I have autism, Adhd, BPD and am a lesbian genderfluid person. I found out a while ago that theres people who actually try and take back words so they can't really be used against the people it was used against anymore. For example. The r word and the f word (not fuck, The other one)

I've been using them more lately to try and take em back, Yknow? I don't see anything wrong with it since I myself am autistic and apart of the lgbtq. I use it in arguments, I use it against my friends when we're playing around and pretending to be mad, And I even use it against myself at times calling myself yknow, A f and r word. I don't wanna say the actual things here incase it triggers anyone reading.

I always tag it correctly if its online or public, And I don't use them in every argument, Only if they started using stuff like that first. It's never been a problem, Until as of late. We made a new friend and they told me that I have no right to use those words, And that I'm hurting real autistic people and gay people [I don't know if they were implying I'm faking? I've been diagnosed by multiple doctors when I was little for the nerodivergency, And I've always liked using different pronouns and women since I remember]

It's begun to kinda tear our friend group apart. I'm not trying to hurt anyone, I'm trying to take it back so it can be come as useless as any insult like stupid or ugly. I want to make it more normalized so it cant hurt anyone anymore

im not gonna sit here and regale you on the message of the movie. they only said fax, no printer, and its an important message to send kids. alot of the messages kids get about races and borders is “we are all the same 😚” but they came in with the “we are NOT the same and that is both good and bad, both exciting and dangerous so you need to be aware of dangerous ideas of “harmony”” and thats so real. kids need to understand differences are OK.

i love how they backed off the “chosen one” vibe poppy had in the first movie and talked about her flaws as a leader. while her stubborness was a good thing in the first movie to contrast branches pessimistic nature, it wouldnt have worked here, and i can see a cheap writer (like m*chael w*ldron) either insisting she gets away with her selfishness and carrying on with the happy ending anyway, or pretending that wasnt a character trait at all (because w*ldron doesnt watch the first movie and writes a sequel anyway)

my favorite scene is the bubble scene and the woods right after they leave funk where branch confronts poppy. do i even need to tell you why?

i just want to mention it because im pretty sure branch sings a cover of “girl crush” by little big town, which is a country band, and branch said he likes country music earlier and that slays. but when poppy comes in, what they sing is definitley not girl crush, and i cant tell if its giving “trolls can mix music” or im completley wrong and its a different song alltogether. but i cant tell if that song is homophobic or is super gay, so if im wrong thats prob for the best.

the only flaw i can think of is the country music, as a midwestern i can confidently say that was an affront to real blue grass country music. i guess born to die “works” but it didnt represent country as well as the other genres did. theres alot of controversy in the country music fandom with alot of singers who sound exactly the same and produced like its a factory line. but even if people still think miranda lambert and carrie underwood arent true country singers, their songs wouldve worked better than born to die. also the country trolls shouldve been on a self sufficient farm instead of the wild west. that wild western jazzy piano and country music isnt the same.

Barb really was goat, the best antagonist in the franchise. I love parallels between her and Poppy, how both had different intentions (Poppy wanted to help and Barb wanted to conquer) but Poppy's method was also wrong and both Poppy and Barb and everyone had to make compromises for all tribes to live in harmony because no one has to change their lifestyle for that to happen, all they have to do is accept that they're different and that's perfect. Just be yourself and let others be themselves.

That song in the end (Just Sing) slaps hard (and so does Can't Stop The Feeling btw).

anyways. gene!!!!! i will give a few thoughts/headcanons/paragraph-long rants about him weeeeee

for mystreet specifically:

-gene is a wof fan, dante is a wc fan. gene is quickly outnumbered bc vylad, zenix, and sasha all also like wc, and he is forced (read: willingly does so bc their friends like it. not that she'll Ever admit that tho) to read wc. it actually ends up liking the books (he heavily relates to ivypool... i wonder why... such a mystery... /j)

-gene is very tall and towers over most of the people they know bc theyre 6'3 (he took all of the available height when he was born so now dante is 5'2 /j). she feels very self-conscious about her height at times but usually finds it very entertaining to scarily lean over people (even though none of their friends are scared by that at all bc theyre super skinny and they have the energy of a sopping wet kitten /j)

