Violet always said that as long as Xaden still loved her he was still Xaden so what if they wiped her memories to forget the way he looked at her at their wedding? There’s no way that boy said his vows without looking at her like she personally hung the stars and if Vi walked onto a battlefield knowing Xaden was still in there she wouldn’t be able to harm a hair on his head. Imogen wiped her memory as part of the contingency plan aka if plan A, B and C fails they need Violet to be able to take him down and she can’t do that if she knows he’s still there..
