn’t have many options and she’s been taking everything pretty well which hobi admired her for. Namjoon hasn’t gotten to know her yet so we’ll see how his opinion of her will change. Namkook definitely needed more time to warm up to MC than some of the others. They'll slowly come around (we saw it in more recent chapters!) but it'll be so sweet to see them grow closer to her. Seokjin!! He's really so interested in everything about MC, and sees her as sort of a mystery to figure out. As for Jimin, he has the most different upbringing compared to the other hybrids, so that's why he's a bit more "human" seeming to the rest of them. Jeongguk has had a crazy past, and trust issues are a big issue (you could call it a flaw, I suppose) for him. And Namjoon certainly thought MC was naive in the beginning, but I think he's beginning to see her strength in character and the similarities between her and her mother. Hoseok is outgoing and lively, and while he has his own issues, he recognizes how MC is doing her best to make them comfortable.

Heyy, I'm back. How are you ? It's been some time since my last ask. This one's going to be a bit long :)

First and foremost, diamond league ??? This smau has me giggling like a school girl. Where do you get unhinged ideas from. Please teach me miss, your humour is just chef's kiss :))

Also, i finished up with my school, yayy !! Got a 94% overall, and a perfect 100/100 in psychology. I also scored a 96/100 in english, which apparently hard to get considering all the writing skills part.

And finally, i took a major decison, which was to take a gap year. It has been amazing till now, and i hope it stays that way :)) During this gap year, I'll be prepping up for the medical exam of my country, it is one of the toughest exams to clear due to the number of people who sit for it. My teachers are very confident that I'll be able to clear it with a top rank, I'm honestly just hoping for the best.

I would really like to sayyy a big thank you, for writing your spiderman jake fic - I'll save you (again). That fic was my major source of comfort during my exam days as well as the time during which i was taking some vv important life decisons. Honestly, that particular story became such a source of happiness and a means of a escape for me during that tough time. I mean people usually think fic writing is for fun. But Honestly, you people and your fics are such a source of comfort and they do have an impact on people's life. So thank you again, for writing story that i now call my safe place </3

excuse to infodump because i think you're cool and fun: i recognize the name mordred from the arthurian legends but i dont know/remember a whole lot about him, what's his whole deal? what kind of stuff does he do and is he smart or stupid or both

but yes mordred my beloved!! his role is basically killing arthur for like.fifty different possible motivations, the base idea is merlin had a prophecy arthur would get killed by a baby born on may 1st, in an earlier point arthur slept with his half sister and she got pregnant with mordred who was born on may 1st, so arthur (often fully willingly) had every baby born on that day put on a boat that sunk (i believe whether that was part of the plan or not is rarely stated), and mordred was the sole survivor, from there i find his character is sorta inconsistent between versions?

some will have him just be evil because prophecy plot, others will have him be raised unaware of the prophecy and find out about it from a priest he impulsively murders right after, and ends up spiralling onto repetitive suicide attempts until he comes into terns with his fate, theres a couple that have his mother just raise him to hate arthur and i believe in some he hates him for trying to drown him? (which is honestly fair) i heard in le morte he straight up hit his head and woke up with a murderous craving, i personally like the priest prophecy take a lot!

personality wise ill be honest sometimes hes just guy who kills arthur.png, and a lot of stuff try to have him be the sad emo misunderstood anti hero which i think is lame.very lame.i like it when hes a bastard bastard(joke is hes illegitimate i didnt know where to include that akausjsjfjra), not inherently evil, just a little bit of a funny asshole, hes also not *super* important? his role is mostly around the end tho, when he stands there i think its very funny

so at one point agravaine (one of mordreds older brothers who btw he has a really good dynamic with, they matter sm to each other and sm to me,,) decides to expose the queens affair with lancelot, and mordred is one of the knights who goes along, and is the sole survivor of lancelot massacring everyone there because he stayed in the hallway, after that everything goes to shit, arthur tries to execute the queen but lancelot comes back and kills everyone in the execution including another two of mordreds brothers, and mordreds last brother (whos actually super relevant in every story but not in this info dump lol) loses it to grief and goes to murder lancelot (and often seems to pressure arthur into starting the war against lancelot and his family) arthur leaves mordred in control and mordred steals the knighting sword and takes over (its sometimes said the people liked him better than arthur because he wasnt sending the kingdom to war constantly)(in some versions he also marries arthurs wife but ehhh i find that to be way too stereotypical evil and doesnt suit him at all)

arthur eventually comes back to fight mordred and they kill each other, and i REALLY like this one version where arthur manages to stab mordred with his lance, but mordred pushes himself deeper into it unexpectedly and manages to get a fatal swing with his sword on arthur

some version have his corpse dragged around the fields till its no longer recognizable and one has him survive but get locked with guinevere (arthurs wife) in a grave of sorts and he ends up eating her corpse but eventually starves to death anyway

on his takeover motivation i personally like to-and this has some headcanons-so i like to write mordred as having psychosis, and the stress of losing his brothers and the whole prophecy thing puts him in a very vunerable position, where i then like to mix this version where the emperor lucius plot happens at end, and he gets manipulated into an episode that the prophecy is an inevitable pure truth and he may as well get revenge on everyone by lucius into going through with the prophecy plot

also he has autism.i have no arguments but Dude Trust Me

finally whether hes smart or stupid is sort of its own discussion? some stories have him be extremely planning which i dont rly like? i dont believe hes straight up stupid but i dont think hes some sort of highly manipulative evil genius, hes just.very spiteful and thats what solely drove him at the end lol