-during high school, gene is too stressed to deal with gender or sexuality or anything but that does not stop it from hitting him like a truck. and then backing up to run her over again. repeatedly. they are genderfluid and use any pronouns, and they are bi, polyam, sapphillean, demiromantic, and asexual :)

-seems very intimidating to strangers but the second u actually start talking to them they just. arent intimidating at all? he can be a little rude at times (due to the Autism) and is very quiet and closed off, but really hes just shy and bad at talking to people. unless u hurt any of her friends then she WILL murder u

-fully turned into a shadow knight after murdering their father. he also set his home village on fire and erased everyones memory of him and dante for good measure (in his mind, he thought he was helping dante)

-gene is 6'8. he used to be 6'6 but grew two inches when he became a shadow knight. also they used to have really long hair (bc he wasnt allowed to cut it) but now they have very fluffy hair that ends around their shoulders

-the color red is a huge trigger for him, he hates it

-was launched out of one abusive relationship (his dad) right into another (shad). he didnt realize shad was abusive for a long time bc, well, shad is nice to him a lot of the time, sure he forces gene to commit murder and torture people and gene really feels iffy about that, but he lets gene cut his hair and and wear masculine clothes so he cant be that bad right hahaha? (<- gene is in denial)

so frustrating when tras use indigenous people to support their gender bullshit. "there are many indigenous groups that believe in the concept of gender" consider that just because there are cultures out there that believe it to be true doesn't mean that it is. "its racist to say that transwomen arent women because native americans believe in something similar" is like actually so dumb. is it also racist to think that a cow is just a regular animal even though many south Asians believe them to be sacred creatures? at least indigenous people dont make it everyones fucking business what their supposed gender traditions are. thats the main difference between trans weirdos and natives.

the thing is, every culture has their own conception and understanding of gender bc gender is the social roles ascribed to members of each sex. this is why arguments over there being two genders or more or none or whatever is all so stupid, bc it’s literally a social construct and the numbers and the way it presents itself will vary.

also many native americans take issue with two-spirit being equated to trans from what ive seen. and many have talked about how this idea of gender isn’t even held by all native american nations, and that it’s often exclusive to gnc homosexual males. a lot of third genders in many cultures are for gnc gay people specifically and many people *from those cultures* talk about how it can be tied to homophobia. however, since im not from those cultures nor am i particularly knowledgable on them, id much rather hear from people from those cultures on this instead of pretend to be an authority on it. or id love to read more detailed resources on the topic. i def don’t know enough to say anything more detailed or have my own takes on it.

also as someone whose society’s homophobia was used by westerners as proof of “third genders”, i think white western TRAs weaponising different ideas of gender in diff cultures are doing so out of ignorance, tokenisation, and racism. which is probably why so many native americans and even indian ppl, regardless of their political stances, have said to stop equating their third genders with the white western trans movement.

I think it can be tricky because even if most gaylors believe in the possibility she may be other than straight, not all of them behave that way or speculate about her life even. People just don't want or care enough to realize this but the truth is that there are awful, obsessive people as in any other fandom and among straight swifties as well, not just gaylors. So when I see posts going around calling out gaylors about something gross an specific group of people did, or saying they're all disgusting pieces of shit that should choke or die, I can't help being offended as a gay fan who likes to queer code her lyrics so I can apply them to my life, without speculating about her sexuality. And that's how many normal gaylors can be offended and take it as homophobic. I just think we should all be a little bit more careful about the words we use and not generalize because the line can be so thin and confused and become really serious (like a couple of days ago, when a 14 year old popped into someone's ask saying that they've been told to kill themselves just because of wishing Taylor was gay and identifying themselves as a gaylor, for example)

i agree that language can be really tricky, especially when it's about something that doesnt really have 1 single definition and can be something as innocent as just simply being someones sexual identity or as problematic as speculating about a strangers. this is the reason i specified in my post saying 'those gaylors' (as in the ones bothering maya) and not just in general, simply because it can mean different things to different people.

and i also agree that gaylors (the speculating kinds) arent the only bad part of the fandom. any fan that theorizes on taylors personal life are invasive and cross boundaries. the fans who went to taylors old house on cornelia street when the news of the break up broke, that's weird and invasive. the fans who swore they were already married with children are crossing boundaries. we as a fandom need to learn to just enjoy her music and once she releases a song it is no longer solely connected to her personal life.

