there were many others but you were there first. you reached the righteous man first. his soul fought and wailed but it was still so beautiful. you held him so tightly so closely that without even meaning to (or maybe you did mean to even you're not sure) you left your brand on him. once he was secure you took off crowing with sheer delight so loudly that somewhere an angel turned human heard you clear as a bell. "Dean Winchester is saved."
he's whole again and you try (hope) to speak with him as you are. you're not sure why you want so badly for him to hear your true self but regardless it's in vain. it's fine though. he'll call you.
and call you he does. he fears you you realize he's deathly afraid but why shouldn't he be. you could kill him without a thought but still. still he attacks he remains on the offense even in the face of power he can't possibly comprehend. he stabs you and you feel...
you let him know how important he is how imperative he is to a plot you yourself aren't entirely privy to. you let him know you were the one to save him from perdition. it's just as important that he knows it was you. you're again unsure why it matters so much.
he doesn't believe though. the most righteous human being and he has no faith. this fascinates and devastates you. you've seen the damage first in hell but even now. "not in my experience" he says. and you see him. and it's different.
you love humanity. you love it as your father meant you to. but this man. Dean Winchester. he's changing things. you don't know what to make of it yet.
you have no idea right now just how much meeting him will change you. how much you'll feel how fiercely you'll love. from the moment you laid a hand on him in hell. you were lost. and you will always believe it to be the best thing that happened to you.
oh god oh fuck i am facing karma so bad rn i really didnt get how people watched supernatural cause they were into dean or sam but oh why do i feel like this about castiel. HES SUCH A GUY I LOVE HIM
Wow, just wow. @somerandomdudelmao, your series was incredible. I only found your comic in July and I didn’t become an active tumblr user/follower till September, but I’m so glad I got to watch this project come to a close. The ROTTMNT fandom wouldn’t be the same without you and your comic. You’ve inspired so many people, including me, and I just want to say thank you, Cass. Thank you for making my year a little bit brighter. Thank you for reigniting my love of art. Thank you for creating. Thank you for existing.
You’re no longer just some random dude lmao. You’re the creature who fixed the apocalypse, the creature who brought together thousands of people and built a family. A family of turtles and fans.
In honor of C.A.S I wanted to color and animate the final panel of the comic. Im still learning color theory and digital art but you’ve inspired me to improve, and what better way to start than with the end? It was a beautiful ending, so perfectly paced and full of a peaceful hope twinged with a bittersweet sadness. Your comic might be done, but this turtle family will live on forever.
Now go take a well-deserved nap and relish in your success!
I love when people headcanon that Cas adopts random stray animals cuz that's so true but I personally think that random stray animals actually just follow him cuz hes an angel and gorgeous and ethereal like that
Dean misremembering the purgatory portal scene is altering my brain chemistry in so many ways. What do you mean Dean remembered it as him not being able to save Cas because he wasn't strong enough, but in reality Cas let go??? We know he remembers some things perfectly like when Cas went into the lake because he had nightmares about that, but how many other things does he misremember? Does he remember Mary dying? Does he remember all his fights with Cas? Does he remember all the times Sam died? This was such a missed opportunity to do more. They could've made Dean even more traumatized by having him misremember something for so long, and then him having to learn it was completely different and having a whole crisis about it.
