I hate that I just had to email one of my former professors to explain why we can't interlibrary-loan an academic book that she requested, one we probably would have been able to get easily a few months ago. Meanwhile, since yesterday we've gotten ten requests (and counting) for books that we own from various public libraries across the state, and I'll be able to supply all of those. Because of the new ILL system, I can't do my job of providing the campus with the academic books and articles that they need because apparently there are no academic libraries actively lending through this system (except us, of course), but I sure am keeping every public library in the state well-supplied with whatever they want. And there's nothing we can do about it because money.