like you said, your story is yours and you listen to her songs through a queer lens, because that you. that belongs to you and you have every right to see it through you're own view. what's crossing the line forcing that view onto someone who didnt ask for it, which is taylor. people who speculate on her sexuality are taking their personal life and projecting it onto her, an nonconsenting party, when it's not hers. it's theirs. and the exact same thing can be said about straight fans, they can listen to the exact same song and see it through their own lens, as they should. but instead some decide to only see it through the lens of the theorized personal life of taylors they have just completely fictionalized based on other songs. like how fans are theorizing taylor picking the surprise songs on tour based on how she feels about joe now, every comment under her performance of 'you're not sorry' was like 'omggg shes so mad what did joe do??' like that is none of our business. she is literally just singing a song of hers.

like she herself as said before, once a song is released it is no longer hers. it's ours. so why are people forcing her onto the meaning when she herself said she doesnt want that. make it your own without her being involved in any way.

i've said this before but this fandom needs to grow up and stop analyzing gossip and pretending to know anything about taylors life behind the curtain and start relating to songs the healthy way, which is applying it to their own life and their life alone.

well if we arent strict on the someone part (one person i could pinpoint) changing my mind - ill say wolfstar. i wasnt shipping them initially when i first entered the fandom (tho it wasnt the english speaking fandom on tumblr or ff.net) and now its my whole personality. i had no idea it exists, or that its even a possibility to ship 2 men together (I was 12 with no critical thinking skills. i knew gay ppl exist but i didnt know its something that can exist in fiction too i guess?) and all the fics there were included sirius x marlene or sirius x dorcas. and one day i completely randomly stumbled upon this ship. and now, after all this time, im here.

aside from that - probably most ships that im into now that arent wolfstar - wolfstarbucks, wolfbucks, prongsfoot, lilypad and jilypad. I cant pinpoint who exactly introduced me to which ship tho - I just know that people in the fandom that I follow talk about those ships and i was like, i see the vision. similar thing in the case of non-marauders ships like Cedric, Fleur/Bill/Tonks or Fleur/Tonks - but here its more like, i dont really care about anyone thats not S or R and thats why i didnt consider any of those ships initially (but I've always liked Tonks).

I mentioned a couple times I ship prongsfoot, but what I meant is I see why people ship them, and I ship them when in polyships I mentioned, and I do consider Sirius being in love with James (so, unrequired prongsfoot) in most concepts/storylines - but i wish I could get fully into the actual ship bc i feel like this part of the fandom writes them more in characters, and is generally a nice place to be. But I also saw some ppl talk about prongsfoot and james cheating on lily or sth and i know i wont get into that (cheating just squicks me out i guess?)

(this kinda goes for most of my ships that arent my OTP, I think? I like them, but im not into them enought to consider them my OTPs and sometimes I wish I did)

Also femslash ships. I wish I was more into them, and I dont want to excuse or justify why i dont like many femslash ships (there is so much discourse in many fandoms about it and i really dont want to do that). Im just not into them that much - i like them, but i dont read or write just about them, and I wish I did (maybe I will someday). In the case of the marauders fandom - Im not into dorlene or marylily bc those characters (sans Lily) are basically fandom's OCs (and I love that the fandom looked at those characters that were mentioned once in the books and made them quite interesting too. but I dont really care about them bc they are neither S or R and also there is no canon of them for me to fall back to)

When I did a presentation about my fav ships I mentioned that I loved Steve Roger's arc in his first movie bc he went from "I dont want to kill anyone. I want to fight nazis bc I dont like bullies - I dont care where they come from" to "I'm not going to stop till all of Hydra is dead or captured" after he lost Bucky </3 (but thats just the first movie. and i still pretend endgame didnt happen. so) (also ive read metas that steve's arc was tied to saving/loosing bucky, and i love that from the shipping perspective)

Everyone in the Stranger Things fandom loves Steve Harrington's arc - he went from a background asshole jock to a heroic babysitter working minimum wage whose best friend is a lesbian - and now that he's a fan's favourite he's also most likely to die in the last season

I also read some posts/metas about Remus's arc and his nonlinear healing and learning to take on responsibility and I dont like most elements that his arc consists off but I do find it very interesting.
